El Salvador’s Infamous Supermax Prison Holds 12,000 Alleged Gang Members

For the past half-year, over 12,000 individuals suspected of belonging to El Salvador’s most notorious gangs have been confined to their cells within the infamous mega prison in Tecoluca.

This institution, known as the Centre for the Confinement of Terrorism (CECOT), houses a grim existence for its inmates.

Amidst its sprawling confines, prisoners are imploring authorities for sustenance and medical aid, particularly for those terminally ill inmates who are facing their final moments, the Daily Mail reported.
