Samsung's 990 Pro NVME is DESTROYING Itself?
Let's get started with Samsung. You know, over the years, Samsung really built a great reputation when it comes to solid-state storage. Their EVO and PRO lineup were definitely the top tier. I remember I was super excited when I got my first NVME drive. it was the 970 Evo, a super popular model. And it's 5 years later and still going strong. Other brands now are also solid contenders, but there isn’t really one with Samsung’s pedigree.
Now though… Things might change. The company recently released its 990 pro nvme drive. It's still PCIe Gen 4, and it's blazing fast almost maxing out the Gen 4 standard. It does up to 7450 MB per second in reads and up to 6,900 MB per second in writes. Plus, thanks to a better controller and newer firmware optimized for direct storage, this drive should be a beast in all categories. Tweaktown even gave it a 99% rating.
Anyways, it's a great drive! So why did I say that things might change? Well.. reports are coming left and right of this drive basically killing itself. One of the first reports was from Midian on the overclock dot net forums. About a month after he bought his drive, he noticed that the health of the drive had already dropped down to 93%... OUCH. Could it be that he abused his drive ? Well not really. Crystal disk info shows that he only wrote about 7 TB worth of data. And if you do the math, given that 990 Pro’s are rated for 1200 Terabytes written,
That means he should be at 84 terabyte written to get to that 7% of usage. So maybe he got a bad drive? Well, if we jump over to reddit, Robbie kanh posted that his 990 pro also dropped significantly in health. Thanks to those 2 posts, this information was spread a little more by outlets like PC gamer and Tweaktown.

Don't Worry About Your RX 6800 XT... It's Going to be Fine!
Today i in the news, we got an update on all those dying RX 6800 series GPUs, Intel locks CPU’s, and we got some rumors on the 4060 ti. What is up guys I’m Snow and this is your boot sequence.
Alright, so a couple of videos ago, we talked about a repair shop in Germany called Krisfix. In the last month or 2, he received 61 AMD cards. Specifically, Navi 21 Cards, so RX 6800 and 6900 series. To make a long story short, 48 out of the 61 cards received were dead. Some with literally shattered dies. What's important to note here is that all of those GPUs did work when the people who bought them tried them for the first time. They just didn't last long. He said some GPU’s broke after a day or two. The only common factor was that they all ran the same drivers, aka the latest driver from 2022. Turns out, that wasn't the only common thing, but we’ll get back to it in a second.
Anyways, we got an update on the situation. In his most recent video, He explained how he in any case, multiple known good GPUs, and stress-tested them for a couple of days straight. All in all, though, the known good GPUs were perfectly fine. They ran a little hot, but no issues per say. So what about those 48 cards that failed?
Well, he contacted the people who sent in their gpu’s, and they pretty much bought them all online second-hand. There were only 2 people who bought their GPU at retail. So all of those gpu’s that failed likely came from the same source, aka a crypto miner.

Cheap Ryzen AM5 A620 Motherboards are FINALLY Coming!
So for the last couple of years, I think it dates back to early 2020, Microsoft has been teasing some sort of direct storage API. At first, it was teased with the Xbox series X and its Velocity architecture, but in that same year, Xbox said that it would also come to PC gaming. Neat!
So where is it? Well… We’re kind of still waiting for it. No games support the feature just yet, except for one, which is supposed to come out next week. Currently though, there are some demos and benchmarks of the feature out in the wild, and it looks like you’ll get different results based on if you go AMD, Nvidia, or Intel for your GPU. [...]
Moving on, it looks like AMD’s promise might finally come true. Back when they announced the Ryzen 7000 series of cpu’s, they also talked about their motherboard platform. Specifically, they mentioned motherboards that would start at a reasonable 125$ US. Since then though… Well, you can see yourself. The minimum price right now for an AM5 board is about 160$. About 30% more expensive than promised.
The working theory was simply that we’ll have to wait for A620 boards. Well, it's been months and we’re finally seeing some proof of their existence. Gigabyte just did an EEC filing and listed 5 different A620 models, and ASUS has a listing for a TUF gaming A620M board. With the introduction of the non-X series of Ryzen 7000 CPUs and their insanely efficient 65-watt TDP, an A620 board might be just what you need to at least get into the game with zen 4.

