Transcript:
Which is probably why now all of a sudden there's this real fancy automatic $300 flare tool, available online because the air conditioning guys are making so much money that they can afford to buy platinum covered, they'll be something there'll be a 2 to $3000 flaring tool come out. They'll massage your back while you're doing it. You put it on like a armor thing. Believe me, these guys are making way too much money.
But so are electricians and plumbers. The those guys don't. They buy big buildings and fancy trucks and I believe too greedy. And then all the inspectors are all kind of their buddies, you know, even though they fail them from time to time because they all believe in having high end stuff done. Is it necessary? No. Are you going to deal with it?
Yes. You’ll have to deal with it. The fact that you know, that they're ripping you off. That don't make you feel better that they're making a huge, exorbitant amount of money that doesn't make you better either. But you don't. You didn't go through the route of learning how to be an air conditioned guy or a plumber or elect... electrician. You learn to do something else.
So that's the choices that they have now. By the way, the guys who do the actual work, they don't get paid that much. They don't get paid as much as a dump truck driver generally. Unless you live in a union town or state. They don't get paid that much. The owner, that’s who gets paid. So you really have to learn about air conditioning and then become an owner in order to make the money that they're making for the company.
So don't be so mad at the technician who comes out because he doesn't get paid that huge money. It's the owner of the business. And that might be the technician that you're dealing with. If he's the just starting out, he's just putting that money into his pocket. Is that a three ton air conditioning updraft or downdraft? It's like with the split system, not like this three grand, three grand.
But they're not going to charge you four or five grand to put it in. They're going to charge you anywhere from 7 to 12000. That's not a new that's reusing the ductwork you already have. So if we know that there's some pipe to be put in and there's some Freon to be put in, there's labor, we can allow thousand dollars. So we got four grand in and the charging somewhere between seven and 12.
Tell me if there is a lot of profit in that. Plumbers charging $2,500 to put in water heaters, a lot of profit. The water heater is anywhere from 6 to $800. Check valves, 100 bucks or so expansion tank, 40-50, labor to put it in less than less than 500. So you're at seven 800 total charge and 2500. Yeah.
Plumbers, electricians, electricians in the future will be making a ton of money because you don't know. It's like your mechanic you don't know how to fix. You did not learn that they did. They're the ones out in the weather everyday getting dirty. So you're going to have to deal with it. Yeah. Hopefully you can find somebody. This makes a modest amount of money.
All right. We'll let you go.

I was told by my boys who were younger than me and probably more in touch with the younger generation or what's going on. Tick tock. But there are some worry about red lights in vents, particularly in the bathroom. This is a fan to pull out the smells and the moisture and there's a light and there's a red light in there. So that might make you think that somebody's spying on you. So let's take a look.
Now, that is just a light, not a camera. There's a light to let you know this thing has power to it. So if the fan goes out, how do I know that? Because I installed this. There is no there is no camera. See... Is that a switch. See, now the power’s off okay. So I want you to relax a little bit more when you're on your vacation, Airbnb or whatever you're doing it for, because that's definitely not a camera.

Transcript:
Well, if you're wanting to get into your fan, in your exhaust fan for your bathroom slash, wherever there happens to be a fan that pulls out air mostly in the bathroom, you might not know how to get into that. And you might worry oh and pull in on it. It's doing weird feeling, it makes me feel insecure about maybe I'm going to break it.
You pull it down like so and see how it hangs there. If you look at it, there's some slots up in there and this spring type. So these things here, you have to squeeze them together and it keeps it from pulling all the way out of that round part right there. So you squeeze it together and it comes out and you see the slots in there on both sides.
This is where the screws are. But right here, you want to push that together like so. Same with this one. Push it together, and then this. Hang in there again. Now you slide it just to flip. Then you can look in there, see if the fan sometimes the fan motors go out and you can replace those fan motors.
Sometimes you just might want to clean in there. I've seen it where they're pretty full of spider nests and webs, all kinds of stuff. So if you want to get up into your exhaust, your exhaust fan in your bathroom, that's how you do it.

