Sizzle Season 2023 has arrived in Splatoon 3, and with it comes a brand-new mode known as Challenge Mode, where battles under special conditions take place at specific times. Next is the Extreme Jump Battle challenge, which is a Tower Control challenge on Um'ami Ruins and Museum d'Alfonsino. The gimmick here is greatly enhanced jumping power allowing you access to areas that were normally inaccessible. As we emerge from the Dark Player Cave onto the summit of Battle Mountain, we now gain access to the ultimate item shop as well as the ultimate challenges this game has to offer! On the left side is the 38-wave Foe Rush and the Endless Battle, and on the right side is four Boss Rushes: one for the minibosses and optional bosses, one for the main game bosses, one for the upgraded superbosses, and one for the Dark Players. Since Matt's best sword is unlocked by beating all of the Boss Rushes, let's do that first! Next up is the Upgraded Superboss Rush! A classic Splatfest theme returns to Splatoon 3 with an additional third option! Japan in Splatoon 1 and North America in Splatoon 2 were asked which is more important in life: Love or Money? Now the whole world gets in on the action with a new challenger: Fame! Though Love can make your life happier, the first real step toward living happy is...well, living. And you need Money to live, for food and shelter. Without that, you can't live and therefore you can't live happy. There's a line from Scarface that describes this Splatfest perfectly. "First you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women." So I have decided to represent Team Money. I can understand Team Love having trouble finding a legit Tricolor match because of how popular they are, but Team Fame must be REALLY unpopular if there are not enough of them for even Team Money to find a match. Most of my Tricolor matches were mirror matches this time around, and I think I only got about 5 legit matches against Fame and Love all night. Unfortunately, @GamesPerJustin couldn't join us this time due to sickness. Sizzle Season 2023 has arrived in Splatoon 3, and with it comes a brand-new mode known as Challenge Mode, where battles under special conditions take place at specific times. The first week of August repeated three previous challenges: Too Many Trizookas, Sheldon Sampler, and Foggy Notion. So this is my fourth try at the Foggy Notion challenge, which is a Turf War challenge on Hammerhead Bridge and Eeltail Alley. As we continue our ascent up Battle Mountain, the way to the central cave above where we fought Rainbow Rafflesia is now open! Inside this cave lie four more Superbosses and four of the hardest bosses in the entire game! Say hello to the Dark Players! Last on our list is Dark Lance, a zombie soldier who is, in my opinion, the second hardest of the Dark Players. All of his shooting attacks have a chance to inflict Instant Death upon your party members, so high resistance to that is mandatory. With that, defense buffs can easily mitigate the damage without worry of being dispelled which makes this guy easier to deal with than Dark Matt in that regard. What makes Dark Lance difficult is his Lock On buff, which maxes out his Attack, Magic Attack, Accuracy, and Evasion, combined with his 70% resistance to Dispel. Thankfully he doesn't buff his Defender minions with him, which is another way this fight is slightly less hard than Dark Matt. Level 5 of Base Ganymede episode 2 gives us all of our weapons back after the Tyson punch-fest that was the previous map, but balances it out by throwing many tough enemies at you at once, including a Cyberdemon fight! There is also a choice to be made at the end of this map, because you can't get both 100% kills and the secret exit in the same run. The last 6 enemies all guard the pit where the normal exit is, and if you jump down there, you can't get back up. So the most kills you can get with the secret exit is 97% (199/205).
