Chicago Bears Overreaction Monday: Bench Justin Fields? Sign Or Trade For A WR?
Chicago Bears Rumors & Overreactions are HOT on Monday after the Bears narrowly escaped the Texans with a 23-20 win in NFL Week 3. Chicago is 2-1 for the 2022 NFL Season, but Bears fans are freaking out about Justin Fields as he continues to struggle. Fields threw for just 106 yards and 2 interceptions in the Chicago Bears win and some Bears media and fans are calling for him to be benched. DaBearsBlog says Bears head coach Matt Eberflus should bench Justin Fields for his own good. Do you agree? Should Fields be benched for backup QB Trevor Siemian? Bears Overreaction Monday is underway with the latest Chicago Bears news & rumors.
Bears QB Justin Fields accepted blame for his struggles on Sunday after the win over the Texans. Fields said “I just played like trash. Played terrible. Really, just have to be better. I'm about to go to the film. I played terrible. I'm going to the film and see what I could've done better and get better for my teammates. I got to be better for my team.” He also was seen working out late last night after the game and said he planned to watch Bears vs. Texans game film right away. Can Fields be the Bears franchise QB? Bears’ offensive coordinator Luke Getsy needs to get on the same page with Fields as this partnership is critical for the Chicago Bears franchise moving forward.

Bears Trade Rumors & NFL Free Agency Rumors are gaining steam again after WR Byron Pringle’s injury. Pringle left yesterday’s game with a calf injury and was seen leaving Soldier Field with a boot on his foot. Should the Bears sign or trade for a WR? The free agent WR market has dried up a bit, but guys like Will Fuller, T.Y. Hilton and Odell Beckham Jr. are still out there. Could Bears GM Ryan Poles pull off a trade for a wide receiver? Tyler Lockett and Robby Anderson have been linked to NFL trade rumors, but those have dried down. Lesser names like Darius Slayton, KJ Hamler and Denzel Mims could be on the NFL trade block. With Pringle, Velus Jones Jr. and N’Keal Harry injured + Darnell Mooney struggling, the Bears need help at WR in a major way to help the struggling Justin Fields.

Bears vs. Texans Injury News On Jaylon Johnson, Roquan Smith, Velus Jones & Matt Adams
The Chicago Bears Injury Report for Friday is out and two key players are listed as questionable for Bears vs. Texans in NFL Week 3: CB Jaylon Johnson and LB Roquan Smith. Johnson and Smith are two critical components to the Bears defense and if they can’t play, Chicago will have a tougher time in stopping the Texans’ offense. LB Matt Adams, TE Ryan Griffin and DB Dane Cruikshank have already been ruled OUT vs. Houston. WR Velus Jones Jr. is doubtful as he continues to rehab a hamstring injury. Bears Now host Harrison Graham brings you today’s Chicago Bears injury news.
Follow Chicago Bears Now on Rumble: http://rumble.com/bearsnow
Jaylon Johnson and Roquan Smith did not practice on Friday and are officially questionable for Sunday against the Texans. With LB Matt Adams not playing and Roquan’s status up in the air, look for UDFA rookie LB Jack Sanborn to play some snaps this week. Rookie CB Kyler Gordon will need to step up regardless if Johnson plays or not. Bears head coach Matt Eberflus says that Johnson and Adams both got injured at practice this week.
Chicago Bears Injury Report:
- LB Roquan Smith (Hip, Questionable)
- CB Jaylon Johnson (Quad, Questionable)
- WR Velus Jones Jr. (Hamstring, Doubtful)
- TE Ryan Griffin (Achilles, OUT)
- DB Dane Cruikshank (Hamstring, OUT)
- LB Matt Adams (Hamstring, OUT)

