Turkish Army Soldiers Deliver Aid To Victims
Turkish Army soldiers continue to deliver humanitarian aid to citizens living in the earthquake-affected regions of the country.
In this footage obtained by Newsflash from the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, members of the army can be seen handing out relief supplies to citizens who have been made homeless by the quake.
Dozens of packages are being handed out and spread among the citizens staying in temporary evacuation centres.
Some of the elders can be seen thanking the servicemen.
Soldiers also gave out some snacks and sweets to the children to slightly improve their day.
One serviceman can be seen rolling out a carpet and placing it on the ground inside one of the tents, presumably to ease the evacuees' fight against the cold.
The Ministry said in a short statement obtained by Newsflash: "Mehmetcik [term which affectionately refers to soldiers of the Turkish Army] continues to deliver aid sent by our nation to our citizens."

Victim Of Armed Robbery Turns Out To Be Criminal Mastermind
This is the moment two robbers used teargas to attack a clerk at a parcel delivery service who is really the mastermind behind the raid.
The three reportedly came up with the idea for the scheme which involved the 22-year-old employee of the firm being fake-attacked with tear gas, before returning to surrender and allowing the other two to make away with stolen cash.
CCTV footage from the delivery service in Noginsk, Russia, shows the moment two masked individuals pretending to be robbers armed with a gas canister as they enter the business while the one working behind the counter gets down and hides.
One of the purported thieves sprays the employee while the other picks up a box reportedly containing RUB 140,000 (GBP 1,560) before the two masked 'burglars' flee.
But a police investigation soon found that the seemingly assaulted employee was behind it all.
The head of the press service of Russia's Main Directorate of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region, Tatyana Petrova, said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: "During the course of the investigation into the circumstances of the occurrence, the operatives discovered that the employee was the mastermind behind the heist.
"He informed his friends about the existence of a significant sum of money at the cargo delivery service's office and declared that now is the time to commit theft.
"They intended to split the money and spend it on personal expenses."
The police reportedly apprehended two accomplices in the robbery, aged 17 and 22, from the Moscow region.
During a personal search, one of them was discovered to be in possession of stolen money as well as a gas canister used in the execution of a criminal act, which was confiscated.

Florida Smuggler Repeatedly Avoids Tyre Deflation Devices In High-Speed Chase
This dramatic footage shows a human smuggler driving at over 100mph on the wrong side of the road in a bid to escape from Texas police.
The footage that included the driver heading into oncoming traffic was recorded at the US southern border with Mexico on 7th February.
The video was obtained by Newsflash from Texas Department of Public Safety and spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez said the vehicle had been spotted trying to evade cops in Val Verde County.
It shows how the driver seven times managed to drive around tyre deflation devices in order to carry on trying to escape.
At the end of the footage, the driver, reportedly from Florida, drove off the road and tried to escape on foot, leaving the four illegal immigrants in the vehicle behind.
Texas Department of Public Safety said in a statement also obtained by Newsflash on Thursday, 15th February: "A human smuggler from Florida led DPS Troopers on a high-speed vehicle pursuit in Val Verde County.
"The driver eventually bailed out and ran toward the brush. Four illegal immigrants were found inside the vehicle.
"The driver was eventually found, arrested and charged with human smuggling and evading arrest."
The nationality of the immigrants was not revealed and after questioning, they were handed over to the Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents.

Seven Illegal Immigrants Leap Out Of Car Driven By Teenage Boy Who Led Cops On Hot-Pursuit
This is the moment a mass of people leap out of a 15-year-old human trafficker's car and dash in all directions as police give chase.
The incident with the baby driver from Mexico happened following a high-speed chase in the city of Mission in Texas, with a total of seven fully grown men jumping out of the car and dashing off when it finally came to a stop.
The dramatic video, obtained by Newslfash, shows the police chasing the teenager who refuses to stop, and the baby driver eventually heads off down a dirt track just a mile from the U.S.-Mexico border.
Realising, however, that the game is up, he slams on the brakes and the seven migrants dash off into the woods.
Texas Department of Public Safety said in a statement also obtained by Newslfash on Wednesday, 15th February: "Seven illegal immigrants were referred to Border Patrol after a high-speed pursuit in Hidalgo County. The pursuit took place on US-83.
"The driver, a 15-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, went through a dirt road before bailing out.
"They were eventually arrested and charged with human smuggling and evading arrest.
Despite the high-speed pursuit and then running for it, all seven of the migrants were later arrested after being chased on foot.
The teenage driver was also arrested and charged with smuggling and was placed in juvenile detention.
The use of a minor driver is part of a growing strategy by criminal gangs to use children because the punishments are not so harsh when arrested, according to local media.
Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Christopher Olivarez said many of the children are recruited via social media.
He added: "We continue to see an uptick involving juvenile smugglers who are recruited by transnational criminal organizations. In some cases, we encounter juvenile smugglers who are illegal immigrants.
"They are used to cross into the U.S. for the sole purpose of smuggling both people and drugs."

