'Virgin River': 7 Locations to Visit if You Love the Netflix Series
Robyn Carr's beloved book series turned Netflix series follows the story of Melinda "Mel" Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) who moves to the picturesque small town of Virgin River to work as a nurse practitioner. Mel has undergone serious personal trauma so she tries to start fresh in her new town despite the initial culture shock of relocating from the big city. There are so many things to love about the show -- new romance, charming small-town life and characters going through emotional struggles that will tear at your heartstrings.
Virgin River was a major hit after the release of its first season and its second season is now officially on Netflix! So where is Virgin River exactly? Despite taking place in California, the TV show actually wasn't filmed in the United States. The filming locations are all outside of Vancouver in Canada. Also known as "Hollywood North," this area has been a major filming hub over the past couple of decades for other shows including The Flash, Riverdale, Once Upon A Time and more.
Here are some of the recognizable filming locations from Virgin River you'll find in the Vancouver area.
1. Jack's Bar
Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), the owner of the local bar in town, has an immediate connection with Mel when she gets to town. He was also a U.S. Marine and is suffering from PTSD which Mel is able to recognize and help him with throughout the first season.
The actual setting for Jack's Bar is the Watershed Grill in Brackendale, outside of Vancouver.
2. Doc Mullins Clinic
[caption id="attachment_83619" align="alignnone" width="798"] Screengrab from YouTube[/caption]
Grouchy Doc Mullins (Tim Matheson) is a little unsure of Mel when she first comes to town, but she eventually wins him over. Similar to Matheson's role as another small-town doctor in Hart of Dixie, Doc Mullins is a bit rough around the edges, but deep down he's a big softy. That is definitely evident in his interactions with his ex-wife, who also happens to be the town mayor, Hope McCrea (Annette O'Toole).
The location of Doc's office is 122 First Street in the historic Queen's Park of New Westminster. The Queen Anne-style mansion, known as the Breezehurst, has been featured in numerous other TV shows and films over the years.
3. Mel's cabin
When Mel steps foot in her homey new cabin for the first time, it's quite the shock. She did come from the big city after all. But Jack and Mayor McCrea help her fix it up and it turns into exactly where she needs to be.
The real house is located in Murdo Frazer Park and serves as the park caretaker's home.
4. Paige’s Bakeaway
Paige Lassiter owns her own bakery food truck on the show. A single mom with a little boy, Paige has her own reasons for moving to the small town of Virgin River, which are eventually revealed on the show.
The location for her cute little truck is actually Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park.

5. ‘Welcome to Virgin River’ sign
[caption id="attachment_83621" align="alignnone" width="798"] Screengrab from YouTube[/caption]
East of Vancouver on Pioneer Avenue in Agassiz (just 75 miles outside Vancouver) you'll find the location of the sign welcoming folks to Virgin River.
6. Establishing shots of the town
[caption id="attachment_83833" align="alignnone" width="640"] Screengrab via YouTube[/caption]
The Netflix show took advantage of some of the most stunning small-town areas outside of Vancouver. Snug Cove on Bowen Island serves as the main shot of the exterior of the town as a whole, but there are numerous other areas featured including Port Coquitlam and the Samz Neighbourhood Pub in Port Coquitlam.

Trap vs. Skeet Shooting: What's the Difference?
he difference between trap and skeet is a very common question.
Trap and skeet shooting. You've probably heard these terms before. But if you haven't participated in these shooting sports before, you might be confused about the differences between them.
They are incredibly similar. Both shotgun games were developed to mimic bird hunting and have since turned into contests designed to test the marksmanship of the world's best shooters. These games have even made it into the Olympics.

Who's Ready for Georgia Football in 2021?
Some college football teams ease their way into the season with games against lowly, non-conference opponents. Not the Georgia Bulldogs.
In looking to return to the College Football Playoff, there will be plenty of early tests for head coach Kirby Smart.
In 2020, the ‘Dawgs looked strong and ended the season with a Peach Bowl victory. They have the chance to go much further than this year.
The Bulldogs kick off the season at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium against Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers. By no means will the marquee matchup against a perennial championship contender be easy, but it will be incredibly exciting.
Georgia been preparing for big moments like these, and now it’s time to put their string of strong recruiting classes to the test.
Following a home game against the UAB Blazers in Athens, SEC play kicks off in Week 3 against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
While the ‘Dawgs will play teams such as Vanderbilt, Auburn, Kentucky, and Tennessee, this schedule is notable because of the teams Georgia won’t have to face. There is no Alabama, LSU, or Texas A&M on the docket for the Bulldogs in 2021, meaning that a 10-2 or even 11-1 regular-season record is certainly within reach.
As is tradition, UGA will travel to Jacksonville, Fla., for a neutral site game against the Florida Gators on October 30. For rivalry week, the Bulldogs will take on their in-state contemporaries, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The Georgia Bulldogs only have three “true” conference road games in 2021. They’ll travel to Nashville, Auburn, and Knoxville, in addition to the two neutral-site games.
The SEC Championship Game takes place on December 4, and there is a great chance the ‘Dawgs will be playing in Atlanta.
Football season is slowly inching closer, and fans have to start getting excited for the CFP potential this team has.

