They actually Strip the individual of all independence and authentic voice, arrogantly dehumanizing and stealing another person’s voice without consent. That's no different to #ABAisAbuse, maybe worse because now children with special needs will be “speaking” the words of someone else. Strangers can take over, you will have no control as protective parents. Look at all of the court cases where facilitators alleged abuse against parents who had no idea what they were getting into. The facilitator can get the child to “type” any lie the facilitator wishes them to – If there was a facilitator who was of bad intent running that, they can make the child "Say" anything they wished, these are examples of what they can “say”: I want to vote for ____ I want to donate my organs, I want to give my money to ____ I want to die I want to live in a group home My ___ abused me I want to have sex with My ___ sexually abused me My brother, sister, mom, dad, parents, uncle aunt, etc. did something bad… For many years, I bit my tongue not to speak harshly about FC, RPM, S2C that is being used on our #autistic children/adult and others with special needs but now it’s out of control. Since Ethan’s dad and my husband’s passing I decided that time on Earth is limited and I will not stay quiet about FC, RPM, S2C any longer. I’ve been talking about it for a while behind closed doors and with friends but I was busy fighting people who worked as ABA “therapists.” That said, there is not much difference between these methods to ‘treat’ our children with special needs, mainly autism. I met many special needs children including autism and their parents. I was surprised to meet “educated” people with certificates such as attorneys, Drs, MDs, PhDs, engineers, etc., they all fell for this “Magic Pill”. Maybe because their ego overrode their logic and they needed to prove to their families and colleagues that their children are smart and capable. The more simple parents who are using FC, RPM, S2C are more emotional and would like to “hear” their nonverbal children with extra needs – to hear them “say” “I love you” or things with deep feelings and emotions. One of the worst examples is a Dr that is well known in the community in SD, who came to our Center with her child. She tried to convince me that FC is great while her child was minimally verbal but couldn’t type to save his life. She told me he can solve for x but he couldn’t even do simple addition. He was a smart kid. Within a few months of working with us, he learned the alphabet, counting, very basic math, etc., although he still had SIBs because he couldn’t type more than that. Anyhow, she got upset with me suddenly, left with her child, unfriended me, blocked me, smeared my name, and 6 months later, I found out her child “wrote a book” with the help of another Autism organization. And also is selling “his art”, She knows he didn’t write it and I know for sure he didn’t write the book but she still did it and still promotes this con, parents believe her especially because she's a "Doctor". #S2C #Spelling2Communicate is a sibling of #FacilitatedCommunication #FC & #RapidPrompt #RPM, All through facilitators & not the kid themselves. We want to see #Autistic people typing themselves independently, Not dependent on others who use them as puppets by holding up a keyboard or Stencil. What could be more arrogant and dehumanizing than to steal another person’s voice via FC, S2C, RPM, in order to prove intelligence? This method of "communication" Strips the individual of all independence and their authentic voice. In all video clips these facilitated nonverbal students appear as if they’ve already acquired language and literacy, language, reading, spelling, and math skills, usually, apparently, without any previous learning or any instruction that most kids depend on. What would happen at these sessions if the Facilitator 1. Didn’t hold up the board, keyboard 2. Speaks a different language than the student. 3. Autistic brain is different, the facilitator's words are the facilitator's, not autistic-like Also, the Nonsense of Motor skill issues. Autistic kids don’t have CP or MD, it has nothing to do with motor skills. All these kids navigate the IPad without any issues, they walk, sit, eat, etc.… Presumed competence means that you assume autistic people can do it on their own. There doesn't need to be anyone else in the picture to "guide" or "facilitate." All of these facilitated communication-related scams rely on the same assumption of an inability to type that isn't true. For me, Presumed Competence means, that it doesn’t matter what they say or type, it must be independently and not moving board, keyboard, stencil, etc.…Communication without Facilitation. Presume competence. FC, RPM, S2C steal an autistic child's voice by pretending that the autistic person is "speaking" when the person "speaking" is actually the facilitator. Non-speaking autistics can type on their own. No facilitator is needed. "Spellers" scam by pretending autism means motor skill issues when it doesn't. I'm often asked "But does ABA 'work'?". Oh it works, it smashes your autistic child’s esteem & molds them to mimic neurotypical behaviour whilst in constant fight or flight. PTSD for life & no awareness of rights or autonomy. Susceptible to grooming. Is that what you want? I'm often asked "But does FC/RPM/S2C/magic 'work'?". Oh magic works, it makes your autistic child compliant and tricks their parents, fulfilling their hopes and wishes to “say” things. But the child doesn’t even know what they are "saying". But it works because their parents’ ego will lead them to brag