Block 3 Week 4: Paused Squats.
Squats are continuing to feel on FIRE. Top set felt easy and smooth; and lower than the prescribed RPE of 8. However, by the time I got to my benching, it had been a long time since I had last eaten, so my strength and energy plummeted. So I took it a bit easier with those.

SMOOTH 210 KGS DEADLIFT. FASTEST IT'S MOVED YET!
After having a terrible week previously with my deadlifts, where my energy and strength for the lift totally crashed; I was fully prepared to have this day not be one of PRs, and just working on at least getting back in a positive direction, with the movement. But whaddya know! I ended up feeling fairly good, and made a hell of a comeback; with this being the fastest I have pulled 210 Kgs to date. And this is just coming off of that errible week prior, where I didn't do anything near this; and I don't think I was even feeling quite on my A game here as well, so hopefully this is a good sign of things to come! Now I just need to get more weight (and thinner plates) for the deadlift, hahaha. Might be needing 'em soon 🤘🏻

Block 3 Week 3: High Bar Squats, and stuff
Last day of the training week, here. I normally do these days right after my shift, at the local public gym I work at; as it is an overall lighter day, and I have access to more equipment/options for my accessories. I forgot to bring my knee sleeves, but it turns out I didn't even need them! Smoking an easy little High-Bar Squat PR. It is nothing crazy or impressive, but I have been trying to move the needle with High-Bar very conservatively, to manage fatigue, as well as high bar being more awkward for me. Plus, I am usually pretty tired at the end of the week, and I also work up until late in the night at the gym the previous night, and then have to come straight back in the following morning, so energy is not aways super high, haha. Regardless, I'm really stoked about how well squats have been going, lately. I'm hoping to keep the momentum going, as long as my energy levels can hold, and hopefully I can start to bring the deadlift back up again, as well. Some big things in the near future, hopefully! 🤘🏻

Super easy 165 Kg Paused Squat! New PR!
My energy levels have fallen off a cliff, and my deadlifts in particular have been taking a huge hit. I had really low expectations going in to this session, but surprisingly my paused squats felt effortless. This top set was supposed to be RPE 7.5, but felt much lower. The technique tweaks seem to be paying dividends. New PRs on the horizon? I'll have to see if I can overcome this huge dip.

Block 3 Week 2: Paused Squats. A surprising day!
My deadlift session this week, before this one was absolutely terrible. I went in feeling good, but as soon as I starting warming up, and ramping up the weights, my energy and strength was completely shot; probably just due to fatigue mounting up. So I played it safe, did 182.5 Kgs for a single, (was supposed to go for 202.5 Kgs) which even that felt grueling, and then did my back-offs with far less weight than intended, and finished the rest of the workout, to try and focus on active recovery, and digging myself out of this tired and weakened state. After a day of rest, and getting some good sleep in, I felt a tad better, but still low energy and had no desire to train. I thought it would be an absolute bust, and was not even planning to film anything, and take it easier. However, as I ramped up the weights, I could not believe how smooth and effortless it was feeling, so I figured what the hell, let's shoot for a little PR. I was originally going to do 162.5 Kgs as my Top Set, but I figured that would actually be too easy, so I made the decision to do 165. It was supposed to be RPE 7.5, but I think it ended up being a fair bit lower than that. Super easy! I was still feeling pretty tired and not on my A game with my benching right afterwards however, so I decided not to film, and to cut the volume and intensity a little bit, to play it a little safely, and help with recovery. Hopefully I'll be back on decent shape for next week, the final scheduled week of this Training Cycle.

Easy 115 Kg Paused Bench Press. Felt like a warm-up!
I was feeling pretty low energy, and was really relying on the music to push me on. However, this top set went way better than expected, and felt super smooth. I'm not quite sure if it is technically the fastest it's ever moved. If not, it was pretty close; and it felt damned good 🤘🏻

Block 3 Week 3: Comp Squat and Comp Bench Press
I was feeling a bit tired and low energy, but this ended up being a pretty good session, overall. Music definitely helps, haha. The new squatting technique seems to be faring well. The Top Set did not quite move the fastest it ever has, but still felt fairly easy, and I think a bit lower than the prescribed RPE of 8. Still, I was feeling pretty tired by the Bench Press, and was really relying on the music to get me through, lol. However, the Top Set went incredibly well, and felt like a damn warm up, which is very encouraging.

