Golden Retriever does a flawless bunny imitation after snow storm
Riley is a 1 year old golden retriever who is still very much a puppy at heart. She loves to play more than anything and although swimming is her favourite activity, playing in deep snow seems to be a close second. She was delighted to find herself in the deep drifts near her house after a tremendous snowfall.
Canada was hit recently by a snowstorm that dropped more snow in a short period of time than they had seen on decades. And dogs like Riley were thrilled! She seems to be imagining herself as a bunny as she hops repeatedly through the fluffy white stuff.
Golden retrievers are known for their happy-go-lucky personalities and their love for everyone they meet. They might just be the most loveable dog breed on the planet. Riley is no exception as everyone she meets falls in love with her.
Riley has a love for her stuffed animals and balls and she is happiest at playtime. She also loves to hike and explore, sticking her nose into every nook and cranny that offers an unusual smell. Often called nosy, Riley needs to be involved with everything going on around her.
Riley's owners take great delight in watching Riley displaying such joy. It warms the heart to see such a happy dog, even on a cold and snowy day such as this one!
Riley is a very lucky dog. She began her life at a wonderful breeding facility in Ontario, Canada. As Good As Gold carefully selects their dogs' forever homes, ensuring that the dogs receive all the love and care that they deserve. They provide ongoing training support and advice about everything from nutrition to obtaining proper veterinary care.
Animals in shelters desperately need homes and there are many great reasons to find your next dog there, but for those who get their pets from breeders, it is worth the time to research and find a good one.

Sanctuary cow moos with delight for her treats
Claire is one of the resident cows at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue in Texas. She has found a safe place and a forever home.
These curious cows live on a magical farm in Texas known as Black Dog Farm and Rescue. It's a place where animals of all kinds find sanctuary and love. Here, they have been living the good life, but it wasn't always so easy for these gentle beasts. Each of them has found their way here due to medical issues of other problems that made them too expensive for their owners to keep them on the farm where they once lived. In the farming world, an animal that costs more than they are valued at must have their time cut short.
But at this wonderful sanctuary, animals come here to find the help they need, as well as a forever home. Claire has been here almost a year and she has been soaking up the love and feasting on the ample supply of food. She and the other cows play and interact with the family that runs this farm. They have learned to trust their humans completely.
Black Dog Farm can be found on Facebook. They do amazing work, which is only possible with the support of friends, family and other animal lovers. Please check out their page and consider helping them do the work that these little creatures so richly deserve.

Cow adorably nudges brother along to get his treats
Benny Nigel and Claire are three very happy cows these days, but it wasn't always this way. They all began their lives on typical farms, where they were destined to become food. Benny and Nigel were born just as Covid hit and meat processing plants were scaling back operations. Farms must run as a business and it was an unfortunate truth that these two beautiful souls were no longer worth the food they eating. The farmer could keep them and lose money, or he could euthanize them and cut his losses. Claire was in a similar situation and she was destined for the slaughterhouse.
Jennifer and Jim run the Black Dog Farm and Rescue in Texas and they heard what was about to happen to Claire, Benny, and Nigel. They couldn't allow the calves to die so they brought them here. These cows are like giant farm puppies and they are loved and valued here. They are treated more like pets or family members, and their future is a long and happy one.
Here, we can see the social dynamics and the friendships that have developed. The cows have personalities that are far more complex and beautiful than most people realize. When it's treat time, Claire actually nudges her brother adorably, seeming to want him to go and get his share. As they gather around the fence, they are as motivated by the affection that is handed out as they are by the crunchy snacks. The cows here learn their names quickly and they come when called. They are eager to interact with the human caregivers. They are also eager to play and interact with each other. This is what happens when a cow is showered with kindness and given the chance to roam and play with enough space and enough food.
At this wonderful sanctuary, animals come here to find the help they need, as well as a forever home. Nigel, Benny, and Claire have been here almost a year and they have been soaking up the love and feasting on the ample supply of food. They have learned to trust their humans completely.
This sanctuary takes in the most needy animals with the most bleak chances at life. For many, this is their last chance at the life that they deserve. Black Dog Farm can be found on Facebook. They do amazing work, which is only possible with the support of friends, family and other animal lovers. Please check out their page and consider helping them do the work that these little creatures so richly deserve.

