Dancing revellers crash through a bus stop ROOF near Notting Hill Carnival as partygoers enjoy event
Dancing revellers crash through a bus stop ROOF near Notting Hill Carnival as partygoers enjoy event
Footage taken on the first day of Notting Hill Carnival shows a group of partygoers dancing on top of a bus shelter until it collapses.
The clip shared on social media shows a group of around eight people standing on top of the shelter, flaunting themselves in front of a throng of people in west London.
Dozens of spectators in the crowd had their phones in the air recording what was happening, until the roof of the shelter suddenly gave way.
An audible gasp can be heard among the festival-goers as the group suddenly plunges out of view. Two people suffered minor injuries in the incident in Ladbroke Grove, police say.
Reports of arrests and anti-social behaviour have blighted an otherwise joyous return for Notting Hill Carnival following a two-year hiatus due to Covid.
The Metropolitan Police said there have been 38 arrests made at the parade today, including two alleged sexual assaults and eight other physical attacks.
Other alleged offences included drug possession, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.
But despite these incidents, tens of thousands of revellers were able to enjoy the first day of the procession, with scores of dancers getting into the party spirit.
Outlandish costumes with peacock feathers and bright colours adorned the streets as revellers celebrated in their own unique way.
Many were seen dancing in large groups, while others showed off their moves to the assembled police officers.
Sunday, traditionally 'family day', saw bright and dazzling costumes as the carnival procession made its way through Ladbroke Grove.
Crowds of young children blowing whistles danced down the streets with their parents in tow.
Millions are expected to attend the carnival over the course of the two-day festival, which has had a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
Carina Charles, 40, a nurse from Basildon, said: 'I like the togetherness of the people and the mixture of the culture. My Caribbean music, the soca music is what I love the most.'
'Everybody is jovial - they are excited after coming out of lockdown after three years.'
Different sound systems dotted around the streets of west London entertained the dancing crowds as revellers smiled to the booming music.
Small children standing on the doorsteps of their houses waved Jamaican flags and waved at passers-by.
Shauna Walsh, 38, who lives in Kensal Rise, said: 'The atmosphere has been really uplifting and warming - it is nice to be back.'
A 72-second silence was also held this afternoon to commemorate the lives lost during the Grenfell fire disaster.
The carnival, which is an annual event celebrating Caribbean culture and is open to all, came to a halt at 3pm as a tribute to all those affected by the fire.
It comes after organisers were previously slammed for not planning to hold such a silence this year, despite the gathering having done so in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The carnivals in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to the pandemic.
Partygoers had planned to stop dancing, singing and playing music and come together as a community. But MailOnline understands that some were left upset and angry after no silence appeared to be held within sight of the tower itself.
Speaking at the carnival, London Mayor Sadiq Khan said he will 'never forget' the summer of 2017 and the impact of the 'awful' tragedy.
Up to two million people had been expected to attend the carnival, as they enjoyed the children's parade on family day (Sunday). Live performances from singers, dancers and musicians are among the entertainment planned for today.
Attendees have been told to expect travel disruption - some underground stations are closed or partially closed due to the carnival, and bus strikes affect many routes in west London too.
The children's parade, the focus point of the carnival today, has drawn to a close at 5.30pm - but live music and celebrations are expected to continue late into the evening.

Luxury hotel is swept away by floods in Pakistan
Luxury hotel is swept away by floods in Pakistan
Incredible video showed the unstoppable current of floodwater washing away entire villages — and a daring army helicopter rescue to save stranded people moments before they are swept away.
'I haven't seen destruction of this scale, I find it very difficult to put into words... it is overwhelming,' said Pakistan's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in an interview with Reuters.
Flash flooding from the heavy rains washed away villages and crops as soldiers and rescue workers evacuated stranded residents to the safety of relief camps and provided food to thousands of displaced Pakistanis.
Footage showed a daring helicopter rescue conducted by the army to save stranded people from what appeared to be a certain death.
Flash flooding from the heavy rains washed away villages and crops as soldiers and rescue workers evacuated stranded residents to the safety of relief camps and provided food to thousands of displaced Pakistanis.
Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority reported that the death toll has now reached 1,033 people after new fatalities were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southern Sindh provinces.
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the UN's disaster body, said that 184,000 people had been confirmed displaced — a figure expected to rise in the coming days.
In captured video, floods uprooted trees and swept away entire homes as the monsoon left whole communities destroyed.
Pakistani military chiefs released a video Sunday pleading with countries to offer their support, asking for financial aid after the army was deployed to rescue survivors.
Sherry Rehman, a Pakistani senator and the country's top climate official, said in a video posted on Twitter that Pakistan is experiencing a 'serious climate catastrophe, one of the hardest in the decade'.
'We are at the moment at the ground zero of the front line of extreme weather events, in an unrelenting cascade of heatwaves, forest fires, flash floods, multiple glacial lake outbursts, flood events, and now the monster monsoon of the decade is wreaking non-stop havoc throughout the country,' she said.
The statement was retweeted by the country's ambassador to the European Union.
Flooding from the Swat River overnight affected north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where tens of thousands of people – especially in the Charsadda and Nowshehra districts – have been evacuated from their homes to relief camps set up in government buildings.
Many have also taken shelter on roadsides, said Kamran Bangash, a spokesman for the provincial government.
He said some 180,000 people have been evacuated from Charsadda and 150,000 from Nowshehra district villages.
Khaista Rehman, 55, took shelter with his wife and three children at the side of the Islamabad-Peshawar highway after his home in Charsadda was submerged overnight.
'Thank God we are safe now on this road quite high from the flooded area,' he said. 'Our crops are gone and our home is destroyed but I am grateful to Allah that we are alive and I will restart life with my sons.'
The unprecedented monsoon season has affected all four of the country's provinces. Nearly 300,000 homes have been destroyed, numerous roads rendered impassable and electricity outages have been widespread, affecting millions of people.
Ms Rehman told Turkish news outlet TRT World that by the time the rains recede 'we could well have one fourth or one third of Pakistan under water'.
This is something that is a global crisis and of course we will need better planning and sustainable development on the ground … We'll need to have climate resilient crops as well as structures,' she said.
In May, Ms Rehman told BBC Newshour that both the country's north and south are witnessing extreme weather events because of rising temperatures.
'So in north actually just now we are … experiencing what is known as glacial lake outburst floods which we have many of because Pakistan is home to the highest number of glaciers outside the polar region.'
The government has deployed soldiers to help civilian authorities in rescue and relief operations across the country.
Military chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited flood-affected areas of southern Sindh province to expedite relief work there.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani army said in a statement that it airlifted 22 tourists who were trapped in a valley in the country's north to safety.

