Seventy-two percent agreed that “it is important for our democracy that the news media act as a watchdog on government,” and 48% agreed with the statement that the news media, “tries to report the news accurately and without bias.” Not surprisingly, the reactions to the latter statement differ wildly between the two largest political parties, with 39% of Republicans agreeing compared with 56% of Democrats. OSHA is mandating that all businesses with 100 employees or more institute either a vaccine or a mask & test policy, while HHS is mandating that all providers who receive Medicaid or Medicare funds must have an employee vaccination requirement. As the number of injunctions against the various Biden vaccine mandates continues to grow, Americans seem to be missing a very important point. Our governments in Washington, DC, statehouses, and city halls are run more like kingdoms and oligarchies rather than constitutional republics. Sure, courts here and there may enjoin or even decide these mandates are unconstitutional, but that is only after that abuse has taken place. The recent case of Texas v. Becerra is just another example. Like most Americans, I think operating a two-ton machine while impaired is dangerous and irresponsible. Does that mean it’s within the power of the federal government to impose their opinion of how best to deal with this problem on the American people? It’s not a question of whether the technology is good or bad or even if this is a viable method of reducing drunk driving. Instead, it’s a question of whether the federal government has the legitimate power to do so. The argument of Congress that this must be done to keep people safe, is just another tyrannical attempt to punish the innocent for the crimes of the guilty.
