Unboxing Pendant 54 Mobile Home Bathtubs
Putting a new Pendant 54" Mobile home steel bathtub. This is a right-hand drain. We need to change from a center drain to the right-hand drain.
Walk though unboxing the bathtub, what you need to measure to place your drain. We cut the hole in the floor. Not sure what happened with the rest of the install. I thought the unboxing and measuring could help people out.

If You Need to Keep Your Mobile Home Tub
Hi, I'm Phil bridges, owner of Straight Arrow Repair. Ever want to know how a repairman fixes things? Well come with me, and I'll show you how I solve problems. Let's make things better together.
So when you're coming to a tub like this has these pieces that go over the top of the edge of the tub.
If you're going to keep your tub, you need to keep those sealed on the top, particularly. Bottom, as far as function doesn't mean a whole lot, and you'll see why, because of the lip of the thin plastic tube goes up. But if it's not sealed up here water will run behind the tub down to the floor, cause your tub to have no support on the floor and then a crack to what happened.
So we're going to pull this one out to put in a cast iron tub. And one of the things I'm going to do is take a razor knife and cut it across the top so we don't have to deal with really good caulking.
If it is or is not, and will pull the screws out and I'll show you that lip then. This Phil Bridges, if you like what you saw and think it might be helpful to somebody else, push that like button and let other people know what you and I know now we'll work together toward making a brighter future. By the way, we're not Ameri-Can'ts. We're Americans see you next time.

This is a tool that we use quite often for driving lag bolts, which are a bit like basically big, big screws and use an impact socket. But this is an impact gun and this is a half inch drive electric impact gun that has 2100 R.P.M.. The reverse is up at the top and the forwards on the bottom. So you just have to pull the top of the bottom of the trigger.
And it has replaceable brushes right here. It's a neat little tool, doesn't cost a lot of money and it will do a lot of stuff for you that are way hard to do and long to do with a ratchet. So pretty neat tool.

This is another knife. This will actually came from Lowe's, which you can get in. I used to call this the guys we worked with in drywall call this a banana knife, because you can cut like a bundle of bananas, I don't know, but it's a curved knife that allows you to carve bigger areas and you won't use your razor knife blade up as much and you can sharpen this and it holds it longer blade, sharp time period.
But anyway, we used to use it. I'd cut the drywall, break it, and then clean it up and then raspy get a perfect edge. But that is what you would call a banana knife or a curve blade knife that I also have on my truck for all these different circumstances as a repairman.

Here's another tool that I use. On occasion, they're keeping on the truck and they actually make a lot of different sizes. You can get them real wide. This is called a duckbill and I can grab a piece of metal here and bend it basically where that line is on that tool, right here so I can grab it and then bend.
I use this quite often with duct work, but I've used it for a number of other things to fabricate where flashing into something or on a metal roof or metal skirting or any number of things that are metal if you want to get a good square edge. But that's a duckbill and they make a lot of different sizes.
Not terribly expensive.

Hey, this is another little tool that has been with me for 30 years, not this particular one, but I've had these always. It's a keyhole saw. This one actually has blades on both sides. You can get them straight on one side. I use this for cutting drywall. I've actually used it for a lot with a hardy board, a concrete board, anything to reach in and pull things out.
Not just a saw, but this is really handy. I'm actually got one in my electrical bag so I can cut and cut in boxes. So this is something you would want. It's not very expensive 4 or 5 dollars.

Hey, guys. This is a mechanical jack made by Simplex, I would say at least 50 years ago and think it was used to lift rail road tracks. But I use it for jacking up decks like we just did right here. It's, it’s got a hook here. It goes up and down and it does here. I use both of them quite often for lightweight job.
It says it's good for five ton. I've never put that much on it, but you pull it up and it goes up and then you push it down. and it goes down both the top and the back. Pretty handy. You can carry it around. It has a lighter weight that doesn't lift as much and the heavier weight is there. Pretty cool.

