This video covers how your habits affect your life and what you can do to change them. Most of what we do on a day to day basis is done through our habits rather than personal decisions.
Habits can be changed or replaced, but we have to actively do so which requires self-discipline and willpower. Whether you want to stop procrastinating, eat less junk food, or exercise more, it all comes down to making a habit out of it.
Changing habits in one area of your life can also spill over to other aspects such as exercising more and increasing productivity at work or saving more money. The same thing happens even when you simply make your bed every day.

This video covers my experience in my first engineering job out of college. As I mention in the video, this does not represent all jobs, but should give you an idea of what mine was like.
At my job I was mostly on the computer but did spend a good amount of time in a lab doing testing. My department worked on satellite communication devices and I helped with making sure everything met specifications and the tests were run properly.
A lot of the beginning work was confusing to me but I got the hang of it over time. But I did learn very quickly that school gives you a foundation for what you need to know as an engineer, but you don't become an expert in anything.

Lab reports are a huge part of the engineering curriculum (as well as many science majors that have labs). You will likely do a lot of them throughout your college career and in this video I outline some things you can expect.
Lab reports will differ for everyone but in general you can expect many similarities such as making plots and tables, or explaining the purpose of the lab and including equipment that you used.
You may not enjoy doing lab reports in college, but they are important because many engineers have to write technical documents in their career in a very similar way to a lab report. In the video I outline some of things I had to do in my first job as an engineer in terms of technical documents and why I had to write them.
â–ºExample Lab Reports
Controls Class Lab Report: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BLNPp_Agy7LUmeu9t_4zJz3lgTnSmvttTQkH43aDLrg/edit?usp=sharing
Wireless Communications Lab Report: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1X5UTJs6jQsEtKJHM3xXkcdSOICMj7Ew-jZcoLhsyS-0/edit?usp=sharing
Digital Signal Processing Lab Report: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KTlWhnP6fNOWUMjfvsye5yfSxznzTygf_GxPevZfI44/edit?usp=sharing
*Note that the digital signal processing report is very long, but that's because we had to include all of the code that we wrote which took up a lot of room. These were also all labs from my 3rd and 4th year.

This video covers my experience as an engineering intern. During this internship I had a summer long project that consisted of making a prototype of a handheld printer.
My job was at a cubicle and I did work full time (from 9-5). Most of the work also was done on the computer which included gathering data and programming various hardware devices. The internship was paid ($23.22 per hour) but there were no benefits or anything like that.
Overall it was a good experience and I learned a lot of valuable skills. Getting an internship is one of the best ways to set yourself up for a guaranteed full time job after college.

In this video I discuss my personal starting salary as an engineer right out of college as well as my expenses. Of course these numbers are unique to me and will different a lot from person to person and especially country to country.
When you looking at your savings it's important to not think you can afford spending that much every month on extra expenses. Especially for those in their 20's, it's important you save up for the likely possibility of buying a house and starting a family down the road.
My Starting Salary: $76,560/year
Salary after Taxes/401k: $46,335/year ($3861.25/month)
Expenses: $2963/month
Savings: $900/month
Specifics from above numbers are listed in the video.

This video will cover a summary of the book 'So Good they Can't Ignore You'. When it comes to finding a career we are often told to follow our passion. Now this isn't completely wrong, but there is more we should look into.
Many entry level jobs don't offer many opportunities to be creative and truly do what you want to. This causes people to question whether they are in the right job or career which is a problem. Instead you should be working to develop your career capital and gain skills that make you a desirable employee. There are exceptions to this rule, but overall as you gain these skills you will be able to obtain much better job positions.

This video covers a scientific discovery that you can learn almost anything that anyone else can.
A question that psychologists have looked for answers to is whether innate ability causes success or is it hard work. Could anyone become the next Einstein through extreme dedication? Well we don't actually know this. But through years of study, they've discovered that if you don't account for people are extreme sides of the spectrum, then pretty much what someone can learn, anyone else can also learn.
Whether you are entering college or trying to learn to play the guitar, your innate abilities are not a strong indicator of how successful you'll be. They've found that through strong deliberate practice and pushing through weak points, you can achieve much more than most others.

This video will cover how to get into space research (such as astrophysics or astronomy) and some research that is going on.
For those looking into space related majors, your best options are astronomy and astrophysics. However, as an undergrad you will usually just start as a physics major then pick a more specific discipline in grad school.
You also will need to get a PhD if you want to do work in astrophysics or astronomy. There really aren't jobs in these fields for those with just bachelor's degrees.
Although the field is very competitive, if you have a true interest for the subject, most people will tell you to pursue it. Even if you don't land a job that you want, astrophysicists and astronomers can find work in other fields such as finance, engineering, software development, teaching, and more.

This video covers a summary of the book "how to excel at math and science." Whether you are a high school student struggling with math and science, or a college student studying engineering, math, physics, etc and are doing well, the techniques taught are meant for you.
Becoming strong in math and science is not something that happens over night. You need to consistently be practicing and studying while using the tips talked about in the book.
Two modes of thinking to remember include focused mode and diffuse mode thinking. These are where you are focused intensely on a problem, then when you let your mind wander and are more relaxed respectively. In order to excel in subjects that especially involve creativity, you need to participate in both forms of thinking.
Some tips to help avoid procrastination include trying the Pomodoro technique, focusing on the process over the product, do the most disliked jobs first, and use mental contrasting. Remember you can't learn math and science on a deep level in one night. It's important you focus on learning a little everyday and don't put off homework until the last minute because your brain won't be able to learn absorb all the material on an optimal level.

This video be in less depth than the previous but will cover a wider range of topics and research in artificial intelligence.
Startups in artificial intelligence are becoming more and more popular (over 100 just in healthcare) and they are all working on a variety of projects.
In this video I talk about large companies like google, facebook, and IBM and what projects they are working on in machine learning and other aspects of artificial intelligence.
One of the biggest breakthroughs in machine learning was when AlphaGo beat the best human go player in the world 4 out of 5 games. AlphaGo is a project that was programmed simply to learn, it wasn't given any strategy or told what to do. This win showed that a computer could learn how to beat a human in the most complex game out there.
While a lot of this may seem really interesting, there is a lot of fear around A.I. as well in terms of what the future holds and where A.I. will go.

This video covers artificial intelligence, research being done in the field, what major to pick to get started, and a more detailed description on how machine learning works.
Artificial intelligence is an increasingly fast growing field with more and more innovations coming up all the time. You can see artificial intelligence being used in finance, gaming, healthcare, self driving cars, email spam filtering, and much more.
One of the big fields of artificial intelligence is machine learning. Machine learning is making software that is able to learn from past experiences. One example of this is AlphaGo which is an A.I. project made by deepmind that was able to beat the best go player in the world, in a game of go. AlphaGo wasn't programmed with strategies though, it was just programmed to learn.
Deep learning is often done through the use of neural networks which I talk about in this video using a simple example.

Morning routines can be a very useful tool to prime yourself for a productive and efficient day.
This video will go over 3 reasons you should consider incorporating a morning routine into your day and will give you some things that have a proven track record of success for producing a killer morning.
What they don't tell you is morning routines aren't some magic spell that will immediately make you more productive. After you go through your morning sequence you still need to direct your attention at staying productive, but a morning routine can make this easier.
The morning routine is a useful tool to build consistency and establish a constant in your day. People with morning routines have an increased self-esteem and are generally happier because consistent positive choices improve happiness and a morning routine helps support this.
Some of the greatest entrepreneurs have morning routines however, this does not mean you should copy theirs.
Use some of the suggestions given in this video, and see what works best for you.
