The fungus thrives in warm, moist environments and can quickly spread from person to person in shared public spaces such as locker rooms and showers.
Some of the risk factors that can increase the likelihood of developing toenail fungus include:
Age, Gender, Genetics & most importantly Health conditions.
Trauma: Injuries to the toenail or nail bed can increase the risk of developing toenail fungus.
There are several types of toenail fungus, including:
Distal subungual onychomycosis: This is the most common type of toenail fungus and affects the nail bed and underside of the nail.
White superficial onychomycosis: This type of toenail fungus affects the surface of the nail, causing white patches or streaks.
Proximal subungual onychomycosis: This type of toenail fungus affects the base of the nail, near the cuticle.
Total dystrophic onychomycosis: This type of toenail fungus causes the nail to thicken and separate from the nail bed, eventually falling off.

Skin tag and plantar wart removal with garlic, iodine, apple cider vinegar, and banana peel are all popular home remedies. However, it's important to note that there is limited scientific evidence to support their effectiveness, and there is a risk of skin irritation or allergic reaction.
Here is a brief overview of each of these home remedies:
Garlic: Garlic contains compounds that may have antiviral and antimicrobial properties, and some people use it as a home remedy for skin tags and warts. To use garlic for skin tag or wart removal, it's typically recommended to crush a garlic clove and apply it to the affected area, securing it in place with a bandage or tape. This can be left on for several hours or overnight, and repeated daily until the skin tag or wart disappears.
Iodine: Iodine is a topical antiseptic that is sometimes used as a home remedy for warts. To use iodine for wart removal, it's typically recommended to apply a small amount of iodine to the affected area using a cotton swab or pad. This can be repeated once or twice per day until the wart disappears.
Apple cider vinegar: As mentioned earlier, apple cider vinegar is a popular home remedy for a variety of skin conditions, including warts and skin tags. To use apple cider vinegar for wart or skin tag removal, it's typically recommended to soak a cotton ball or pad in apple cider vinegar and apply it to the affected area, securing it in place with a bandage or tape. This can be left on for several hours or overnight, and repeated daily until the wart or skin tag disappears.
Banana peel: Banana peel is another popular home remedy for skin tags and warts. To use a banana peel for skin tag or wart removal, it's typically recommended to cut a small piece of banana peel and place it over the affected area, with the inside of the peel facing the skin. The peel can be secured in place with a bandage or tape and left on for several hours or overnight. This can be repeated daily until the skin tag or wart disappears.

Skin tags are small, harmless growths of skin that typically occur in areas where the skin rubs against itself or clothing, such as the neck, armpits, and groin area. While skin tags are generally harmless and do not require treatment, they can be removed for cosmetic reasons or if they become irritated.
There are several methods for removing skin tags, including:
Cutting: A healthcare professional can cut off the skin tag with a scalpel or scissors.
Freezing: This is also known as cryotherapy, and involves freezing the skin tag with liquid nitrogen, causing it to fall off.
Burning: This is also known as electrocautery, and involves burning off the skin tag with a small electrical current.
Ligation: This involves tying off the base of the skin tag with a small string or suture, cutting off the blood supply and causing it to fall off.
Over-the-counter products: There are also over-the-counter products, such as skin tag removal creams, that claim to remove skin tags. However, it's important to use caution when using these products, as they may cause skin irritation or scarring.
It's important to note that while these methods can be effective for removing skin tags, they should always be performed by a healthcare professional to reduce the risk of complications.