Russian soldier rudely awaken by Ukraine bomb
Russian soldier rudely awaken by Ukraine bomb
Striking surveillance footage shows the dramatic moment a Russian puppet official who switched sides in Ukraine is assassinated by resistance forces.
Askyar Laishev worked for Ukraine's internal security service (SBU) before joining the Moscow-backed Luhansk People's Republic as head of intelligence in 2014.
But members of Ukraine's National Resistance in the war-torn Donbas, eastern Ukraine got revenge by bombing his car as he drove through the city on August 11
It follows the similar killing of Putin official Ivan Sushko in Zaporizhzhia this week.
The National Resistance stated: 'We emphasize once again that collaborationism is harmful to your health, so every traitor has vain hopes that retribution will not come to him.'
Newly released CCTV video shows Laishev's car explode on Shevchenko Street, Staroblisk in Russian-held Luhansk, which fell under Russian control in early July.
The huge explosion is followed by the flaming wreckage continuing to move down the street.

boy rescues mom from seizure while in pool
boy rescues mom from seizure while in pool
A 10-year-old Oklahoma boy saved his mother from drowning when she had a seizure in their backyard pool, and the dramatic security camera footage was captured and shared by the family.
Gavin Keeney saved his mother, Lori, on August 5 in Enos, Oklahoma and marked the second time he was her hero after attempting a Heimlich maneuver and calling 911 when his mother choked on food in 2021.
He makes his way to his drowning mom and lifts her chin above the water, and reportedly did not call for help at all.
Gavin is unable to lift his mom out of the pool, but his grandpa Stephen Lowe appears in the frame toward the end of the clip, and is able to lift both to safety.
Lori called it 'one of the scariest moments of my life.'
Luckily, the Keeney’s dogs alarmed Lori’s father, Stephen Lowe, who lives next door, and he rushed to help his daughter.
Lori spoke to Storyful and said 'I was told later that he never asked for help. My dad, who lives next door, heard the dogs barking and he ran out and jumped in as Gavin held me on the ladder and kept my head above water.'
Lori posted the video to Facebook and said ‘one of my worst nightmares came to life this morning.’
She said she was 'hesitant' to share the video because it was 'very, very hard' for her to watch’ and she doesn’t like 'for people to witness when I have a seizure.'
'I'm okay, I took in just a little water we think before Gavin got me. I can't believe I just said that. I can't believe I'm typing this. I CAN believe what I saw in Gavin, my little hero,’ she said.
Gavin first had to save his mother in May 2021 when she started choking on a chip, forcing the boy to attempt a Heimlich maneuver.
But Gavin wasn't strong enough to clear his mom's airways and rapidly called 911, guiding firefighters to his mother who was gasping for air.
'She was still breathing, and we started the Heimlich maneuver,' recalled Enos Volunteer Fire Department Chief Joshua Gilette. 'After about the third or fourth thrust, it came free.'
Gavin's quick thinking that day earned him an honorary place in the Fire Department.
'He’s been through so much with me and my health and he handles it with such grace and maturity,' Keeney said. 'Proud isn't enough of a word!'

