📍 Kraków, Poland | I heard the sound of a trumpet coming from this tall building at night and again in the morning during our last day in Krakow while people clapped and waived, so I had to check what it was so I asked a Polish lady... and she told me it is a Polish Famous Tradition which is called the hejnał mariacki, and is one of Kraków's most famous traditions. We check out Krakow Bazaar (which is small market inside), the Krakow Christmas Market (which we did also in the evening the other day), got a nice hot chocolate, got around the area surrounding the old town and finally continued our way to head to the Main station to go to the airport back home. 📍 Wieliczka Salt Mine, Poland | I went inside this salt mine in the town of Wieliczka, near Kraków in southern Poland. The Wieliczka Salt Mine reaches a depth of 327 metres (1,073 ft), and extends via horizontal passages and chambers for over 287 kilometres (178 miles). It is now an official Polish Historic Monument (Pomnik Historii) and a UNESCO World Heritage Site We were able to go down to 135 metres by stairs and then go up with the most interesting lift ever! 📍 Auschwitz, Poland | I went inside Auschwitz Concentration Camps ( Auschwitz Camp 1 & Auschwitz-Birkenau) that were opened in 1940-41. The Auschwitz-Birkenau (the 2nd camp visited) is the largest of the Nazi concentration and death camps. An estimation of 1.1 Million Jews were killed in these camps during WW2. This is unlike many of my vlogs since it was a toured visit and the footage gives you a glimpse of what the atrocious living conditions were like 75 years ago in these camps and there is this aura aspect which I mention many times in the video that captivates you and it captivates everyone that visits this place. 📍 Zakopane, Poland | Down in the South of Poland you'll find this picturesque resort town of Zakopane. With stunning views, winter sports activities and mountains this makes it as the perfect setting for a winter destination. We woke up very early at 5.30am to prepare for this day trip from Krakow and it was well worth to visiting. The Zakopane Wooden houses & cabins are amazing to see in the winter covered with snow. We randomly met a Maltese guy that heard us talking and we both agreed that many Maltese are flocking to Poland recently and vice-versa. Enjoy the Vlog! We stopped at Zicherka Cafe on our way for something warm to drink and a piece of cake and then we headed to the Katowice Christmas Market to look around and to get some mulled wine and to taste the typical Polish dish Oscypek which is Grilled Smoked Sheep Cheese with Cranberry Sauce. 📍 Krakow, Poland | I've been to snow and cold temperatures before when I lived in Scotland but never like what I've experienced in the first day at our arrival in Krakow (-19°C) while vlogging. These Siberian like temperatures where everything freezes are no joke and you've got to be careful of the transparent ice on pavements and steps. Walking in those temperatures in the evening trying to get a table in a restaurant here in Krakow was a bit of a challenge too as everywhere was fully booked ....but we finally made it.
