The game has a fast-paced, arcade-like, mission-based gameplay. In each mission, you must succeed in minor goals like killing the generals of the opposition, escorting sappers to blow up enemy siege weaponry and preventing the enemy from making to behind your borders. The storyline progresses through cutscenes, shown in-between each mission. Depending on how you succeed in your mission, you get "tokens", which you can use to upgrade the health, damage or power of your character. The player is capable of doing special moves, which can be learned throughout the game. Some of the special moves gain their powers through the spartan gods, that aid the player in his battle. During the game, you can find different weapons like swords, bows and spears, and of course, shields.

Only Sonic the Hedgehog, and his new tagalong partner, Miles 'Tails' Prower, can stop Robotnik and his army of Badniks from taking over the world. Sonic and Tails can collect rings which are scattered throughout all of the levels. As with most platformers, when the player collects 100 rings, they earn an extra life. However, the rings also act as protection; if Sonic is hurt when he is carrying rings, they scatter everywhere and he is briefly invincible. If he is hit again when he has no rings, he'll lose a life. If the player reaches a continue point lamppost with 50 or more rings, they'll be able to access the Special Stage. In this stage, you must gather a set amount of rings in a halfpipe-like stage before you reach a checkpoint. Complete all the checkpoints and you'll earn one of the seven Chaos Emeralds.

During this portion of the game, Sonic can find items that will reward him with things like extra time, points, rings. continues, or extra lives. The game also offers a one last chance to return to the game after running out of lives by having the player attempt to stop a spinning number wheel on a four digit number that matches the player's last four digits of their current score.

As usual, when Sonic destroys one badnik, an animal leaps free from its insides, but this time Sonic has to pick him up and lead them to an interdimensional ring.To collect all seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic first must find Tails or Knuckles and offer them at least 50 rings.

He can also break through walls that Sonic can't. With these abilities, Knuckles can access different areas from Sonic, making for each level an entirely new experience.

By killing enemies or destroying television receivers, VectorMan can find power-ups. Additionally, destroyed TVs may reveal morph icons or powerful weapons that replace VectorMan's standard ball gun for a limited time.

While flying around, Tails discovers an island. It seems to be completely abandoned except for some mine cart tracks. As he lands on the island a cart approaches, and Tails hides in the bushes. The passing silver cart is driven by a woman who says she is Wendy Witchcart. She proclaims that everything on the island is hers and threatens to transform everyone in crystal who does not follow her rules. Tails, determined to save all the animals on the island, sets in a chase to the Witchcart. Gameplay is fairly similar to the Sonic series. Tails need to defeat enemies and complete obstacles. He can fly, but is constantly suspended. He carries a golden ring that is used to take out enemies or to latch on to devices. Sonic, the emeralds and Dr. Robotnik are not presented, and neither are there rings to collect during the levels.

Unlike the other games in the series, this spin-off is less of a traditional platformer, but has a slower pace with RPG elements and puzzle-solving. Tails can walk, jump, fly, hang on ledges and throw bombs. He starts with ten health points that can be replenished with rings, but the amount can be extended to 99 by collecting chaos emeralds. In the twelve stages Tails can collect up to 26 items. Per level however, he is only allowed to bring along four and this adds a tactical dimension.

While all this is happening, Nack the Weasel seizes his chance to take the emeralds for himself while everyone else is pre-occupied. Now it's a 4-way race to retrieve the emeralds. The gameplay is like the other Sonic titles, but this is only available on the Game Gear. The player can choose to play as Sonic or Tails (who can fly), and you're trying to reach the Chaos Emeralds before anyone else. A change from other Sonic games is that when hit, all rings are not lost, only a set amount (30–50 depending on the level) is lost.

Sonic uses his patented spin attacks to destroy the doctor's minions and collects various items, such as protective rings, shields, and speed shoes. His special attacks include the Spin Dash and the Super Peel Out. A stand-out gameplay feature of this installment is Sonic's ability to travel to past and future versions of the stages he traverses. Depending on the player's action in the past version of a level, the future versions will change from "bad" to "good", having more or fewer enemies and obstacles, respectively.

Sincerely, Tails." That being more than enough motivation for him, Sonic races out to defeat Robotnik again. The Master System version is totally different than the Sonic 2 for Genesis. Tails obviously doesn't accompany you, like he can in the Genesis release. Sonic can also not do his infamous buzzsaw roll by simply ducking and pressing jump.