Cat Desperately Tries to Befriend Rescued Goat
Lucy, a very friendly cat is trying her best to welcome Judi, a new arrival at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue. Lucy is part of a litter of three kittens that arrived at this sanctuary in Texas when they were just three days old. Unwanted and uncared for, Lucy and her litter mates were abandoned and left to die. Without their mother, or human intervention, they would not have made it through the night. Jennifer and Jim took them in at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue, knowing that they would need frequent bottle feedings around the clock. This is what they do at Black Dog and Jennifer and Jim are no strangers to the night shifts.
Lucy has thrived here and she is often referred to as "Parkour Kitty" for her habit of climbing anything from ledges and railings to Christmas trees.
Lucy also considers herself the ambassador of Black Dog Farm and she tries to befriend and welcome all creatures. She will cuddle with anything warm, even a got like Judi.
Judi is new here and she has some very big challenges. She suffers from neurological damage and she needs a lot of physiotherapy and extra help. Even walking is difficult without assistance, but her legs are getting stronger with exercise and massage. Judi is an indoor goat so she wears a diaper to help with her hygiene. As she settled in at her new home, Lucy decided she would try to engage in a friendly game or two. She began patting Judi wherever she could reach. Judi is a little suspicious of the attention at this point so her response to this is a headbutt.
It only took Judi a few days to get used to cuddling with cats as we can see. Very soon after Lucy's welcome, Judi was sharing a couch on the front porch with Hemingway, a 23 pound cuddly cat who has found a forever home at this beautiful animal paradise.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue accepts some of the neediest and most desperate animals. Many are permanently adopted, and some move on. But every single animal that comes into their care will be provided a carefully selected forever home, or they simply never leave.
The farm is a wonderful place with acres for the animals to run and play. They are provided with vet care and excellent nutrition.
Socialization and mental stimulation are important here as well, and the animals thrive and respond well to the kindness and love that they find here.
Please look them up on Facebook and follow the heart warming stories or see what you can do to help them accomplish the magic that they make happen for these deserving souls.

Dogs React With Complete Joy When Garden Hose Appears
These are two dogs with an incredible story. They have never known anything but the perfect life on the farm where they were born. But it wasn't going to be that way. They were very nearly born into a life of despair, neglect, and abuse. Looking at their playful and joyful personalities, you would never know how close they came to such a different existence.
Jennifer has brought out the hose to fill some water buckets for the animals on a hot day. When the dogs showed great interest in the hose, she decided to play some water games with them. Their reaction was beautiful.
Faith is the devoted mother of these gorgeous husky/shepherd cross pups. She was found abandoned and pregnant, ready to have her pups without any help from anyone. She acted like an abused and discarded dog. But somebody took pity on her and called Black Dog Farm for help. The owners, Jennifer and Jim rushed out to pick Faith up and bring her to their sanctuary. They found her in a rough neighborhood with a piece of plywood leaning on some bricks for shelter. She was chained in the yard and was obviously getting no affection and very little food. It was as if she was just being forgotten. Faith was just days away from giving birth. With a few kind words, Faith was eager to get into a kennel and then into the truck with Jennifer and Jim.
But two miles down the road, Jim pulled over and Jennifer brought Faith up to the front of the truck to sit on her lap. Since that day, Faith goes everywhere on Jennifer's lap. Faith arrived at Black Dog Farm in Texas and made herself at home that first night. She gave birth to these 6 beautiful and healthy pups. Despite being less than a year old herself, Faith was a devoted mother to her little family. She nursed them and watched over them protectively as they played and grew. All six pups went on to carefully selected forever homes but Faith had found her forever home right here on the farm. She has become so attached to Jennifer that she just would not thrive anywhere else. And she makes the perfect ambassador at this little piece of Paradise.
These pups have all found loving families who give them the life that they deserve. They even held a virtual birthday party for the pups when they all reached one year.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue can be found on Facebook. They help the most needy and most challenged animals become all that they can be, and all that they deserve. Playful Kittens Are Thrilled With Their New Toy
These kittens are experiencing joy for the first time. They have just arrived at their rescue sanctuary and their bellies are full. These kittens are having a wonderful time playing with their new toys at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue. They are in the best possible place they could be, but this might have been a narrow escape for these tiny creatures. To see them so carefree, chasing their tails and their ball is enough to warm the heart.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue is an amazing facility that operates in Texas. The owners, Jennifer and Jim have been rescuing animals for several years and their sanctuary is home to dogs, cats, cows, hens and a guinea pig. They have hearts of gold and they cannot turn away an animal in need.
As Jennifer and Jim were parking and preparing to go into a store for food, they saw a truck in the parking lot behind the store. A man stood by a kennel with a sign that advertised "free kittens". Although there were no signs of abuse or neglect, and the kittens seemed to have been well cared for, Jennifer knew this situation was a recipe for disaster.
Jennifer knows from experience that not all "free" animals end up in good homes. In fact, some animals end up being sold to illegal dog fighting rings, or for food for other pets.
Jennifer explains how she accepted all four kittens without even laying eyes on them, and that they found their way to Black Dog Farm. She also recorded their first moments at the farm as they play and explore their toys happily.
Jennifer has seen the tragedy that can befall kittens or any other pets that are given away without proper background information on their prospective owners.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue accepts some of the neediest and most desperate animals. Many are permanently adopted, and some move on. But every single animal that comes into their care will be provided a carefully selected forever home, or they simply never leave.

