In this video, I'm going to be talking about the flow state and how I work to achieve it in my daily life. For those of you who don't know, the flow state is that feeling when you're completely focused and engaged in the task at hand, and time seems to fly by. It's a great feeling, and one that I strive for every day.
To get into the flow state, I optimize my environment to eliminate any distractions. This means turning off notifications on my computer and phone, and making sure my desk and room are clear and organized. I also try to avoid switching between tasks, as this can break my concentration and make it hard to get back into the flow. Instead, I try to "chunk" my tasks together and work on them in blocks of time.
One of the biggest obstacles to achieving the flow state is what I call "death by a thousand cuts" - the constant stream of little distractions that can pull me out of focus. To combat this, I try to avoid multitasking, as it takes me up to 15 min to re-familiarize myself with a task and get into the same flow and focus state.
Another obstacle I've faced is what I call "entrepreneur ADHD" - the constant stream of new thoughts and ideas that can jump into my head and pull me in different directions. To combat this, I've found it helpful to journal my thoughts, keep my phone out of sight, eat at regular times, and let people know when I'm not available for distractions.
Overall, I believe that the flow state is something we can all achieve, and that our brains are like muscles that we can exercise to improve our focus and concentration

A lot of the time people are wondering 'why aren't my results changing?', and it's not because they have a bad attitude, or that they haven't tried hard enough. There is nothing wrong with them as a human being. They're just not taking on the right inputs and because their inputs are so weak (negative), their results remain unchanged.
Sometimes as entrepreneurs we spend our time figuring out what 'happened', when actually we don’t need to know 'what happened' because it's not going to change our results. We just need to understand the inputs, so that we can change our input stream and make sure that we stay on the right path.
Your results [outputs] and where you are right now are created by the quality of your [inputs].
What are inputs: environment, job, books, social media, newspapers, groups, people, videos, etc. Basically everything you take in (consciously or unconsciously) every day.
Ask yourself: “Are my inputs positive and serving me in order to achieve for my goals?"
Typically, the more successful a person is, the better inputs he or she had. Thus, a rule of thumb is: “If I want to achieve better results → I have to focus on my inputs”
Identify your inputs and replace them with more profitable ones. Then implement them until they become normal.

If you are an entrepreneur and feel that every time you want to start something new, set a new goal or give up a destructive habit, you fail at it, then there is a good chance that you punish yourself for it with negative self-talk.
You probably think that you are just not good enough, not disciplined enough, or even not built for certain things. This couldn't be further from the truth. In reality, most of what looks like another failed attempt is simply due to an identity crisis.
If you're having trouble moving forward, it's often because your current (old) self is fighting against your ideal (new) self. And because you still identify with your old self, or your old character that you have built up over time, it is difficult to take the necessary action because the old character is still controlling what you do.
You identify with your old character and that is why you are trapped – as if you are the character in a game "who may think" that it has no freedom of choice and no control over its life because someone else is operating the steering wheel.
This is where you can reclaim the power and take back control. Just become aware of this and start to have a bird's eye view of yourself. Be the master of your self with your conscious mind and tell your self (your character) what to do next. In this way YOU are in control and YOU dictate and create the new character with the qualities you want.

In this video, I'm showing you how to stay focused with The FOCUS FORMULA. This formula is designed to help you understand the effectiveness of being focused and how to identify and prioritize the most important areas to focus on.
Why is a strong focus so important?
Because the real leverage effect when working on something in your business comes from focus(ing on the right areas, projects, tasks)
Implement step by step:
→Do not work on tasks that will only be relevant in a few months!
Ask yourself: What is the next skill that will get me the most now, that will get me further ahead in the current situation?
→ I cannot skip stages of evolution
Ask yourself: What are max. 3-4 most important core areas in my company that are responsible for long-term growth!
Always identify the most important areas first, because only when I have these can I find out what the important tasks are. Then identify which ones I should work on first!
Pareto's principle: 20% of the tasks are responsible for 80% of the result! (80/20 principle)
Max. return in relation to time: With which task do I get the highest "return" for my company, if I include my invested time and money? (Resources)
If I have a task that takes little time and has a high return:
→ I tackle it first
→ then with momentum I take other tasks that take longer or have more capital costs
Most importantly and the most powerful question to ask is: If I could only do one of all the tasks, which one would have the biggest impact on the growth of my business? → max. progress towards my goals?

Most of us have gone through periods of time where the mental battle to stay productive seems more difficult than the actual work you need to get done.
Staying focused is one of the main challenges of this century. Especially, the younger generation is used to quick rewards (instant gratification) and infinite content. It takes a lot of effort to stay focused these days, that's why at least once a day you're distracted by an app notification or some other short attention span entertainment.
Distraction and instant gratification are just a few reasons for a lack of focus. There is much more to this topic. However, I'm here to tell you that it's possible to stay focused for a prolonged period of time. If you have trouble to stay focused, the best way I have found is to do what successful people do.
Focus is an extremely important component for your success. By implementing the methods I show in this video, you will be able to defeat procrastination and stay concentrated on the task at hand if you are willing.

When it comes to making a decision, whose opinion do you think is more valuable? The person who has the most practical experience in the field, or the most trusted person that you love more and are closer to, such as a family member, friend, or neighbor– that has no experience with what you're trying to decide?
When it comes to making any decision, the opinion and information of someone who has more practical experience carries more weight than those of your beloved or respected people who may haven't gotten that practical experience.
Even though you might trust and respect them, their opinions should have less value; whereas the opinions of someone with more practical experience should carry more weight.
Ray Dalio sums it up just perfectly:
"Believable people are those who have repeatedly and successfully accomplished the thing in question - who have a strong track record with at least three successes - and have great explanations of their approach when probed"
It is wise to keep that in mind for future decision-makings. Moreover, it is helpful to identify the advice you still believe to this day. Try to go back in time and recall what advice you received from whom. And if you do remember, then the next step is to validate their credibility.
Ask yourself these four questions to determine those past individual's credibility and also those of future individuals that are trying to give you their advice:
1. What kind of credibility does the person have?
2. How much practical experience does s/he already have?
3. How does s/he come to his/her opinion?
4. What is their track record?
Answering these questions will help you to validate the person's advice. Once understanding that a person's advice from the past came from someone who wasn't super knowledgeable in that specific field or, even more, had no practical experience in it whatsoever, then it is wise to drop their advice and discontinue holding that belief.
Because that belief might be your truth till today, which shapes your reality and thus your behavior and results.