What Is The Red Light In Vent #Shorts #diy
Worried about the red light in a bathroom vent? Phil takes one apart to show you what it is.
Evidently, I didn't know there's a complaint on people that rent Airbnb is and such that there are lights pointing to the maybe that somebody is watching them. So if you look up here, you see this red light. Let’s look and see if that's a camera.
Now, you see that right there? That's not a camera. And the reason I know that is because I put this in. There is no camera in there. That is just something they decided to put in to let you know when you got power to it. So I want you guys to rest easy that there is no camera looking at you because there's a little red light there.
Nowadays, they have cameras that won’t have lights. So that doesn't make you feel better, I'm sure. But relax a little bit more. That's not a camera.

Do Vanna White. This is not a Vanna White situation in the toilet. The is plugged up and we have some Drano, Max, we're going to try. This time last time we did Liquid Fire, which I’ve had success with and it says to pour a fifth of the bottle. And we're going to give it a shot. It is not what you normally put in a toilet. And then we're going to let it sit for a while and see what happens. We'll come back to you then.
So we gave it a lot of time. And this Drano pro strength max gel didn’t do the job even though you're not... Supposed to. You’re not supposed to put it in the toilet. It's been done. It does work, you know, for other people. But not in this case, it didn’t, and now I've got to deal with all this excess water and maybe the plunger and the Draino together. Here I am, I’d rather have the liquid fire. See you guys.
Took 20%. Let us sit for 20 minutes. Didn't make any difference. We poured the whole bottle in there. It went ahead and did the work. So maybe you ought to pour the whole bottle. Just to let you know, if you want to spend $12 to do that, then there you go. See you.

Installing A Mini Split - Complete Cassette Head
Phil's installing a 3 headed mini split air conditioner for a customer. Here they are completely installing one of the cassette heads.
Pioneer Inverter Ultra High Efficiency Heat Pump 3 head mini split.
⏱️⏱️Chapters⏱️⏱️
00:00 Intro
00:12 Installing a 3 headed mini-split
00:25 One of the heads will be going through a double ceiling
00:45 Took a drill and bit and drilled out the corners where we need to cut
01:05 Went upstairs to mark the plywood
01:45 Made the cut marks
02:15 Going to cut the drywall
02:40 Back after pulling the drywall out
02:50 Scored the drywall with razor knife and cut with an oscillating saw
03:08 Put a paddle bit wider that the saw blade and drill the corners
04:00 Something you may run into when measuring
04:15 The jog in the hole is for the freon lines
04:35 Before cutting, make sure there's no electrical above you
04:45 They ran into that with one of the heads
04:55 The instructions are for offices, not good for putting in a house
05:13 This job has several complications. They have to adjust to.
03:20 Cutting the plywood
06:10 Be careful of falling debris
06:25 Need to move insulation back... The heat is flooding into the room
06:50 Put boards to support the area
07:20 The area for your freon lines you'll have to support too
08:00 Pattern for the shape of the head
08:25 The pattern shows a gap, you're not going to have it when it comes to rafters
08:45 They are doing the second head
08:55 Where the control wires go
09:50 Installation manual, pretty specific for acoustical ceiling
10:05 He's showing you how to put it into a home
10:20 The supports are in the blue package
10:50 The drain and freon lines for the head
11:05 Where the lines will be pointing
11:30 Electrical will come in there. You're using a 5/8 wrench
12:00 Installing the support bars
14:25 You have to keep an eye on the support to make sure it's facing where you need it to
15:00 2 supports are done
15:45 Want to be careful when rolling the head over
16:10 Leave enough room on the bottom to adjust it if you have to
16:50 The kit has anchors for concrete
17:30 You could use the anchors if it was inside a wall, but probably won't need them
18:00 Cut a piece of wood to keep the head 7/8 above the ceiling
18:20 Using 1/4" roofing screws
18:52 Not really a one person job trying to get the head up there
19:10 Woops, cut the area wrong
19:20 Need to cut the other corner out
19:45 Had to move the freon lines and cut another hole
20:00 You can't have the freon lines going out, may have to adjust
21:00 Using roofing screws to fasten it
21:45 The fun of working with someone you can't see
23:00 Only thing stays same is everything changes
23:10 Heavy or awkward?
24:50 The small piece of board is a measuring device
26:10 The box for the cassette head cover
26:50 Little tiny package of screws in the box
27:10 The cover doesn't go on just any old way
27:35 The wires have to go to a specific space
27:45 Where the wires have to go
28:25 To put the screws in you have to take one of the covers off
29:55 Tight fit