Rescued cow rolls with sheer joy at his forever home
Nigel is thrilled with his new sense of freedom. His joy is heart warming as the plays and chases his friend, Benny around the paddock at the farm where he now lives. Nigel is just a gigantic farm puppy. The cows here are more like dogs than most people would expect.
Nigel will live the rest of his days in the safety and security of this sanctuary, Black Dog Farm and Rescue. But life didn't start this well for Nigel. He came from a nearby farm where he and his friend, Benny were destined to become food very shortly. Covid put a halt on meat production long enough for the farmer to realize that the calves would be eating hay and grain and costing him money, but they were no longer valuable. This is the farming industry and the cows are a source of income. They were never intended to be pets. But Jennifer and Jim run this beautiful farm in Texas. They called it Black Dog Farm and Rescue because black dogs are much more likely to be rejected and abandoned than dogs of any other colour. They knew Benny and Nigel would thrive at their sanctuary and that these gentle beasts should never be treated as livestock to be slaughtered, especially because they had suddenly simply devalued.
Jennifer and Jim bought the cows from the farmer and brought them here to their forever home. It was a strange, new world for these two cow friends, but they responded quickly to love and kindness and to gentle human interaction. Given free time to play, the bond between the two grew rapidly and they are now inseparable. They run and play, checking out new things with a touching and surprising curiosity. They are playful and happy as they learn to trust the humans who run this magical place. They come when called by name.
Nigel took a break from his rolling to come running for a snack. He adores treats, and he thrives in the freedom of choosing whether to run in the sunshine or nap in the straw.
The cows here are truly free. They will live here in safety as long as they need to. Many of the dogs and cats who are rescued by this organization will move on to carefully selected forever homes. Many others, such as Nigel and Benny, need to remain here. The dogs and cows even accept and play with each other. The farm also provides a home for goats, hens, and even a rescued guinea pig.
This magical rescue runs through the hard work and sacrifice of Jennifer, Jim, and their family, but it also relies on generous support from other animal lovers. Please follow this channel to keep up to date on the wonderful things that happen here, and find them on Facebook to follow their posts. The updates are inspiring and fascinating, and at times tragic, and even funny. You'll fall in love with the amazing animals that have found their paradise.
Donations are always gratefully accepted to help them work their magic.

