I finally got my second Raptoreum mining rig up. The problem was getting a new CPU to work in an previous generation supported motherboard. The Chipsets support the newer 5900 series processors with a bios update. What happens when you don't have an old processor to update the bios first? You really only have three options. 1. buy or barrow an old processor to upgrade the bios first. 2. Buy a motherboard with the latest and greatest chipset that has a bios that supports the 5900 series processor. 3. Buy a motherboard with flashback feature that allows you recover the bios without a CPU. I'm sure I'm not the only one having this problem. I'm done with the spindle, stepper and drivers. I also installed some home switches. I still have to design and printer the rear driver and breakout board cover. I provisioned a 12V out to power a 80mm fan. Once I get this thing moving the brushless controller and drivers will get hot. I decided to get another one of these. I not sure if BigTreeTech bought FYSETC or what. This BigTreeTech is has an identical PCB layout as a FYSETC 2.0. Color touchscreen LCD look cool but they are pretty much useless if you need advanced features to tune your printer. My CPU temperature was getting so hot it was shutting down my rig. For me 1.1 volt seems to do the trick without making the CPU unstable. My temprature change was about 15-20 degrees cooler. I finally sat down and figured out my Samsung camcorders intermittand viewfinder problem. In my case it was a bad ribbon cable. I cant find replacement parts and its not worth putting money into it.