Chicago Bears Injury News: Jaylon Johnson Added To Injury Report + Trade Michael Schofield?
The latest Chicago Bears Injury Report has dropped for Thursday, September 22nd before NFL Week 3 - Bears vs. Texans. CB Jaylon Johnson and LB Matthew Adams are new additions to the Bears Injury Report, which includes 6 players:
- WR Velus Jones Jr. (Hamstring, Limited)
- CB Jaylon Johnson (Quad, Limited)
- LB Roquan Smith (Hip, DNP)
- LB Matthew Adams (Hamstring, DNP)
- TE Ryan Griffin (Achilles, DNP)
- S Dane Cruikshank (Hamstring, DNP)
Velus Jones Jr. injury news could be trending up as the rookie WR was elevated to a limited participant at today’s Chicago Bears practice. Jaylon Johnson was also limited today as he’s dealing with a quad injury. The Bears defense desperately need Johnson to play as rookie CB Kyler Gordon and Kindle Vildor have both really struggled in the Bears secondary. Roquan Smith missed practice for a 2nd straight day with a hip injury. Bears’ defensive coordinator Alan Williams says he expects Smith to play on Sunday.
Chicago Bears’ offensive coordinator Luke Getsy defended the Bears 4th & Goal play-call inside the 1-yard line against the Packers when QB Justin Fields was ruled short on a QB power from the shotgun. Getsy says the Bears “love that play” but that they simply didn’t execute. Getsy also acknowledged the Bears’ 11 pass attempts last Sunday, but pointed to the fact that Chicago only had 41 offensive plays in total.
Bears Trade Rumors are heating up as OL Michael Schofield has been linked to the Cincinnati Bengals by Bleacher Report. B/R proposed the Bears trading Schofield to the Bengals for a 2023 6th round pick. This would be a steal for Bears’ GM Ryan Poles considering Schofield was initially released by the Bears on final NFL roster cuts day. Chicago re-signed Schofield last week, so trading him for anything would be impressive.

Chicago Bears Trade Rumors: Trade For Kenny Golladay? Robert Quinn Getting Dealt?
Chicago Bears trade rumors are heating up just 2 weeks into the 2022 NFL Season. Chicago native and current Giants’ WR Kenny Golladay could be on the NFL trade block after playing just 2 snaps last week. The Bears tried to sign Golladay during 2021 NFL Free Agency, but he opted to sign with New York. Could new Bears’ GM Ryan Poles trade for Golladay? Golladay has 3 years and over $60 million left on his contract. Bears Now host Harrison Graham says the Giants would need to absorb most of Golladay’s contract for the Bears to trade for him.
Robert Quinn trade rumors are back as Bleacher Report listed him as the #1 NFL Trade Candidate. The 2022 NFL Trade Deadline is on November 1st. Quinn has 1 sack through 2 games this season and will definitely draw interest as a potential Bears trade target. Will Ryan Poles trade Quinn? In today’s Bears News, OL Lucas Patrick was seen practicing at center without a cast on Wednesday. Will Patrick start at center against the Texans this week? Ideally Patrick starts at center for Sam Mustipher and Teven Jenkins is the full-time starting RG.

Chicago Bears Overreaction Monday After Loss vs. Packers
Chicago Bears overreactions come following the Bears 27-10 loss to the Packers on Sunday Night Football. Should Bears fans be concerned about QB Justin Fields? Fields went just 7-of-11 for 70 yards and an interception in the Bears loss. Fields did rush for a TD, but the lack of passing attempts and production is a major concern. Maybe some of that blame should fall on Bears Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy. Bears Now host Harrison Graham has today’s Chicago Bears news & rumors on NFL Overreaction Monday after Week 2.
Luke Getsy is under fire this morning as the local and national media are questioning some of his playcalling decisions. After the Bears scored an opening drive TD against the Packers to take a 7-3 lead, Chicago failed to get a first down on the next 5 drives, including 4 straight 3-and-outs. RB David Montgomery only had 1 carry on those possessions and Justin Fields was unable to find a rhythm. Should Getsy be on the hot seat after last night’s performance? Getsy could help himself out by getting WR Darnell Mooney and TE Cole Kmet more involved. The pair of 3rd-year players have combined for 2 receptions for 4 yards through two games. Kmet has zero catches on just 2 targets. The Bears offense must improve in NFL Week 3 against the Texans.