Where Is Adrienne Janic From “Overhaulin'” Today?
Adrienne "AJ" Janic, co-host of the hot rod reality show "Overhaulin" is another shining example of women rocking it in the automotive industry. Unlike some reality television hosts, Adrienne Janic wasn't necessarily looking for a career in cars, but now she's got the resto bug.
Adrienne "AJ" Janic grew up in Whittier, California. Never heard of it? Not surprising. Nestled within Los Angeles County, this town is home to fewer than 90,000 people.
Her father hails from Serbia, and worked hard in his career as an aerospace engineer. Her mother, a registered nurse, was born in Mexico. AJ found that while she enjoyed school and graduated at the top of her class, college wasn't her calling. Instead, she thought about joining the Air Force. But, before she could officially enlist, she was discovered by a talent scout while grocery shopping.
If all of this sounds like Hollywood fantasy, the TV host insists that it wasn't all easy riding. She had to quickly learn to handle harsh rejection and constant critique. Eventually, she realized that she wanted to entertain more than appear, and set her sights on a film career.
Fans of the tv show "Overhaulin" identify with her, due to her authentic outlook and realistic attitude. Well, that, and she's really, really, REALLY pretty. As she auditioned time and time again, one lesson that Adrienne Janic learned on the road to stardom was to always be true to herself.
As an example, she points to her audition for Fanta. She wasn't prepared for the singing and dancing that were required, so she went all in and improvised a combination cheer squad performance with a Britney Spears impression, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. Much to her surprise, she was instantly contacted with a call back, leading to a two year career as one of the Fantanas.
AJ's perseverance is demonstrated in her IMDB filmography, with a diverse portfolio of acting credits that defy "pretty girl" typecasting. She has several television roles to her name, including appearances as Dr. Vivian on "House" and roles in "Kitchen Confidential" and "Complete Savages." She's appeared in films such as "Diary of a Sex Addict," "Cattle Call" and "Stiletto."
In 2004, AJ's husband Bud Brutsman began producing "Overhaulin," then on TLC. She understood she would be helping prank unsuspecting people, much like she had done on "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment." Instead, she began a part of a crew of talented automotive restorers, changing the world one hot rod at a time.
Before the TV series, AJ wasn't exactly a gear head, but she could hold her own in a 1990 Toyota Corolla. As her time on the series progressed, she learned how to operate a slew of new tools, and participate in some of the coolest vehicular makeovers on television.
Accompanied by host Chip Foose, AJ has confirmed that "Overhaulin" was a complete learning experience, but she's fully enjoying the fruits of her education. She's invested in a '68 Firebird as an homage to the '68 GTO her father drove when she was a child.
Since her time on "Overhaulin," AJ hasn't veered far from the fast lane. She appeared on "Hot Import Nights," and co-hosted Motortrend's "Competition Ready" TV show, which followed restomods on the road from rust to reward.
Fans of automotive reality shows can catch up with "Overhaulin" on Motortrend, along with the first season of "Competition Ready."
Adrienne "AJ" Janic continues to appear where the hot rods are, regularly posting pictures on social media of some of the souped-up muscle cars she encounters as a TV personality. Fans will be glad to hear she still hangs out at SEMA, appearing on the show's YouTube account and likely getting inspiration for her own budding car collection.

‘Jeopardy!’ Is FINALLY Getting a New Official Host
It’s been six months since Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 80 after hosting the show for a record-breaking 37 seasons. Since the longtime host’s final Jeopardy! episode aired on January 8, the TV show has been hosted by a string of guest hosts — from record-setting former champion Ken Jennings to CNN host Anderson Cooper.
But the months of searching for a new host may be coming to a close. In The Wall Street Journal’s podcast, “The Journal”, executive producer Mike Richards revealed that the show will have chosen its next official host by the start of season 38, which begins filming in late July or early August this year.
During the podcast, Richards explained the reason behind the delay in hiring a new official host after Trebek’s death.
“We started talking about it internally that to name someone right away would be very hard for us because we were still reeling from the loss [of Alex Trebek],” Richards said “[For] the Jeopardy! family — which is the fans, the country, the staff — that if on Friday it’s Alex’s last show and then Monday it’s a new person’s show, that would probably be unfair to the person stepping in to do it.” As of now, no one — not even Richards — knows who the new game show host will be.
In their search for a new permanent host, the network has brought on guest hosts from Hollywood, sports, broadcasting, and beyond. Richards said that the network is watching to see how fans respond to the different candidates.
Before the season ends, the quiz show will have had more than a dozen guest hosts behind the lectern, each hosting for a two-week stint. We’ve included the full list of previous and upcoming guest hosts, plus the dates they will be guest hosting below.
- Ken Jennings – former “Greatest of all Time” Jeopardy contestant of all time (Jan. 4 – Feb. 19)