We use occasionally. It's a rolling magnet, and its magnet is right here on the bottom. And to release it, you just pull up and it releases. But as it goes over, like there's some nails right here that's been dropped. You can hear it's picking up all those nails. And then all I got to do is go over here, pull that lever and it drops them out.
So it's pretty neat little tool. I think this one came from Harbor Freight and all these are possible flats, you just roll it along. He goes one, but there.

Another tool. This is used to put in anchors, augur anchors with a screw type that goes into the ground. You slip it in here and put a bolt through if you want. I actually got a video of us doing it for a carport, but it has a reverse switch right here or forward or reverse and then it turns very, very slowly has the ability to have one person here and you put a pipe, another person here, it will literally break the steel on those anchors.
And you had to pay attention to the paint and everything that rust, even on those anchors or else it'll just shatter that thing in two, and it'll throw you if it hits a rock. So all said and done, this is an anchor machine, not something you see every day has gears and repeats itself. It's really, really strong.

Mobile Home Moving Fail
Here's another mobile home moving fail story for everyone. Complete fail, long single-wide stuck in a ravine when Phil gets there.
⏱️⏱️Chapters⏱️⏱️
00:00 Intro
00:12 Got a call that a mobile home mover was hung up
00:40 His rollers are $1500 18 years ago, not something you want to loan out
01:20 Way out past Elkins, AR stuck in a ravine
01:30 70' single wide trailer
01:55 Wheels on the ravine side are hanging off the road
02:25 Under the trailer and mobile home, the mover had 3 guys working
02:40 Trailer was above their head almost 7' high
03:00 Telling the 3 guys to get out of the ravine
03:15 Jacked the house up, had to get more stuff to do it
03:45 Ended up moving it 3' at a time 7 times
04:15 Had to jack it up 2 more times because it kept dropping back into the ravine
04:30 20' after the ravine he couldn't go anywhere
04:50 Murphy's law was in full effect
05:00 Normal routine is the driver drives the route, checks it out before they do the move
05:40 The movers had to pay a guy for the tree they needed to cut
06:00 Back the next day in a snow storm
06:25 Had to go straight up through a ditch to get to the property
07:00 Day 2 and running out of daylight again
07:30 The mover decided Phil was in charge
08:00 Trying to get the mobile home up a steep hill and set in place
08:30 Have another heavy duty truck to pull the mobile home, but have to keep it from flipping over
09:00 Moving the mobile home, moving truck 7-10' at a time up the hill
09:30 Stopping for the night just to dangerous to continue
10:10 Three and half days to move the house and set it up

Transcript:
So with the pioneer inverter ultra high efficiency heat pump. The instructions were a lot left to be desired. It was very difficult to get to where we needed to get, but we did get it, particularly Drew. We've got all the lines up, everything's connected. The drains were a little bit of a challenge also because of the distance we're having to carry.
So we put it in two Pexs. One of the connections out of three or four or five connections is not leaking and we don't want that to happen. That is the drain connection. Everything else is working. Kicking out at 62. So Drew and Clay, particularly Drew did a good job getting everything squared away, the wiring. We had a minor problem.
The new, the different style disconnect kind of threw Clay for a loop, but Drew and Clay did a good job on it. Is it something that somebody can do easily on their own? First of all, you would not have the Freon available to you unless you are an air conditioned person. Then all the other tools that require like a vacuum pump and gauges and all those things would probably not be something that you could get your hands on.
They do have, according to Clay, a quick connect set up where the Freon is included. So that would be something I would look into if you were doing it for yourself. Otherwise, this is kind of for the person who is not going to do it to know what should be done or what it could look like and the person who is doing it.
Some tips on what we had to fight with and what can be done. So I hope that helps guys. We'll see you next time.