Are AMD Drivers Breaking RX 6000 Series GPU's?!
First, the update on the overheating RX 7000 series of GPU’s. Let's break it down quick. First, The reference models for the 7900 series specifically the XTX model had a significant amount of cards with defective vapor chambers. This defect causes something called Vapor chamber dry-out which prevents the vapor inside to turn back into water and that caused the GPU’s to throttle because of the high temperatures and basically, you were losing performance.
Obviously, AMD is definitely trying to downplay this, but at least, they vowed to fix it. I just wish they were a little more honest, because it was not a small performance delta, a lot of people said they lost about 20% in terms of performance, and that would make it slower than a last-gen gpu in some workloads, and saying it was a small batch… Ehh. I mean the amounts of customers who spoke up was pretty big. So there's that for the 7900 series. If you have one, contact AMD, and get them to send you a replacement.
So what about the other issues AMD is having? Well, there's a repair shop in Germany that saw a pretty wild trend with last gen gpu’s. Specifically, the RX 6800 and 6900 series. And this one is kind of wild! The shop is called Krisfix and the owner made a video with a reference model 6800 XT. According to him, the card was never opened before and essentially the GPU die is toast. Everything short circuits.
Now here’s where things take quite a turn. He services a lot of GPU’s, its one of his specialties, and something like a GPU die dying isn't usually the main issue. It happens, but not too often. He said about 1 out of 10. But in the last 3 weeks, he received 61 cards to repair. Specifically, Navi 21 gpu’s. So 6800 and 6900 series. Out of those 61 GPU’s, 48 of them had the same short circuits, so the GPU die was toast. Now when someone sends him a gpu for repair, he always asks, what games they play, what software they use, and what drivers.

This Keyboard Has a Springy PCB?! - Dareu A81 Review
Here are the Links ( Not affiliate links )

I have way too many mechanical keyboards. I even have some membrane ones like this REDragon or Cynosa that I reviewed a while back. So why did I accept to review 2 new ones sent over by Dareu ? Well, because one of those keyboards looks stunning, and the other might be the best one for my needs!. So let's take a look at This one first, on your boot sequence. ( Throw box ) Don't worry it was empty.
So Dareu? You might know the brand, or you might not. Personally, it's not my first time using their products. In fact, my main mouse for the last 9 months has been their EM901. You can tell I use it because.. Well, you just have to look at it. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago, they sent me their A81 and A98 mechanical keyboards for testing and I gotta say, these are pretty impressive offerings, especially for the price. Let’s start with the A81, I'll get to the A98 another day. .
Now the A81 is definitely a statement piece. It comes in white with orange and grey accents, or in this beautiful smoked transparent color. It's a 75% keyboard, and it doesn't want you to forget about it. The spacebar has a cool graphic reminding you that, and the back has this sort of huge decal that says it again. The transparency on the case itself is kind of frosted, while the keycaps are fully transparent with a dark tint on them. Speaking of keycaps, these use an SA or KAT profile meaning the keycaps are more rounded and bubbly, not sure if it's one of the other though. I had never used one of these before, and its crazy how much it centers your finger on the keys. Plus, it gives you nice retro vibe.

AMD Engineer Responds to 7900 XTX 110c Issue!
Let’s get started with AMD! It looks like the whole Junction temperature issue for the rx 7900 series of gpu’s is still evolving. For those who didnt know, the 7900 XTX or even XT for that matter, has a bit of a cooler issues. Specifically , we’re talking about the reference designs, so those that look like this.
So whats the problem ? Well, a lot of people who owns these cards have been reporting really high hot spot temperatures. We’re talking 110 degrees celsius, which is the max the card can hit before starting to throttle. And while AMD said that its within spec, the high temperatures do affect the gaming performance, since the card has to downclock to keep itself cool. AMD even refused warranty service to some customers who were in that situation.
So whats new ? Well, and AMD representative stuck his neck out to respond to the situation on reddit. He says that the company is aware of thes hotspot issue being reported and they’re investigating / correlating steps to reproduce the issue. They’re also collecting serial numbers to see if this issue might be specific to a certain batch of cards. He says that it looks like there were 2 or 3 specific batches, or signatures as he calls them.
He also added that if its a mechanical issue, then RMA your card, I’d say that would only apply if your GPU was outright borked, or if a fan wasnt spinning or something like that. Also, they’re looking for solutions in firmware? Which… I dont know how I feel about that. All I could see that doing would be locking down the boost frequency for better temps, which would mean less auto OC boosting.

Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti Specs LEAKED?!
Nvidia’s whole RTX 4000 series seems to be leaking like a sieve. Last week we got confirmation that the 4070 Ti was just the 4080 12GB, but rebadged, BTW, that got confirmed again by PNY, this time with clock speeds and stuff, Then at the end of last week we got the specs of the RTX 4070 which dont look that great, and now we got the specs for the potential RTX 4060 ti!
This leak comes from leaker extraordinaire kopite7kimi over on Twitter and here it is. It would use the AD106 chip which is one step down from the AD104 that the 4070 and 4070 ti use, We would get 34 SMs for a total of 4352 Cuda cores and it would have a meager, at least by today’s standards, 8GB of GDDR6 non X. The memory, by the way, would run at 18Gbps. All of that on a TDP of 220 watts while still using the new 16-pin PCI-E gen 5 connector. Kopite also adds that the reference PCB would be very short, which is always appreciated.
Lets get started with Intel, It looks like the company is kind of going back on its word when it comes to their ARC series of gpu’s. Back when they started to reveal more information about the future of ARC, we were told that with Alchemist, the current generation, we would see a more mid-level lineup for the chips. I mean technically, they said performance, but ill give them the benefit of the doubt here. We were supposed to get mid-level performance. And we did! The A770 isnt a bad GPU by any measure, it was late, but it still made it to the party.
For Battlemage though, these are the next generation of chips, we were supposed to get a lineup from entry-level to enthusiast-class gpu’s, and then for celestial, it would go up to ultra enthusiasts. Now though, it looks like intel, or rather Raja koduri, are changing their tune.

Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Specs Revealed! Intel Raptor Lake Refresh in 2023!
Lets get started with intel! So, a couple videos ago, I took some rumors here and there that were floating about intel’s plan for 2023. Those plans were that intel Might release a refresh of their current Raptor lake CPU’s to compete with AMD’s Ryzen 7000 CPU’s with 3D V cache. This would mean that for the first time, Intel would have a Pseudo 3rd generation for a motherboard platform.
A leak just popped up of an alleged roadmap for intels next year. Here it is and What do you know! Here's Q3 of 2023, and we have raptor lake refreshes across the board! Nice. Going back to the difference that we would see in the refresh though, you might think that 100 to 200 megahertz isnt a lot to call it a refresh. Well, let's take a look at the other piece of news.
Moving on , lets talk Nvidia. After the specs leaked this week for the RTX 4070 Ti, spoiler alert, its the exact same as the unlaunched RTX 4080 12gb, but anyways, after that, we now have the specs for the RTX 4070, and its… not great.
This information comes from leaker extraordinaire Kopite 7 Kimi, and according to his sources, this GPU will keep a lot of the same specs as the 4070 ti. Same memory bus width at 192 bit, Same 12GB of gddr6X running at 21gbps.and same AD104 die. Just a cut down version.
How cut down? Well, we’re looking at 46SM’s for the 4070 compared to 60SM’s for the 4070 ti. This means that the 4070 would have 5888 Cuda cores compared to the 7680 on the Ti model. So it was cut down by about 23%. And given that the memory sub-system is the same, we should expect about the same decrease in performance.

AMD’s RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX Might Have Low Stock!
Let's get started with AMD, Recently, the 7000 series has been in the news quite a bit. AMD themselves released a couple of benchmarks for the pair of 7900 series, and more recently a Geekbench leak for the GPUs also popped up. On that Geekbench leak btw, The 7900 XTX, so the higher-end model did pretty well. In the Vulkan score of the benchmark, it scored almost 180 thousand points. That beats the RTX 4080 by quite a lot since it scores about 155 thousand points. AMD is 15% faster here. There was also an open CL score, but this time it got beat by about 14% by the rtx 4080.
Given that the Vulkan API is mostly for games, that’s great news for gamers. It is likely to be moderately faster than a GPU that costs 20% more. Open CL though is more targeted towards compute stuff like simulation, 3D modeling, and some content creation apps, so the 7000 series might not be the greatest for these things, keep in mind though that this was run on early drivers, so who knows, a little optimization from AMD might make a big difference here.
So yeah, with these preliminary results, the 7900 series looks like it's a better buy for gamers compared to the 4080… that’s if you’re able to buy it. You see, recent rumors have been hinting at a pretty limited supply of GPUs… A couple of weeks ago, we heard that cards from 3rd party manufacturers could be delayed by one or 2 weeks. I know you might say it's debunked because computerbase said that at least 2 manufacturers confirmed launch day GPUs, but apparently, those are likely to still be reference models. Just not made by AMD.
What’s more concerning is the recent report from igorslab. According to his sources in hong kong and Taiwan, they are still having vBios and driver issues. Driver issues are not a huge deal. Bios on the other hand? Well, that needs to be figured out before the card actually ships. Apparently, it has to do with memory leaks that make the GPU freeze.

Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti Release Date LEAKED!
Let's get started with Nvidia, after the flippity floppity launch that was the launch of the RTX 4000 series, it looks like we’re about a month away from actually seeing all of the products announced to be released.
So first we hard the RTX 4090, which launched with ok acclaim. then more recently the RTX 4080 16 GB, which is a terrible value for your money. Then the UN-launching of the RTX 4080 12 GB, and now, apparently, we’re going to see the RTX 4070 ti in about a month.
How do we know that it's a 4070 ti and not a 4070, 4070 super, or RTX 4080 redux? Well, gigabyte decided to do their EEC filings a little early and we got their whole lineup of 4070 ti right there. There are going to be 8 different models, notably the 2 high-end ones, the Aorus master and Aorus elite. And their Aero, Gaming, and eagle versions with their OC variants.
This also confirms the 12GB of GDDR6X memory. CES’s opening day is on January 5th, when most of the announcements are going to be, and that’s when the RTX 4070 ti would be announced. At least, that’s according to an Italian retailer who jumped the gun on a listing. Obviously, this is likely a pre-order now situation that would happen right after the announcement. Price wise though, there's been some pretty wild rumors.
As reported by my drivers, the word in the board channels is that the RTX 4080 would get a price cut in mid-December. While they say that the price cut is to be more competitive against the RX 7900 series from AMD, they also added that Nvidia isn’t doing it because they’re afraid of RDNA 3, but rather to improve the price-to-performance ratio. As for the 4070 ti, I guess it will depend on how much the 4080’s price might drop. If it does drop I mean. What are your thoughts on pricing? Do you think the 4080 will drop in price? And if it does, how much? 100? 200?, let me know down below.

GPU Prices Might Go Up by A LOT!
Well, folks, we got some possible bad news here. It looks like GPU prices might go up! I mean it's hard to say that with a straight face given the price of the RTX 4000 and RX 7000 series of GPUs, but this also applies to the last couple of generations of gpu’s that are still selling.
That’s because back in the trump era, GPUs were subject to tariffs. So there were extra import duties for and I quote : "printed circuit assemblies, constituting unfinished logic boards,". And GPU’s were part of it. What this meant was a 25% tax. Pretty bad.
In late 2021, After a lot of pushback from companies like Nvidia, HP, Zotac, and others, the Biden administration gave a Tariff exemption to GPUs and other things that fell into a specific category. Great! The problem... Well, those tariff exemptions dont last forever. And this specific one is going to expire on December 31’rst of 2022.
With the insane prices of new tech, that’s not good. Honestly, I'm a little bit glad that we got the new stuff this year because the last-gen prices have gone WAY down. At least for AMD’s lineup. If you weren't able to get a GPU during black Friday, you can maybe wait until Boxing day or another holiday sale. But if those tariffs do expire without renewal, it wont take long before the stock in your country run out and you’re hit with a massive price hike.

Intel's Raptor Lake Might Get a REFRESH in 2023!
Let's get started with intel. The blue team is notorious for the short lifetime of their CPU platforms. The CPUs are usually only compatible with 2 generations of motherboards, and after that, you need to upgrade. With amd for example, they’ve kept releasing CPUs for the AM4 platform for the last 6 years. Seriously, AM4 came out before Ryzen was a thing.
Anyways, why am I talking about this? Well, while we might not get a FULL new generation on intel’s LGA1700, a couple of things point to a refresh of the raptor lake architecture sometimes next year. First, the obvious one, the rumors.
A couple of weeks ago, ECSM, a quite reputable leaker, I mean whoever they are, they had access to raptor lake LONG before release, but anyways, on November 13th they posted Billi Billi saying that 2023 will be a battle of Raptor lake vs zen 4. In the first half of the year, we’ll see the 13900KS and Zen 4 X3d. The 13900KS has been a thing we’ve known about for a while now, and it's not the refresh I'm talking about. Lower, he then says that in mid to late Q3, that’s august and September, toothpaste will have Raptor Lake refresh.
Ok I dont know where these people are getting these translations, but properly translated, it says “ in the middle and late Q3 of 2023, there will be a Raptor lake Refresh, the frequency will be higher by 0.1G~0.2G, and the number of cores will remain the same.
As for ARL and Zen 5, that is a matter of 2024 H2.”