Gameplay is mostly typical for a versus fighter, it is a one-on-one fight on a best two out of three basis. Players use jumps, punches, kicks and special weapons. Bean the Dynamite for example, a duck-like character who makes his debut in the Sonic universe, uses bombs. Blocking is done by making use of a limited supply of barriers. The whole action is illustrated in a comical fashion though, like one would expect from a Sonic game. A round is won when a player managed to deplete an opponent's health, unless the timer runs out, in which case the character with the most energy left is the winner. Environments are 3D closed arenas, but the gameplay is mostly 2D, allowing limited sidestep maneuvers.

There are many modes of gameplay in Sonic R: Grand Prix: You race against the rest of the characters on each of the circuits, and get a chance to race the level's boss to unlock some of the extra playable characters. Time Attack: Run on one of the tracks as fast as you can, get 5 balloons or tag 4 characters. Multi Player: 4 players on a split-screen or over a network. You can race against up to three players or challenge them on a balloon finding game. The screen can be divided horizontally or vertically for 2 player games.

Second Sight is a 3D shooter with stealth elements. The player mostly controls John from a third-person perspective, though it is possible to switch to first-person view under certain circumstances. During the course of the game the player gets to use telekinesis, healing, charm, projection and possession powers and two types of psychic attack, plus a variety of weapons. Most situations can be tackled with stealth, mindless violence or psychic powers, or a combination of the three.

Scaler has many abilities, such as climbing walls to reach new areas and riding vines to charge up his electric bomb attack. He can use camouflage to sneak by deadly traps and confuse your enemies. Scaler attacks with his tongue or claws, which can be upgraded during the game. The Electric Bomb attacks several enemies at once. Scaler can also transform into some of the enemies he defeats after defeating enough of them and use the special abilities of that creature.

Guardian mode is slower than Fighter mode and loses the ability to drop decoy pods, but can aim Gunpod bullets, gains more powerful missiles, and can pick up mission critical items. Battloid mode can not fly or fire missiles, but can rapidly aim the Gunpod and automatically shoot down enemy missiles. Each mode can be switched between instantly and whenever desired.

What makes it different from previous Pokémon games is that it features a more developed story with many characters to meet and interact as well as locations to explore. This game also includes combat-mode where you can battle against 1 or 3 other players.

The plot is furthered through use of FMV video with live actors and digital sets, which has been heavily enhanced so that it looks quite real.

Enhancements are still unlocked gradually, but the cars have now been divided over different tiers. There are about 40 cars to unlock. Other features include the possibility to form your own crew, more detailed sculpting features, drifting races, and the new car classes. The city and the surroundings in the career mode have been divided into different territories, controlled by gangs. You are either invited or challenged to race in the sections and claim them as your own. To do so, you have to impress the gang leader by winning races until he challenges you for a duel - first in the city, then over the narrow roads of Carbon Canyon. The crew feature, with room for up to 6 cars, allows you to assign three roles to racers: drafters, scouts and blockers. These are supporting characters you can hire to help you win races. Drafters leave behind a coloured trail that makes it easier to find the way, scouts discover hidden shortcuts, and blockers try to cause mayhem to slow your opponents down.

Before the player can enter the Grand Prix, the player must first qualify by competing in the Qualifying Lap within 73 seconds or less. If the player, however, does not qualify in the Qualifying Lap, the player may continue to race until the Race Timer runs after 90 seconds.When the time runs out - Game Over. Qualifying will enable the player to start in one of the eight available positions. The faster the lap time was, the better the starting position in addition to bonus score points. The number one starting position is the Pole Position. During the Grand Prix, the player will compete against the Race Timer as well as against other racing cars. If the player fails to beat the Race Timer in any lap, the player drops out of the race - Game Over.

The player moves left and right to aim at an alien, then shoots a bullet up the screen, and the alien it hits is killed. The aliens are classed as Drones, Emissaries, Hornets and Commanders, with those higher up the screen scoring more points when destroyed. At set intervals an enemy will move down the screen towards you, escorting a bomber, which is a moment of high danger. Clear a wave and another is generated.

The gameplay is basically the same as the original Galaga, except that: - Rounds have been named, and the background varies - Boss Galagans have been split into three different types. Blue rewards the player with Wide Shot , yellow bosses allow the player to fire as fast as he wishes; the reddish boss gives reflective shots: three missiles are fired to the left, right, and center. - There are more varied formations, and there may be 2-3 formations before completing a stage. Galaga Arrangement along with 2 Arrangement games from Namco Classic Collection Vol. 2 was included in the North American exclusive Namco Museum for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Nintendo GameCube (Not to be confused with the Namco Museum 50th Anniversary). Galaga Arrangement is not to be confused with a similarly titled but wholly different game that appeared in Namco Museum Battle Collection, and on Namco Museum Virtual Arcade.