Rescued pit bull with incredible story loves new squeaky toy
Beauregard is a lucky old dog who has found a home at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue. It was a small miracle that he was found and given a second chance.
Beauregard was completely alone, surviving somehow without any help from anyone. With an injured leg, he was limping his way to a creek to get a drink of water.
As luck would have it, he picked the right moment because a car was driving past at that time. And the occupants of the car happened to be Jim and Jennifer, the owners of a beautiful sanctuary and rescue called Black Dog Farm and Rescue. Jim's treats and Jennifer's soft voice made it easy to trust these people and Beauregard was obviously hungry and in desperate need of help.
Beau limped over to Jennifer with blood covered ears. After a few treats, he followed Jennifer around the truck and into the horse trailer that they were pulling. Jim closed the door and Jennifer rode in the trailer with Beau the rest of the way home.
Beauregard didn't seem to mind. He was happy to find loving people and treats. Beau's first day was spent at the veterinary clinic getting his paw looked after. He had been caught in a coyote trap. It seems that he was stuck and had to free himself at the expense of part of his paw. The tears on his ears could have been from barbed wire or an attack.
It's impossible to know exactly how old Beau is. His teeth were badly neglected and he was in rough shape when he was found. But he's found his forever home at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue. All he wants now is cuddles and noisy squeaky toys. Beau picked this toy out of the box himself and now he and his buddie, "Piggy" are inseparable.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue is located in Texas. They take in the neediest and most hopeless cases that nobody else can or will help. Often, they are abandoned due to medical needs and expense. Other times, they are simply discarded animals who deserve much better treatment than what they had been getting. But when these beautiful souls find their way to Jim and Jennifer, they will always get the love and care that they deserve.
This beautiful sanctuary relies on the kindness and support from animal lovers all over the world. They gratefully accept donations. They can be found on Facebook, Rumble, and YouTube.
Anyone wishing to help them work their magic can comment on the Rumble video or reach out through Facebook.

Kitten wakes up happy after first night in new sanctuary
Milo is a very lucky kitten who has just had his first restful night in his life at Black Dog Farm and Rescue in Texas. He settled in and had a sound sleep, waking up refreshed and relieved to know the feeling of a full belly and a warm bed. This was also the first time that Milo could feel safe and protected from harm.
Milo's life began a few weeks earlier as a street cat.
Texas recently experienced torrential rains and severe flooding. Stray animals were particularly vulnerable and a difficult life was made even more so as Milo and his littermates were in danger of drowning. They had been chased up a tree by stray dogs, likely starving themselves. His mother and two brothers did not survive and Milo was left with a torn ear. It seems that he had barely escaped death.
Alone and crying, Milo was not going to survive. Somebody heard him crying and they contacted Black Dog Farm and Rescue through Facebook. Jennifer and Jim drove right over and wrapped Milo in a blanket. Exhausted, he slept for 12 hours straight.
This is Milo's first morning at the sanctuary. He immediately felt the relief of a warm, dry bed and safety. He also responded to human kindness, which he had never experienced before. Milo rolled around in his bed in the most adorable way, purring and looking for affection.
Milo is a perfect example of what happens when people allow their animals to roam free outdoors, without being spayed and neutered. More puppies and kittens are born each year than there are people willing to care for them. They become wild or feral and they live lives full of danger and suffering, if they survive at all. In Milo's short life, he experienced more than his fair share of trauma and pain. But now, he has a second chance, all because he found people who care enough to love him, pet him, and give him a full belly.
Milo spent a few weeks at the farm and then he went on to a carefully selected forever home with a family who has as much love as Milo has. Who wouldn't want to cuddle with this little ball of fur?!
Black Dog Farm and Rescue performs the near impossible, taking in the most hopeless and most needy animals. Their stories are posted on Facebook and they will warm your heart. And if you have it in your heart to support them and the animals that they rescue, they will gratefully accept any donations to help cover the cost of feeding and rehoming these beautiful souls. Some of the animals who land at this wonderful place never leave. And that's also a happy ending in every way imaginable.

