Today in the news, Nvidia Copies AMD, and the RX 7600 looks a little more promising than I thought. After AMD partnered up with Samsung in 2019 for their graphics IP, we had to wait 3 years for the results. The Exynoss 2200 was born with RDNA graphics, but it was nothing groundbreaking. Now, Nvidia is looking to push their IP's too, but this time with MediaTek. Who knows, something great might be there. Next up, the RX 7600, After their high end 7900 XT and 7900 XTX models, AMD is skipping all the way down to their 7600 series. In the last several years, intel has kind of taken the crown from AMD. A total win. They’ve been innovating so much that really, there's no competition. I mean they’re so good at this one specific thing that… Oh wait I should clarify, I'm talking about power consumption. Ever since the... I want to say 9900K? We’ve seen their flagship go over 150, 200, and even 250 watts bone stock. Heck with the extreme profile from Intel, their latest model, the 13900KS can reach up to 320 watts. Insane. Now, of course, intel wants to fix that, and almost 2 years ago, they explained how. Essentially, right now, power and interconnect wires in their CPU dies are kind of intermingled in a single layer. And this unfortunately creates interconnect bottlenecks. Interconnects are what allow one part of the actual CPU transistors to talk to another part. The CPU transistor layer is what's at the bottom here. Their solution? PowerVia. Rearrange everything and make it a sandwich, kinda... So they want to take the power layer, stick it at the bottom of the transistor layer, and add the interconnect on top. By doing this, they can actually add more interconnects, thanks to the relocation of the power layer, intel achieved an increase of 22% in clock speeds and far less power leakage. A couple of months ago, I made a video on the quietest keyboard switches I had ever heard. Specifically, I’m talking about the Phoenix switches from Gamakay. So, 4070 ti, it’s out, it’s bad value, and pretty much every reviewer said so. RTX 4080? Same thing, you get more performance and you get charged an equal amount of money for it. RTX 4090? Honestly, it’s probably the only one that actually makes sense from a price-to-performance ratio. Not saying it’s a great buy, but it’s the best price to performance so far. So what's next ? or actually a better question, when are we seeing something that will replace the king of value on the green team, the RTX 3060 ti, well according to Twitter leaker, Mega Size GPU, we’re not far from release. The RTX 4060 ti would be ready by the end of May. What about the RTX 4060? Well, while mega size GPU says its still undetermined but wccftech heard wind that it would also launch in may. Given that they would launch in may it’s reasonable to assume that this would be announced at Computex. WCCFtech also got some images of the GPU itself and it looks like this. Not as original as the 3060 ti, not going to lie I preferred the design of that one, but it is different. You can see how the fins actually flatten toward the middle of the card. If we look at the PCB, this thing is impressively small. It barely goes past the PCIE fingers like this is going to be a tiny boi. Let's get started with Nvidia. The 4000 series is out, or at least partially out. We have the RTX 4070 ti the 4080 and the 4090. And the next one that should come up is the RTX 4070. Now, I dont know if you’ve been on Twitter, or if you follow some news websites, but someone apparently leaked the price for the RTX 4070. So let's recap real quick. RTX 4090 ti- 1599$, 4080 1199$, 4070 ti , 799$ down from the old 899 price when they changed the name. and that's the MSRP, right? Well, according to Moore's law is dead, who leaked that info, the RTX 4070 would cost… 749. That’s 50$ less than the 4070 ti or a decrease of 6% in price for a 23% decrease in cuda cores aka performance, and a lower frequency range. That’s insane. That can't be right. Right? Like it's a joke at this point. I mean I have to make you listen to it to believe that he said that. Now you might think it's insane, but the reality is, it's possible. I know that Tom isn't always the most accurate source, but it's undeniable that sometimes his sources are right. And you can't forget that Nvidia is the company that in the past, almost doubled the price of their upgraded model for 10% more performance. I'm talking about the 3080 and 3080 ti here btw. And let's remember, AMD isn't squeaky clean either. For only a difference of about 10% or 100$, the 7900 XTX is the obvious choice. Gamers nexus called it a greedy upsell. And that’s clearly what Nvidia could do here. Let's get started with AMD. So, the company recently released their 7000X3D models of Ryzen cpu’s. Well, specifically, the 12 cores 7900X3D, and the 16 core 7950X3D. If we look at the reviews, they’re… well they’re kind of weird. Whether you look at Gamers nexus, Hardware unboxed, LTT, or whoever else’s reviews, these chips