Talking parrot flawlessly imitates the sound of water
African grey parrots are known for their uncanny ability to imitate the sound and Einstein the parrot incredibly imitates the sound of water. Perch on his play swing, he asks, for water, then makes the sound! "Want this one?" He asked as if offering you a drink. He holds his foot to his beak as if to take an imaginary drink. "It's good" he proclaims, then after a clicking sound, he says "drink of water". Finally, he hilariously imitates a gulping sound that he has heard his owners make when drinking water. This is very unusual as parrots don't naturally make this sound when drinking.
Einstein the Talking Texan Parrot is a silly, smart, and popular parrot who loves to talk and entertain! He knows the names of several animals and likes to make their sounds. In addition to his silly vocalizations, he likes to have conversations with his owners, talking, doing animal sound imitations and acting silly. A parrot such as Einstein can live to be 50 or 60 years old. Many larger parrots like Macaws can live to be 100 years old. They all require a lot of care, proper nutrition, training, time and patience. Parrots need a lot of attention and lots of toys and activities to keep from being bored. Parrots are also expensive, a large cage is an investment and plenty of play perches to spend their out of cage time. Specialized veterinarian care is also required. Most of all they require your companionship and a forever home. Many people decide after the first few years of parrot ownership that the responsibility is too great and the parrots become neglected and sometimes abandoned. When that happens they are sent to parrot rescue facilities to be adopted by a new family or some spend their lives in sanctuaries. It is often said, "Having a parrot is much like raising a 2 or 3 year old child for the rest of your life!"

Prying parrot goes snooping in bathroom cabinets
Do you ever wonder if guests ever snoop in your bathroom cabinets while using the facilities? Einstein would be guilty of such an action! Here you'll see him crawl up the side of the cabinet like a superhero, maneuvering himself into a position to place his feet on the handles. Then he pulls the door toward him with success, only to be surprised to see a baby lock installed on the door! That doesn't seem to slow him down as he is equipped with a beak which he uses to push down on the lock. He pokes his head inside the cabinet to take a closer look. He reaches in as far as he can and then shuts the door. Thinking he needs to take a second and third look, he repeats his actions and decides there is nothing of interest to him. He crawls and with a flap of his wings, he is on top of the counter. Doesn't he look innocent? Would you invite Einstein to your home?

Affectionate parrot gives duck statue a kiss
Einstein the parrot likes to visit the duck statues that stand in the corner of the bathroom. The duck's names were inspired by Einstein when he made up the saying, "Quack Crazy", as can be seen in this video, https://rumble.com/v73a3x-this-parrot-is-quack-crazy.html. The one on the left is named Quack, the one on the right is named, Crazy. First, he gives them a friendly wave, then Einstein's owner asks Einstein to give Crazy a kiss. Einstein turns to the duck and gives it 3 kisses! Then Einstein puts his foot on the duck to give it a hug. Einstein understood what his owner was telling him and he chose to give kisses. He is not trained to do this and there was no food reward offered. This demonstrates that parrots are capable of cognitive understanding.

Generous parrot offers imaginary squirrel a nut
Einstein has a vivid imagination as he perches on top of the shower talking about the cute squirrels he watches when he goes outside. He says, "Look at the squirrel"! He whistles a pretty little tune and his owner agrees that they have a lot of squirrels today. Einstein then asks, "Wanna Nut?" His little foot is clenched as if he is holding an imaginary nut out to a squirrel. He also gives some reassurance, saying "It's OK". Any squirrel couldn't resist a nut from you, Einstein!

Talking parrot plans out lovely dinner buffet
Einstein is outside on his screen porch planning a dinner buffet. He mentions his owner, Jeff who must be helping him plan the event. Grapes, water, and cookies will be served in abundance. As Einstein expresses his desires for other culinary delights he raises his foot to his beak as if he is enjoying every delicious, but an invisible morsel of food. He also makes lip-smacking sounds, which is amazing since he has no lips! He mentioned that there will be dancing, but decides that might not be a good idea and said, "Oops, sorry"! Other tasty items on the buffet will include mango, broccoli, carrot, sweet potato, pepper, and corn. I hope Einstein will invite me to this wonderful feast!

Parrot face-plants while playing with toy
Einstein heard his owner crinkling up a sheet of parchment paper and it caught his attention. Almost any household object can become a parrot toy! The owner wrapped a small block of wood in the paper and let Einstein play with it. Einstein was excited and jumped on the new toy. He lunged at it and did a quick spin. He acted as if it was some kind of interloper invading his territory. Then, he investigated it with his feet and his beak. His owner tapped the toy on the counter and he lunged again. This time he almost did a somersault and face-planted himself on the counter. It was a one-second move that he quickly recovered from and landed safely on his feet. He was determined to conquer this paper beast! It's amazing how agile parrots can be.

