Ramen Chronicles: Part - 6
Here is Part 6 of the Ramen Chronicles. My boys and I, with the help of my buddy Matt, from Jerking The Trigger, and his girls, finish out what is left in our box of ramen that Harold sent us.
*It was also my 1st chance to check out the Terava Jaakaripuukko*
We end with some Indian Ramen as well as coming full circle with the last pack of Japanese Myojo Chucazanmai. I'd have to say, hands down that Japanese Ramen is my favorite. None of them have been bad, and frankly the spicy ones are appreciated on cold days. But nothing has beaten the Myojo Chukazanmai.
And more to the point, nothing has beaten ANY ramen shared out of doors with friends and family. It is always a fun adventure.

Ramen Chronicles: Part - 5
Here is Part 5 of our Ramen Chronicles. As my boys have worked our way through or giant box of ramen, sent out to us by Harold, we have gotten to this brand of Chinese Ramen. Suffice to say, my son and I can't make out the name of it. :)
I did like however that it came with an oil pack. While the flavor wasn't that strong, it made for some nice broth on a wet rainy day.

Brownell's Retro M16E1 & Chase Tactical LVPC: 1st Look
Welcome to 1964…
I recently got in a Brownell's Retro Rifle, their M16E1 Clone. This is the first time I got a chance to take it out to the range. I will say, it is a lot of fun, complete with 20 round magazines!
I initially shot the Runenation Cold Start with it, right out of the box. Didn't quite make the par time… After that though, I got it zeroed with some Minuteman Munitions 55gr, had a little fun at 50 yards and then took it out to 200 yards on a B/C Reduced Steel Silhouette by TA Targets. I'm looking forward to spending more time with this rifle.
Also new in is the Chase Tactical LVPC (Low-Visibility Plate Carrier) with lvl 4 standalone plates. Some solid features and well thought out designs on it as well.
As I put in more time with both of them, I'll bring you full reviews.

Fix It Sticks: The Right Tool For The Job
You can find them here: https://amzn.to/41tTftm
I'll go ahead and say it, Fix-It-Sticks are amazing. Once you have used them, you wonder how you got by all these years without them. They are literally the right tool for the job…
So what are they? They are a compact handy tool kit that comes with a T-Handle driver and an assortment of bits. But the magic is not only the bits they come with, but also the assortment of specialty gun tools you can get as well as my favorite, torque limiters.
When you are mounting a scope, or tightening down action screws on a rifle, or pretty much anything involving firearms, Torque matters. The Torque Limiters that come with the Fix It Sticks are amazing. Giving you consistent torque all the time.
They can be a life saver in the field or out on a hunt. You can find them at Brownells too: https://www.avantlink.com/click.php?tt=cl&merchant_id=855e0b56-67a2-40d0-aa2b-a0764ca94489&website_id=cf2a4625-364f-4607-94e0-2422d747ca79&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.brownells.com%2Ftools-cleaning%2Fgeneral-gunsmith-tools%2Fwrenches%2Fthe-works%2F

*Extended Cut* Jattas 1st Hunt: Rabbit - 2019
There are some things people will always remember, one such occurrence is your 1st time hunting and taking game. Or even as a father, the 1st time your child is successful on a hunt. I'm incredibly fortunate to have caught some of the experience on video.
My oldest son Jatta, recently wanted to go hunting with his Savage Rascal .22 Rifle. He had demonstrated his ability with it to where I felt it was ethical for him to hunt, i.e. his ability to place shots where he was intending so that he wouldn't wound an animal. And sure enough, here we are, with rabbit for dinner. I couldn't be prouder of him.
This is the Extended Cut. I captured the skinning and gutting process on film. More importantly though, it captured the conversation with my children and I about ethics and hunting. Kids are capable of far more depth and understanding than they are often given credit for…

In July of 2019 I was invited on a hike. Not really a backpacking trip, more of a training evolution. Bill Rapier, of AMTAC Shooting, was training up for the Sniper Adventure Challenge and this was one of his training hikes. All said and done it turned into just shy of 30 miles in about 26 hours. It was an adventure. Below is my loadout and a complete list of links to my gear:

