2023 Audi RS5 Competition! Updated to an Emotional V6 Sports Coupé
Thanks to Ridge for sponsoring this video! Visit https://ridge.com/rbr and use code “RBR” for 10% off.
Welcome back to RBR, I’m your super powered host Raz, and for the full drive of the new #AudiSport #RS5 Competition version of the RS5 Coupe! This is the Sportier #Audi RS5 we’ve been pining for, it takes the basis of the standard car, and makes a host of tweaks to create a more emotional and dynamic car. Including manually adjustable suspension, and a more exciting soundtrack.
I’ll walk you through the evolution of the RS5 so far, and then we’ll take a look under the skin of what they’ve changed in the Competition version including all the unique design elements inside and out, and then drive it both on road and on Ascari race track here in Spain! So let’s check out the RS5 Competition!
Unlike BMW M with the 2 4 and 8 coupes, or AMG with C E and S - the RS5 sits as Audi’s only performance 2 door coupe. So it’s always had to fulfil a number of roles beyond just grand touring or out and out performance. You can track this back to the first one, with the 4.2 FSI V8 with 450BHP in the B8. It should have had all the brutality the RS4 of the time had, but somehow the drivetrain was more relaxed in the RS5, as Chris Harris said in Evolution mag “it is exceptionally refined with a chassis that wants you to relax”.
The B9 was a similar story. 60kg lighter than predecessor, it was powerful with 450HP from The hot V set up up twin turbo V6, which is more refined in it’s delivery than all the rivals, and paired to compliant suspension, the Quattro and best in class interior - made for a superb grand tourer, rather than out and out brute force.
It was never emotionally engaging in terms of sound, nor massively so dynamically speaking when it came to steering and handling.
The RS5 Competition, seeks to give the Audi Sport customer what they’ve been missing - a more hardcore track focused RS coupe!
The engine is unchanged, the only thing not tweaked at all - so still the
2.9l V6 bi turbo with the Hot V set up producing: 450PS, 600NM. However we have an improved 0-60 of 3.8 seconds, 0.2 faster than the normal one.
A lot of this is thanks to the 8 speed tiptronic, which has whole new software to make it much more emotional and shift faster in Dynamic Mode especially. Further optimised it also the Quattro sport differential - still 85% to the rear but more aggressive in delivery. Paired with the Unique 20” Competition Wheels which are much lighter, and stickier p zero corsa tyres, we have a faster car out the blocks!
The biggest change is in suspension, with the RS sport suspension pro - stiffer spring rates all around and full manual adjustment for Rebound, damper rate and ride height of 10-20mm less than the normal car. We also gain new Sport anti roll bar on rear and front which are much stiffer, and dynamic steering with specific tuning and a fixed ratio of 13/1.
Braking has also been adjusted in a big way to allow for braking 2 meters shorter - something that took awhile for me to get used to! And finally, the sweetest part: Exhaust System changes - 8kg less sound deadening, and modification to flaps makes this a joy to drive slow as well.
But will the changes be enough to make the RS5 stand out vs accomplished competition? (No pun intended) Let’s find out today!!

2023 New BMW M2 G87 Coupé! First Look!
NEW GENERATION M2!! After all the leaks: It’s finally here! The best #BMWM car in it me all new G87 model. Welcome back to RBR I’m Raz your super powered car reviewer, let’s waste no time today because it’s finally #M2 Time!! 50 years of M, and they left the best #BMW till last.
So like I said, it’s 50 Years of BMW M, and M Town has already celebrated with lust worthy things like the first ever M3 Touring, the fastest M car ever in the M4 CSL, their first hybrid V8 in the XM, and are plotting their first ever all electric M with 4 motors…
With all this fanfare over over the more premium stuff, one might think M had lost sight of which model is it’s best car - but look, they saved the best for last! They are VERY much aware how important the M2 is to us. Want confirmation of that, then look no further than how safe they played it with the grille design, no experimentations here!
