Ever gotten so impatient waiting for God to answer your prayers that you decided to take matters into your own hands? How did it work out for you? Not like you wanted? No doubt, waiting for God to speak to you patiently is always the best path.

The Jews of Jesus' day were oblivious to the many prophecies that predicted the coming of the Messiah and prophecies that gave clear identification marks to identify him. Just as they were oblivious, perhaps intentionally blind, so Americans today are oblivious and perhaps intentionally blind to all the prophecies of His soon appearance.

The Church of Jesus Christ is an advancing army (or it should be) invading Satan's Kingdom. You and I both know that Satan does not want to passively give up those he thinks are his. Therefore when the gospel comes to a home where one hears the good news and others hear hatred, well expect fireworks. That's what Jesus meant when he said he came to bring a sword. Indeed.

When my daughters were much younger, and I had been away for a few days, they were very anxious to welcome me home with lots of hugs and kisses. That sentiment ought to be our focus as well on the Second Coming of our Lord Yeshua Meshiach. Anticipating his return will cause us to keep our lamps burning which is to me a symbol of being filled with the Holy Spirit. Unless we enter the dark days ahead filled with the Spirit we are likely to struggle with a lack of faith. No one needs that. So, keep your eye on the prize.

But Jesus, who is infinitely more powerful than Satan tells us to "Fear NOT!" Why? Because he says that the Father is pleased to grant us the entire Kingdom of God. Everything he has, everything we need is at our disposal. Hard to believe? Maybe. But it is time to start exercising our faith, before we are in the thick of it. Enjoy.

In Luke 12:13-21 Jesus addresses the vast crowd (30,000 plus) gathered somewhere in Judea and talks about how our lives do not consist of the abundance of our possessions. What a counter-cultural idea. Are you good with that? This is practical application we can all use in our lives today.

God's omniscience is a fabulous blessing for believers but a dread to unbelievers. Why? Because believers want their heavenly Father to know everything about them so that he can disciple them perfectly. Unbelievers dread the omniscience of God because deep down they know they will be judged for everything they do and even for every secret thought. These warnings issued by Jesus to the crowd were intended to bring the small group of seekers to repentance while leaving the hardened in their sins.

Who can you trust to provide truth about eternal life? What if one pastor tells you there is more than one way to heaven? Do you believe him? What if two pastors tell you that or three pastors or four? Is there safety in numbers? NO! The Bible is your only source of truth and there is only one correct interpretation of the Bible. What you view, what you listen to, what you fantasize about all affects your soul. You can either put light inside your body to cause your soul to thrive and stay tuned to the Holy Spirit or you can darken your soul and lose your connection to the Holy Spirit. Your choice. Ever felt like forcing God to prove Himself to you like I once did? Don't do it. It is arrogant. Jesus tells the Pharisees who were demanding such a sign (after he had already proven himself through many amazing miracles) that they would be getting only one final sign, his resurrection. And in reality, that is the only sign unbelievers need today to believe in Jesus. Asking for more is only a smokescreen and evidence of raw unbelief.

Malachi will tell us from God's lips that we struggle financially because we do not give him the firstfruits. Are you making that same mistake?

What does Gideon of Judges 6 fame have to do with Jesus? Isaiah tells us they are linked. Gideon defeated a Midianite army 1,000 times bigger than his mere 300. Makes no sense right? Jesus defeated our greatest enemy Satan at the cross, the weakest of all methods to conquer a powerful foe. This is what makes the Gospel so wonderful. God's ways of redemption are not our ways at all. Aren't we glad?

When evangelizing, is it a good idea to address the forces of darkness that are currently influencing the person you are witnessing to? Jesus said that we cannot take away Satan's possessions, (souls) until we first bind the strong man. I think that is good advice.