Paralysed cat running in diapers
Paralysed cat running in diapers
A paralyzed cat who wears a nappy and uses her front paws to get around has become a viral sensation with 73 million video views after she was rescued at two weeks old.
Aoife, a two-year-old tabby cat, boasts 59,0000 followers on Instagram and her owner, Sabrina de Matteo, 45, from Los Angeles, California, said the feline has 'stolen the hearts of millions of people'.
Sabrina, a fitness and wellness coach, has to manually empty the cat's bladder and bowels twice a day but hopes her videos show that a disabled cat can have a good quality of life despite not having use of her back legs.
She has to manually expel Aoife's excrement, which she says 'doesn't hurt the cat at all,' by pushing gently on her tummy until it comes out.
Sabrina, who lives with her husband, James, 40, also a fitness and wellness coach, and their six cats, said: 'Through the videos, people have been able to see just how loved and well looked after Aoife is.
'There are some people who say that it's cruel to keep her alive but to that I argue why? Because she is disabled?
'Aoife is not in pain - she is very happy. You just have to look at the videos to see that. Her needs may be different than other cats but her life has worth.'
Despite playing mother to five other cats, Sabrina says Aoife has settled in well at home.
Sabrina said: 'Aoife has a hilarious, fun and feisty personality and she is definitely the boss of the house. She has a very loving home and life.'
For Sabrina, who has always been a cat lover, adopting felines in need became a habit she could not break.
James and Sabrina have also adopted Pebbles, a five-year-old tortoiseshell, Kevin, a four-year-old black cat, Sofia, a three-year-old calico, Ellie Mae, a white three-year-old, and Peter, a two-year-old long grey hair.
She said: 'We already had two cats, Pebbles and Kevin, but we found Sofia on an animal shelter's webpage in May 2019 and just fell in love.
'She was a calico cat with a suspected broken leg who needed a home, so we brought her in. Then, Ellie Mae was found in the hood of a car and brought into a shelter, and we fell in love with her too, bringing her home in November 2019.
'She was so dirty that the shelter workers thought she was grey until they washed her, and it turned out she was white.'
After that, the couple adopted Peter, a grey long haired cat, during the pandemic. Sabrina said: 'My husband and I were stuck at home like the rest of the world. We found Peter on Instagram.

Orangutan grabs a woman's boob again
Orangutan grabs a woman's boob again
A cheeky orangutan in Thailand has made a habit of groping women who come to visit his enclosure.
The promiscuous primate greeted tourist Angel Orangelor, 27, by wrapping her in his embrace when she approached him in Bangkok's Safari World on August 15.
The great ape placed its hands on her cleavage then pulled her towards him and planted a kiss on the girl's cheek.
He then flashed a toothy grin to amused tourists while posing in front of his charge's friends.
It came weeks after the animal pulled a similar stunt with another female visitor.
Orangutans are among the smartest primates, and as one of the least aggressive great apes are generally non-violent to humans.
But they are extremely strong and have a bite force close to that of a lion, meaning any tourist willing to interact physically with an orangutan is at risk of serious harm
Angel, who was visiting the park while on holiday, said: 'The orangutan was just trying to show me some love. He looked very cute. He didn't hurt me and he was being friendly.
'My friends thought it was funny. We had a real bond.'
Angel was visiting the safari park on a trip with friends when the incident happened last week.
Her friend Fran said: The last moment where you're looking at him and he was sticking out his tongue, is so precious.'
Another pal added: 'He knows he can't get into trouble for doing this, that's why he's laughing.'

Boxer lands knockout blow split second after glove-touch
Boxer lands knockout blow split second after glove-touch
A boxer has been slammed on social media after brutally knocking out his opponent just moments after the pair touched gloves.
Lightweight prospect Ruben Torres sucker punched Cristian Baez in the seventh round of their bout in California on Saturday night.
The rivals had gone toe-to-toe throughout the fight, with both dropped to the canvas. Yet as Baez attempted to touch gloves during the seventh round, Torres knocked his opponent out with a left hook.
Referee Thomas Taylor immediately ended the fight and the punch from Torres was deemed legal - maintaining the prospect's unbeaten record.
Speaking after the fight, Torres said: 'Number one rule in boxing is protect yourself at all times. It’s obvious we have some sharpening up to do.
'You go into the fight and your confidence is high, then you touch the canvas, then you think, "I have some work to do."
'We have to go back to the drawing board. We’re still undefeated and we’re still coming. I have to get sharper.'
The knockout has divided fight fans on social media, with one writing 'poor sportsmanship at the very least, while another dubbed Torres as the 'dirtiest man in boxing.'
Yet some fans reiterated that it was a completely legal punch from the 24-year-old, writing 'no it’s not dirty, you are at war. Stop trying to hug and touch gloves.', while many claimed that you must 'protect yourself at all times'.
The incident has drawn comparisons to Floyd Mayweather's knockout of Victor Ortiz in 2011. Mayweather caught his opponent seconds after the pair embraced during the bout.
One fan wrote 'Mayweather did less than that and the whole boxing world was after him.'