Copied from MobyGames: Dig Dug is a 1-2 player arcade game in which you have to use your shovel to dig your way through the earth. Stopping you from doing this are two monsters, called Pooka and Fygar, who will continually chase you around. The only weapon that you carry is an air pump, which you can use to inflate the monsters to the point where they explode. (if you start to inflate them but stop doing so, the monsters will get turned back to their normal selves). Furthermore, rocks are scattered throughout the earth, and you can use these rocks to squash them. If the monsters do not find you for several seconds, they will eventually get turned into ghosts, which can walk through the earth. They are invincible and cannot be killed. From time to time, vegetables will appear in the center, and you can get these for points.

The updated variant was named Dig Dug Arrangement, and allowed two players to play simultaneously, unlike the original. Out of the six created Arrangement games, this version has the least amount of changes. The graphics are updated and the rounds are different. There are also new features such as giant rocks which can fall down to the bottom of the screen, and special power-up items. Dig Dug Arrangement was re-released alongside the original Dig Dug and ten other Namco games on the PS2, Xbox and GameCube versions of Namco Museum. In this version of Dig Dug, there are balls (inspired by Cosmo Gang the Puzzle) that can kill a lot of enemies in a row.

Copied from MobyGames: It's 2492 and you must pilot your Sub-Terranean Underground Network craft at speeds over 900 miles per hour through a series of courses to retain your title as S.T.U.N. Runner, completing each course before time runs out. There are also enemies on each course, such as cycles, indestructible armored drones, and flying bird-like craft. Shoot or avoid them. If you hit them, you lose one of your shields and are slowed down temporarily. The more shields you have at the finish line, the more bonus points you get. Getting hit with no shields does not kill you, however. The only way to lose is to fail to cross the finish line. Along the way you'll encounter Boost Pads that temporarily speed you up to incredible speeds and make you indestructible. By running over enough green stars on each course, you can also earn Shockwaves, which destroy all enemies in your path. Note that there is no accelerator in this game. Your craft always goes full speed, unless you hit something. Then you will slow down, but quickly accelerate back to full speed. Your only controls are steering left and right and aiming the gun on top of your craft up and down.

Graphics are entirely 3D with reflective water effects and realistic bouncing and bucking in the boats. Multiplayer competitions are supported for 2 players on the PlayStation version.

The races consist of 3 souped-up cars toughing it out over 4 laps on one of the 8 tracks, which are viewed from above. Two human players can take part, but only the winner continues without using up credits, so you will only see the early races in two-player mode. You are armed with guns, which can be used to slow opposing cars. During the races spanners can be collected, which are then cashed in for upgraded turbos, improved weaponry and engine upgrades. Hazards on the later tracks include ramps, bridges, buildings collapsing onto the track and barriers which open and close in a random sequence.

His dog can be transformed to access different area types. A new addition is the Mega Buster weapon, which can be charged to produce powerful shots.

It's quite similar, in all respects, to other Mega Man games; however, this is the first time that you get a sidekick. It's also the first time you're allowed to slide instead of merely walking. Rush is your dog who helps out by offering other modes of transportation when you need it. He starts out with the 'Rush Coil' ability to launch you to the top of the screen like a springboard; later he acquires the 'Rush Jet' ability to turn into a guided, floating platform to carry you wherever you need to go; and he also gets the 'Rush Marine' ability which is a submarine that works just like the jet except underwater and with the added ability to hop around out of the water (you can actually jump while on the jet but the jet continues to hover beneath you whereas you stay inside the submarine). All of these abilities function just like boss weapons.

Copied from MobyGames: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets follows the exploits of Harry during his second year at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During his time there, Harry's classmates are coming under a mysterious paralysis and Harry must get to the bottom of what is happening. The game involves Harry being given objectives to complete along with him having to go to class to learn spells. The game also has some mini-game diversions such as playing Quidditch, dunking gnomes in water, and collecting wizard cards. Occasionally Harry will find himself in a combat situation. Harry can be equipped with up to three different spells at a time. If the player can make Harry cast a spell with correct timing, the spell will be more powerful than normal. Some differences include the PS2 version of the game having an overall lower difficulty level plus when Harry is riding a broom he can land it anywhere instead of only in designated landing spots. Speaking of platform differences, the GameCube version has an exclusive feature that allows the player to connect to the GBA game and unlock a new Wizard Card.