Talking parrot wants a larger slice of cantaloupe
Einstein's owner gave him a parrot sized portion of cantaloupe, but he was not satisfied with a small piece and he helped himself to a larger portion. Cantaloupe is a very nutritious snack for both humans and parrots. They are high in fiber, potassium, vitamin C, and choline. Parrots love the sweet flavor of this delicious fruit. One must keep in mind that what is an appropriate serving size for a human is not appropriate for a parrot. A cube about the size of a domino is about the right size for a parrot. However, you have to give Einstein credit for knowing what's good and wanting a bigger piece!

Talented parrot dances the Tango with a spoon
Einstein loves to play with spoons! Soup spoons, teaspoons, serving spoons, metal spoons, and wooden spoons! All spoons are the perfect toy as he likes the clinking sound they make on the floor or the counter. He started playing with this small wooden spoon one day on the counter. This spoon is designed to be a child's toy, so it is just his size and make a different sound than a larger wooden cooking spoon. Einstein bangs it on the counter and throws it onto the floor. His owner picks it up each time and throws it back on the counter where he grabs it, spins and twirls it around. It appears as if he was dancing with the spoon! Einstein, I'll be your dancing partner any day!

Discriminating parrot closely inspects his salad
Einstein the parrot loves to help in the kitchen and is willing to help with the preparation of vegetables. He stands by to nibble on whatever is being chopped or minced. As the salad is rinsed and drys in the strainer, he inspects the pieces of lettuce very thoroughly. He meticulously sorts through them tossing some out of the bowl while others pass inspection. He's a wonderful sous chef, but he does eat most of the profits!

Talking parrot predicts winner of the Kentucky Derby
The Kentucky Derby is a horse race that is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, on the first Saturday in May. Three-year-old Thoroughbreds race one and a quarter miles at Churchill Downs. The race is also called "The Run for the Roses" because of the blanket of roses draped over the winner. Also known in the United States as The Most Exciting Two Minutes In Sports in reference to its duration. The Kentucky Derby has been run every consecutive year since 1875.
Einstein is a big fan of the Kentucky Derby. Even though he's from Texas, he loves to watch the horses race. There are so many festivities, and he likes to see the ladies wearing pretty hats. He won't be wearing a derby, instead he chose to tear it up, but not before he predicted that the winning horse will be War of Wills with 20-1 odds. We'll have to watch on Saturday if War of Wills has what it takes to win.

Parrot gives heartwarming welcome as owner returns from trip
Jeff returns home after being away for a week and surprises Einstein the parrot. The reaction is priceless! Einstein waves and is so happy to see him! Although you might not think that birds show emotion the same way as some animals, it is obvious to those familiar with parrot body language that this is truly a happy parrot. Einstein nibbles (or preens) Jeff's nose which is considered a sign of affection. Lots of kisses and raspberries were also exchanged! Rasperries is a little game Jeff and Einstein have played since Einstein was very young, just like blowing into a babies tummy to make the baby laugh. Einstein loves it when Jeff does this and is a gesture of affection. Welcome home Jeff!

Talking parrot enjoys a very Happy Easter!
Einstein runs after and grabs the little wind-up chicks and bunny toys as they hop along the counter. It may appear as if they are invading Einstein's territory. No worries, Einstein is just having fun! It's a game and he loves to catch them and toss them to the floor. Perhaps this is Einstein's idea of an Easter parade. Good job Einstein! Hoppy Easter!

Parrot sweet talks the backyard squirrels
Einstein loves to perch on his swing and watch the squirrels in the backyard. This particular afternoon he was very excited to go see the squirrels. He even threated them by saying, "I'm gonna get you!" If Einstein was a dog, those squirrels had better watch out! However, Einstein is a lover and won't be chasing them. Instead, he'll watch them from the safety of his screen porch and comments, "Hi, you're so sweet. Gimmie kiss!" Followed by the sounds of kissing. With that kind of talk, Einstein romances all the squirrels!

Hospitable Talking Parrot Enjoys Imaginary Dinner
Einstein is enjoying himself on the screen porch and pretends he is drinking water as he holds an imaginary cup with his foot. He then makes a drinking sound as he takes an imaginary sip. Inviting you to dine he says, " Come here sweet!" He then asks, " Want some?" He tells you how good it is and makes a lip-smacking sound. However, parrots don't have lips, so he is imitating the sound a human would make while smacking their lips. He then continues, inviting you to dine with him. Carrots and broccoli are on the menu. The broccoli is green, and there must be something purple. After such a wonderful meal, he announces, " bombs away!" Which is a word he associates with going to the bathroom? (Thanks for the warning Einstein!) After the meal, Einstein must have someplace else to go because he needs to go get dressed. Have a nice day Einstein!