Mother 'free birthing' her son in the ocean
Mother 'free birthing' her son in the ocean
A new mother has gone viral after sharing a video of her giving birth to her son in the Pacific Ocean.
Josy Peukert, 37, uploaded a post on Instagram showing how she and her partner, Benni Cornelius, 42, drove to the beach so she could have her baby on the shoreline of Playa Majagual, Nicaragua.
Explainng her decision, Josy said: 'I got this idea in my head I wanted to give birth in the ocean and because the conditions were right on the day that's what I did.'
When Josy knew her labour was starting, her children went to stay with friends and Benni drove the couple to the beach with a birthing tool kit which included towels, a bowl with a sieve to catch the placenta, gauze and paper towels.
Josy said: 'After Bodhi was born and wrapped up in towels I went back into the ocean to freshen up.
'Then I got dressed and we packed everything up and drove home where the three of us got straight into bed.
'Later that evening we weighed Bodhi with luggage scales, he was 3.5kg or 7lb 6oz.'
The mother-of-four says she wanted her baby to be born with no medical intervention because doctors and midwives take away from what the female body can do on its own.
She said: 'I wanted to be worry-free for once.
'My first birth was traumatic in a clinic and my second birth was a home birth but by the third even a midwife in my home was too much.
'This time I had no doctors appointments or scans or outside influence.
We didn't have a due date or deadline for the baby to arrive we just trusted that our baby would make its way.
'I had no fears or worries to welcome a new little soul into our lives, just me, my partner and the waves. It was beautiful.
'The soft volcanic sand under me reminded me there is nothing else between heaven and earth just life.'
Josy gave birth to a baby boy, Bodhi Amor Ocean Cornelius, on 27 February 2022. He is now 13 weeks old.
She said: 'For weeks, I monitored the tide and so when the time was right for me to give birth I knew the beach would be safe for us.
'Bodhi is a really calm and satisfied baby. Everything is wonderful for him if he is in mama's arms.
'He is just as relaxed as he was in my tummy.'
Josy and her husband-to be emigrated to Nicaragua from Germany where they met and had their first child together, Marley Mune, now two. Between them, they have seven children.
When Bodhi was two days old, Josy shared a video and birth story on her Instagram page @raggapunzel, where she has 6,800 followers and her video was shared all over the world. It has now been seen over 200,000 times.
However, after sharing her experience, Josy received some comments of concern and criticism about her choice to free birth in the sea.
One commenter asked: 'Is this sanitary? There's a lot of bacteria in the sea.'
Another wrote: 'What a shock for that bubba – from a warm womb to the cold ocean.'
esponding to the trolls, she added: 'Bodhi was born in the midday sun when it was about 35 degrees, we weren't worried at all that he'd be cold and I had no concerns about waterborne infections.
'He is perfectly healthy. I did all the research I needed to to make sure it was safe.
'Water is a barrier that is medically proven.
'For me and this baby I wanted to feel completely connected by my own self directed care.
'This pregnancy was the greatest gift we could have imagined and wished for.'

Cat delivers flying kick to take down aggressive dog
Cat delivers flying kick to take down aggressive dog
As counterintuitive as it gets, the cuddly and affectionate orange cats have a reputation for being aggressive and can unleash hell if provoked. A viral video on the internet shows how a German Shepherd suffered defeat at the hands of a feline when the cat delivered a flying kick to kill the game right in that moment. From the clip, it appears that the dog felt threatened and kept barking at the cat, which arched its back in an obvious sign of mutual aggression. #6ixworldnews

motor bike collides with car in horrific crash
A motorcyclist is lucky to be alive after he was t-boned by a car in a horror crash that resulted in him battling a brain injury and losing a testicle.
Incredible dash cam footage captured the moment the motorcyclist was hit after a driver seemingly failed to see him at the Princes Highway intersection, in Melbourne.
Catapulted high into the air after colliding with the car, the motorcyclist was left with serious injuries and told the Melbourne Magistrates Court he wants the driver jailed, Nine News reports.
Footage captured by the dash cam shows the motorcyclist riding down the middle lane of a three-lane road.
A car can be seen pulling across the three lanes just seconds before the motorcyclist reaches the intersection.
But after narrowly avoiding one vehicle the rider is then suddenly faced with another car in his path, which he is this time unable to avoid.
Slamming into the drivers' side of the vehicle at high speed, the rider is thrown over his handlebars and flies over the top of the SUV.
After doing a front flip in mid-air the rider lies motionless on the ground, with scans later revealing he had a brain injury, broken pelvis and a collapsed lung.
The horror crash left the motorcyclist in intensive care for a fortnight and unable to walk for up to three months.

Boat camouflaged as a rock speeds past the French coast
Boat camouflaged as a rock speeds past the French coast
A French artist has created an incredible camouflaged boat that masquerades as a floating rock.
Julien Berthier, 46, from Paris, used mostly polystyrene and epoxy resin to transform an old vessel into what appears to be a rock formation that has come away from the coast around Marseille, France.
Mind-bending footage recorded in June shows the boat - aptly named 'L'invisible', or 'The Invisible' – moving into the Mediterranean Sea as onlookers record the vessel on their phones in astonishment.
Mr Berthier is famous for his outlandish creations, having created a 'permanently sinking boat' in 2010 which was a fully operational vessel despite appearing half-sunken in the water.
His latest project began in September 2020 but due to Covid restrictions the six weeks of solid work was broken up, meaning the boat was only launched in June this year.
The artist, from Paris, said: 'I wanted to create something that intruded on the landscape as little as possible.
'As an artist these days everything can be about being as loud as possible, to stand out as much as possible on Instagram and social media.