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer, and it's important to catch it early to increase the chances of successful treatment. There are three main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.
Early signs of skin cancer can include:
Changes in the appearance of moles or other spots on the skin, such as changes in size, shape, color, or texture.
Sores that do not heal, or that heal and then come back.
Red, scaly patches or raised bumps that may itch or bleed.
Rough or scaly patches on the lips or ears.
New growths on the skin that are not easily explained.
If you notice any of these signs, it's important to see a dermatologist or healthcare professional as soon as possible for evaluation and possible biopsy. If skin cancer is diagnosed, treatment options may include:
Surgical removal: This involves cutting out the cancerous tissue and surrounding margin of healthy skin.
Radiation therapy: This uses high-energy radiation to kill cancer cells.
Topical medications: These are applied to the skin to kill cancer cells.
Cryotherapy: This involves freezing the cancer cells with liquid nitrogen.
Mohs surgery: This is a specialized surgical procedure that removes the cancerous tissue layer by layer until no more cancer cells are found.
Prevention is the best approach to skin cancer. You can reduce your risk of developing skin cancer by protecting your skin from the sun by wearing protective clothing, using sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, seeking shade, and avoiding tanning beds. Additionally, regular skin checks and prompt evaluation of any suspicious spots can help detect skin cancer early when it's most treatable.

What Does Skin Cancer Look Like? [Symptoms, Pictures, Types]
🦶We review skin cancer symptoms, pictures and types: These are Melanoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma & Basal Cell Carcinoma🦶
Skin cancer is a condition in which the cells in the skin grow abnormally and uncontrollably, leading to the formation of a cancerous growth. There are several different types of skin cancer, but the most common types are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Here is some information on the appearance, symptoms, and types of skin cancer:
Basal Cell Carcinoma:
Appearance: Raised, shiny, and pink or red-colored growths that may have a pearly or waxy appearance. They may have visible blood vessels on the surface, and may bleed or develop a crusty surface.
Symptoms: Usually painless, but may be itchy, may bleed easily, and may not heal. They may grow slowly over time and can spread to nearby tissues if left untreated.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma:
Appearance: Firm, raised growths or sores that may have a scaly or crusty appearance. They may be pink or red-colored, and may have an ulcerated or bleeding surface.
Symptoms: Usually painless, but may be itchy, may bleed easily, and may not heal. They may grow rapidly and can spread to nearby tissues if left untreated.
Melanoma:
Appearance: Irregularly shaped moles or growths that may be black, brown, or multicolored. They may be flat or raised, and may have an uneven or jagged border. They may also have different shades of color, or a dark spot in the center.
Symptoms: They may itch or bleed, and may change in size, shape, or color over time. They can spread quickly to other parts of the body, making early detection and treatment important.
Other symptoms that may indicate skin cancer include persistent itchiness, pain, or tenderness in a specific area of the skin, as well as the appearance of new growths or changes in existing ones.
It is important to regularly check your skin for any new or changing growths, and to seek medical attention if you notice anything unusual. Early detection and treatment of skin cancer can increase the chances of successful treatment and reduce the risk of complications.

Skin tags, also known as acrochordons, are small, soft, and harmless growths on the skin. The exact cause of skin tags is not fully understood, but some of the factors that may contribute to their development include:
Friction: Skin tags may form in areas where the skin rubs against clothing or other skin, such as the neck, armpits, groin, and eyelids.
Age: Skin tags are more common in middle-aged and older adults.
Genetics: Skin tags may run in families, suggesting that there may be a genetic component to their development.
Hormones: Skin tags may develop during pregnancy or in people with certain hormonal imbalances.
Obesity: Skin tags may be more common in people who are overweight or obese.
Medical conditions: Skin tags may be associated with certain medical conditions, such as diabetes and the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.
While skin tags are generally harmless and do not require treatment, if you have a skin tag that is causing discomfort or is in a highly visible area, you may want to consider having it removed by a healthcare professional.