Patrick Swayze Didn’t Let Cancer Stop Him From Acting
On the morning following September 14, 2009, newspapers across the world reported the sad news: Patrick Swayze, the beloved, balletically athletic star of Dirty Dancing and Ghost, was dead at 57-years-old.The actor’s death, while early, was not unexpected. It came at the end of a five-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Patrick Swayze was born in Houston, Texas, in 1952. Swayze fell in love with ballet at a young age, thanks largely to his mother, who was the director of the Houston Jazz Ballet Company.
In addition to dance, Swayze excelled in gymnastics, swimming, and football during high school. Eventually, he began catching recruiters’ eyes and was offered a number of athletic scholarships, including ones for ballet and gymnastics. Swayze decided to accept the gymnastics at San Jacinto College in Houston, where he studied for two years before leaving to join the touring cast of the Disney on Parade ice show (Swayze played Prince Charming).
Swayze moved to New York in 1972 to train with the Harkness and Joffrey Ballet companies. He was hired as the main dancer at the prestigious Eliot Feld Ballet Company, but had to give up the role after surgery for an old football injury resulted in infection. After being forced to leave the ballet stage, Swayze decided to focus on stage acting. After starring in the Broadway shows Goodtime Charley and West Side Story, he landed the role as Danny Zuko in Grease.
In 1979, Swayze headed to Los Angeles, where he made his silver screen debut in the movie Skatetown, U.S.A. Swayze went on to portray a leukemia patient on the TV show M*A*S*H before landing a leading role in The Outsiders. Next came major roles in the films Red Dawn and Grandview, U.S.A., and the television miniseries North and South.
In 1987, Swayze was rocketed to international celeb status with the success of Dirty Dancing. His performance as hunky dance instructor Johnny Castle earned him a Golden Globe nomination. Oh, and here’s a fun fact: Swayze along with co-writer Stacy Widelitz worked together to write the hit song “She’s Like the Wind” for the Dirty Dancing soundtrack.
In the years that followed Dirty Dancing, Swayze appeared in Road House and Next of Kin, before nabbing the leading role in Ghost alongside co-stars Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.
In 1991, Swayze was named “The Sexiest Man Alive” by People. That same year, Swayze would star in Point Break alongside Keanu Reeves. Following Point Break, Swayze appeared in To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, Black Dog, and Letters from a Killer. In the early 2000s, Swayze starred in Forever Lulu before joining the cast of cult-classic Donnie Darko. Later on, the actor appeared in One Last Dance and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights.
Swayze was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in 2008. Swayze didn’t let the diagnosis stop him from acting in the movies Jump! and Powder Blue. He also starred in the A&E TV series The Beast as Charles Barker, undergoing chemotherapy in between shoots. The star died on September 14, 2009, after spending more than two years fighting his disease.