Motorcyclists arrested for riding bike like Superman
A biker was arrested in Brazil after being stopped as he rode like Superman at high-speed along a busy road.
The crazed motorcyclist was using his head to steer his two-wheeler as he was filmed being passed by a car on the BR-153 near Annapolis in the state of Goias.
As well as facing a dangerous driving charge, the 24-year-old has also been accused of riding his motorbike without a proper crash helmet, having no number plate and driving without a licence.
Local paper A Voz de Annapolis, which published the video sent to it by a reader, which also showed the madman overtaking a car on the inside after sitting back in his seat, said: 'This boy had some explaining to do to the traffic police.'
Last year cycle rider Michael Guerra was filmed doing the same Superman stunt to overtake his rivals.
The video of his exploits went viral after it was posted as an ad for a bike shop based in Rimini, Italy.

paraglider dies crashing to ground in Brazil
paraglider dies crashing to ground in Brazil
A 26-year-old man who was training how to paraglide was killed in a tragic accident in Brazil.
Alexandre Pereira, was carrying out a practice paragliding flight when he crashed Sunday in Alagoa Grande, a rural city in the northeastern state of Paraíba.
A video recorded by a villager showed the moment when Pereira was descending and lost control of the paraglider.
The paraglider made several rapid turns midair before suffering a 131-foot fall and crashing across on a farm in the village of Vila Nova.
Pereira was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
According to Brazilian news outlet G1, Pereira had been practicing paragliding for several years.
The accident comes a month after a 38-year-old man was killed in a skydiving accident in the southeastern Brazilian state of São Paulo.
Footage recorded on an instructor’s helmet camera revealed how Andrius Jamaico acknowledged the directions on how to skydive and confirmed he was aware of the location of the parachute’s breakaway handle.
The skydiving instructor, who has a camera mounted on top of his helmet, subsequently releases Jamaico, who appeared to be in control before he suddenly stared to spin around.
The instructor was able to grab Jamaico by the leg but lost his grip.
Jamaico, who was skydiving only for the third time, continued to spin as the instructor deployed his parachute with the ground landing spot quickly approaching.
He fell approximately 6,500 feet from the sky and slammed into home's zinc roof panel before falling to the ground. He was declared dead at the scene.

digger on back of lorry slams into bridge on A23
digger on back of lorry slams into bridge on A23
Footage shows the moment a digger on the back of a lorry slammed into a bridge on a busy dual carriageway after a careless driver left its arm extended.
Lorry driver Joshua Scofield, 30, had failed to lower the crane despite an alarm system on the vehicle warning him about the fault before he set off on the A23 at Warninglid in Sussex.
Dashcam video from a vehicle travelling behind him on Wednesday, 3 November shows the digger bucket hoisted into the air as the lorry drove towards the bridge.
The digger bucket struck the bridge and was cut off the vehicle by the force of the impact, while Scofield continued to drive.
He pled guilty to dangerous driving and was disqualified from driving on Monday, August 15 for 12 months.
The 30-year-old, of Crawley, West Sussex, must take an extended retest before he is allowed to get behind the wheel again.
His crash caused hours of delays for drivers as the road was closed in both directions while engineers conducted safety inspections on the bridge.
He eventually stopped three miles down the road at Bolney, and was questioned by police.
Officers also found that the lorry had two defective tyres which could have blown out.
'The collision meant that the A23 had to be closed in both directions while engineers inspected the bridge to see if it was secure.'
The court also ordered Scofield to complete 100 hours of unpaid work, and to pay £500 costs plus a £95 victim surcharge.
PC Feeman added: 'It is the responsibility of drivers to make sure their vehicle is roadworthy and that the load has been safely secured or stowed.
'We are pleased that a dangerous driver has been taken off our roads.

Man gored to death by bull with flaming horns in cruel festival in Spain
Man gored to death by bull with flaming horns in cruel festival in Spain
This is the horrific moment a bull with flaming horns gores a young man who later died from his injuries during a bull-running event.
Shocking footage shows Adrian Martinez Fernandez, 24, being smashed by the furious, burning beast in the town of Vallada in Valencia, Spain, on Sunday during an annual event ran as a tribute to a patron saint.
The animal whose horns had been set alight for the festival turned Fernandez over and then gored him as terrified festival-goers, standing mere feet away but protected by railings, looked on in disbelief.
The 24-year-old, who had travelled from Almansa to attend the festivities, was taken by ambulance to the hospital as a precaution with no immediately visible injuries.
But the attack had ruptured his spleen and caused several other internal injuries, leaving medical staff with no hope of saving his life.
The City Council later suspended the bullfighting night due to take place later that day, as well as another even scheduled for Monday morning due to the death of the young man.
A bull with flaming horns is known as a 'toro embolado' - or 'bull with balls' - and is sight that can be witnessed in many Spanish towns during bull running events.
The animal has balls of flammable material attached to its horns, before they are set alight and the enraged bull is set free to tear through the streets.
Locals then try to dodge the bull as it rips through the town's roads, but the pain caused by the flames typically work the animal into a frenzy, making them even more dangerous.
A minute of silence was held instead in the town's Plaza to honour Fernandez after locals received news on Sunday night that he had died.
The town also sent their support and expressed their 'regret and solidarity' to the family and friends of the 24-year-old.
The municipality of Vallada is celebrating its patron saint festivities in honour of San Bertomeu, the Santísimo Cristo del Monte Calvario and the Virgen de Gracia.