RTX 4000 vs RX 7900 Series : Is History Going to Repeat Itself?
Let's get started with Nvidia. Do you remember what Jensen said a couple of months ago? I mean when PCWorld asked him if chip prices would go back down now that crypto has crashed, and all he had to say was “ Moore’s Law is dead.” and “ The idea that a chip is going to go down in price is a story of the past,”.
And then he went on to announce the RTX 40 series, where an 80 class card, the 4080, is now selling for 1200 bucks instead of the consistent 6 to 700 dollars we were used to see. Yeah, that pissed a lot of people off. Especially since the performance gains on that 80 card, were about the same as the price increase. But nothing brings me joy like a little bit of karma.
Apparently, the 4080 is selling really poorly compared to the RTX 4090. In fact, the 4090 outsells the 4080 by nearly 3 and a half times. I mean a lot of stores have stock in Canada, the US, the UK, China, and even Germany, and that’s despite NVidia shipping out less than 4 times the amount of 4080s compared to the 4090. Like there were 130 000 4090’s shipped out at launch compared to 30 000 for the 4080, and it still can't sell. And it's the holiday season!
And that tells me 2 things. First, there's always going to be people for who the money is no object and all they want is to go fast. I have a friend like that who watches my video, you know who you are. And the second thing is a message to you “ you can do it. We can do it . We are doing it. “ its clear that gamers are finally talking with their wallet. And I suspect that once the RX 7900 series from AMD launches, that’s when we’ll see Nvidia’s response.

THREE New AMD Ryzen 7000 BUDGET CPU’s Coming SOON?!
Let's get started with AMD, a couple of videos ago, I talked about their new platform, AM5, and how, unfortunately, it's not the best value for the money if you’re looking to purchase a brand-new pc for gaming. Instead, I said that intel’s platform or going back a generation for AMD was a better choice simply because the cost of entry was way lower without sacrificing performance.
But the main problem with the AM5 platform isn't the CPUs, or the fact that it uses DDR5. It’s just that the motherboards are way too expensive. If you go for the cheapest one, it's this gigabyte DS3H model at 160$. But, it's M-ATX. If you want an ATX board for more PCIe slots, extra Nvme storage, or whatever else, the price jumps to 200$ instantly. With both last gen AMD and Intel, you can find boards for under 100$. In the case of last gen AMD CPUs, way lower than 100.
Anyways, so why am I bringing this up? Well, a new leak is going around that if true, would drop the price of entry by quite a lot! This information comes from Twitter leaker “Chilled “ dog and it says that AMD will release 3 new non-X sku’s. The Ryzen 5 7600, ryzen 7 7700 and ryzen 9 7900. As is, the main difference between these non-X models and their X counterpart is the clock speeds and also likely the TDPs. The 7600 and 7700 would probably go from 105 watts down to 65, and the Ryzen 9 models would go from a TDP of 170 watts down to 105. I'm just speculating here though.

Is the RX 7900 XTX the Best Bang for the Buck AMD Card?!
Let's get started with AMD. Yesterday, the company lifted the embargo on a huge presentation that details their RX 7900 series of GPUs. It talks about their engineering philosophy, the upcoming FSR 2.2, and they even compare them to the RTX 4080… which isn't out at the making of this video. It's coming out tomorrow though. Specifically, they focused on things that Nvidia kind of fumbled on. Things like how the 4080 is still rocking the good old Displayport 1.4a while AMD’s GPUs are on the newer better DP 2.1. Seriously though on a side note, that was pretty stupid from Nvidia in my opinion, but they also brought up how their GPUs are still rocking a USB C port, and how much more Vram they have, thought to be fair Sneaky AMD, GDDR6, is not GDDR6X which is what Nvidia uses, and it should be mentioned here since it has WAY higher bandwidth.
Anyways, that’s not why you’re here, AMD also shared some slides with some juicy, benchmarks. Not against the 4080, obviously, but comparing their new lineup, to the old lineup. And something pretty interesting popped up here. Let's take a look. Now obviously, these are cherry-picked benchmarks from AMD but since they’re comparing their own GPU's to the last gen, it's still partially valid. Anyways, we’d have to wait a month before we get actual performance numbers, so I thought I'd have some fun with these here.
So! Rasterized performance at 4k max settings. We have 4 benchmarks here, Resident Evil 8, COD modern warfare 2, cyberpunk, and watch dog: legion. From left to right compared to the best of the last generation, the RX 7900 XT has a boost of 26%, and the XTX dwarfs this with an increase of 53% over the last gen. Pretty big move.