What is Alpha Lipoic Acid?
Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is a type of antioxidant that is naturally produced in the body. It is also available as a supplement and is sometimes used as a complementary treatment for various health conditions. Here are some of the potential benefits of alpha-lipoic acid:
Antioxidant Protection: Alpha-lipoic acid is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the body against damage from harmful molecules called free radicals. It is unique in that it can work both inside and outside of cells.
Blood Sugar Control: Alpha-lipoic acid may help to improve blood sugar control in people with type 2 diabetes. It may also help to reduce insulin resistance and lower the risk of complications associated with diabetes.
Nerve Function: Alpha-lipoic acid may help to improve nerve function and reduce symptoms of nerve damage, such as numbness, tingling, and burning sensations.
Cognitive Function: Some studies have suggested that alpha-lipoic acid may help to improve cognitive function and reduce the risk of cognitive decline in older adults.
Skin Health: Alpha-lipoic acid may help to protect the skin against damage from UV radiation and other environmental factors. It may also help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Weight Loss: Alpha-lipoic acid may help to promote weight loss by increasing metabolism and reducing appetite.
While alpha-lipoic acid is generally considered safe, it can cause side effects in some people, such as nausea, vomiting, and skin rash. It can also interact with certain medications, so it's always a good idea to speak with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplements.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency Symptoms [Benefits, Best Foods & How Much]
🦶Do you have a Vitamin B12 Deficiency? We review the vitamin b12 dosage for adults, the benefits of vitamin b12, vitamin b12 injections & more!🦶
Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system, the formation of red blood cells, and the metabolism of amino acids and fatty acids. It is also involved in the production of DNA and RNA.
Deficiency Symptoms:
A deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to a range of health problems, including anemia, nerve damage, and cognitive decline. Symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency may include fatigue, weakness, numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, difficulty walking, and memory problems.
Benefits:
Vitamin B12 plays an important role in the body, and getting enough of this vitamin is essential for overall health. Some of the potential benefits of vitamin B12 include improved brain function, increased energy, better heart health, and improved mood.
Foods:
Vitamin B12 is primarily found in animal-derived foods, such as meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and dairy products. Some foods are also fortified with vitamin B12, including some breakfast cereals, plant-based milk alternatives, and nutritional yeast. Vegetarians and vegans may need to supplement their diets with vitamin B12 or consume foods fortified with the vitamin, as plant-based foods generally do not provide adequate amounts of this nutrient.
Side Effects:
Vitamin B12 supplements are generally safe when taken in recommended doses. However, high doses of vitamin B12 can cause side effects, such as headache, nausea, diarrhea, and skin rash.
Dosage:
The recommended daily intake of vitamin B12 varies depending on age and gender. The National Institutes of Health recommends the following daily intake of vitamin B12 for different age groups:
Infants up to 6 months: 0.4 mcg
Infants 7-12 months: 0.5 mcg
Children 1-3 years: 0.9 mcg
Children 4-8 years: 1.2 mcg
Children 9-13 years: 1.8 mcg
Adolescents 14-18 years: 2.4 mcg
Adults: 2.4 mcg
Pregnant women: 2.6 mcg
Breastfeeding women: 2.8 mcg
People with vitamin B12 deficiency may need higher doses of vitamin B12 supplements, as directed by their healthcare provider. It's important to speak with a healthcare provider or a registered dietitian if you have concerns about your vitamin B12 status or need help developing a nutrition plan that meets your individual needs.