boat explodes and bursts into flames at Florida marina
boat explodes and bursts into flames at Florida marina
Surveillance video shows the moment a boat exploded and burst into flames at a Florida marina on Sunday.
The footage, shared by the Daytona Beach Fire Department, shows the boat at Halifax Harbor Marina in Daytona Beach with multiple people on board and one person standing on the dock.
Suddenly the back half of the boat explodes, sending debris flying. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and the boat, called Jumper, sank.
According to the fire department, the explosion occurred shortly after refueling and turning the engine on. The boat's owner later told officials that the vessel's blowers were on, which helps remove any gasoline vapors in the engine room.
These vapors caught fire as soon as the boat was jumpstarted, causing the explosion. An investigation into what exactly happened is ongoing as the incident's official cause has not yet been released.
Four people were injured, one of whom was airlifted to an Orlando hospital. The injured victim is believed to be a woman in her 50s, suffering from severe burns.
The three other people in the incident were treated on site after declining to be taken to hospital, according to the Daytona Beach Fire Department.
Local boater Vincent Kraus was setting sail from the marina at around 1pm on Sunday when he witnessed the boat's explosion.
'We were on our way to help them to make sure everything was OK, but it was rescued there before,' he told WKMG.
The boat was hauled out of the marina, despite 85 percent of it sinking after the blaze.
'I could see the bow tail and part of the back,' Laurie Brennan, who witnessed the incident from the marina, also told the local news outlet. 'It was a very large vessel.'
'It's sad to see more than anything,' Ilene Jones, another boater, said. 'Somebody definitely had a bad day.'
DailyMail.com has reached out to the Daytona Fire Beach Department to inquire about the injured woman.
One of the most common causes for boats to explode is improper ventilation while refueling or failure of the blower system before engine reignition, according to Kansas-based law firm Presley & Presley, which specializes in catastrophic injuries and wrongful deaths.
It is deemed crucial to start ventilation before turning on motor boats due to fuel vapors often being located in the engine compartment.
Ventilation brings fresh air and removes fumes from a boat's bilge, or else static electricity can start a blaze and cause the boat to explode.
An estimated 250 boat explosions happen in the United States each year, according to The Doan law firm.
A spokesperson with the Daytona Beach Fire Department told DailyMail.com that boats catching fire happens once a year on average in the area and to 'just get away' when one takes place.

BULL rampages through Israeli BANK
BULL rampages through Israeli BANK
A mad scramble ensued inside an Israeli bank on Monday when an escaped rampaging bull charged down its corridors, causing workers to flee.
The unusual incident began in a car park outside the Bank Leumi building, near Tel Aviv, before the huge animal somehow found its way inside.
CCTV footage showed the bull - with rope trailing from its neck - barrelling down office corridors, as people made a desperate attempt to bring it under control.
The bank confirmed the incident in a statement, saying it took half an hour for the bull to be re-captured by its owner and taken away.
Video from the carpark - found in the industrial zone north of Lod, a region south-east of Tel Aviv - showed the muscled animal charging between vehicles and directly at onlookers, who ran for cover.
Before long, it made its way towards the building and through the front entrance, giving employees inside the building a shock
Footage from inside showed the animal skidding on the polished floor as it charged around corners, chasing people down corridors while looking for an exit.
Other people were seen trying to attract the bull's attention, perhaps in an effort to drive it out of the building.
Eventually, the bull's owner was tracked down and called to the scene. A vet was also called incase the animal needed to be tranquilised, according to newspaper Israel Hayom.
Employing the help of other people in the office building, the owner used ropes to set up a trap at the end of the corridor to catch the bull.
In more footage, one man was shown bravely attracting the bull's attention before sprinting down the corridor away from it - luring the creature into the rope.
For a few seconds in the footage, the bull appears to become suspicious of the ropes draped across the entranceway, but eventually walks through anyway.
The rope falls around its neck, and the man is able to pull it tight around the beast.
The footage ends as the bull runs away from the man, who quickly pursues it down another corridor.
'Early this morning, a bull entered one of Bank Leumi's office buildings in Lod. He was caught, and led outside the facility,' the bank said in a statement.
'Meanwhile, the incident was reported to local authorities and the municipal veterinary services. No one was injured and no damage was caused.'
It was not immediately clear how the ball escaped, or where it had come from.