Einstein the Talking Parrot is a spoon thief!
Einstein the parrot may look like a sweet and innocent bird, but deep down he is a thief. He lurks around the kitchen waiting for his victim to be left unattended in the dish drainer. He makes his move and captures his prey. Then he slides down the water faucet with the spoon in the clutches of his beak. He makes his getaway around the perilous curves of the sink and heads towards his kitchen drawer where he is caught red handed! Gotcha Einstein!

Talking parrot has superhero style of movement
Einstein loves to perch on top of the shower and has devised a unique way to get a drink of water. He will crawl across the wall using his feet and beak in a Spiderman type fashion. There is only a 1/2 inch ledge that he grabs with his beak. He then lifts himself up and grabs hold with his toes. Using his other foot to propel into another position where he can grab with his beak again. He repeats this until he reached the shower faucet. He wants a drink of water so his owner promptly turned on the water for him to take a drink. He changed his mind and decided he didn't want a drink. Instead, he wanted to come down off the shower. As soon as the owner opened the door to turn off the water, Einstein headed directly for the door frame and slid down, much like Batman repelling from a building! Einstein, you've got impressive moves! His owners don't know if they should nickname Einstein Batbird, or Spiderbird! Talking parrot can quack like a duck
Einstein the parrot often entertains his owners as he chats away on the kitchen counter. He likes to practice his "fowl" repertoire. Saying quack crazy and asking, what's a duck. He then vocalizes a rooster sound and asks, what a roos? Roos is the word Einstein invented for rooster. He knows how to say rooster, he just prefers to shorten the word sometimes. Einstein loves to make up new phrases. Like human children he enjoys imitating the sounds of various animals. He knows a duck makes the quack sound, but he takes it a step farther and combines it with another word like crazy to say quack crazy. He does this because he knows it will make his owners laugh and it gets him attention. Another reason he does it, the owners believe is because the words have the same sound at the beginning.
Einstein's vocabulary is so vast that he has invented many other phrases using alliteration. He also likes to whistle and goes into a little song and dance routine with his owner whistling in the background. Parrot And Owner Share Very Special Bond
Einstein and Jeff have always had a special relationship. The bond that they have involves a great deal of trust. This is important with a parrot, as a parrot will bond for life in the wild. They depend on their flock mate for safety and survival. Einstein will allow Jeff to put him inside and up through his shirt. This would not be possible with a parrot that doesn't trust you. The parrot would bite you very hard and inflict injury!
Einstein loves to nibble and preen the very fine hairs on Jeff's face. This behavior is very much like a parrot preening and taking care of his flock mates feathers as parrots often preen each others head feathers. Does Einstein think of Jeff as a big parrot without feathers? Yes, I believe he does!

Talking parrot gives warning as he backs up
Einstein the parrot loves to spend time in the office while his owner works from home. Standing on an old TV, Einstein was providing the entertainment! Chattering away, Einstein began to make a beeping sound and at the same time he took a few steps backwards. He was imitating a back-up beeper, also known as back-up alarm, backup beeper, or vehicle motion alarm. A warning device used on trucks or large vehicle to warn passers-by of the vehicle moving in reverse. Einstein likes to perch by the kitchen window and he no doubt has observed a few trucks doing this outside. The garbage truck that passes every week would be a good example. Also, service vehicles like yard workers and other delivery trucks. Thanks for the warning! I wouldn't want to get in your way Einstein!

Parrot performs 'Doo-Wop' song in the shower
Who doesn't like to sing in the shower? Einstein certainly does and is particularly fond of Doo-wop music. Doo-wop is a type of rhythm and blues music developed in the 1940s. It features vocal group harmony, with a melodic line to a simple beat, little or no instrumentation was used. Lyrics are simple, and in Einstein's version, very simple. Doo-wop gained popularity in the 1950s, and enjoyed its peak in the early 1960s. It continues to influence performers in other genres and has seen revivals in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Einstein has his original style of Doo-wop. He sings a few notes and then stops to laugh. Then remarks, "Sweet, sweet, sweet!"

Living with a parrot is a big commitment. Parrots live a very long time.

Parrot takes down Brussels sprout Christmas Tree
It's not any fun to take down and put away the decorations after Christmas! However, Einstein the parrot doesn't mind! He seems to enjoy the chore and does a really good job too!
The Christmas trees we buy to put in our homes aren't bird safe due to the preservatives and insecticides that they may get sprayed with. This Brussels sprout stalk is natural and parrot safe! It was decorated with cranberries wedged into the sprouts. Nuts and popcorn would of made nice decorations too. Einstein enjoys tearing and shredding the stalk more than he enjoys eating it. He did nibble on it a little, but it is mostly just a nice foraging and enrichment activity. Also, don't leave the tree up longer than 8-10 hours. It does spoil and you you don't want any bacteria growing.