Puppy drags toy bunny into his lair and adorably attacks it
This is Kobe and he is a rescued puppy who has found a second chance at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue in Texas. Kobe is a happy little puppy who doesn't know life outside of this wonderful sanctuary where he lives. He was born here after his mother was found in desperate need of help.
Kobe is showered with love and affection. He has space to explore and to play, as a puppy should be able to do. But life for Kobe wasn't always going to be so perfect. His mother, Faith, had a very tough start in life.
Faith was found abandoned and pregnant, ready to have her pups without any help from anyone. But somebody took pity on her and called Black Dog Farm for help. Faith's puppy, Kobe, can be seen in this video as he is introduced to a new toy bunny. Goat with disability has very cuddly friendship with rescued cat
These two beautiful animals have found a second chance at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue in Texas. Hemingway is a huge cat with extra toes (polydactyl). He's a 23 pound lovebug who cuddles and sits in laps for as many hours each day as he can get away with. And now, he has found a cuddly friend in Judi, one of the newest arrivals at the sanctuary. She's a tiny, underdeveloped goat who has spastic paresis, a condition that renders her back legs almost useless.
Judi manages to walk on her front legs as if she is doing a handstand. She receives multiple sessions of physiotherapy and massage each day to help with her comfort level.
Because Judi requires so much care, she lives in the house with the dogs and cats. This means that she must wear a doggy diaper to prevent messes. She has become very attached to Hemingway and she nudges him and pokes him with her nose as they cuddle. Hemingway is a gentle soul and he tolerates this very well.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue was created to give the most needy and desperate animals a second chance. They help dogs, cats, cows, goats, chickens, and even guinea pigs. This wonderful farm is a rescue for animals whose treatment would be too costly or too difficult for most people to manage. And they take in their share of animals that are simply unwanted or abandoned by people who never deserved a pet in the first place.
Many animals here are placed in carefully selected forever homes where they receive the love and care that they deserve. Others find their forever home right here. Jim and Jennifer run this sanctuary with their two children. Judi has become so attached to 13 year old Kennedy that she cries pitifully if Kennedy leaves the room, even briefly.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue is active on Facebook and their posts are inspirational, funny, and occasionally sad. But many of the stories are about triumph and love and the good that can be done with determination and a true love for animals. Jennifer and her family have hearts of gold and they accomplish the impossible for these wonderful rescues. They are always grateful for any financial support that is offered.

Rescued puppy tries so hard to befriend unimpressed cat
This is Kobe, a brave little rescued puppy who is full of enthusiasm and joy, and he wants to make friends with everyone. The cat, however, not so much...
Kobe was one of the first in the litter to try his luck with the much larger, Alfie, also a rescue with a heart warming story. Alfie had been dumped at a high kill shelter in Houston, abandoned by a family that forgot how to be loyal to such a loving soul. Alfie also had a snapped femur, which was unexplained at the time.
Alfie was going to need expensive surgery and care and despite being handsome and charming, he was not going to be adopted.
But Alfie was found by Black Dog Farm and Rescue in Texas. He was affectionate and loving from the moment he was picked up. Even through his surgeries and recoveries, all he wanted was love, and he had plenty to give back.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue provides homes for dogs, cats, cows, hens, and other animals. They take on the most costly and desperate cases, reluctant to give up on anything that wants to live. And animals like these, who haven't given up on people.
Kobe never knew life before Black Dog Farm. He was born on this farm when his mother, Faith was brought here, pregnant and needing love and care. Faith was a devoted mother who cared for her babies like a true mother. Alfie watched the puppies grow and they grew on him too. Kobe and Alfie have become extremely good friends. They play constantly, always being careful to never hurt the other.
Black Dog Farm runs, in part, due to the generosity and support of animal lovers around the world. Follow them on Rumble, YouTube, Facebook and please, consider making a contribution that helps them perform their miracles. They would love your support, no matter how much or how little.

