This giant maple was always the last in the neighborhood to turn a beautiful golden yellow before dumping it's leaves in 3 or 4 windy afternoons. Over 40 "tight" bags of leaves one year!

A "slough" close by with a local Egret. I called it "My Slough" Usually a Great Blue Heron and some Night Herons as well. Amazing to me with the Burlington Northern tracks rolling by. I always meant to test the water but was afraid too. DuPage County, Illinois.

My Dad was a GREAT dad and I LOVE having his US Navy hammock. I don't recommend watching the whole video. You'll get seasick!

My Step 2 pool found by the side of the road :) My Grandma Mayberry's Depression Glass bowls make a nice faint clinking sound with the water movement. An artificial water lily, cherub statue from Goodwill and a handful of "feeder" goldfish from pet shop :)

In my suburban garden a large bumble bee in Pink Weigelia with the commuter train in the background. And Sunshine :)

Monarchs chrysalis and adult butterflies newly emerged and in the background the male Cardinal call. I think you can hear an airplane and also a passing commuter train. Suburban summertime :)

Simmered not stirred! Best breakfast in the world. With a little milk or best of all . . . butter and brown sugar :)

I remember this night sitting in lawn chairs at the end of our driveway and seeing the fireworks through the trees. We had beers and a couple of neighbors joined me and brought doughnuts.

What could they possibly have to say everyday?

Zinnias bring so much long lasting color to the garden. And a wide variety of pollinators . . . birds and bees and these lovely Hummingbird Moths. I plant my Zinnias from seed and am amazed every year at their resilience. They can withstand the very hot days and the torrential rains of summer and fall.