Bears vs. Packers Injury Updates Ft. Velus Jones Jr., David Bakhtiari & Allen Lazard
Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers injury news has dropped for Friday, September 16th, just 2 days before Sunday Night Football. Bears’ WR Velus Jones Jr. is listed as doubtful after missing practice for the 2nd straight day with a lingering hamstring injury. Should Bears fans be concerned about Velus Jones at this point? Jones missed most of training camp and played in just one NFL Preseason game and since then he’s had 2 limited practices or hasn’t been able to practice at all. Friday’s Bears Injury Report features just Velus Jones Jr. as both OL Riley Reiff and FB Khari Blasingame were full participants at practice today. Packers OL David Bakhtiari and WR Allen Lazard were limited participants today. The Packers Injury Report listed offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins as a full participant and Jon Runyan as limited at today’s practice. Bakhtiari, Jenkins, Runyan and Lazard are all officially “questionable” for Bears vs. Packers on Sunday night.
ESPN NFL Analyst Bart Scott ripped Justin Fields on Mike Greenberg’s show ‘Greeny’ by saying Fields is “not a sophisticated passer” and that the Bears have no chance of winning at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football this week. The national media continues to go after the Bears despite beating the 49ers in Week 1 at Soldier Field.

Chicago Beas News: Bears vs. Packers Injury Updates On Velus Jones Jr. & David Bakhtiari
The Chicago Bears Injury Report is in for Thursday, September 15th, 2022 as Bears vs. Packers is just 3 days from now on Sunday Night Football. WR Velus Jones Jr. did not practice after being limited yesterday with a hamstring injury. OL Riley Reiff was a full participant. FB Khari Blasingame missed practice with a personal issue. The Packers injury report is much larger with OL David Bakhtiari not practicing with a knee injury. His status for Sunday is definitely in doubt. WR Allen Lazard & OL Elgton Jenkins were also limited. Bears Now host Harrison Graham brings you today’s Chicago Bears news & rumors leading up to NFL Week 2.
Bears News Today includes Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers hyping up Bears LB Roquan Smith. Rodgers says smith can “do it all” and that he “wouldn’t have minded if he'd gotten traded during training camp.” Roquan paid respect to Rodgers earlier in the week, but the Bears focus is on reversing the trend in this NFC North rivalry. Chicago is 5-24 against Aaron Rodgers since he’s been the Packers quarterback and the Bears have lost 11 of the past 12 matchups. Bears’ defensive coordinator Alan Williams says the message to the team has been to not buy into the narrative that things are “doom and gloom” heading into Lambeau Field. Harrison Graham believes this 2022 Bears team can handle the pressure and Bears’ OC Luke Getsy showed that as he talked about how calm Bears’ QB Justin Fields was during the poor weather conditions against the 49ers in Week 1.

Leatherwood will miss the next 4 weeks with the illness, but Eberflus says “we feel great about where he is and him coming back” at some point during the 2022 NFL Season.
Today’s Chicago Bears Injury Report has dropped following Bears practice at Halas Hall. WR Velus Jones Jr., who missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury, was limited at practice today. OL Riley Reiff also appeared on the injury report as he was also limited with a shoulder injury. For the Packers, OL David Bakhtiari & Elgton Jenkins practiced after missing last week’s games. WR Allen Lazard also returned to practice. Both the Bears and Packers could be close to full strength for this NFL Week 2 Sunday Night Football game.

Roquan Smith (on Aaron Rodgers):
The guy is one of the greatest to ever play the game, and as a competitor myself, I love going against people like that. 'm sure he'll be a little bit angry after this last game. Hey, you wouldn't want it any other way -- get the best version of him, then we get the dub, and it will be even sweeter.

Bears’ CB Jaylon Johnson called out 49ers QB Trey Lance following Chicago’s Week 1 win over San Francisco. Johnson was asked about how Lance played and Johnson responded by saying, “what you think he did? He ain’t do shit. We made him play quarterback.” Johnson added that Lance will be a good player down the road, but that forcing him to play QB was the key over letting him run loose. The Bears defense limited Lance to 13-of-28 passing for 164 yards and 1 INT. Justin Fields outplayed Lance in the 2nd half of the Bears win.

Bears rumors are heating up after this win as fans are wondering if the Chicago Bears are for real this year. Has the Bears fan base bought into Justin Fields as the franchise QB? Justin Fields had a big 2nd half in the Bears comeback win over the 49ers in NFL Week 1. Fields completed 5-of-8 passes after halftime for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. He tossed TDs to Dante Pettis and Equanimeous St. Brown and stayed poised during a torrential downpour at Soldier Field. Bears Week 1 winners & losers are mostly positives.
