How to aerate your compost pile:
This can help aerate your compost, which will help the compost breakdown faster. Air can penetrate around 12” into a compost pile from the outside, if you can add aeration to the middle like this hardware cloth or a PVC pipe with holes cut in it. This will allow air to penetrate from the outside and the middle of the pile. Increasing the oxygen for good bacteria to help breakdown the compost quicker.