I recorded how my babies grow each day. This is my first set of baby chicks. I ordered them from Cackle Hatchery. They are the Crested “Top Hat” Special and the Feather Footed Bantam Assortment Special.
I ordered 10 of each mix. If I had it to do again, I would not have ordered the mixes because I'm using these to start a breeding program. I love my babies, but business wise ordering specific chicks would have been a much better plan.
We also have 1 guinea and three silkie babies that survived a freak storm in this group. Enjoy watching them grow. I will have them all linked into a playlist so you can watch them. Chick flicks to enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLn3fko4h1DljAYO9YWVOCErGTrn3v11Yk

Okay. Today is our second day of sprouts, as you can see. And the second day things are always more entertaining. Again, got like eight cups of food out of a 1/4 cup of seeds. Come on, guys. Come get some. Come get some. Come on, guys. Come on, babies. Come on, babies. Hey, Jenny. Come on. Come on, babies. Come get them. Come on, guys. Come get. Come on. I really don't want to set my butt on a ground because it was raining yesterday. Come on. Come get some.
There you go. You're walking on in. Come get along. Dina and Powder and all, then seem to be just fine. Even though they got soaked yesterday. Hmm. Come on, guys. Come get some. Come on, baby. I still only have two hatchlings, but I'm hoping, hoping, hoping. I'll have more. Had three eggs that are responding, Powder. Well, that was a sunb. Come on, guys. Come on, babies.
I’m trying to get everybody out here to eat them. But no, rather, I leave it in their feed barn. In their barn. But I don't. I'm trying to get them to stop doing that. I have their food in there, but I want their treats out here. And part of the reason we're doing this is to decrease my feed costs, because we know... What was that about?
Hey, Cosmo. Cosmo. Stop it. That's what's going on. He's chasing the girls, and I don't know why.
Dude, you will end up in a stew pot. Come on, guys. Come on. Dyna Butt, Rock Star. I guess I’ll have to take some of these in here because of these crazy ones, and that there is your chick flick of the day. Sorry about the yelling. Cosmo just decided to go nuts and kick everybody's ass. So. All right.
Hey guys, this is Chris with Chickens For Chicks. If you like what you saw: subscribe, come back, like the video. There will be more. Lots of education. Lots of babies.

Once you’ve got your five pin and I think it’s a 12 pin, you have to put your cover back on. But you can't because the wires obstruct. We’ve got the fan on going right now. Everything is working. If everything works correctly this black connector does nothing for you. So what you have got to do is you got to remove this little hook here goes into a screw. The screws have a tendency to want to stick but they’ll fall out eventually, just take them out.
It's a little bit hard to do by yourself. Trust me. I know. Especially put it back up, getting it down is pretty easy. That one was sticky. All right. Let’s move this out of the way.
Now we got to put our metal cover back on. The thing with the metal cover. Firstly, you don't want to shock yourself, but we got to make sure these wire this whole is right. What I do is put it like that. Put a screw on it with a screw gun. And you put all your screws back in. Remember this one over here. There’s one right here. Get the other screw.
Now, the hard part of the easy part, believe it or not. It’s really hard to get this. You got to use both your hands. You got to use a screw gun. It might be easier for a screwdriver. Hold it up there, find your hole. By yourself it’d be really hard. There you go, now just hook it up like we showed you. Don't worry about this wire.
There you go.

Transcript:
All right. So one of the things that you don’t have to do, but it's recommended you do actually, I don't think a lot of AC guys actually do this, but it helps a lot. So there are I think this is a half inch connector that we'll put in this hole, like that. We’ll run this wire, this other wire through it. And I’ll show you guys, how we do that.
And the whole idea is keep wasps out. Right? So any time anyone has come out here and service it they don't have to... And weather. Deal with wasps getting on them, stinging them. So what we'll do is we'll take one of the wires at a time fish it through. Hold it upside down like that so that the gate doesn't keep falling on you. And you’ll fish them through one at a time, which it’s a little bit difficult.
Can be a little hard sometimes, and keep doing it. This will be the last one we’ve got to get through here. Just like that. We’ll slide it down to the black. Oh, there we go. And we're going to slide this in there and then you'll fit your little wing nut that comes with it. Going to put that on. You'll go down to it and you’ll tighten it on. I think I have mine on upside down. There we go. We're done.
That's how you do it. Keep bugs out. Look right here. No wasps can get up in that hole with that wire.