don’t really dominate the competition. In some cases, their own 8 core 7700X is as fast as the 7900X3D and sometimes even the last gen 5800X3D beats it. In other cases, the 7950X destroys the old models while the 7900X lags a little behind, but on average, they’re pretty good gaming chips. Just not worth the price difference in my opinion. Especially when compared to intel’s 13900K which at or close to the top in every benchmarks, and costs 120$ cheaper. You just have to live with a space heater. Anyways, why am I talking about this? Well because the third X3D Model, the 8 core 7800X3D is coming in a little less than a month, and AMD is starting to give us some homegrown benchmarks for it. The thing is.. Those benchmarks are WILD. Tom's hardware shared some AMD slides about the 8 core 3D chip and AMD claims it's about 20% faster than the 5800X3D, or the 13900K… but in 4 cherry-picked games. As we know, on average, the 2 new X3D models aren't all they were cracked up to be. Fast, for sure, but they didn't dominate the space like the 5800X3D did. this is why THE FUTURE OF GAMES IS AI! At least, that’s what AMD is saying. So, All GPU manufacturers now have some AI spice in their gpu sandwiches right? but right now, it's mostly used to upscale and remove aliasing from the image. So it affects the visuals, but nothing else. And since AMD can do that without AI cores, they dont think that they should focus on that aspect of AI for gaming. Instead, why not focus on things like making NPCs smarter? That’s what David wang from AMD says is one application of AI cores for games. Another one would be NERF’s or Neural Graphics. Stitching of basic pictures that are combined to make a 3D model so that the game world is easier to create. Pretty cool stuff. AMD Just announced the price and release dates of the 7800X3D 7900X3D and 7950X3D!

Lets get started with Nvidia , so, a couple of months ago, there were rumors of a new RTX Titan class of gpu. I remember the leaker who mentioned it, kopite 7 kimi, called it “The beast”. It would have about 11% more cuda cores at 18176, 48GB of gddr6X memory at an insane 24Gbps and would have a power limit of 800w. Not a TDP, a power limit. Anyways, that was about mid last year and then A COUPLE of months later, once the RTX 4000 series was announced, a photo of a super weird GPU cooler leaked. And when I say weird, I really mean it. In case you forgot, here is what it looks like . And it turns out, I was right. Well, half right. I also thought it could be a dual gpu, but yeah. Yesterday, this cooler design was spotted again, but this time on the io side, and fully assembled. This is what it looks like. The stacked IO here shows that the PCB Lines up here . You can even see the notches in the cooler from the old pic of the cooler. The main reason I see nvidia do something like that is simply to have the best cooling possible. At that point, the PCB doesnt impede on the flowthrough design at all. Its still odd that the cooler would be this big though given how the 3 slot cooler on the 4090 is already really good. Im guessing that 4 slots was needed to get the pcb height, so essentially this part, wide enough to accommodate all the components on the PCB. Yeah, that makes sense. Let's get started with Nvidia. So the lineup of their new generation of GPUs is slowly making its way out. We got the 4090 and 80 last year, and a couple of weeks ago, we got the RTX 4070 ti. And so far, we got nothing under 800$. This is mind boggling given that every past generation of GPU’s wether it is from Nvidia OR AMD, Launched with a top-tier GPU at or under 700$. But yeah, they’re way more expensive and there's nothing new in the more reasonable price ranges. Well, some leaks are popping up about future GPU launches. There's the 4070, which supposedly would come with 5 888 Cuda cores. a decrease of about 25% compared to the 4070 ti. We dont know anything really about the price point for this one. But I would bet 600 to 650$. And further down the stack, there would be the RTX 4060 ti. Right now, it is rumored to feature 26% fewer Cuda cores than the 4070, so 4352. And pricing-wise, we heard that it would be sub 500$, but since all the GPU prices seem to go up, it's likely going to be something like 449, or 479. Side note here, I really hope that the Cuda core count doesn't scale linearly for performance. Because those are some big drops from tier to tier. Anyways, a little under 500$...so why am I talking about this? A reputable leaker on Twitter called Kopite7kimi said that the 4060 ti has a performance target of an RTX 3070. A card that is on average just 12 to 13 ish percent faster than the 3060 ti. Not only that, but the gap gets even smaller if we look at the 3060 ti with GDDR6X memory, which in itself is about 4 to 6% faster than the OG 3060 ti. So if the performance target for the 4060 ti really is a stock RTX 3070, then we’re only seeing a jump in performance of about 5 to 10%ish gen over gen? Like what?