All right. So this says four-way cassette, but we're doing three-way pioneer. This is the box for the cover. Don’t lose these. Yeah, a little tiny package of screws inside the box, you don’t want to lose them, because that's what goes into those four areas right here. Now. Hold up. I’ll get you a gun. This does not. This cover does not go.
Really, we need to take that cover off. Why? So when we come back through and hook up all the electrical units. You have us do. But we’re not doing that, just yet. Where we can just this comes down, we can get into. All right. So these wires have to go on a specific place and they go in right here. So that means... Over one more. Other way. Just keep going right one more, like that. So right.
There you go. Like that. There. And by the way, that's tape in here you can pull out. Well, they can reach that from the outside. Yeah. Now this is these wires have to go. They show up right here. I already showed them. So these wires has to be where they can reach into there. And that's that you... You’ll see when you get in there, you'll see where they go. They're pretty. And we'll show you self-explanatory. Now, to put the screws. These screws in, you have to take this cover off. Now, you push these little springs like that, and this will literally pull out. And these can hang. All right.
Remember, this is going to go back over. And this seven-eighths right here is why we got to have that 7/8 that. I don't know if your going to... Watch out. The one I’ve got, put the washer on that. Yeah. If issue is you're right up against the wall on the other side there. Oh yeah. Your, uh... We have no screw? Here you go. Hold that for showing. A little bit of finagling, right Dad? A little bit of adjustment. Finesse.
You know I can look up in here and see where the screws in relation to the hole. I don’t want to over tighten it. One more screw? You may have to cut this out. Yeah.

Not really a one person job more of a two, probably a three person job. You got that wrong. Ooh, that’s not gonna work. Nope. Come back down. You got it cut wrong. Okay. So this one's got to turn this way. We got to cut this corner out. Come on down here. Did you get down like that. All the all of them got to be changed to the bracket. So I'll lower down to he Fisher to this whole. You can just cut another hole right next to it, Dad. I know what you're saying. I don't think it will let me...
I want you to know that we end up having to move the freon line over here. Change the brackets. I made a hole on this end so that we wouldn't hit the rafters on this side. So that might not be anything but the choice you have is that so it'll come out the side if you turn it this way or go into the rafters.
You can't have the free lines going out, have to go inside the rafters. So here we go. It's kind of heavy. Probably 40 lbs, more awkward than heavy. 40 or 50. I’m hanging up on something up there. You’re good. together. Which one you want to fasten to first? Let’s do this one. What's this corner? That's my... I’ll leave it right here. Good. Yeah. He's using roofing screws, that have a quarter inch drive and a washer. But you can use what you need to.
You want to do the other side this thing in? there. So. It’s not going to reach right there or I'll get you this other this corner. All right. I went over there. Bomb. You need me to come over there behind you? I got it. All right.
The one closest to the. The wall, the kitchen in the barn there. It, I suppose, should be reaching that one to the end, Drew. Can't get us through. Got in there. Right. The other corner through. What do you talk about? We're going to the other corner. Which one? I didn't want to. Here. I can be over there. Do you.
Go ahead. I'll hold that, for you. I got it. I don’t know why I need a board. Less group of interest. I guess we need a board on top of that one. Yeah. Is that? What are you going to need on the other side? A short piece. Always plan for things to change right, Dad?
Right there. Is it heavy? Or is it more just strain? After having your arms up there for a while, ya. It’s like the guy pushing the ball up the hill, Dad. Yep.
What do you need to do that? All right, do you want to do the other end? What would the tip go that was in it? Let me have that tip over there.
He needs to go up a little bit? No, he's got right where he needs. Right there. I think all the uncomfortability you're getting right now, he's way more uncomfortable. People pay to work out. I work out. You know, he's cooking. You're just straining to talk about a weird hand. What about this other side over here. I need a very short vertical 2 by.
Did you already explain them what that is? That's his measuring device. Ya, I already explained. Somewhere in there. That stuff you got to plan for, right? Losing screws. I have a screw lose. All right. Happy? I’ll be happy when it’s done. You'll be happy when it's blowing cold, right?

