Finding your tribe outside of the military
Erik Bartell left the military with no idea what he was going to do next. After serving for six years as an Army infantry officer, an injury forced him to make a decision. Erik had always wanted to lead, but with this injury, he would not be able to lead Soldiers directly in the field. He made the difficult decision to leave the Army and soon found inspiration from an unlikely source, fitness. Erik found his drive and was soon teaching other veterans the tools they needed to move forward. Learn about Erik’s journey with The FitOps Foundation and how supportive organizations can make all the difference for the veteran community.

How Kirstie Ennis overcame her wounds – both physical and mental
Kirstie Ennis was just starting her service in the Marines Corps when a helicopter crash in Afghanistan took her leg. Growing up in a military family, Kirstie always knew she was going to serve, and she planned to spend her career in the military. The crash disrupted her plans, but instead of slowing her down, the accident fueled her to do more on one leg than she ever dreamed of doing on two. Kirstie went on to become a Paralympic snowboarder, a Hollywood stuntwoman, and even climbed the south summit of Mt. Everest. Find out about her plans to climb the Seven Summits in 2021 and her efforts to encourage everyone to climb the mountain in front of them.

MG3 machine gun
Goat Guns: https://bit.ly/3yIRyuL
Use CODE: PURPOSE for 10% off
The MG3 and its latest version the H&K MG5 come from the MG42, which is the infamous portable machine gun that started it all. This weapon was so well made that to this very day, the modern German Armed forces are still using the basically SAME flippin’ machine gun they used all the way back in World War II.
Its mechanics remain largely unchanged over the past 70 years, which shows how well engineered this weapon system was in the first place; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The major military powers that aren’t using the MG3 are using weapons that borrow heavily from its design - that's how influential this gun has been.

What's new with Denmark Military's M60 Echo 6?
The M60 MG is nicknamed the “Pig” or the “hog” for its hefty size and infinite hunger for chewing through belts of ammo. If you ask me the US Army never should have dumped the M60 back in 1977. It fires the high powered 7.62 by 51 mm round. It’s gas-operated, air cooled, belt fed with a muzzle velocity of 853 meters per second. The new version is now three pounds lighter and 5 inches shorter. It has a much lower rate of fire down to 550 rounds per minute as opposed to old version which was 1,200. sometimes less is more! or at least that's what people say to me all the time.

The original version of the weapon would go into ‘run away gun’ mode where it continues to fire even after you take your finger off the trigger, it misfired all the time, the feed tray cracked after putting only 100K rounds through it and that was by design. The trigger group was known to fall off, and the Gas system would unthread itself. It was notoriously awkward to change out barrels since it was attached to the bipod. This forced the operator to awkwardly dismount from a firing position to swap barrels. Come on M60 you’re better than that!

The M2 Bradley is an outstanding armored vehicle
Use code TASK25 for 25% off your first order - https://bit.ly/2R32y4v
BEA System's M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle has a lot of detractors that like to knock on the vehicle and claim it’s a complete piece of garbage. If you look closely a lot of that criticism is completely fabricated facts that come from a 1998 Hollywood movie called the “Pentagon Wars” which was hilarious but largely false.

The first version of the Bradley came out in 1981 in direct response to the soviet creation of the BMP. They thought about copying the soviet idea but instead chose to create a new doctrine. They imagined a vehicle that could fight alongside the M1 Abrahams. It would help locate enemy targets and then it would drop ramp, infantry would run out and help pin the enemy in that location. The highly maneuverable fast Bradley is an integral part of heavy armored brigades because without them the M1 Abrahams would have less situational awareness and be far more vulnerable to being flanked.
#MILITARY #ARMOR #VEHICLE
The American forces had the next generation Bradley's with thermal sights and a better communications network. This allowed them to coordinate between each other and focus fire on one enemy vehicle at a time.

Watch me try to talk about the Israel Defense Forces without getting canceled. One of the reasons they’ve switched to the TAR-21 is this rifle has addressed some of the main complaints against the bullpup like the difficulty with awkward reloading. It’s specifically tailored for the kind of close quarters urban narrow street engagements the IDF often find themselves in.
New Channel:

In the Six-Day-War they were way outgunned by five different countries but they still came out victorious. Would another country’s military be able to do the same? Many military historians point to the IDF’s obvious incentive to win these battles has to do with their families living only a few miles away from where they are fighting. With the IDF switching to a Bullpup it means we’re likely to continue seeing these guns for years to come.