Rescued calves have a ball learning to drink from a hose
These calves have just found a second chance at life. They were living on a beef farm, destined to end up on a butcher's block within months. But the slaughterhouses in Texas shut down due to Covid 19 and the farmer who owned them was unable to take them to the market. He also knew that he could not afford to feed them indefinitely either. Tragically, an animal that is not marketable is considered a liability on a beef farm, and these two were simply going to be killed and buried.
The owners of Black Dog Farm and Rescue got wind of what was about to happen and they hurried over to the farm to rescue these calves from a horrible fate. They bought the calves from the farmer and took them to their sanctuary. Although they are a financial liability on this farm too, it doesn't matter here in this wonderful piece of paradise.
The ear tags were removed and the calves were given names; Nigel and Benny. They were shown love and affection, given treats and lots of food, and room to run and play. Nigel and Benny responded immediately to the kindness that they were shown, and they were full of joy to be able to run around like giant farm puppies. They chase each other and roll on the ground with joy every day.
And something else that they are learning is how to drink from the hose. They have troughs full of fresh water at all times, but the calves are curious and when they saw the hose they wanted to know what it was all about. Like kids, drinking from the hose on a hot summer day, these two are all for the experience.
Jennifer was a little generous with the spray when it was Benny's turn and he got more than he expected. But Nigel didn't let that ruin his fun!
Black Dog Farm and Rescue takes the most needy and desperate animals and gives them a safe place. Follow them on Facebook, Rumble and YouTube for regular updates.
They are also very grateful for any donations that can be used to help foster animals like Benny and Nigel.

Speedy dog shows that lasers aren't just fun for cats
Faith is a beautiful soul who has found her forever home at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue in Texas. She loves her new life in this wonderful place full of affection and stimulation and she has never felt so free as she does. Her joy at running full speed around the yard and through the pastures is obvious.
Faith will chase a ball, a stick, or her humans as long as they will play with her. Seemingly tireless, she is at her happiest when she is showing off her speed and agility. Of course, her family cannot run nearly as fast or as long as Faith can, so they became very imaginative with new ways to challenge her and keep her entertained. One way to give her exercise is to use the laser on the grass. She will chase it and try to catch it, but she also tries to race ahead of it as if to show the laser that she is faster. Perhaps she believes that the laser is up for a game of trying to catch her. She circles the yard, cuts corners, snaps at the light and sometimes seems to be enjoying victory as she passes it. Faith is a very clever dog and it's even possible that she knows this is a game for her humans and this is all just her playing along.
Faith came to the Black Dog Farm like most of the animals here. She was unwanted and she had been wandering, begging for food. A family recognized that she was a stray and they fed her, wanting to help her. But all they could provide her was a little lean-to shelter. They realized that Faith was pregnant and they called Black Rog Farm and Rescue to do what they could. Jennifer and Jim arrived, expecting a skittish dog who would shy away from people. Somehow, Jennifer and Faith connected instantly and she hopped into the truck and right into the kennel without any coaxing.
Three miles down the road, Jim stopped the truck. Jennifer put Faith on her lap for the rest of the trip and the two bonded completely on the ride home. Jennifer's lap is now one of Faith's favourite places to be.
Faith had her pups but she was in severe distress throughout the pregnancy, losing weight and struggling to keep food down. The veterinarians ran endless tests but they could not diagnose her issues.
Jennifer stayed with her almost 24 hours a day. Neither she, nor Faith would give up. Faith had her puppies and still continued to lose weight, but she nursed those pups like a devoted mother. Somehow, they found the right combination of medications and Faith responded to the treatments. She began gaining weight and she and her puppies thrived.
All pups found wonderful homes and Faith also found hers. She suffers from anxiety when she isn't near Jennifer and she likely cannot be placed anywhere without it being too hard for her. But she is loved and adored at this sanctuary, and she fits in beautifully, getting all the love and attention that a dog deserves. Her second life has more than enough happiness to make up for the first one. This incredible sanctuary takes in the most needy and the most desperate cases, and often those in need of medical attention that their owners cannot or will not fund. Many of the animals here start out "broken". But after they mend or heal, and become the beautiful souls that they were meant to be, they find their way to carefully selected forever homes. Some will stay here forever, like Faith, living where they can get the care that might not be possible elsewhere. And a few actually "work" here, serving as a welcoming committee and mentor for the animals that are needing reassurance and support from their own kind.
Black Dog Farm performs miracles almost every day and they are grateful for any support that is offered to help them continue their work. Please follow them on Rumble, YouTube, and Facebook and see the updates and the antics. And please feel free to sponsor an animal or help them with their costs.