Transcript:
Now all the dirty work is done. We actually used a razor knife to go and then score it, the drywall. We've been making fun of coaches that do the ‘Ahh’ in their interviews anyway. I scored the drywall with the razor knife and then used this oscillating saw and did it a lot faster. Next, I'll put a paddle bit in, big enough that I can get inside a hole big enough that I get the... Saw blade. Wood saw blade, sawzall blade in. So, then I drilled the corners.
Got that done. Now I'm going to hook up power to the sawzall and cut it out. Now, incase you might not have noticed I’m going to point out something. The head that's going to go up there is 22 and a half by 22 and a half. But we have learned if you just cut that size of the hole, there's two lines that stick out further. And they are for the freon lines, we've made a two inch by three or four inch area on one corner to allow because we're going to have the main unit outside over there with the left side window. We’ll have the freon lines going that way. Now, here we go making a big mess.
Probably, what I should suggest to you. Make sure that there’s no electrical up there. I was waiting for you to remind them. We actually had that on one of the heads. There was a line up there that went to an outlet all by itself. It just seemed like it was odd. Instructions are just for offices. Now the instructions are made for a acoustical slash. Ceiling grid. Foam ceiling type, so they don't really work very well with putting it in a house.
But you can do it. And this is what we're doing. We're actually having one has to tin on the ceiling, then plywood, and now we have drywall on the ceiling then plywood. And we have got one that’s in a mobile home roof that has... Wood. Wood to metal. That has fake tongue and groove pine on it. And then above that would be a mobile home roof. And that's going to be a journey in itself. But be careful, back to what I was saying to when you're up there measuring how far where the rafters are after you put that piece up there to measure from, make sure there's no electrical up there so you don't cut it with your sawzall.
Do you recommend a hard hat? No, be careful. Plastic glasses would be good. Glasses might work. Well, in my case, it's so hot they would fog up. They will do that. So now we've got insulation to move back. You feel the heat coming out? Yeah, there'll be heat pouring out of there. It's a 99 or something outside. So, you can well imagine what it is in that closed in area.
It's like 105 up there. 105 on the... The floor. And then... See how close we are there of the wall and there's not. Yeah, I've seen a bit.

I recorded how my babies grow each day. This is my first set of baby chicks. I ordered them from Cackle Hatchery. They are the Crested “Top Hat” Special and the Feather Footed Bantam Assortment Special.
I ordered 10 of each mix. If I had it to do again, I would not have ordered the mixes because I'm using these to start a breeding program. I love my babies, but business wise ordering specific chicks would have been a much better plan.
We also have 1 guinea and three silkie babies that survived a freak storm in this group. Enjoy watching them grow. I will have them all linked into a playlist so you can watch them. Chick flicks to enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLn3fko4h1DljAYO9YWVOCErGTrn3v11Yk

Okay, I'm taping right now because it just started raining and I think this is this guy. These guys is only rain. See what they're going to do. Today, I decided they're feeders. I went ahead and I was almost at the end of that 90 lbs of chick food. So I gave it to them and I went ahead and pulled their feeders up because...
I had a lot, as you can see right there, at a lot of crap in their feeders. So... What are you guys going to do? It’s raining? Well, it's happening. Okay. And you just fell off of her. I think these have been rained on. Certainly. It is nice and cool. It is cooling everything down. So. Well, I guess it ain't no big deal.
Although when I come out, Jenny was alarming. I still can't figure out if Jenny's a Jack. I think powder puff and. I think Powder Puff is a girl. I think Dina Butt and Dropkick are girls which is kind of cool because I have every intention... Here, baby are you trying to get into that? I the every intention of if I'm right and those three or girls they're going to probably go in with Cosmo and Dizzy.
It's raining guys. Can you see that on Dropkick? I don't know what that is. What is that color? If you look at her, she's got this brown weird color. I like it, but it just came in. What's everybody doing? I just want to see what they're doing in the rain. What they think about it. Doesn’t seem like they think anything other than they're chasing bugs.
I think they think I brought food. They're wrong. All right. Well, evidently doesn't bother the babies at all, because I don't think these have ever been in rain. Well, Dropkick Dyna and Powder and Jenny have been in rain, but it was a bad, bad thing. They were in a freak rainstorm where we lost a bunch of babies. It was not me taking care of them, but we lost a bunch of babies. All right. Well, I'm going to go back in the house because I am totally obsessed. I have my first ever babies hatching and I got to see it. Jenny! What the hell are you doing?