SERE: The most feared military training
Imagine yourself stuck behind enemy lines. You hear voices shouting as they get closer to your position. You hear the crack of gunshots all around you. You try to hide frantically covering yourself in a pile of leaves. You hear the pounding of boots coming closer and closer. Then the unthinkable happens and you're captured. Taken to prison where you’re forced into an isolated cell with a bag over your head while loud terrifying psychological warfare music is played at full volume. This is a taste of what the US Military’s Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape Course is like.
SERE prepares soldiers for several realities. How to avoid capture. How to navigate and live off the land. How to build makeshift shelters. What to do if you’re captured. In this video I want to find out everything we need to know about SERE. In order to get to the bottom of this I’ve read through a recently declassified 35 page document written by a former SERE instructor that outlines how they operate. As always none of the information I present is sensitive it is all publicly available I’m not breaking OPSEC here don’t worry.
The outline makes it clear the instructors are to be harsh and realistic with the training. Their goal is to put students through sleep deprivation, hunger, boredom, exhaustion, isolation, its one of the only schools where they use physical abuse but throughout the document they provide safety regulations to prevent students from being seriously injured. The goal isn’t to fail students but to give them the tools needed to succeed in a POW situation. So while they will put black bags over peoples heads and handcuff them the instructors are told not to march them in circles or have them walk over dangerous obstacles with a hood over their head.
Even if you’ve been to SERE school there’s a good chance you haven’t been through the top tier levels. Even this declassified document does not go into the top secret portions of the class that is reserved for high level SF operators and CIA types. There is mention in the document to instructors avoiding discussing Shadow Level techniques. Savvy Shadow is the codename that appears to denote students who are given just enough information to accomplish their job. Basically there are all kinds of clearance levels for information in this course.

M18 Claymore savage history
“Front toward enemy” is written on every single US Army M18 Claymore. I just want to say whoever thought to do that is a doggone genius.
Follow the Host: linktr.ee/cappyarmy
Why can’t we have that kind of simple straightforward direction written on every piece of military equipment. Every rifle, grenade, helicopter and military issued sock should have this kind of clear cut instructions to make everything as idiot proof as the Claymore.
The claymore system itself is made up of three separate pieces: the mine, the clacker and the blasting cap wire. The mine is basically packed with a layer of 1 and a half pounds of the military's favorite c4 then 700 tiny 1/8th of an inch steel balls that fire out at a 60 degree arc in front of the device. This arch is achieved by the slight curvature of the claymore plastic case.
These steel balls fire out at a velocity of about 4,000 feet per second so that’s traveling 1,000 feet per second faster than a bullet from your standard M4. The operator has to make sure they’re still at least 100 meters to the rear of this device because when it explodes it’s a whole lot more of an explosion than a hand grenade
The main tactic used with the claymore nowadays is ‘terrain denial’ which means you have an area near your unit that you want to prevent the enemy from approaching. Usually this is used as a defensive device when you’ve set up a base somewhere and you want to sure up any weak spots in your defensive line. It can also be used to cover your flanks. Let’s do a quick breakdown of how a perimeter defence for a squad armed with some calymores might look like.

Why the US Army's M16 rifle can't be replaced
The US Army's M16 wasn’t made to simply hold its own against the enemy’s AK47. The purpose of the M16 and the M4 was to absolutely crush the Ak47’s performance in every category from ease of use to accuracy. I think the data shows the gun accomplished that goal. In this video we'll learn the educational history of the M16 machine gun from Vietnam to modern day combat. I'll explain how the M16 main US Army gas operated rifle works.
Use code: PURPOSE for 10% off your order -- https://bit.ly/3s65Lhr
This rifle and the smaller intermediate caliber 5.56 mm is more accurate and lethal. During a marksmanship test conducted in 1961 by the US Army they discovered 43% of M16 shooters would qualify as experts while only 22% of 762 M-14 shooters could do the same.
The basic evolution of the M16 and M4 from the A1 to the A4 is that Eugene Stoner added a heavier barrel and a three round burst setting instead of full auto.

In fact, our government made a backroom handshake deal with the Belgians and FN Herstal promising we’d use their rifle. They were even offering to throw in free Belgian chocolate bars if we accepted! We blew it ! It fires the powerful 7.62 mm by 51mm round at 650 rounds per minute with a range of 600 meters. The accuracy on it is reported to be outstanding
Welcome to our military channel, in this episode we're going to find out about the future next-generation variant of the FN FAL and I’m going to give you both sides of the controversial argument about why the US military came close but never ended up using it.
the US Forces wanted nothing to do with the original version. The rifle was so widely used by the NATO allies during the cold war days that it became known as “the right arm of the free world” I wonder what the “left arm of the free world” was holding then?