Woman walking massive BEAST in viral video amazes viewers who debate whether it's a wolf or a dog
Woman walking massive BEAST in viral video amazes viewers who debate whether it's a wolf or a dog
Internet users were puzzled by viral footage of a woman walking her massive, mystery pet in the U.S., with some suggesting different dog breeds while others believe it is a wolf.
Footage of the creature was shared on video-blog website Worldstar on Monday, along with the caption: 'These People Couldn't Believe What This Woman Had On Her Leash "Is That A Wolf Or A Dog"'?
It's unclear where exactly the video was filmed, although a mother and her children can be heard arguing about what kind of animal the woman's pet is.
'That's big!' one of the kids is heard saying. 'Is that a wolf or a dog?' her mother asks her.
'That's a dog mom! I saw it come through!' the child responded.
As of Monday morning, the video of the mysterious creature has 103,586 views.
Several commenters pointed out the beast's resemblance to Irish Wolfhounds due to its shaggy gray hair and substantial presence.
'If it is a Irish Wolfhound then it has to be mixed or edited to look like a real wold because the snout looks nothing like an IW,' one person commented under the video.
Others joked the pet was a hyena or a werewolf while one user suggested a mix of two breeds.
That's a half Wolf, half German Shepherd. I own one myself. That's not even the biggest they get. I'm 6'6" and it can get it's paws up to my shoulders on its hind legs. But they are so sweet, wouldn't harm anyone,' the user wrote.
Another individual commented: 'She got Jon Snow's Dire wolf out there,' referring to Snow -one of six pups adopted and raised by the Game of Thrones character.
A different user wrote: 'That's the type of dog Vikings had on the ship.'

#BenAffleck Kisses the bride #JenniferLopez ahead of wedding
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have tied the knot in a breathtaking wedding ceremony on Saturday at his $8.9 million Georgia 'plantation' mansion surrounded by family, friends and A-List celebrities.
The celebrity couple known as 'Bennifer,' wowed the audience with Lopez wearing a stunning white, Ralph Lauren couture gown complete with long train and veil, while Affleck looked sharp in complementary white and black tuxedo.
Photographs shot from above showed the picture-perfect A-listers embracing one another through smiles at a waterside jetty, outside their enormous mansion, and while walking along a snowy white altar set up especially for the day.
Ben, 50, donned a smart white tuxedo jacket, black bow tie and black pants, and towered over his 53 year-old bride.
She appeared enthralled by the presence of her fourth husband, and their picture perfect surroundings. A fireworks display from a lake in the property was scheduled to conclude the evening, with Savannah trolley buses pictured entering the property to shuttle the couple's guests around.
The pair's happy reunion comes 20 years after they first dated and got engaged, only to call-off their wedding in fall 2003, blaming excessive media attention.
The couple was followed down the aisle after their nuptials by close friends and family, including their children from Jennifer's third husband Marc Anthony, as well as Affleck's first wife Jennifer Garner.
Joining Affleck were his three kids from his marriage to Jennifer Garner, Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Sam, 11. And standing by JLO were her twins, Emme and Max, 14, that she had with Marc Anthony.
Garner was notable for her absence, with Affleck's brother Casey also declining to attend after saying he had prior parental commitments in Los Angeles.