Al Horford Married The Tallest “Miss Universe” of All Time
NBA player Al Horford loves the game of basketball, and he also loves his wife, 2003 Miss Universe Amelia Vega.
Like Horford, Vega is from the Dominican Republic, and she holds a trifecta of records for her Miss Universe 2003 win: She was the first Dominican woman to win the title; she won the competition at 18 — making her the youngest winner since 1994 at the time — and she’s the tallest Miss Universe winner ever at 6-foot-1.
Horford and Vega met in Boston during the Latin Pride Awards over a decade ago. Horford played for the Atlanta Hawks at the time.
The two didn’t start dating until four years after their first encounter. On December 24, 2011 at a surprise wedding disguised as a regular party, the couple got married at Vega’s uncle’s home in the Dominican Republic.
The former Miss Universe owns two boutiques called “Essence by Amelia Vega” in Miami that boast large followings on social media. She also has some pipes and released her album “Agua Dulce” in 2011. She is the niece of Grammy-winning vocalist Juan Luis Guerra.
The OKC center and the former Miss Dominican Republic have four children together. Their son Ean was born on February 23, 2015. Their second child, daughter Alia was born on November 27, 2016 — Horford missed a Boston Celtics game for her birth. They welcomed their second baby girl, Ava, on July 12, 2018.
In February 2020, Horford and Vega welcomed another baby girl, Nova, to the family.
Horford, a five-time NBA All-Star and All-American with the Florida Gators, was averaging 12 points and 6.9 rebounds for the Philadelphia 76ers before the 2019-20 season was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. They were swept in the first round of the playoffs during the NBA Bubble restart.
Horford now plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Former NASCAR Driver Jeremy Mayfield Had a Career Marred in Controversy
In NASCAR, you tend to hear a lot about the successes of big-name drivers, but not so much about those racers who had serious struggles. Former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield is a perfect example of the latter, and while he was no Tony Stewart or Jeff Gordon, he did show talent in a race car before finding himself in some trouble.
Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, Mayfield grew up racing BMX bikes, before making the switch over to go-karts. By the age of 19, he moved to Tennessee and worked as a fabricator for Sadler Brothers Racing. After some time, he became their driver and took home Late Model Rookie of the Year honors in 1987, qualifying him to move up to the ARCA Series, where he was named Rookie of the Year in 1993.
His first NASCAR Cup Series race took place in his Ford Thunderbird at the Mellow Yellow 500, and he brought in his first career win at the Pocono 500. Racing for nearly 15 years at NASCAR’s highest level, Mayfield racked up five wins and 96 top-10 finishes out of 433 Cup Series races. This wasn’t an easy road, however, as Mayfield was in trouble more times than not.
Back in 2006, Jeremy Mayfield was let go by Evernham Motorsports and replaced by Bill Elliott. The original claim behind Mayfield’s firing was that he dropped out of the top 35 in point standings, however, with a little digging, it was uncovered that the real reason he was let go was because he made negative comments about the team owner. He stated that Ray Evernham was more focused on a developmental racer, Erin Crocker, and lacked attention toward his team. Although that was part of why Mayfield got fired, he wasn’t wrong. Three years, Evernham went on to marry Crocker, who he had been having an affair with beforehand.
Mayfield’s biggest problem was the constant substance abuse violations. 2009 was a rough year for him, following a positive drug test. NASCAR didn’t say exactly what the drug was at first, but labeled it a “drug of concern.” Mayfield was suspended indefinitely from NASCAR, though he was dead set on his innocence and pleaded his case on multiple occasions.
Around a month later, NASCAR announced that the drug Mayfield tested positive for was methamphetamine. He still denied all allegations, and stated he only took adderall and OTC drugs, but was unable to truly convince NASCAR of that. Then-NASCAR CEO Brian France, who would later have drug publicized drug problems of his own, held that if Mayfield ever wanted to come back to stock car racing, he would be required to complete NASCAR’s Road to Recovery program.
Then, there was another major incident 2011. Mayfield owned five dogs that had attacked a mail carrier in his yard, leaving her with numerous scratches and bite marks on her legs. All of the dogs were euthanized, but Mayfield dug the hole deeper after he tried to dodge the lawsuit by failing to respond. By 2012, he was ordered to pay $1 million to settle.
Also in 2011, Sheriff’s deputies searched Mayfield’s home in Catawba, after receiving tips that he was robbing places to support his drug addiction. Along with 1.5 grams of meth, authorities also found $100,000 worth of stolen items on Mayfield’s property. This included heavy machinery that had been reported stolen, and a variety of audio/visual equipment taken from racing teams.
Over time, most charges were dropped or thrown out, but he did plead to two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen property and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
These events in Mayfield’s life were extremely unfortunate, but it goes to show you how making the wrong choices can take you from promising star to cautionary tale.

Harrison Ford + Calista Flockhart Live on an 800-Acre Ranch in Wyoming
It's hard to imagine a Hollywood without Harrison Ford. One of the greatest action heroes of his generation he will forever be remembered for bringing Han Solo and Indiana Jones to life on the big screen. But it was an interesting road that led Ford to stardom and ultimately to meeting his wife of 10 years, actress Calista Flockhart.
Ford didn't even start acting until college where he met his first wife, Mary Marquardt. After taking an initial acting class he was hooked and decided to pursue it full time. In order to support his wife Mary and their two children, Ben and Willard, he started working as a carpenter. Even when he booked small roles for directors like George Lucas or Francis Ford Coppola they would apparently also hire him on the side for some carpentry work. All of that would change as soon as the role of Han Solo in Star Wars made Ford an A-lister, but he never lost his love of woodworking.
The beloved actor was married to his second wife Melissa Mathison from 1983 until their divorce was finalized in 2004 and they share two children together, Georgia and Malcolm. In 2002, Ford met actress Calista Flockhart at the Golden Globe Awards and it was an instantaneous connection. She had adopted a son named Liam right before meeting Ford but for all intents and purposes, the actor became the young boy's father.
Flockhart is well known for her many roles on iconic TV shows and films. Outside of David E. Kelley's hilarious CBS show Ally McBeal, she starred in Guiding Light, The Birdcage, Robot Chicken, as Kitty Walker with co-star Sally Field in ABC's Brothers & Sisters, as Cat Grant on the CW's Supergirl, and
A Midsummer Night's Dream. Like Ford, she is also a native of Illinois though she studied at Rutgers University in New Jersey. After years of dating, Ford popped the question on Valentine's Day in 2009 and they tied the knot the following year in an intimate ceremony in New Mexico.
After years of walking red carpets at the Golden Globes, Emmys, and Oscars, in addition to dealing with the busy lifestyle of Hollywood and Los Angeles, Ford and Flockhart prefer to spend most of their time and their relaxing ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The actor initially bought the ranch in the 80s with his second wife Melissa when Jackson Hole was just a quite little town in the Teton Mountains.
“I’m old news. I’ve been there (Hollywood) for 35 years.” Ford told Parade. “When I’m up in Wyoming, I just walk out the door and keep walking...if my chores are done and there’s nothing more pressing and the weather’s good, I’ll go flying—I love to fly up there—or walk in the woods, do some work, ride my road bike or mountain bike.”
The couple loves entertaining their family at their property -- Ford's four children from his first two marriages and teenage Liam, who just finished high school and is starting college this year. Ford told Land Report that one of his favorite parts about spending time at his ranch along Snake River, which he helped design, is just getting an escape.
“I need balance,” he said. “I need to be in a situation where my every whim is not attended to, where I have to fetch my own nails, do my own shopping, and wash my own dishes. … Being normal is a kind of victory. I’ll fix a fence, repair a piece of equipment, or plough the driveway if there’s snow. There’s always plenty of work to do.”
Though Flockhart has slowed down a bit and hasn't appeared in any films or TV series for a couple of years, Ford shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He appeared in The Call of the Wild earlier this year and is still planning to reprise his iconic role as Indiana Jones in another feature film next year. We definitely respect the actor for being private about his personal life and it's refreshing that he and Flockhart enjoy life together off the grid instead of being spotted by tabloids all over the streets of New York City or L.A.