Is This What AMD’s FSR 3.0 Will Look Like ?!
Let's get started with Nvidia… or intel? could be AMD too, Anyways. One of the big new features of the RTX 4000 series of GPUs is, of course, DLSS3. The third generation of DLSS offers what Nvidia likes to call “ Frame generation” or fake frames as we like to call them.
So far, Nvidia has only shown it running with the full set of DLSS features, so you got the O.G DLSS 2 which is Deep learning super sampling, and then you have frame generation on top of it. I'm going to call the frame generation part of DLSS DLFG.
Of course, you can disable the OG dlss2, and have DLFG ON without having the supersampling. Now, why am I talking about this?
Well, because it seems like Nvidia hasn’t locked DLFG down as hard as we thought. Igorslab recently discovered and tested DLSS 3’s frame generation, but instead of upscaling the image with DLSS 2, he tested it with AMD’s technology, FSR 2, and Intel’s tech XESS.
That’s because all of these upscaling solutions are available in one game. Spiderman miles morales. So, this is a bit like a preview of what FSR 3.0 could look like. So, what did he find? Well, when we’re talking about image quality with DLFG, it looks the best with DLSS for the upscale, second best is AMD as a close second, it's just a little bit blocky, and XESS is last, being a little fuzzier. Keep in mind that when looking at the overall image, and in motion, you’d be hard-pressed to see the difference.

DON’T BUY AMD’s 7600X For a Budget Gaming Build!
In this video, we'll show you why you shouldn't buy AMD's 7600X for a budget gaming build! The 7600X is a great CPU, but it's not the best option for a budget gaming build. We'll explain why the 5600x, 13600k, and 7600x are better choices for a budget gaming build.
If you're looking to build a gaming PC for under $1,000, then be sure to check out this video! We'll show you how to choose the best budget gaming PC build based on your needs and preferences. We also include a comparison between the 7600X and the other budget gaming options!
This is a video for a new Modern BUDGET Gaming build. If you’re going to argue about performance in something else than gaming, it's not for you. - Recently, AMD unveiled something pretty massive, and no I'm not talking about their GPUs. They actually slashed the price of their last gen CPUs. Are they worth it? Well, that’s what we’re talking about, on your boot sequence.
Before we get into the price cut, let's talk about why this is important. Both AMD and Intel released their next generation of CPUs. The Intel Raptor lake 13th generation and the AMD 7000 series.
And while their pricing is about right, Intel starts at 309 US dollars while AMD starts at 299, well their price of entry is not as friendly as you might think. Expensive new chipsets, high-performance ddr5 memory, and the possible upgrades needed to the power supply make it harder and harder to make a “Budget “ build.
And that’s why this AMD price cut is so important. So about that price cut, how much did AMD discount the Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 series?
Well, the 5950X drops from 799 to 549, a good 250$ off. The 5900X, from 549 to 349... Not going to lie, that’s a heavy discount. The 5800X goes from 449 to 249, and the 5600X goes from 299 down to 159. And the star of today’s show! The 5800X3d goes from 449 to 329.

Can AMD's 7900 XTX REALLY run at 3GHz ?!
Let's get started with AMD. Now, their RX 7000 series of GPUs has finally made its debut. We have the 7900 XTX ,and the 7900 XT, both of which look like pretty good contenders to Nvidia’s RTX 4080 16gb. Yes, im leaving the 4090 out of here because AMD said it themselves.. Or at least frank Azor from the company said it. * PLAY CLIP*
Anyways, what I want to talk about is a leak citing that this GPU would hit 3Ghz. Obviously, When we look at the official specs from AMD, this was debunked. The 7900 XTX has decoupled clocks but neither hits 3Ghz. The shader clock is up to 2.3 GHz while the front end runs at 2.5 GHz. The 7900 XT on the other hand is obviously going to be slower. So no 3Ghz GPU’s for AMD ?
Well, I wouldn't say that just yet. First of all, the advertised clocks are very often the most generalized case scenario for a given chip. With Nvidia, they have GPUBoost tech, which, if the card is cool enough, and has power available,it will boost past the rated boost clock.
AMD doesn't have a name for it, but if you give it the power and temperature, the RX 6000 series will do the same. A 6900 XT is rated for a boost clock of up to 2250mhz and a game clock of 2015Mhz. When you’re gaming though, it can reach up to 2520Mhz. A heck of a lot higher than its game clock. And I'm sure we’ll see this same behavior with RDNA 3 GPUs.