Rescued cat is all purrs and happiness on first night at new home
Jake is a very happy cat now that he has found his forever home. He's enjoying a cuddle on the bed after a big meal. And he seems to be drifting off, dreaming of something wonderful. He kneads and works his paws as if he's trying to make bread or biscuits and if cats can smile, then that's a big one on Jake's face tonight.
But his story wasn't always so happy. Like so many owners, Jake's previous family picked him up as a kitten. Cute and adorable, he was a great fit for the family. But when he grew up, it wasn't the same. They had a baby and Jake was probably feeling ignored. Or maybe he was just curious. Jake chewed some small pieces of a baby bottle that had been left where he could get them. And for that, Jake, and his brother were taken immediately to a shelter where he faced adoption, or euthanasia if he was found quickly.
But in an ironic piece of this story, Jake and his brother had both been given girl's names. His owners didn't even seem to know that they were males. Or maybe they didn't care. But the two cats had seen a veterinarian when they were taken in for declawing, a very painful and unnecessary process that requires amputation at the knuckle. Jake's paws still bear scars that can be seen here. Presumably, the veterinarian would have told the owners that the cats were males, so their names remain a mystery.
Jake and his brother waited in the shelter, likely confused about why they had been abandoned, until they were found by caring souls who run the Black Dog Farm and Rescue. They were brought home together and given a bath, a meal, and a safe place to sleep. Incredibly, they showed no signs of mistrust, or misbehavior. They both settled in perfectly, lapping up the attention and catching up on their sleep.
Jake and his brother were given new names along with their new chance, and they don't seem to mind that either.
Cats, like any other pets, are long term commitments that many people don't take seriously enough. When situations change, it is possible for some people that they will have to give up a beloved pet. But abandoning them at a shelter that is already overflowing, where their chances of being killed are high, is never a fair way to treat a furry friend. It is far better for people to carefully consider whether they can care for an animal for life. This includes more than just providing food and shelter. They should understand that there will be veterinary bills, possible behavior issues, food costs and a lifelong need to be loved.
Fortunately, sanctuaries like this one are available. For the animals who are unloved, unwanted, and abandoned, there are people willing to keep the promises that should have been kept by others.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue is located in Texas and they provide homes for dogs, cats, cows, hens, and other animals. They take on the most costly and desperate cases, reluctant to give up on anything that wants to live. And animals like Jake, who haven't given up on people. He's ready to love and to be loved. And he's staying put in his forever home on the farm because he's just too perfect to ever rehome.
Black Dog Farm runs, in part, due to the generosity and support of animal lovers around the world. Follow them on Rumble, YouTube, Facebook and please, consider making a contribution that helps them perform their miracles. They would love your support, no matter how much or how little.

Rescued Dog Will Never Give Up Trying To Befriend Grumpy Cats
Faline is a beautiful dog with a personality to match. She has a love for people and all animals and her heart is as big as Texas, where she actually lives, at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue. She tries in the most adorable way to befriend these cats at the farm, as she tries to befriend all of the newcomers. She is like the welcoming committee, even though it is not always as well received as Faline hopes for. Black Dog Farm and Rescue began with Faline. This loveable soul was the first rescue, but she was also doing some rescuing herself.
Jennifer and Jim run the rescue operation and they got Faline out of the need to provide her with a safe home, but also to help their son who suffers with autism. He needed a companion like Faline. Jennifer was also suffering from some health problems and the love that Faline provided instantly made all of their situations much more comfortable. Faline was the perfect fit for their family.
As other animals found their way to Jennifer and Jim's homes, they opened their hearts and began helping cats, dogs and other animals. They were growing and they needed to find a bigger place fix what they had discovered was a bigger problem than first realized. More animals needed shelter and love than they had ever imagined. Faline was doing her job to welcome all the newcomers with charm and enthusiasm that could not have been better.
Jennifer and Jim moved to Texas and opened their farm up to cows, chickens and almost any other animal in need. They take the animals with medical issues or problems that others are not willing or able to help with. It is the most desperate of cases that find their way to this wonderful sanctuary.
In typical fashion for Faline, she can be seen here trying adorably to play with the cats at the farm. She imitates their movements and lifts her paws as if this is a game, but the cats are not as amused as she is. She never gives up and she turns on the charm while she tries to approach them. If they will allow it, she will also cuddle up close for some affection, but that opportunity eludes her most days.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue can be found on Facebook, YouTube and on Rumble. Their posts and videos are heart warming, funny, occasionally sad, but always worth following. And of course, they gratefully accept donations for food and medical care to help them accomplish the magic that happens in this wonderful place.

