On the 24th of May 2012, Jun Lin , a university student, was fatally stabbed and dismembered in Montreal, Canada, by Luka Rocco Magnotta, who then mailed Lin's hands and feet to elementary schools and federal political party offices. After a video depicting the murder was posted online, Magnotta fled Canada, becoming the subject of an Interpol Red Notice and prompting an international manhunt. In June 2012, he was arrested in an internet café in Berlin. In December 2014, after eight days of deliberations, a jury convicted him of first-degree murder. The La Familia Michoacana Cartel (LFM) released a video of the execution of two young people whom it accused of being narcos and belonging to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), in the municipality of Zirándaro in the state of Guerrero in Mexico. Kenneth John Bigley (22 April 1942 – 7 October 2004) was a British civil engineer who was kidnapped in the al-Mansour district of Baghdad, Iraq, on 16 September 2004, along with his colleagues Jack Hensley and Eugene Armstrong, both United States citizens. The three men were working for Gulf Supplies and Commercial Services, a Kuwaiti company working on reconstruction projects in Iraq. The men knew their home was being watched and realised they were in great danger when their Iraqi house guard informed them he was leaving due to threats by militias for protecting American and British workers. Bigley and the two Americans decided it was worth the risk and continued to live in the house. In March Of 2018, rescue crews located the bodies of three women who were tortured, killed and beheaded in Brazil, Fortaleza, Ceará. One of the women allegedly belonged to the street gang, Comando Vermelho & were executed by a rival group, by the name of Guardiões do Estado (GDE). In early May of 2022, a brutal video made the rounds on social media depicting the murder of a female soldier in Nigeria. The victim in the extremely graphic video is Gloria Matthew, her fiance Linus Musa Audu was also murdered. On the 27th May 2022 three videos which depict captive Pájaros Sierra members that were filmed by presumed CJNG members were released. One video is an interrogation, two videos are executions. A grisly video appeared on the Mundo Narco website, of a savage Los Zetas execution of four people. As typical with execution videos, each captive is interviewed individually. The doomed group consisted of 3 women and 1 man. As they kneel with their hands bound behind their back, several sicarios are standing in the rear, and one who appears to be in charge is in front to the right. The sicarios are uniformed which bear a "ZETAZ" emblem. What is far from typical in the video is the captives declare they are relatives of “El Comandante del Diablo ,” his mother, sister in law, sister, and brother. They state their name, "Banderas Padilla", Diablo's full name is said to be Hugo Alberto Banderas Padilla. After the brief period of interviewing, the heads of each, in turn, are sealed with duct tape. The violence then ensues. Artyom Anoufriev and Nikita Lytkin are two serial killers from Irkutsk, Russia, known as the "Academy maniacs. The pair collectively committed six murders and injured nine others in a series of attacks that took place in Irkutsk Academgorodok between December 2010 and April 2011, while still teenagers. Both perpetrators were detained in April 2011, and were collectively charged with murder, robbery, abuse of victims' bodies and organizing extremist activities. The judicial investigation of the case lasted from August 2012 to February 2013. On 2 April 2013, the Irkutsk Regional Court sentenced Anoufriev to life imprisonment, and Lytkin to 24 years imprisonment. On 3 October 2013, the Supreme Court of Russia finalized the verdict of Anoufriev's life sentence, while Lytkin's sentence was reduced to 20 years' imprisonment.