Should You Shower at Night or in the Morning?
Is it better to take a morning shower or evening shower? Does the time of day you take a hot shower really matter?
Dermatologists say that an evening shower is good for your skin because it cleans it before sleep. Basically, there's always something in the air (dirt, germs, pollution, other grime) and the last thing you want to do is leave that on your skin.
If you're an allergy sufferer, a night shower is best to wash pollen or other allergens off your skin and hair before you try to go to sleep.
Sleep experts also note that a nighttime shower changes your body temperature and circadian rhythm in a way that may help you get to sleep faster and more easily. You might wake up with bed head from sleeping with wet hair all night, but it's up to your personal preference.
On the other side, if you are a morning person, and stick to showering during your morning routine, a morning rinse is said to help you get up and get creative.
Regardless of the time you prefer to shower, keep your water temperature mild. Experts say that it's better to use lukewarm water instead of taking a hot shower; steamy showers may feel great, but they also dry out your skin, especially if you have sensitive skin, dry skin, or acne-prone skin.

Affectionate Cat Breeds Who Just Want Your Love
Most cats love cuddling just as much as dogs, but these cat breeds are especially affectionate.
It's a common misconception that cats don't necessarily need humans to have a happy life. While it is undeniable that cats are more independent than dogs, some cat breeds are known to be more cuddly than others and rely on humans for those said cuddles.
Cheryl Hogan of The International Cat Association (TICA) offered her two cents on cat breeds she knows to have more a connection to their human counterparts. She told Pet MD that the following nine cat breeds are more likely "to go out of their way to snuggle right into your heart."
While all cats have unique and special personalities, these affectionate cat breeds seem more interested to sit on laps than being alone.

10 Homemade Kombucha Flavors Way Better Than Store-Bought
With homemade kombucha recipes, the flavor options are endless. Fresh berries, citrus fruits, herbs, spices, and even vegetables can be added to create unique kombucha flavor combinations.
Of course, you'll have to start with normal homemade kombucha, which is basically just fermented sweet tea. Making kombucha is less intimidating than it sounds, but it's important to understand the fermentation processor booch. Once you master the dos and don'ts with this nifty little guide, you'll be ready to put that new SCOBY to good use.
By bottling your own kombucha, you not only get to enjoy the fermented beverage at a lower price, but you reap all the health benefits, as well! Kombucha is packed with probiotics that aid in digestion and detox the body. It also has antioxidants, which depending upon your flavoring, can increase the health benefits. Delicious and downright good, with a tangy vinegary taste and just a bit of carbonation, making your own batch of kombucha is where it's at.
Before you get crazy with your kombucha flavors (apple, green tea, hibiscus, oolong, you name it!), you'll have to start with the basics for your first batch. The Healthy Maven has a step-by-step recipe that can get you started. What you'll need is a kombucha SCOBY (which is the symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast that causes fermentation), loose tea or tea bags, cane sugar, filtered water, and some already brewed kombucha - plus your equipment. That will include a glass jar or glass bottles, some cheesecloth (or a coffee filter or paper towel), and a rubber band to seal it, though the size of cloth will depend on your batch size.
Once you've figured out your basic kombucha recipe, the different flavors are endless! Kombucha brewing is a rewarding experience because you quite literally watch the continuous brew come to the perfect flavor. Brewing kombucha at home couldn't be more fun!