about 'look my child is smart, I told you so' whilst in constant fight or flight. PTSD for life & betrayal trauma and no awareness of rights or autonomy. Susceptible to grooming. Is that what you want? All achieving the same issues of Dependency, abuse, PTSD Prompt Dependence, and Betrayal Trauma. We need to support kids’ autonomy. When we make them Dependent on us and other strangers and expect compliance to be hand-over-hand we are going against what is important for mental well-being: the ability to self-regulate, sense of self, and self-value. Would have been nice if they just use the same energy to help our children with extra needs. This federal money 100% should be given to the children and the family who is taking care of them. Kimberly could not even answer basic questions during questioning, lacking the intelligence and ability to support the practice of ABA. She contradicts her own statements, every time. After the UnFair hearing at the Regional Center against ABA and OAH “Judge”, Regional Center retaliated against our family using many dirty tactics while using taxpayer money to abuse their power. Regional center attorney Ron's house attempted to intimidate and sabotage the hearing about ABA is abusive therapy and the long term effect on autistic children, by using one of his many of his underhanded tactics. We arrive the morning of the hearing and were baffled to see multiple people who came unwarranted. Regional center and Ron House intentionally withheld the fact that we're bringing their psychologist (Thank god is not so smart, to say the least) It was a complete surprise so we weren’t ready. Allegedly, OAH “Judge” didn’t know in advance, allegedly… Throughout the hearing the OAH “Judge”, Ron House was very dismissive, Passive-aggressive, especially toward Dalia, Ethan’s mum When Dalia said: We weren’t notified, OAH “Judge dismissively told her, “Okay, alright.” But 1.No, it’s not Okay that we weren’t notified 2. It’s not okay to be dismissive and passive-aggressive toward mum 3. It’s not okay not to question why The recording was next to her so you can hear her intentionally obnoxious typing with a loud mechanical keyboard OAH “Judge” said: I’m not the fastest typist so, I might SLOW YOU DOWN FOR MY PURPOSE WHY IS OAH “JUDGE’ IS TYPING NOTES IF THE HEARING IS RECORDED? THE JUDGE’S JOB IS TO LISTEN. NOT TO BE A STENOGRAPHER. Projection is a Maladaptive Psychological Defense Mechanism. It means: attributing one’s own unacceptable feelings, thoughts, and behaviors to others and not yourself. In OAH DECISIONS you READ all of the Lies, & Unacceptable, Ethical Behaviors they are Projecting onto other Professionals, Families, and Vulnerable Children. They Engage in NASTY (OBSCENE) Behavior and then Accuse You of doing it in their Written Report-Projection. Typing loudly when it’s your turn. 5. Interrupting to protect their witness from their own ignorance. 6. Helping their witnesses on the stand. 7. Dismissive and Passive-Aggressive especially toward moms The list goes on. .. Never EVER Believe what you Read in the Written Decision Report. What they Write is NOT what Actually Happened, it is NOT What was Actually Said, and it Does NOT show their Behavior, Lies, and Intimidation Tactics. These people that claim to help autistic children, have the audacity to call Autistic kids - ID (Intellectually disabled) , It is very clear who is the ID here, you can actually HEAR them SPEAKING. The fact that Kim is VERBAL & got her PhD 3,000 YRS ago, doesn’t make her smart, educated or knowledgeable. We don’t care how many degrees you have. If you don’t keep up with research, & when we feed them with a silver spoon all the research that proves that ABA is abusive & they still have Cognitive Dissonance, that's another level of stupidity. OAH, only provides the public with the written “decision” of the OAH “Judge” so you will miss all the important details and the TRUTH of what really happened. 3. The outcome is always Pre-Determined with a decision and Conclusion ready to go 4. Regional Center is in bed with OAH and DDS I cannot help but feel disgusted & appalled at how the members of the court cooperated to betray the convicting truth presented in court in order to continue the outdated and abusive practice that is ABA. Whether it was the "judge" who made the decision despite testimonies and evidence against ABA, the disrespectful & apathetic attorney, or the psychologist who is so disconnected from her clients, she has no understanding of their diagnosis or ability… They are responsible for all the lives that they Should have helped & caused harm just for $$$$ and Power over innocent children & their families. Regional Center (RC) head Psychologist admits to giving over 1,000’s children ID Diagnosis (Intellectually Disabled) without an evaluation and claims that no one ever disagrees with her. The hidden agenda of Regional Center for adding ID diagnosis (Intellectually Disabled) while deceiving parents to have their children with autism conserved, is that later on, when they turn 18+ RC can take over and force them into a group home that they control and make lots of money, it's always about Money... Regional Center is building up a false record for Autistic Children and conspiring with the OAH (Kangaroo court that always sides with RC and Schools against parents and their children) in order to get Ethan and other autistic children taken from home and placed in an abusive state custody. Regional Center together with OAH in CA are the most Corrupt, Disgusting, abusive and are using constant harassment and discrimination against Autistic children and their families.