Today I’m going to show you every detail inside and out, compare it VS the M2 Competition and M2 standard from the predecessors, and peel internally to see the depth of change.
Let’s first discuss the M2 itself. The truth is, the M2 is the flagship of BMW M. A car that transcends the brand, as an automotive icon. One of the few cars that we’d argue over less, and agree on more, and thus a car we’d all have in our perfect garage.
One might think it became their most loved car faster than any other model, but that would be a lie, because this is a car that has not deviated from the original M DNA set by the E30 M3: being a small angry looking performance coupe, in-line 6 engine, rwd and aiming for the best in dynamics.
In that way, the M2 is Valedictorian of the M Town school of Performance. So for our new car, also a tough act to follow.
So from what I’ve understood about this car after speaking to M today, the new G87 M2 doesn’t seek to break the linkage to the E30, rather it gives us what we desperately need. More of the same brilliant basics.
That’s not to say it hasn’t matured… it has! Let’s talk about what’s changed. Where the old F22 and new 2 Series 4 door cars still share tech with the 1 series - the new 2er coupe uses the CLAR platform like the 3/4, and thus also 4 Series Chassis technology, engines, gearbox, brakes, and even huge familiarity in the interior and tech available.
The M2 takes this idea, to the next level - pretty much ripping out everything from the M3, and repurposing it for itself. The Goal: Superiority in Dynamics - and M say the Dynamics of previous car have beens surpassed.
So first and foremost, we are RWD Drive only and available in 8 speed auto or 6 speed manual! The drive train is Complete carryover of from M3/4. So the M3’s 3-litre straight-six twin single scroll turbo S58 engine which produces: 460 BHP, 550NM and 0-60 - 4.1 (4.3 for
Manual).
That’s 50BHP more than the previous comp, and even 10BHP more than the CS, with the same torque figure! It’s also a massive differentiation to the 240i with it’s 370 BHP and xdrive.
Approx same output as manual M3, but below the competition versions of the 3/4. Does this leave space for the Competition G87 or higher model CS potentially? I would bet on it.
We also have M specific suspension with Lightweight shock absorbers, and a host of struts, plates and braces as in the M4. In fact we have the same front and rear axles, but new spring and dampers, steering, rear axle differential configuration for the M2.
Exhaust system is similar but shorter, see what the new M2 exhaust sounds like in the video.
It’s not a light car though, weighing almost the same as the M3. More in the video.
Design wise, VS the old car the M2 is 11.4 cm longer, 3.3 cm wider and 1.0 cm lower. Wheelbase is 5.4 cm longer too. Give’s it a very aggressive and wide stance. We have a Unique M Body which is controversial to say the least! Inside we have the huge curved display from the M3, carbon seats and some great M DNA.
Options wise, carbon seats, roof, and wheels, paint shades of red, white, black, grey, and a new Senford Blue.
I’ll also show you the rumoured M Performance parts with titanium exhaust system - and big wing from the M Hommage.
The new M2 is PRICED at 72k in GERMANY - Current M2 competition starts at 61K, and the CS was 95K Euros. SO you’re getting performance at the CS level for less, but it’s a big hike. Will it be worth it, only a drive will really tell!

First Ride in New C63 AMG! What’s it like on the road? w/ Mr AMG
Every AMG Fan wants to know: What is the 4 Cylinder C63 Hybrid like?! The #C63 now has 680BHP in the w206 Generation, losing the V8 but gaining huge power and a 4Matic system for the first time! Losing some things, and gaining some things.
As a reminder: this gen had to use a 4 Cylinder as #MercedesAMG had to help reduce emissions across the whole Mercedes Benz fleet, so it’s most popular car had to change technology. So it also loses the V8 RWD formula and gains fully variable all wheel drive and a hybrid system inspired by Mercedes F1. It also tries to make up with it with the addition of almost 700 horses!
