After dominating the “Rubicon Primaris” I did some toes to bar with slightly higher volume like yesterday. I then moved on to lower back/posterior chain with Hammer Strength 45 Degree Back Extensions before transitioning to leg training.

First for legs I did rear foot elevated split squats. I’ve spoken before about the transfer these have to running, cycling, etc. The other reason why lightweight, rear-foot elevated split squats are a favorite of mine is that they’re a loaded stretch. When done correctly, these can build and help to retain a high level of mobility (not just stretching but loading through end ranges) and concomitant resilience.

Lastly I did some seated calf raises to work both the gastrocs, the big calf muscle that supports the knee and the soleus, the muscle underneath the gastrocs that helps with ankle stability when the knee is bent.
