Hi, My name is Jilly. I had amazing Grandparents who tried to teach what they learned and what was important to them. I don't remember much of it anymore. How I wish I had paid more attention as a child. They shared Stories of the depression, how they farmed and canned and made do. Gardening tips, money management, politics, recipes, church, the list is endless. My daughter and granddaughters probably won't remember what I say either, so I made this channel to document the wisdom of generations past that is being overwhelmed by our modern society. Talking is how we keep our traditions alive, and to keep realty from succumbing to the media domination of asking others for help, rather than having a sense of self sufficiency and community. Everyone should be more givers to the community than takers from the community. How can I be more self reliant so others can rely on me more? If everyone works together, we will have a much better community for it. I will be talking about anything that catches my fancy, and boy is there tons to talk about right now! Summer is winding down, but my garden is going strong.

Between the rain and being to busy to mow, my yard looks pretty amazing!

They probably think the same way you do! - Get involved in town politics - Go to town meetings - Join your local Republican (or Democrat) town committee - Go to fundraisers - Go to meet and greets - Volunteer for fundraisers. Join a committee, help set up and breakdown events etc. - Go to all the debates and forums - Knock on doors and talk to people (easier in groups) - drop off flyers - make phone calls - wave signs - put a sign on your lawn - address mailers - ask you candidates what they need Kick butt and help change the world!

The first electric vehicle was built by Robert Anderson from Scotland around 1832. Things have come a long way since then!

On July 26, 2023 Connecticut became the latest state to announce it will require all new car sales to be zero-emission vehicles in 2035 and beyond. We will be joined by California, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Washington. I drive an electric car as my primary vehicle, so here is my take without diving in too deep. Politics aside, there are many cons to driving electric vehicles.

I hear talk about more lock downs and mask mandates coming this fall. We cannot do this anymore, we need to take control back and be responsible for our own health. Please let me know if you agree with me and spread the word.

In the 80’s when I first became aware of politics, you could talk to anyone no matter what side you were on. What happened?

It feels good learning to be self sufficient! I just learned how to split wood a few months ago, there is definitely a learning curve for little old ladies 🤣 Last year we installed a wood stove and bought firewood. This year we are cutting our own from all the deadfall in the woods around our house. With all the craziness going on in our country, I am love knowing we will be warm this winter and don't have to rely on anyone but ourselves.