The Secret Ingredient Waffle House Adds to Their Omelettes
Waffle House may be known for a lot of their menu items (hash browns all the way! Bert's Chili with cheddar cheese, and Papa Joe's Pork Chops) Waffle House was founded by Joe Rogers in Georgia back in 1955, and since then, it's been regarded as a haven of breakfast food whatever time you visit.
Here's the secret to the famously fluffy Waffle House omelette.
Waffle House has plenty of options when it comes to its omelets. Go for the classic one with American cheese, choosing a side of grits, hash browns or tomatoes. Another popular menu item is the fiesta omelet, which features hickory-smoked ham, diced tomatoes, jalapenos, grilled onions and American cheese.
The secret to making the perfectly fluffy Waffle House omelette is all about whipping the eggs. Waffle House uses an industrial-strength milkshake mixer to whip the eggs until as fluffy as can be. You can copycat this cheese omelet at home by whipping your eggs until frothy. You could even use a blender!
Once your eggs are as frothy as can be, heat your pan on medium-high heat. Using vegetable oil or olive oil, allow your oil to heat up until ripples appear. Then, pour the beaten eggs into the pan. Allow the omelette to get firm, and then flip it. Leave it for 30 seconds without disturbing it, and then flip it back over. Allow your omelet to cook for another 30 seconds, placing the cheese on top. Then, fold the omelet to cover the cheese and take it off of the heat. Then enjoy your amazingly fluffy Waffle House omelet for brunch.
To make this recipe your own, add in the veggies or cheese variations you prefer! Ham & cheese is classic and cheddar cheese always adds flavor or put in some pepper jack for a kick. You can make it low-calorie by taking out the yolks and making an egg white omelet. However, the most important part is making your eggs as fluffy as they are at Waffle House!

Meet Angela Ruch: NASCAR Truck Series Driver and Pretty Cool Mom
NASCAR Truck Series driver Angela Ruch not only has the pressures of a high-stakes racing career, but she and husband Mike Ruch are also full-time parents. Based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, the Ruch family has grown to include three very small children.
For Angela Ruch, born Angela Cope, acing is a family deal. Her uncle is now part-time NASCAR Cup Series driver Derrike Cope, who also happens to be the 1990 Daytona 500 champion.
Her twin sister, Amber Cope, is a professional stock car racer, as well. In fact, the two of them made NASCAR history on October 23, 2010, as the first twins to compete in a top three series race. The day was pretty important for Angela and Amber, too, as it was their NASCAR debut in the Camping World Truck Series in Martinsville, Virginia.
In 2006, Angela Ruch and Amber Cope shared seat time in the ARCA Series. Things picked up in 2008, when Angela qualified 8th and finished 29th at the Kentucky Speedway.
Next came four NASCAR Xfinity Series starts in 2011, followed by a 2012 invitation to join SR2 Motorsports team, along with her sister, Jason White, and Benny Goodman.
Unfortunately, things weren’t exactly smooth sailing at this point. Though she would one day become the driver of the No. 00 Reaume Brothers Racing Chevrolet, Angela had a few years of spotty sponsorship, team jumping, and poor trips around the track. Still, that didn’t stop her from making her Gander Outdoor Truck Series debut at Daytona. Good thing, too, because she finished 8th in that race and became the first female driver to lead for eight laps, and the second woman to finish in the top 10.
In 2014, Angela married Mike Ruch, founder and CEO of Industrial Timber. Together, they have adopted three young children: King, Legend, and Lorde.
Together, the family has appeared on the Facebook Watch reality series The Ruch Life, an unscripted series which follows the family through the trials and tribulations of balancing the high-speed, high -takes racing career of a rising female driver, with the highs and lows of raising three small children.

Who's Ready for Alabama Football in 2021?
The Alabama Crimson Tide will always be king of the SEC. Head coach Nick Saban won his sixth national championship in Tuscaloosa after the school’s most prolific Tide offense ever rolled everyone, including Notre Dame and Ohio State, last season.
The 2020 season was one to remember for Alabama diehards. Wide receiver Devonta Smith won the Heisman Trophy. Quarterback Mac Jones gave him a run for his money, too. Even running back Najee Harris finished in the top five in voting.
Last year, Alabama played an entire 10-game regular season schedule featuring only conference opponents during the coronavirus pandemic. That included SEC East teams like Kentucky and Missouri. Still, that didn’t stop Alabama from pummeling teams week in and week out on ESPN and CBS.
Alabama’s 2021 slate features our beloved non-conference cupcake teams like Mercer, Southern Miss, New Mexico State and even Miami (yeah, ACC fans, I called the Hurricanes a cupcake team). The SEC schedule is slightly more daunting on the road.
‘Bama will travel to Gainesville to take on the Gators in September. Saban’s squad will also have to travel to College Station and Starkville to take on Texas A&M and Mississippi State, respectively, in October. At the end of November is everyone’s favorite: an Iron Bowl matchup against Auburn in The Plains.
That doesn’t mean Crimson Tide fans don’t get some thrillers at Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2021. After opening with Miami in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Alabama has home dates with Mercer, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU, New Mexico State and Arkansas. This might look like a tough schedule for an SEC team, but no schedule is too tough for Alabama.