That is where we put piers underneath the water heater, and then we put piers on the floor joists that are in sad shape. And now we're getting ready to put floor joist beside the ones that are actually here.
And we're going to screw everything to the 4k4s and to the existing floor joists. And this is going to be one solid house room in this house anyway. So here we go with screws.
So if you watch some of our other videos, the point of us putting that make everything stitch together real good, we put 2bys in between on the edges and right here where they, where the seams go together.
That way it doesn't move when you step on them and then bust whatever material you use, particularly if things like ceramic tile, so on, so. We also put screws in everything so it doesn't back out, like nails would. And we've done all the floor joists, that needed to get fixed. So everything's done with screws and everything's screwed off and we're getting too close to the final couple of pieces and we're feeling pretty good.
So we'll show you the completed job here in a little bit. As a matter of fact, now they want me to do the flooring. Which they were going to do before, but it's all good. We're going to get it done, take you through it. See you.

That sounds pretty girly. Yeah. Okay. I fell in the water.
It's cold shrinkage. Yeah. Oh, not really that small it’s shrinkage, tell him Jay. Shrinkage. Kind of like the new guy, women get the stiff end of the deal. I don't get to see much of anything. Yeah, well, at least you're not in the water like you thought you were. We got, like, a balancing act going on. Close it up some. But we're.
We've done a support that water heater, it’s what she requested. It’s definitely supported now. But the reality of it is that beam off to the side there is all broken. It's setting up more because we raised it up. What we're going to have to rebuild that. If you look underneath and you see how the bottom of the floor joist is broken and it's broken right there.
And it's been tried like somebody else, a little feebly tried to fix it by putting a little short, couple of short, 2bys across there. And that didn't do much. What we'll have to do at some point is put another floor joist in there and support it shorter although anyway. This house is going to need more of our attention. But I think you did the job, Tim.
That beam's going to have to be fixed.

A deck that somebody else started this time. Always fun, that was probably the most irritating thing when I was first starting out is I spent a lot of time fixing what other people did. This is something that somebody else started on, which again, when I was young. Can I just get something that someone else didn't screw up? But this is a daunting little task if you haven’t got any experience.
But anyway, the floor was caving in and ultimately the reason is the water coming from the back side of the house going underneath the house. And even though it has blocks, it finds a way to get to the lower point and they're going to do some things to support stop that from happening. Both the floor joists right there broke. We're going to fix that. Probably put another board beside it. The supports here are not doing any good. The floor joists over there is rotted, if you can see that, Drew. You can probably grab it with your hand and break it up. So we're going to replace that. And on the other side of the wall, there's the hallway where you get in and out in the house and it's bounces. So we're going to try to fix that.
So we're going to do all that is we're going to put a support right straight to the middle and we’re going to use 4x4s, because that's what they have. I actually have some 2x6s turned on edge, but the 4x4s will work just fine and we'll put in new floor joists where it’s needed and maybe if they have enough, I'll put it on every bit of the room.
But we're going to make this place better. We're going to put supports under the water heater first because water heaters trying to cave through. So we're going to put blocks and if you pan underneath there, this quite a lot of water and mud to deal with, which Tim’s already under there. Oh, it’s a swimming pool. Yeah. That makes it better. Doesn't having that, so anyway.
Oh, yeah. Here we are on this adventure and we're going to pour concrete into that, to try to... Because she bought some the guys told her that that was where the water was coming in. It looks like it some. But we're going to pour concrete there and make it solid. So here we go.