These were feelin' tough! However this final set went quite well. I remember about over a year or so ago I couldn't even do this for 3 reps with Touch N' Go. Now I am doing it for paused reps, for six sets of three, and with reps left in the tank. Progress! 🤘🏻

Block 3 Week 2: Paused Squats and Comp Bench Press
I'm tweaking my squat technique, a bit. I'm now going back to a more upright torso position than previously, as I think it was causing the bar move more forward on my back, as the weight got heavier. I am also trying to keep my head and line of sight more upright, to focus on driving upward (gonna do this with deadlift, too), and focusing hard on driving my upper back upwards, as I squat. 160 Kgs felt pretty easy. Definitely much better than when I did it for 2 reps, at the public gym, on my previous block. I'll push for 162.5-165 next week. The volume say for Comp Bench is getting tough! Hopefully I have enough cahones to do 6x3 with 110 Kgs next week. If I can do that, I should be in a pretty good spot to shoot for a 1RM PR, soon.

Speed and explosiveness seems to be there. I just have to work on my lockout kinks. I'm thinking it might be a positioning issue, coupled with locking my knees a bit too early, so I am going to work on tweaking those factors, and see if that solves it. If I can get the lock out issue solved/improved, I think I'll be in for some big gains in the future 🤘🏻

BENCH PRESS FAILED SUCCESSFULLY 😳
This is a clip taken from my recent Comp Bench Press session (Block 3: Week 2) Full video is on my channel!
My warm ups were feeling super good leading up to this. 90 Kgs and 100 kgs felt like the empty bar, so I was all ready and excited to absolutely demolish 110 Kgs, as my top set. However, I was too in to the music, and getting amped up, and my mind was just totally somewhere else while loading the weight, and I ended up unknowingly putting on 120 Kgs; which is technically my current tentative max, and a weight I have only done once before, with my previous 1RM test. So this became a massive 20 KG JUMP, which is a shit ton, when benching heavy, and thus I was not prepared for this, lol. So it definitely did not move quite as smooth as when I last did it, but I am sure that just comes down to the massive jump/not being properly prepped for it. So what was supposed to be an RPE 7.5 set became more like an RPE 9.5, hahaha. Still, at least this is kind of confirmation for myself that I can essentially hit 120 Kgs on any given day. I halved the volume of my back-off work for this session, to help save on fatigue, because I was definitely feeling it, after this one, lol. Hopefully this mishap won't impact my training too much going forward, and I can shoot for a new 1RM, in the new future 🤘🏻

Block 3 Week 2: Comp Bench. An odd kind of day...
My comp squat right before this was a bit underwhelming. Warm ups felt great and super speedy, but the Top Set didn't quite move as fast as I had hoped for. Bench was also feeling really great, and my preceding singles were flying, and feeling like the empty bar; so I thought I would absolutely demolish my top set. Buuuuuut, I had a mishap, which ended up making the jump between the top set a lot larger, thus harder, and more fatigueing than it was supposed to be, lol. That's what you get for rushing, and not being 110 percent focused, lol. Hopefully it won't impact the rest of my training this week, too much.

The EASIEST Hack for Seal Rows!
I love Seal Rows, but man, are they a pain to set up, if you don't have a Seal Row bench, and/or the proper equipment/space to set it up. I've seen and heard of various methods to set up this movement without a Seal Row bench, but I just recently had my own idea/revelation that popped in to my head, that in my opinion/experience, is easier, and works and feels nicer than the others. This may seem obvious to some, but I literally did not think of this until just now, and I work at a gym, lol. So I thought I would pass this along to you all 🤘🏻