Brit Hiker's Remains Revealed On Alps By Melting Ice
Human remains found five months ago in the Swiss Alps have been identified as an English hiker who went missing nearly 50 years ago.
The preserved skeleton of the 32-year-old man had been exposed by melting ice on the Corbassiere Glacier.
Police say the body - found on the Pennine Alps, in southwestern canton of Valais on 5th September - has been positively identified as a walker who went missing in 1974, aged 32.
Officials have spent months working with British police and diplomats to discover who he was, through DNA samples.
Canton Police Valais said in a statement obtained by Newsflash on 16th February: "The remains found at the scene suggested that it could be a man who had been reported missing from the Grand Combin area since December 31, 1974.
"A DNA identification, in cooperation with the police in Great Britain, led to the confirmation of the identity of the missing person.
"This is an English national who was 32 years old at the time of his disappearance."
Police say he was found as part of a grim air search for human remains missing for decades that are now being exposed by global warming.
A spokesperson explained: "As part of the search for missing persons, the cantonal police are constantly looking for new possible leads.
"Due to the melting of the glacier, the agents of the cantonal police, in cooperation with the air force, went to the Corbassiere glacier."
Switzerland’s glaciers have shrunk by around 50 per cent in just 85 years, exposing the long-buried remains of missing climbers and hikers.
In another case, remains found on the Stockji Glacier in Zermatt, Switzerland, on 26th July 2022, were matched to a 27-year-old German mountaineer who was declared missing in August 1990.

Stowaway Stashed 100kg Of Cocaine In Freighter Anchor Chain
A stowaway trafficking more than 100 kilogrammes of cocaine has been seized after he was found hiding in a freighter ship's anchor compartment.
Spanish customs police found the bales of drugs sealed in four blue plastic bags with geolocator devices so they could be dumped overboard and collected later.
Customs video footage shows the bales of drugs hidden in the anchor compartment of the Greek-flagged ship heading to Turkey from Colombia.
The stowaway is believed to have climbed aboard the freighter up its mooring ropes as it left Colombia.
Customs officers are understood to have raided the boat while it was refuelling in the municipality of Algeciras, in the province of Cadiz, in Andalusia, in southern Spain.
Newsflash obtained a joint statement from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior and the Civil Guard, on Wednesday, 15th February.
The Spanish authorities said that the suspect "was hidden, along with four bales containing the narcotic substance, in the anchor compartment of a Greek-flagged cargo ship that was making a journey from Colombia to Turkey."
They added: "He intended to carry out the 'drop off' technique since each of the bundles had a geolocation device attached to it so that they could be picked up by their recipients in Spanish waters."
The operation was carried out as a coordinated effort between the Spanish Customs Office and the Tax Office, as well as the National Police.
The suspect was arrested with 99 packs of cocaine weighing 109 kilogrammes (240.3 lbs).
The Spanish authorities said that their investigations began "when, through international cooperation mechanisms, the agents received information from the Greek authorities, reporting the presence of a person on board a merchant ship bound for Algeciras [...]."
The authorities explained: "Once the ship was intercepted and docked, a person was located in the anchor compartment and next to him, a total of 99 packages of cocaine divided into four bales, for which he was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health.
"The investigation determined that the man had accessed the ship by climbing the mooring ropes, when he was leaving Colombia, introducing the cocaine bales helped by several people whose identity is being investigated."
The investigation is ongoing.