Prebiotics Vs. Probiotics [Best Prebiotic & Probiotic Foods]
🦶Prebiotics and probiotics are essential in maintaining a healthy gut microbiome, but they serve different functions.🦶
Chapters:
0:00 Prebiotics vs. Probiotics
0:12 Prebiotic Foods
0:41 Prebiotic foods and probiotic foods
Prebiotics are non-digestible fibers or compounds found in certain plant-based foods that serve as food for the beneficial bacteria in your gut. These fibers pass through the digestive system mostly undigested and are then fermented by gut bacteria, promoting the growth and activity of these beneficial microorganisms. Prebiotics can help improve gut health, enhance immune function, and support overall well-being.
A study published in the British Journal of Nutrition found that consuming prebiotic fibers can lead to an increase in beneficial bacteria, particularly Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli, and a reduction in harmful bacteria (Kolida & Gibson, 2007). Another study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that prebiotic supplementation could improve immune function and reduce the risk of gastrointestinal infections (Lomax & Calder, 2009).
Some common prebiotic-rich foods include:
Chicory root
Jerusalem artichoke
Garlic
Onions
Leeks
Asparagus
Bananas
Barley
Oats
Probiotics, on the other hand, are live beneficial bacteria that can be found in certain fermented foods or taken as supplements. Probiotics can help maintain the balance of the gut microbiome, improve digestion, and support immune function. They can also help prevent or alleviate gastrointestinal conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
A study published in the journal Gastroenterology found that probiotic supplementation can improve symptoms of IBS, such as bloating, abdominal pain, and irregular bowel movements (Moayyedi et al., 2010). Another study in the journal Nutrients demonstrated that probiotics could help prevent antibiotic-associated diarrhea and Clostridium difficile infections in adults and children (Hempel et al., 2012).
Some common probiotic-rich foods include:
Yogurt
Kefir
Sauerkraut
Kimchi
Miso
Tempeh
Kombucha
Pickles (fermented in brine, not vinegar)
In summary, prebiotics and probiotics contribute to a healthy gut microbiome and overall well-being. Prebiotics serve as food for beneficial bacteria, while probiotics are beneficial bacteria. Including both prebiotic-rich and probiotic-rich foods in your diet can help support gut health, immune function, and general well-being.

BEST Food for Eyes [Lutein and Zeaxanthin]
🦶Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids that can help with eyes and eye problems! We review the best carotenoid foods,🦶
Chapters:
0:00 What is Zeaxanthin & Lutein
0:16 Best Food for Eyes
0:30 Cataracts & Macular degeneration
Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids, which are natural pigments found in plants. These two carotenoids are vital for maintaining good eye health, as they have antioxidant properties that help protect the eyes from harmful blue light and oxidative damage. Lutein and zeaxanthin are concentrated in the macula, the central part of the retina responsible for high-resolution vision. Consuming foods rich in lutein and zeaxanthin can help reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataracts, two common eye conditions that can lead to vision loss, especially in older adults.
Several studies have demonstrated the benefits of lutein and zeaxanthin for eye health. For instance, the Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS2) found that supplementing with lutein and zeaxanthin, combined with other essential nutrients, can reduce the risk of AMD progression by 25-30% (Age-Related Eye Disease Study 2 Research Group, 2013). Another study published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology showed that a higher dietary intake of lutein and zeaxanthin is associated with a lower risk of cataract surgery (Liu et al., 2014).
To incorporate lutein and zeaxanthin into your diet, include the following foods:
Leafy green vegetables: Kale, spinach, Swiss chard, and collard greens are excellent sources of lutein and zeaxanthin.
Cruciferous vegetables: Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower contain moderate amounts of lutein and zeaxanthin.
Corn: Yellow corn is a good source of lutein and zeaxanthin, with the nutrients concentrated in the corn's yellow pigment.
Egg yolks: Egg yolks are rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, and the fat content in the yolk helps with the absorption of these carotenoids.
Orange and yellow fruits and vegetables: Orange bell peppers, oranges, mangoes, and papayas also contain lutein and zeaxanthin, albeit in smaller amounts than leafy greens.
By consuming a balanced diet rich in these foods, you can get enough lutein and zeaxanthin to support your eye health.