How one soldier wiped an entire enemy squad in Fallujah
Its hard to believe what US Army SSG Bellavia did to try to save his squad in Fallujah Iraq. It's unbelievable how much he turned his life around from feeling like a weak man to leading the most intense battle in Fallujah. He's been called the Audie Murphy of our generation. In February 2004, SGT David Bellavia deployed with the 2nd Battalion 2nd infantry regiment, 1st ID. They were stationed outside Fallujah. He was a squad leader responsible for the lives of his soldiers.
Follow the Host: linktr.ee/cappyarmy

His platoon was tasked with searching and clearing houses in Fallujah. They were already engaged in months of fierce close quarters fighting. Bellavia was no longer bothered by fear at this point. He was fueled by it. By this time he had transformed from what he felt like was a weak man into a reliable leader who was ready for whatever this war could throw at him.
On the tenth house they were clearing he would be pushed beyond the limits of fear and hostility that soldiers normally have to endure. When they approached the infamous house Sgt Bellavia stayed outside and looked through the windows so he could see if any enemies were going to try to shoot at his platoon when they entered.

His platoon began clearing the house but they took intense enemy fire. Bellavia can’t see where the enemy position is from outside the house so he sprints inside and quickly realizes just how bad the situation is. The two enemy insurgents are entrenched behind a staircase. They’re hiding behind half ton concrete jersey barriers. One has an Ak47 and the other has a belt fed PKM machine gun. Sergeant Bellavia is impressed with how prepared the enemy kill zone is.
In this video find out about US army SSG Bellavia's incredible act of valor during OIF in Fallujah 2004.

Stop using the AT-4 Rocket Launcher against tanks
AT4 84mm rocket launcher is the key anti-armor weapon for any modern on the go infantry squad. I think the biggest question about this piece of equipment today is probably simply why are we even using it anymore? It's been around since the late 1980s and since then we’ve developed weapons like the Javelin and upgraded Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle which have way better anti-armor capabilities. Truth be told the AT4 isn’t really even rated to go head to head with a main battle tank.

To get stuck on all of that would be to forget all of the positives about the AT4. For one, the back blast with the AT4-Confined Space version, isn’t nearly as serious. No I’m not saying don’t make sure no one is behind you but there is definitely less of a chance of turning the whole squad into a piece of toast.
The AT4 can be fired from the prone which might not sound like a big deal until your squad leader pulls you to the side and says “hey can you go crouch over there and shoot a rocket at that tank” the MAAWS on the other hand can injure out to 75 meters behind you when fired. That’s basically firing a weapon in both directions and hoping the other side takes more of the explosion than your own team.
The new version AT4-CS uses a saltwater countermass packed into the launcher tube that’s meant to eat up and absorb the back blast while also slowing down the dangerous pressure wave. It's 3 feet long and weighs 15 lbs. Max range 300 meters. Wow. Amazing. What a coincidence? That is EXACTLY 20 miles and 300 meters closer to enemy armor than I would ever want to be. It has a 500 meter range if you’re aiming at an area target but that sounds terrifying because it means you would be aiming at it like a platoon of tanks 500 meters away.
Which brings us to the next point: yes the AT4 is not meant to go head to head with a main battle tank like the T-90 because its armor is too thick. It can, however, knock the tracks off a tank and is very effective against other lesser armored vehicles like the BMP. The launcher can also be used against fortified enemy forces that are in a building or hiding behind cover on a mountain.

What's the point of new unarmored vehicles?
Take one look at the Army’s new whip called the Ground Mobility Vehicle and your first thought is probably "no way am I getting in that thing." Recently the entire US Military has been adding unarmored fast lightweight off road vehicles like the GMV and the Infantry Squad Vehicle. The marines have their desert patrol vehicle that is so lightweight there are reports of it flipping over when they tried firing a recoilless rifle from it.

So what’s going on here with all these barebones infantry troop transports? I thought we just spent the last two decades up armoring every vehicle to the teeth till they could barely qualify to go over a bridge. Listen, if my squad leader gave me a briefing saying “Alright everyone we’re moving out to the enemy compound in our new unarmored buggy” They’d have to make me go kicking and screaming.

Is the FAMAS Upgrade too Bulky?

The main rifle they wield in battle is a unique looking bullpup called the FAMAS. That is one beautiful piece of weapons firearms machinery! It might come as a surprise but this rifle has seen heavy combat all around the world.
See, I grew up in the United States hearing jokes about how the French military always gives up, they surrender right away, I’m sure you’ve heard the stereotypes. In reality this couldn’t be further from the truth.
The French Foreign Legion is as tough as any other military unit out there worth their salt and they’ve been stomping around taking names and dropping bod’s with their bullpup 5.56mm FAMAS. In this video I want to know everything about the history and tactics of the FAMAS rifle.

Army combat medics are effective on the battlefield thanks to their intense training and excellent equipment. Treating casualties under fire is about as difficult of a job as anyone in the military could ask for. Thanks to combat quick clot gauze, improved bandages and tourniquets medics save more lives than ever before. First aid training has also been greatly improved.