10 Forgotten Classic Saturday Morning Cartoons from the '60s
Is anything more nostalgic than the memory of getting up before everyone in the house, fixing yourself a big bowl of sugary cereal with a prize at the bottom of the box, and adjusting the TV’s rabbit ears before settling down for some Saturday morning cartoons? Whether you saw these classic cartoon tv shows during their original runs or in tv series reruns on a channels like Disney or Cartoon Network, you’re due for a stroll down retro toon memory lane.
The Jetsons :Meet George Jetson! His boy Elroy! Daughter Judy! Jane, his wife! The Jetsons were one of many hits from the Hanna-Barbera animation studio and made it seem like the future was going to be all flying cars, robot housekeepers, jet packs, and moving sidewalks.
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: Think of all the crimes the bad guy cartoon characters in ghost costumes and monster masks would have gotten away with if it hadn’t been for those meddling kids Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and of course the ever-nervous Great Dane with absolutely no chill, Scooby Dooby Doo!
The Flintstones: The Flintstones, like The Jetsons, actually started out as a prime time cartoon before becoming a beloved staple of Saturday morning TV.
The Atom Ant/Secret Squirrel Show : A slightly more obscure offering from the Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoon universe, Atom Ant had an anthill akin to Batman’s Batcave, complete with massive computer and fancy exercise equipment, and would yell “Up and at ‘em, Atom Ant!” when flying at superspeed to another crime-fighting mission.
The Pink Panther Show: The Pink Panther started out as a character in the animated openings to the live action Pink Panther movie series, which featured the inept Inspector Clouseau attempting to solve crimes, including the disappearance of an enormous pink diamond nicknamed “The Pink Panther.”
The Bugs Bunny Show: Warner Bros.’ The Bugs Bunny Show was another cartoon that premiered in prime time on CBS before moving over to Saturday morning.
Top Cat: Another Hanna-Barbera favorite that started in prime time before becoming a Saturday morning cartoons favorite, Top Cat was an extremely dapper alley cat who was forever coming up with get rich quick schemes while leading a gang of fellow alley cats living in the excellently named Hoagie’s Alley in New York City.
The Huckleberry Hound Show: At the opposite end of the anthropomorphic cartoon animals spectrum was Huckleberry Hound, an extremely laid back coonhound with a slow Southern drawl and a seemingly endless array of jobs, including cowboy, chef, lion tamer, police officer, and farmer.
The Archie Show: Before the ridiculous live action show antics of Archie and the gang on Riverdale, Archie and the gang were a Saturday morning cartoon adaptation of the iconic Archie comic books.
Did we miss any of your favorite animated series? Space Ghost? Dino Boy? The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends? The Impossibles? The Porky Pig Show? The New Adventures of Superman? Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales? Wacky Races? Shazzan? Jonny Quest? The Herculoids? The Magilla Gorilla Show? Underdog? Tom and Jerry? So many memories, so little time.

Kurt Russell's Dad, Bing Russell, Was a Baseball Legend and 'Bonanza' Star
Back before we had Hollywood icon Kurt Russell, we had his father, Bing Russell. Bing had a lengthy career in entertainment and paved the way for his son Kurt to follow in his footsteps. Though Bing and his wife Louise Julia Crone had four children during their long marriage, Kurt was the only one to follow his father's example in show biz. Though he's best known for his role in the iconic western television series Bonanza, Bing appeared in countless films and TV shows throughout his career.
Neil Oliver Russell "Bing" was born in Brattleboro, Vermont in 1926, but grew up around the spring training camp for the New York Yankees in St. Petersburg, Florida. He even became an unofficial mascot for the team while they were in town and became friends with some of the team's most notable Major League Baseball players like Joe Dimaggio and Lefty Gomez. Though he had already established a love of acting at his local high school, Bing also really loved baseball as a result of his close proximity to the Yankees every year. In fact, after he graduated with his business degree from Dartmouth, Bing even played minor league baseball before moving out to Hollywood in California.
Bing's acting career kicked off in the film Cavalry Patrol. Though he had numerous uncredited roles throughout the 50s, he ended the decade by booking the role of "Deputy Clem Foster" in Bonanza. The actor's fame he received playing the deputy (and later sheriff) on the popular western series led to numerous more roles in the Old West. He appeared on all of the iconic classics -- Rawhide, Gunsmoke, The Big Valley, The Virginian, The Rifleman, Wagon Train, The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, The Untouchables, and even Little House On The Prairie. He also appeared on some of the other popular shows on the air like The Andy Griffith Show, I Dream Of Jeannie, The Munsters, The Monkees, Highway Patrol, The Donna Reed Show, The Twilight Zone, and The Rockford Files. He was even in the TV adaptation of The Fugitive.
His ability to expertly play cowboy characters also translated into major films. You probably remember Bing's role as Robert in The Magnificent Seven. He was the traveling companion of Henry (Val Avery). He also appeared in the Don Knotts classic The Apple Dumpling Gang
Longtime fans of Kurt Russell know that he began his acting career as a child. He appeared opposite his father in the Disney film the computer wore tennis shoes and later in the TV movie about Elvis Presley's life, Elvis. Kurt played the titular character and Bing played his onscreen father, Vernon Presley.
It seems that later in life, Bing just couldn't shake that love of baseball and decided to do something about it. In the 70s, he owned the Portland Mavericks, the only independent team in the Class A Northwest League. Unlike the typical professional baseball team, Bing's motto was "fun." He went so far as to keep things fun that he even kept all corporate sponsorships outside of the gate so that the ballpark was fully focused on the game on the side. As a result, they had the highest attendance in minor league history. But Bing didn't stop there. He also hired the first female general manager in minor league baseball (Lanny Moss). His son Kurt even played for the team in their inaugural season in 1973. Unfortunately, after five seasons, Portland bought the team from Bing in order to upgrade the Class AAA Portland Beavers to minor league status. There was even a documentary about the team made in 2014, The Battered Bastards of Baseball.
The actor passed away in his home of Thousand Oaks, California in 2003 after losing a battle to cancer. Throughout his life, Bing Russell made a name for himself as a beloved television actor. His impact on minor league baseball and love of the game will also always be remembered.