What is Vitamin E Good For? [Benefits, Best Foods, Skin, Sources]
🦶Vitamin E is a group of fat-soluble compounds with antioxidant properties, which play a crucial role in maintaining the body's overall health. 🦶
Chapters:
0:00 What is Vitamin E?
0:15 Benefits
0:27 Best Foods & Sources
0:44 Doses & Side Effects
The most biologically active form of vitamin E is alpha-tocopherol, though other forms include beta-, gamma-, and delta-tocopherol, as well as alpha-, beta-, gamma-, and delta-tocotrienol. These different forms have varying levels of antioxidant activity and biological function.
Sources of Vitamin E:
Vitamin E is found in a variety of natural food sources, including:
Vegetable oils: Sunflower, safflower, and wheat germ oil are particularly high in vitamin E.
Nuts and seeds: Almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, sunflower seeds, and pine nuts are good sources.
Green leafy vegetables: Spinach, kale, and collard greens contain some vitamin E.
Fruits: Avocado, kiwi, and papaya are examples of vitamin E-rich fruits.
Fortified foods: Some cereals, margarine, and other products may be fortified with vitamin E.
Functions of Vitamin E:
Vitamin E serves several essential functions within the body, including:
Antioxidant activity: Vitamin E helps neutralize free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage cells and contribute to aging and diseases like cancer and heart disease.
Immune system support: Vitamin E plays a role in maintaining a healthy immune system, particularly during times of oxidative stress and chronic inflammation.
Cell signaling: Vitamin E is involved in regulating cell signaling pathways and maintaining cellular function.
Blood vessel function: Vitamin E helps support proper blood vessel function by inhibiting platelet aggregation and promoting vasodilation.
Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA):
The recommended daily allowance for vitamin E varies by age, sex, and life stage:
Infants (0-6 months): 4 mg (6 IU)
Infants (7-12 months): 5 mg (7.5 IU)
Children (1-3 years): 6 mg (9 IU)
Children (4-8 years): 7 mg (10.5 IU)
Children (9-13 years): 11 mg (16.5 IU)
Teens and adults (14+ years): 15 mg (22.5 IU)
Pregnant women: 15 mg (22.5 IU)
Breastfeeding women: 19 mg (28.5 IU)
Deficiency and Toxicity:
Vitamin E deficiency is rare in healthy individuals, as the vitamin is widely available in various foods, and the body efficiently stores and recycles it. However, deficiency can occur in people with fat malabsorption issues or certain genetic disorders. Symptoms of deficiency include nerve problems, muscle weakness, and vision difficulties.
Vitamin E toxicity is also rare but can result from consuming excessive amounts of vitamin E supplements. High doses of vitamin E can cause side effects like nausea, diarrhea, and increased risk of bleeding. It's essential to adhere to the tolerable upper intake level (UL) for vitamin E, which is 1,000 mg (1,500 IU) for adults.

L-Carnosine Benefits, Best Foods Side Effects]
🦶L-carnosine is a naturally occurring dipeptide molecule that is composed of two amino acids, beta-alanine and histidine. It is found in high concentrations in the skeletal muscle, brain, and other tissues of humans and animals.🦶
This can be a great natural treatment and vitamin for neuropathy.
L-carnosine has been studied for its potential health benefits, including its antioxidant properties and its ability to protect against age-related cellular damage. Some studies have also suggested that L-carnosine may be useful for treating a variety of conditions, such as diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and autism.
One of the key benefits of L-carnosine is its ability to act as an antioxidant. It can help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals, which are highly reactive molecules that can cause oxidative stress and lead to cellular damage. By protecting cells from oxidative stress, L-carnosine may help slow down the aging process and reduce the risk of chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease.
L-carnosine has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can be beneficial for reducing inflammation and pain associated with conditions like arthritis. In addition, some studies have suggested that L-carnosine may help improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar control in people with type 2 diabetes.
Another potential benefit of L-carnosine is its ability to protect against neurological damage. Studies have shown that it can help reduce the accumulation of beta-amyloid protein in the brain, which is a key marker of Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, some research has suggested that L-carnosine may be useful for treating autism by improving communication and socialization skills.
L-carnosine is available in supplement form and is generally considered safe when taken at recommended doses. However, as with any supplement, it's important to talk to your healthcare provider before taking L-carnosine, especially if you have a medical condition or are taking medications.
L-carnosine is a naturally occurring dipeptide that has potential health benefits, including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as potential protective effects against age-related cellular damage and neurological disorders.