Girl Gang Trafficked 15 Kilos Of Cocaine In Pink Suitcases To Fund Champagne Lifestyle
A girl gang of middle-class drug traffickers caught with GBP 500,000 of cocaine and ketamine hidden in pink suitcases have been seized by airport police.
The four girls were arrested by customs officers in Israel, as they collected their luggage from two separate flights from the German capital, Berlin.
Israeli police later confirmed that the girls had been under observation during their trip to Germany.
They are accused of repeated trafficking runs into Israel from Berlin, Budapest and Bangkok between September 2022 and January 2023.
Police believe they trafficked around 15 kilos of cocaine before they were caught.
Prosecutors say they were working for a drug lord inside Israel, who has not yet been found.
The four were paid USD 8,800 (GBP 7,180) for each trip as well as an additional USD 880 (GBP 718) to cover travel expenses.
Investigators say they spent the cash on a VIP luxury lifestyle of five-star hotels, shopping trips and trendy nightclubs.
Social media images show the girls dressed in designer gear dripping with expensive jewellery.
Others show they sipping champagne on planes and holding lavish beach parties.
Police named the four as Arbel Mizrahi, 24, of Tel Aviv, Idan Tsauber, 24, of Kfar Saba, Orel Ben Haim, 24 of Kfar Saba, and Lee Poni, 22, of Kiryat Gat.
Customs officers found the drugs hidden inside a Sony Playstation console and bottles and jars of cosmetics.
At first, the four had tried to pretend they had no idea that the drugs were stashed in their luggage.
But one of the gang - Tsauber - confessed to police: " "I come from a good home, I don't want for anything.
"If I'd known what it was, I wouldn't agree to do it for any money. Of course I knew I was transferring something, but I thought the Sony PlayStation was stolen and it was all stolen goods, not drugs.
"It was only when the police opened the Sony in front of me using screwdrivers and told me there was cocaine in there that I realised."
When police looked at the girls' WhatsApp chats they found they switched between opening and discussing the trafficking and using the codename 'horse'.
One investigator told local media: "They consciously went after the easy and big money that would allow them a standard of living that does not match their financial capacity."
They also reportedly used the drugs that they were smuggling.
Superintendent Ezra Goldstein, who is the head of the Investigations and Intelligence Division, said: "Innocent women they are not."
All four have been remanded in custody as the investigation continues.

This is the amazing moment Spanish firefighters pull a woman alive from rubble six days after the Turkey earthquake.
The team of firefighters and volunteers had travelled to quake-ravaged Turkey from Spain's Madrid Region to help with rescue missions.
And their efforts came to fruition when they pulled a woman alive from a collapsed building after she spent more than 144 hours under tonnes of steel and concrete.
Annika Coll of ERICAM (Emergency and Immediate Response of the Community of Madrid) told media in Spain: "We were called because some construction workers heard noises."
The trapped woman was located and, following a complicated rescue operation, was pulled from the rubble.
Dr Ester Armela, who participated in the rescue, said: "This was a miracle."
When the woman was brought above ground, said the medic, "she was breathing spontaneously, like she was during the entire time she was buried".
The doctor continued: "For three hours we were giving her medication, first intramuscularly and then intraosseously into her arm."
Once the woman was brought up from beneath the wreck on a stretcher, she was taken to hospital "with very good vital signs".
The 50-year-old survivor - who has not been named - is now said to be recovering in hospital and was last reported to be in a stable condition.

Cop Car In Surrey On Emergency Call Films Meteor Crashing To Earth
This is the awe-inspiring moment a police car with a blue flashing light heading to an emergency call films a small meteor crashing to the earth.
Newsflash obtained the footage from Surrey Police on 13th February, along with a statement saying: "You never know what you will see in this job. Tonight at 2:58 am whilst on our way to an intruder call in #Ewell, officers were treated to this #meteor flying through the sky before it burnt out in a flash of orange."
Ewell is a suburban district in the borough of Epsom and Ewell in Surrey, around 10 miles south of central London, and cops confirmed that the meeting had been filmed early Monday morning.
The European Space Agency (ESA) had earlier also posted a tweet about the meteor, given the label Sar2667 saying that it was a one-meter meteoroid that was expected to strike the Earth’s atmosphere over northern France shortly before 4 am local time.
That makes it 3 am local time in England which corresponds with the time the police car filmed the flash of light.
ESA added: "This is just the seventh time an #asteroidimpact has ever been predicted before it happens."
They added it was a capital "sign of the rapid advancements in global asteroid detection capabilities!"