30 Mile Hike: July 2019
Another Adventure in the books… This video is a rundown of the 30 Mile Hike / Backpacking Trip / Forced March / Training Evolution I did with Bill Rapier of AMTAC Shooting and another friend of ours. It was a smoker, but a good challenge all the same. And sometimes that is what you need, and adventure to push you physically to see where you are at…

Sig P365 XL and Sentry Strap: 1st Look
You can find links here: https://kitbadger.com/sig-p365-xl-and-sentry-strap-1st-look/
Sometimes it is like Christmas when packages arrive… Today I open up and take a 1st Look at a number of new products.
First up is the Sentry Strap. It is a easy to use sling storage solution from the guys over at NeoMag. It can be easily attached to most any rifle hand guard. Then it is just a matter of folding the sling back onto itself and securing it with the elastic strap which uses two rare-earth magnets to stay closed. While it is strong enough to keep the sling in place, it is easy to overcome when you want to remove your sling. Perfect for transporting or storing rifles.
I also finally get my hands on a Sig Sauer P365 XL. It looks similar to the Sig P365, except the grip is slightly longer and the barrel and slide are a little longer as well, giving the shooter a little longer sight radius.
Of course, every pistol needs a holster. Black Point Tactical sent out a few for the Sig P365 XL, a AIWB (Appendix In the Waist Band) as well as a Strong Side holster.
To give it all a try, I did the Runenation Cold Start Drill right out of the box. Not my best work, but it wasn't the pistols fault. I also did some shooting with the pistol and a Springfield Armory Saint Victor on my TA Targets AR 550 Reduced Silhouette Target System. Always a good time at the range.
And lastly, I received a pretty awesome new knife from a friend of the channel. A Buck 842 Sprint Ops Pro Knife. A pretty sweet EDC (Every Day Carry) knife with a S30V blade.
As I get more time I'll be bringing you full reviews.

Sig P320 X5 Legion & TA Targets Arachnid Base: 1st Look
You can find links here: https://kitbadger.com/sig-p320-x5-legion-ta-targets-arachnid-base-1st-look/
It is time for a first look at some new goodness. First up I have the new Sig Sauer P320 X5 Legion. It is similar to their X5 with a few notable upgrades (depending on use case). Most notable is the frame. They have come up with a way to make polymer frames heavy. Through a proprietary process they've added powdered tungsten to the frame. This in turn adds weight to help soak up recoil. Obviously not a huge bonus as a duty gun (the extra weight) but I'm sure will be well received in the competitive world.
I stab at the Baer Solutions Cold Start, using with my Squared Away Customs holster.
I also had a chance to do some shooting with the new Arachnid Base from TA Targets. The Arachnid base brings you everything you need in a target stand, neatly wrapped in a small little package. It can collapse down for transport or storage. Then when you get to the range, it is easy to set up and has the option of using a 2x4 for steel targets, or target sticks for shooting paper. Pretty clever design.
As I get more time with all of this I'll bring you full reviews.
Find the new Sig P320 X5 Legion here.
The TA Targets Arachnid Base can be found here. Use code "Kitbadger" to save 10%.

Building the Side Chick by Q
There are a looooot of Remington 700 rifles out there. How can you breathe some life into a old rifle? With a new Side Chick from Q.
The Side Chick was designed by Q LLC to offer the shooter as many of the external features of the Fix Rifle as possible, while still using a Remington 700. From the AR style ergonomics, folding stock, adjustable length of pull and cheek piece, detachable AI pattern magazines, full length hand guard and all of it wrapped up in a light weight package.
In this video Mitch, the lead engineer of the Side Chick, walks me through building a Side Chick Chassis and dropping my Remington 700 into it.
I'll be following up this with more content on the Side Chick in the near future. Stay tuned.
You can find the Q Side Chick here.