Meet Kris Kristofferson's 8 Children, From Soap Opera Star Jesse to Country Singer Casey
Imagine growing up in the shadow of Kris Kristofferson: a former helicopter pilot, golden gloves boxer and Rhodes Scholarship recipient who'd become more of a renaissance man as one of the greatest singer-songwriters to emerge from Nashville and a featured actor in numerous Hollywood productions (from Barbra Streisand's A Star is Born to Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Heaven's Gate and the Blade trilogy).
On the flipside, if your dad studied at Oxford University before going on to write "Help Me Make It Through the Night," "For the Good Times," "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down," "Why Me", "The Silver Tongued Devil and I," Bob Dylan's "They Killed Him" and other classics and join Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings in country music supergroup The Highwaymen, then you only need to inherit one of his many talents to have a leg up on your peers.
Kristofferson's eight children follow his songwriting or acting legacy in their own way, whether they're performing on stage, in front of a camera, in a wrestling ring or in the legal sphere.
Tracy Kristofferson (Born January 9, 1962)
Kristofferson's daughter Tracy is one of two children from his marriage to Fran Beer, his high school sweetheart from San Mateo, Cal. The Stanford graduate is an actor and producer, credited on IMDB for the films A Place to Grow (1995), Night of the Cyclone (1990) and Trouble in Mind (1985). She's the ex-wife of Richard Tyson, the American actor best known as the bad guy from Kindergarten Cop.
Kris Kristofferson Jr. (Born in 1968)
Less is known about Tracy's brother, except that he got passed down the most famous name this side of Hank Williams Jr.
Casey Kristofferson (Born in 1974)
The lone child of Kris Kristofferson and his second wife, fellow recording artist Rita Coolidge, inherited her parents' musical talents. Casey's a North Carolina-based touring and recording artist and the leader of the Casey Kristofferson Band.
Jesse Kristofferson (Born Oct. 7, 1983)
After Kristofferson and Coolidge ended their marriage in 1980, he met his third wife Lisa Meyers at a gym in Malibu. The couple married in 1983 and are still together, spending much of their time in Maui, Hawaii. Meyers has helped her husband navigate an early onset Alzheimer's diagnosis that was later identified as Lyme disease.
The first of Kristofferson's five children with Meyers, Jesse caught the acting bug, leading to roles on the Melrose Place reboot (2010) plus a 2012 run on long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives.
Jody Kristofferson (Born May 21, 1985)
Jody took the Kristofferson family's need to perform for an audience in a new direction. He's a professional wrestler, billed as Garrett Dylan during his 2012-2014 run in the WWE's developmental system and known by his birth name on the independent scene. He's teamed at times with fellow wrestler Dalton Frost as the Sons of Texas.
Johnny Kristofferson (Born in 1988)
Like his mother before him, Johnny studied law at Pepperdine University. He now works in California as an attorney.
Kelly Marie Kristofferson (Born in 1991)
Kristofferson's youngest daughter inherited more than one of his talents. She's also an actor, singer and instrumentalist.
She's married to painter Aydin Hamami.
Read More: Hank Williams Jr., Marty Stuart to be Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame
Blake Kristofferson (Born in 1994)
Like Kris Jr., there's minimal information out there about Blake, except that he, too, has a degree from Pepperdine.