TURKEY EARTHQUAKE: Ankara Fire Department Crews Help Extinguish Raging Blaze At Port City
The video shows the moment Turkish firemen battle a raging fire at Port of Iskenderun that was triggered by the cataclysmic earthquakes that devastated the country.
The Ankara Fire Department immediately responded after one of the country's most important container ports - Iskenderun, in Hatay, Turkey - was covered in flames following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Monday, 6th February.
Video footage shared by the city of Ankara's mayor Mansur Yavas, 67, depicts the firefighters battling the fire out with water streams, as hundreds of shipping containers blast smoke into the sky.
The emergency crews reportedly struggled to access the fire at first, because of earthquake damage and nearby containers blocking their way.
But after they first extinguished it, the fire reportedly reignited once again, on Tuesday, 7th February.
Officials then deployed military helicopters and planes to bring the fire under control as fighting the flames from the land and sea turned out to be unfruitful.
Yavas said in a Twitter post obtained by Newsflash on Wednesday (8th February): "As Ankara Fire Department, we responded to the fire that broke out at Iskenderun Port at night with our foam tower and sprinklers."
The 67-year-old politician claimed that efforts to cool the site were under way.
Authorities urged all major shipping companies to divert their vessels to other terminals in the region after all operations at the port were shut down following the earthquake.
It has not been revealed whether the port will reopen to international ships soon.
The world's biggest shipping company, AP Moller Maersk, said: "We are currently planning to divert containers to nearby hubs within operational feasibility or hold at transhipment ports - including the Port of Mersin (in Turkey) and Port Said (in Egypt).
"It's not yet known how long recovery efforts will take and when the port can undergo a full inspection of the damage."
The 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit near the city of Gaziantep, in Gaziantep Province, Turkey, at 4.17 local time and at depth of 17.9 kilometres (11 miles).
It was followed by a second one - at a 7.7 magnitude - about 130 kilometres (80 miles) to the north.
The authorities have said that more than 22,000 people had been killed in Turkey and Syria as of Friday, 10th February.
Rescue missions are ongoing.

WAR IN UKRAINE: Ukrainian Artillery Destroys Russian OSA Surface-To-Air Missile System
These images show how Ukrainian artillery destroyed a Russian OSA surface-to-air missile system.
The footage shows the moment the Russian surface-to-air missile system is hit while partially hidden under a damaged building.
It can be seen receiving a direct hit that causes it to start burning.
Thick smoke can be seen rising into the air as the footage ends.
The images were obtained from the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Thursday, 9th February, along with a statement saying: "A Russian 'OSA' anti-aircraft missile system is burning.
"This is thanks to the artillery unit of the 59th Brigade together with our comrades from the friendly artillery brigade. Together we are stronger. Together to victory!"
The images and statement were also relayed by the Office of Strategic Communications (StratCom) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday, 10th February.
Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a "special military operation". Today marks the 352nd day of the war.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that between 24th February 2022 and 10th February 2023, Russia had lost about 135,740 personnel, 3,258 tanks, 6,471 armoured combat vehicles, 2,251 artillery units, 463 multiple launch rocket systems, 233 air defence systems, 295 warplanes, 286 helicopters, 1,970 drones, 796 cruise missiles, 18 warships, 5,126 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, and 211 units of special equipment.
Russia has claimed that its casualties have been much lower but provides infrequent updates on its latest figures.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that several European Union leaders are prepared to provide his country with combat aircraft.
Zelensky said on Thursday: “Europe will be with us until our victory. I’ve heard it from a number of European leaders … about the readiness to give us the necessary weapons and support, including the aircraft.”
He added: “I have a number of bilaterals now, we are going to raise the issue of the fighter jets and other aircraft.”
The Ukrainian president also urged European leaders to deliver weaponry faster and begin EU membership discussions with Ukraine this year.
A spokesperson for the UK Prime Minister said that Defence Secretary Ben Wallace was looking into “whether we can provide fighter jets in the future”.
But the UK government also said that it would not send combat aircraft to Ukraine if this created risks to British safety.
Russia has reportedly launched a major new offensive in eastern Ukraine and is attempting a push near the town of Kreminna, according to the Ukrainian Governor of Luhansk, Serhiy Haidai.
Haidai said on Thursday that there had been “maximum escalation”, adding: “So far they haven’t had any success. Our defenders have been able to hold them back completely.”
Russian drones and missiles have hit targets in southern and eastern Ukraine on Thursday night, with Serhiy Lysak, the Ukrainian military administrator for the Dnipropetrovsk region, saying that Shahed drones had been detected in the area.
Zelensky has claimed that Ukraine has intercepted Russian secret service plans to destroy Moldova.
Speaking in Brussels to EU leaders, Zelensky said that his services had intercepted evidence that “shows who, when and how was going to break the democracy of Moldova and establish control over Moldova.”
Zelensky said that he had immediately warned his Moldovan counterpart, President Maia Sandu.