Transcript:
All right, guys, we're out here. We already got the inside hooked up like we were talking about. So look here. There's these three right here. L1, L2 and ground. That will be your power that comes in from outside. Into the unit. 1A, 2A, 3A is what's going out to your first head. What should be the highest capacity you have? All these heads here are all the same capacity, so we don't have to worry about that.
So if you have one that’s say 12,000 BTU and these are all 9000, you're 12,000 would be your first head on your unit, which would be here and then your lessers would be there. So your max-, your highest capacity of your first one, the one B to be three B will be your second one, 1C, 2C, 3C will be a third one.
So in our case, 1B, 2B and 3B will be our kitchen. 1C, 2C and 3C will be the living room for us. And we're not using all three of these. Well, one of the how the L1, L2 and the ground are the power coming in. So and then your ground, it has a connector around cracker here you'll have to one of these grounds here and square and there and that's how you do it.
But before we go, this is our old vacuum pump from Harbor Freight, still kicking. up here. When we vacuum down, we vacuum on the 500 microns is what you want to do, which is 29, 30 to 30 negative inches of mercury, which is an AC into the mercury. This one tells us a percentage. It’s a digital manifold gauge. So we're only 22% for this and we need to be at 100, which will be 30 inches a mercury, -30 inches of mercury.
And then what you'll do is you let it sit for like 15 minutes after you do that and you'll see where it is drop, how much is drop? And if you have a big drop, you have a leak. The issue is you can't use the analog gages, you have to have a micron gauge or a digital gauge.
Otherwise you have to vacuum for a really long time and just hope you're getting it right. Because the analog gauges will not tell you what your micron is accurately so you can get a pretty well priced manifold gauge set, on Amazon or something like this one for 100 bucks and get it now. But we got to do that on all three of them one at a time.
So right now we're doing A. You don't open any of this all of this stays closed. While you vacuum. You don’t touch any of that. So, while we vacuum this down to 30 and 40 Mercury will move to the next one, but we'll come back to you guys to do that.
All right, guys, when you come in here, you set up your powder blast. Coming up, your L1, L2 and grounds, then you go to your ground. That should be it.

Transcript:
So remember, I showed you guys to take off the batten strips and then hammer down the nails and staples that are standing up around your hammer down. Then you take your drywall mud and you put it on. You can do it that way, or you can do it this way.
You want to make sure you get enough mud to cover. And then that if you down, the tape will blister up when you put mud on top of it later. Which you'll do a second coat. Lay it right on top of where that crack is.
I know I'm making it look easy, but I've done it for a long time and I just can't help it. Perhaps we'll show you guys how to do the drywall finishing it. It's not something you can learn overnight if it is. Then I've been pretty stupid because it took me a long time to get any kind of good. So anyway, you pull that down. Tight as you can. There's your first coat and then we'll finish it out, which I'll do is I'll put mud on like so if you just have a six-inch knife, you can do it with a six-inch. But I prefer to burst out with a ten and then a twelve. Then you spread it out.
But. Got to do one side. So that the knife will be able to cover when you go over it, like so. Do the other side know a lot of guys won't do but one side at a time? I understand.
But I can do both sides so and I don't I'm very much sanding. I don't do any sand as a rule. And normally, I put it on with a one size knife, and then I use a bigger knife, like if I put on with the six, I would pull it off with an eight-inch knife.
But you don't have to do both sides, you can do one side of everything, come back a bit after drys and do the other side, but there they'll be pretty flat. And then you just do that everywhere. Now I imagine that other people will have to work at it longer and don't feel bad.
That's part of it. But we'll get it. We're getting away with that great big hump. We're making it look more like a house. So we'll finish it and then we'll texture it, and I'll show you when I texture.