#Moscow car bomb kills #Putin's closest aide Alexander Dugin daughter
#Moscow car bomb kills #Putin's closest aide Alexander Dugin daughter
This is the moment Putin's aide Alexander Dugin watches the flaming wreckage of a car bomb meant for him that killed his daughter instead when the two switched vehicles last minute.
Dugin, a notorious fascist and Russian ultranationalist, is in hospital after being filmed at the scene of the explosion that killed his 35 year old daughter, Darya Dugina.
He was travelling on a highway near the village of Bolshiye Vyazyomy just outside the capital on Saturday night — but decided to travel in a different car to his daughter, avoiding death only by chance.
Vladimir Putin’s closest supporters have demanded vengeance on Ukraine over the ‘assassination’ of Dugina, daughter of the Russian leader’s spiritual guru, who died in his stead.
A distressing video from Baza media shows the bereft father - known as Putin’s ‘Rasputin’ - at the scene of the explosion.
The car is seen as a fireball as emergency services sirens wail. Reports said she died on the spot.
But her father - seen as the brains behind Putin’s interference in Ukraine from 2014 - was intended to be in the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado which was hit, but the former professor apparently switched cars at the last minute.
The explosion took place as Ms Dugina was returning from a cultural festival she had attended with her father.
Dugina was a political analyst and editor of pro-Putin journal United World International and a joint author of a book on Putin's war in Ukraine.
Her father is the author of an extreme rightwing view of Russia’s role in the world which held an appeal to Putin.
The pair were pictured together at a pro-Putin public event shortly before she was slain.
Andrey Krasnov, the head of the Russian Horizon social movement and a close friend of the dead woman, said: 'I knew Darya personally.
'This was the father’s vehicle. Darya… took his car today, while Alexander went in a different way. He returned, and he was at the site of the tragedy.
'As far as I understand, Alexander or probably both of them were the target.'
There is no direct evidence Ukraine or its agents were involved in the Moscow attack, but senior pro-Putin war supporters were quick to demand an all out attack on Kyiv over the alleged assassination.
Margarita Simonyan, head of RT ‘propaganda’ network, posted on Telegram: 'Decision-making centres! Decision-making centres!! Decision-making centres!!!'
Her call echoes a demand from hardliners loyal to Putin for him to wreak havoc with massive missile strikes on central Kyiv.
Propaganda journalist Maxim Kononenko messaged: 'The address of the main building of the SBU [Ukrainian secret services]: Volodymyrska 33, Kyiv. I'm going to try to sleep now, and when I wake up, I hope to read on the news that it was f****** bombed along with its basements.'
There were also warnings that other pro-Putin propagandists could be in danger.
Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR], a pro-Moscow puppet state in eastern Ukraine, posted: 'The terrorists of the Ukrainian regime, trying to eliminate Alexander Dugin blew up his daughter...in a car. Blessed memory of Daria, she is a real Russian girl.'
He directly blamed 'terrorists of the Ukrainian regime'.
Dugina was described as 'a young, smart, beautiful and incredibly talented and sympathetic woman'.
While he has no formal role in government, Dugin, a far-Right occult writer who used to edit the staunchly pro-Putin Tsargrad TV network, is regarded as the Russian warmonger's 'guru advisor' and reportedly exerts heavy influence over him.
He is credited with giving new life to the term Novorossiya (New Russia), which was adopted by Putin to justify his annexation of Crimea in 2014.
Dugin has long dreamed of an expansionist Russia, advocating for Russian rule 'from Dublin to Vladisvostok' in his 1997 book Foundations of Geopolitics. He once said not taking back control of Ukraine would be 'an enormous danger for all of Eurasia' - before he was sanctioned by the US in 2015 after allegedly recruiting fighters for Russia-backed forces in the country.
His daughter Darya was also sanctioned by the US Treasury after she became chief editor of the United World International (UWI) website - which was owned by Yevgeny Prigozhin, who is suspected of interfering in the 2016 election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
News of Alexander Dugin's attempted assassination comes after a kamikaze drone strike hit Russia's Navy headquarters in Crimea and sparked a huge explosion on Saturday, in another suspected Ukrainian raid.
Smoke was seen billowing through the air following the attack, which came despite frantic attempts from Putin's forces to shoot down the UAV, as seen in a video where repetitive gunfire is heard.
The naval HQ suffered a direct hit, said reports while terrified Russian tourists fled the popular summer peninsula.

Great white shark full documentary HD video
Off the coast of Baja, Mexico, a remote island serves as one of nature's dwindling sanctuaries to a fearsome ocean predator - the great white shark. In a race against time, eco-tourists and marine researchers have forged a unique alliance to gather scientific data in the hopes of protecting these animals from potential slaughter. This is a countdown, a countdown to survival at Isla Guadalupe - the ‘Island of the Great White Shark’.” With these opening words, RTSea's documentary, “Island of the Great White Shark”, begins the first comprehensive examination of Isla Guadalupe's magnificent great white sharks and the ongoing scientific research. Compelling concepts are brought together: the wide range of research techniques being employed, the kinds of data being gathered, the unusual working relationship between shark researchers and eco-tourism operations, and of course the sharks - both feared and misunderstood by the general public but highly vulnerable and threatened with possible extinction.

Incredible moment driver dives from truck as his truck fell off an overpass in Pasadena, Texas.
driver dives for safety as his 18-wheeler flips wet highway in Texas
A video captured in Pasadena, Texas documents the moment a driver leaps from a massive truck that is falling from a raised highway
The truck collided with another Budweiser truck as they were both hydroplaning, forcing it to catch the highway's barrier and flip
While its unclear whether the driver purposefully leapt or happened to be ejected, he escaped the incident with only minor injuries
A terrified truck driver traveling on a a wet highway managed to leap out of his upside-down vehicle moments before it toppled over and fell off an overpass in Pasadena, Texas.
Horrifying footage shows the driver's truck buckle and fall from the side of the road after it collided with another vehicle on August 18, but luckily no major injuries occurred from the incident according to authorities.
The doomed truck was operated by Specialized Maintenance Services Inc. and was hydroplaning when it clipped the front of a Budweiser truck.
The official indicated it was unclear whether the driver purposefully leaped from the truck or was ejected from the cabin as the truck began rolling.
The video happed to be captured by driver Prisco Saldivar on a dash-cam as he drove on the opposite side of State Highway 225.
'It was like something you would only ever see in a movie,' Saldivar said.
The first glimpse of the truck in the video shows it nearly flipped completely upside-down while still skidding down the highway.
The truck then catches the side of the raised highway's barrier, which drags the massive rig over the side.
As the truck begins to fall off the edge and disappear from view, the driver courageously leaps from the drivers seat and lands on the highway.
The vehicle falls from the edge and onto a service road below, and video captured from that road shows the truck lying totaled on its side.
Police vehicles are shown surrounding the total truck as hail continues to fall.
The crash comes after a similar incident took the life of a 22-month old boy, who was crushed after a concrete-mixer truck fell from a highway and landed on an SUV below.
That tragic crash occurred on August 5 on the East Beltway in Texas. Three others survived the crash, including the deceased boy's twin sister.