You are in John's shoes as he must face a new threat. Piet Gruber, the son of Hans Gruber and McClane's old enemy, is up to no good at the Townsend Art Museum. He has stolen valuable art and kidnapped John's now-adult daughter and fellow CCPD police officer, Lucy. This game is a First Person Shooter, but it also adds two features: Stealth Mode and Hero Time. Stealth Mode allows John to sneak around quietly, even being able to grab his foes and use them as hostages. This means it may not be best to go in guns blazing when they could be arrested. Hero Time allows John to react far more quickly, just like Bullet Time inMax Payne. Hero Time is earned by saving hostages and performing heroic tasks in the game. There are several different weapons available in the game, ranging from a paintball gun for training to a sniper rifle. Most of the guns can also be used dually for the ultimate killing spree.

Copied from MobyGames: Dead to Rights is a 3rd-person shooter in which the player is Jack Slate, a police officer in Grant City. On a routine call, he finds the dead body of his father. While trying to find the murderer, he is framed for another murder. Jack becomes a fugitive; his run from the law will take him to various places, from strip joints and hotels to office complexes, and even prison, as an inmate. When controlling Jack, players can perform various moves, such as grabbing an enemy from behind and using him as a human shield, or tossing a fire extinguisher and shooting it, causing a huge explosion. If Jack does not have a gun drawn, he can disarm an enemy which causes him to steal the enemy's gun. Players will sometimes have to control Jack's best friend and partner, his K-9 dog Shadow, which allows enemies to be killed from a distance. In addition, Shadow will fetch their guns and bring them to Jack. The game also features "adrenaline combat", similar to "Bullet Time" from Max Payne. Jack will then perform slow-motion dives and spins, giving him an advantage, as long as his adrenaline meter holds out.

In this game, you are racing on realistic streets with real traffic to contend with. There are 6 courses on which to race, 3 of which are reminiscent of Europe, and 3 from the USA. There are several vehicles to choose from, ranging from compact cars to pickups. However, they are not based on real makes and models. One notable feature of Burnout is the "Burn Meter." The Burn Meter is a gauge that is filled by performing reckless stunts, like racing into oncoming traffic or power-drifting through corners. Once the Burn Meter is filled, your car gets a super speed boost. If you crash, however, the Burn Meter is reset and must be filled again to achieve a boost.

Designers have built city districts and surrounding areas and implemented the racecourses throughout the streets. As well, Burnout strongly encourages offensive driving. Driving on the wrong side of the road, barely missing passing traffic, drifting, and jumps all add to your boost "burnout" meter. Burnout 2 contains a full campaign and custom car campaign. While you can unlock regular cars and tracks, later in the campaign you unlock more raceways like reverse tracks and one-way sprints. You can unlock over 20 cars like a Nascar, a 1920s gangster car, a Japanese muscle, and many customized vehicles with custom paint jobs and upgraded stats. Along with the same sense of speed and highly detailed crash animations as before, Point of Impact includes new modes of play. Pursuit mode has you playing the cop as you chase down the speeding motorists, and to win you must crash them out of the race. Crash mode, as the name suggests, forces you to glide into crowded intersections to get the most cars involved in a pile-up as possible.

Her mission will take her from clearing out the walking dead in the swamps of Louisiana to hunting down members of the Nazi military around the world, as well as the monsters they unwittingly awakened. Rayne's primary weapons are the blades attached to her arms. Rayne can also hold many weapons, but she is not overly attached to them and will discard any weapon that runs dry. Her enhanced vampiric strength allows her the ability to drain the blood out of any human she can grab in order to restore her health. By killing enemies Rayne's rage meter will fill, eventually allowing her to enter Blood Rage, slowing the world around her and gaining new combo attacks. Rayne's ability to perceive the world will grow as the game progresses as well, allowing her to see living things through walls, zoom in on distant targets, and speed up her perception that everything, herself included, appears to slow down.

Using both stealth and brutal skills, you take on enemies in true beat-em-up style. Batman has a vast array of moves, from kicks and punches to more exotic special moves. Multiple enemies can be attacked at once, and there are tricks to break through enemies' defenses. Next to the melee combat, Batman carries his Utility Belt with a Batgrapple to reach higher areas, the Batarang and gadgets such as smoke and flash grenades, a lockpick, camera hacker and an optical wire to peek from behind corners. Certain levels turn Batman Begins into a racing game, as you drive the shiny Batmobile at high speeds through Gotham City. During these missions, your progress is measured by a reputation meter, which increases when you take out cops and thugs, and decreases when you harm civilians. There is nitro available for even higher speeds and an armor meter shows the status of your car.