This is a common way to cover the strips. I mean, the cracks in the drywall, so, they put. This is called a batten strip, and they staple it on. Now if you want to get rid of that funny look that makes it look less like a house is you would you would.
If you have it painted a bunch, you're going to want to take a razor and cut on both sides. Otherwise it'll peel back the paint quite a ways. But you take a pry bar. Pull it off. And then just run your hammer.
And when you feel that bump, hammer it down. Then you'll dry, drywall finish it, and I'll show you that here in just a second. But that's what you do.

We're back. Caught me when I'm sweaty. Which is not ever, ever, I should be a supervisor by now, but I'm not. Anyway, we're doing a corner bead, want to show you how, things that I know about corner bead, some of the things I know. First of all your want to cut your corner bead, so you know it has a profile, if you notice it's built up off of each side so you can slide mud over the top of that. It's particularly, I want to show you. I want to sure you don't have anything that's going to keep you bulged out and make an issue.
And then you put it up here with this case for you to screw a one of the videos I showed you a corner bead clincher. You can do that. And you can also use nails, a lot of guys like nails. The thing about screws is that you want to make sure you don't pull so far down, that it will twist the metal you want to try to keep it straight.
So, try to eyeball it straight. And one of the ways you can kind of avoid doing that is put where you put one screw, put another screw over here, close. Now, you can use these holes or you can use the smaller holes, either way you want. The idea is to get it where it's tight and where it stands up. Now, you can twist it around and then this will be hidden When you go across instead of this, what you want is that corner to be the high on both sides All right.
So we're going to keep on going. Now, the reason I use screws as opposed to nails. It's a lot harder to knock that off, with a piece of furniture or something else.
And, you can always change something I was checking something, you can always pull screw out. It's harder to pull a nail out. And it's easier to knock a nail off, or for a nail to have vibration and pull out. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it with nails, I'm saying that's the reason I'm doing it with screws. You can also do it with the corner bead clincher, but that clencher, it relies on the little bitty holes you pinches on the side to hold it on that metal on. It doesn't take very much to knock it off. So, I live with me, the customer might not know how good of a job I'm doing, but I do. And I have to live with me, I have to sleep with me. And if it gets a little bit better.
Takes a little more time, a little more money. That's what I want to do, and that's what you should do. Because you might not want to do it later on over and over. Fixing it. But, everybody has to make their decision. There you go, just try to keep it straight.

#AirConditioner #CopperLines #InstallingAirConditioner
Transcript:
So what we've done is run this line that's already got its insulation. And both this little area right here is where we tore the two apart to have a way to hold them together. Obviously, they can't be the same together because they have one set back from the other.
We went through the first 25 footer on the a and you start these you adjust them very slowly. Don’t kink them. That's a bad thing to kink copper and then you start over hand until they're on their good Do not try to start them with a pair of wrenches or something because you can end up stripping it. That's bad too.
Really bad. So take the time to shape the pipe so that you can put that on my hand almost all the way. You can usually do it. Then you can tighten it up with a crescent wrench or it's a three quarter size and this is three quarter. And I think this one's going to be like inch and a quarter.
I haven't tried it. So we used crescent wrench to set this on. Then I shaped in so that it would be up against the wall, will end up building up a wall to hide it wrap it up in, so bugs won't land on it and make nests on it, all that kind of stuff. And it will tend to blend in, but we still have two more runs.
Both of those are 50 foot and then we'll I'm not showing you up there because I'm letting Drew do it, tightening it up. But it's not something that's impossible to do for somebody who doesn't have the experience. So that's why I'm telling you with quiet comfort that you can do this yourself. Now, you can't get the freedom, you don't have the gauges.
So when you go to 50 foot or anything beyond 25 foot per run, you will have to have somebody add freon to it .16 ounces per one foot past 25. Ok, It has it in it the ability to deal with 25 feet per run. After that, you have to add freon and we'll have to see how that all goes.
I'll let you know as we go along. Right now, he's up in the attic getting sweaty just like me. See you in a bit.