Q's Side Chick Chassis & a used Remington 700: A Second Chance Part - 2
If you missed Part 1, Mitch and I found a used Remington 700 in a gun shop for $399. After shooting some groups with it, we dropped it into the new Side Chick Chassis by Q LLC. Immediately the groups tightened up. But, when you shoot suppressed, you get spoiled, and we had the tools…
In Part 2, Mitch disassembles the rifle to chop about 6" off the end of the barrel. After that he threads and tapers the barrel. From there, it is back out to the range for some much more enjoyable shooting.
The Side Chick by Q can really turn a old rifle around, especially with a little follow up machine work…

1st Look: ADM UIC-10A Rifle & Bushnell Forge 3-18
In this video I take a first look at a new rifle I received form American Defense Manufacturing (ADM), the Universal Improved Carbine (UIC) 10A Battle Rifle. Along with the Bushnell 3-18 Rifle Scope with the Mil-Deploy Reticle from their Forge Line.
After putting the UIC-10A together I proceed to get it on paper using the Atibal X 1-10 LPVO (Low Power Variable Optic) while shooting some Federal Gold Medal .308 ammo. After shooting a group I did a little shooting from unconventional shooting positions around my vehicle. It was dusty...
I will eventually mount up the Bushnell Forge 3-18 and run it on a few platforms. This rifle for one, to get some good groups while ringing this rifle out, and also probably on the Remington 700 that I just dropped into the Side Chick Chassis by Q.

Q's Side Chick Chassis & a used Remington 700: A Second Chance - Part 1
Some things deserve a second chance, such as all the old Remington 700 rifles in the back of closets and gun safes, collecting dust…
The Side Chick Chassis by Q LLC does just that. It takes a lot of the external design features of The Fix Rifle by Q, and incorporates them into a incredibly lightweight and feature rich chassis. Giving you a full length hand guard, folding stock, adjustable length of pull and cheek piece, AR grip, as well as AI Pattern removable magazines.
To illustrate how much the Side Chick improves a Remington 700, Mitch and I bought a used .308 off the shelf at a gun store, Renaissance Firearms, and proceeded to shoot some test groups with it. After which we swapped it out into the Side Chick Chassis and re-shot those test groups. There was a marked improvement on our groups, not to mention the comfort in shooting the rifle with improved ergonomics.
You can find the Q Side Chick here.

Battle of the Bills
You can find links here: https://kitbadger.com/battle-of-the-bills/
It isn't every day you get invited to take part in this much awesomeness… …The Battle of the Bills.
Surefire put on an amazing training event that I had the good fortune of attending. 3 days with a number of other content creators and two amazing instructors. Bill Blowers of Tap Rack Tactical and Bill Rapier of AMTAC Shooting.
Over those three days we spent hours on the range, in the mat room and in the shoot house. Training everything from combatives with knives to clearing corners with weapon mounted lights. It was rad.
It was made possible through not only Surefire, who organized and put the entire event together, but also Bravo Company USA, First Spear, Oak Grove Technologies, Oakley, Unity Tactical, Bravo Co., Magpul, PHLSTER, Monster Energy Drinks and Frank Proctor Performance Gear.
Thanks to all those companies, the Bills, and everyone else that had a hand in that rad event.

Trooper Chronicles
Welcome to Part -1 of the Trooper Chronicles. I've been driving this 1989 Isuzu Trooper for awhile now. It is a great little vehicle with about 200,000+ miles on it. I've definitely had some adventures with it and a few close calls. One ended with a pretty dicey situation, sliding off a iced over logging road backwards. That misadventure left me with a blown out back window and unusable back door.
I've decided to start modifying my Trooper into a awesome adventure rig (not that it wasn't already). So to that end, here we are with Part - 1. It begins…

Shooting Through Automotive Glass: G9 Bullets & Asym Precision
It is time for a little shade tree science… Recently I decided to do some permanent modifications to my 1989 Trooper. And since I wasn't going to be needing my back windows, I figured I would do a little exploratory learning.
Shooting through automotive glass isn't something most people get to practice very often. It creates a huge variable as well, such as where will the bullet go and will the bullet stay together. With this in mind, I shot a number of rounds at extreme angles through the back windows of my vehicle, from both the driver's seat and passengers seat. I used my Heckler & Koch P7M8 9mm, firing both the G9 Bullets External Hollow Point and the Asym Precision Defensive load with a Barnes 115gr hollow point. Both bullets are constructed of solid copper.
Here are my results…