Kittens go crazy to get at birds & butterflies on TV
Ivy and Iris are two very lucky cats who live Black Dog Farm and Rescue in Texas. They found their way here after being given away as "free pets" from the back of a truck in a Walmart parking lot. Although well intentioned, the man giving them away had no idea the fate that can befall animals who are dumped in this manner. Many unfortunate animals end up being bait in dog fighting rings, or they become food for snakes or other reptiles. These kittens were rescued and brought to the sanctuary where they will live the good life until they can make their way to carefully selected forever homes.
But in the meantime, Ivy and Iris are finding entertainment on television. Their favourite show involves birds and butterflies moving on the screen. Convinced that they can get at the birds, they paw at the screen, trying frantically to get hold of one. Jennifer, the owner of the farm is understandably amused by the antics as she records the action.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue is aptly named, as their work began with Faline, an unwanted black dog. Many black dogs find themselves abandoned or neglected once the cute puppy stage is over. Most shelters and rescues are filled with black dogs, which are less likely to be accepted and loved than dogs of other colours.
After rescuing Faline, a few other dogs, and a few cats, Jennifer and her husband Jim decided to buy a bigger property and start a proper rescue centre. Now located in Texas, they also take in cows, goats, hens and even guinea pigs. The animals respond well to the love and kindness. Even the cows come running when they are called by name.
Black Dog Farm and Rescue can be followed on Rumble and on Facebook. They post regular updates about the adventures of all their animal family.

Rescued kittens have a blast on their first night at their sanctuary
These kittens are having a wonderful time playing with their new toys at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue. They are in the best possible place they could be, but this might have been a narrow escape for these tiny creatures.
Jennifer recorded the kittens in the back of her truck, moments after she adopted them, and she narrates as she shows the kittens drinking some fresh water. Jennifer explains that not all "free" animals end up in good homes. In fact, some animals end up being sold to illegal dog fighting rings, or for food for other pets.
Jennifer explains how she accepted all four kittens without even laying eyes on them, and that they are on the way to Black Dog Farm. She also records their first moments at the farm as they play and explore happily.
Jennifer makes an excellent point when she refers to the tragedy that can befall kittens or any other pets that are given away without proper background information on their prospective owners.

Cow best friends run and play with complete joy at their new sanctuary
Nigel and Benny are thrilled at their new sense of freedom. Their joy is heart warming as they play and chase each other all around the farm. They stop here to play with a hay bale, which is one of their favourite things to do. When a new hay bale is placed in their paddock, they run in circles around it, like a pair of gigantic farm puppies. They are more like dogs than most people would expect.
Nigel and Benny came from a nearby farm where they they were destined to become food very shortly. Covid put a halt on meat production long enough for the farmer to realize that they would be eating and costing him money, but they were no longer valuable. This is the farming industry and the cows were a source of income. They were never intended to be pets. But Jennifer and Jim run a beautiful farm in Texas called Black Dog Farm and Rescue. They knew Benny and Nigel would thrive at their sanctuary and that these gentle beasts should never be treated as livestock to be slaughtered, especially because they had suddenly simply devalued.
Jennifer and Jim bought the cows from the farmer and brought them to their forever home. They adore treats, and they thrive in the freedom of choosing whether to run in the sunshine or nap in the straw.
These cows are truly free. As they played with the hay on this sunny morning, Jennifer recorded them from afar, delighted that they had found such happiness.

Dogs go crazy before the vacuum cleaner even starts
These dogs are part of the crew at Black Dog Farm and Rescue. They hate the vacuum cleaner so much that even the anticipation of it starting sends them into a frenzy. Dogs can be so silly sometimes!