The 4 cylinder unit aka M139L uses the MGU-H electric gas turbocharger from F1 and the AMG ONE, and by itself makes 476BHP, making it the most powerful 4 cylinder production engine in the world. Like the V8 of old, it’s also a one-man-one-engine unit hand built in Affalterbach, AMG HQ.
After this, we get a huge boost from the electric system. A 6.1KW performance battery on the rear helps power an “Electric Drive Unit” or EDU, sitting directly on the rear axle. The EDU houses the Electric Motor, a 2 speed transmission and the limited slip differential. Together, this system gives consistent 93BHP and 320NM too, OR a mind blowing 204 BHP on kick down for 10 seconds! Making that output of 680 BHP! Torque is a mind boggling 1020NM and the claimed 0-60 is 3.4 seconds - today you’ll get to see my face when we test it!
It’s not all positive though. The exhaust and sound is likely to be hugely muted vs what we’re used to. That powerful system adds Over 200kg weight making the car a portly 2111KG. So what is this going to do to the steering neutrality, body roll, rigidity, understeer and general handling characteristics? Something I hope to see in action today.
Today at Immendingen, we are joined by AMG handling expert Rene, will join us to give an idea of what changes have been made and what the goal for the project was. Including some insights into the different driving modes, ESP modifications, EV mode and rear wheel steering.
We’ll also get an idea of the suspension today. It’s a completely modified AMG Ride control suspension with a new front axle, new rear axle sub frame, new stiffer springs on the front and rear and a damping system more advanced than traditional systems. We’ll see how it handles normal road driving and more exciting track stuff.
Speaking of track stuff: the car has Drift Mode!! Where all 680 HP goes to the rear wheels, de-coupling the front axle. We’ll test this plenty today! We’ll also get an understanding of “Boost Mode” that the race mode of the C63 has, and how it works in reality.
Sound won’t be final, but we’ll get some idea of what it’ll be like. More crucially, I want to see if it’ll stack up as a serious performance car. These days weight is not the be-all end-all of the handling topic - it’s how you deal with it that counts!

OFFICIAL! 2023 C63 S E Performance First Look!! 680BHP 4 Cyl AMG Hybrid!
To get 60% off your 1st box + 25% off for 2 months use my code “RBR” and click here! https://bit.ly/RBR_HelloFreshSeptember. Limited offer ending by the end of September.
It’s finally time….! The #C63 of the w206 Generation is here, and the V8 is gone.
This generation had to use a 4 Cylinder and P3 hybrid system, simply because #MercedesAMG had to bring down their fleet emissions, and with the C Class series being so popular it was the first to get the biggest reduction. It also loses the RWD format in favour of fully variable all wheel drive, making this the first C63 4Matic car! But what it loses in cylinders it makes up in PURE POWER - 680 Horses worth!!
The first element of this new system is the 4 cylinder one-man-one-engine M139L engine from the A45 originally, and then the C43 which gains the MGU-H electric gas turbocharger from the AMG ONE, and a belt starter generator - , but the 63 runs on a 400V system and with a bigger E-Turbo in the C63 it makes a huge 476BHP!! That makes it the most powerful 4 cylinder production engine ever made!
The further 204 BHP comes from the Electric side of the car. There’s an Electric Drive Unit/EDU on the rear sitting under the #AMG performance battery. This holds the Electric Motor, a 2 speed transmission and the lim slip diff. The 6.1KW AMG PERFORMANCE BATTERY is tech again from the ONE, with 560 individually cooled cells for fast charging and release of energy. This P3 hybrid system provides 93BHP continuously, and 320NM too, or a huge 204 BHP on kick down or boost for 10 seconds. So a total output of 680 BHP, 1020NM of Torque and a 0-60 of 3.4 seconds!!
But it adds 200kg weight and 2111KG total, and even though the the weight on the front axle is reduced thanks to the lighter engine and the rest of the weight is on the rear, it’s going to be a struggle with handling.
Suspension/Chassis thus is hugely modified with a modified AMG Ride control suspension - First a Newly developed front axle which is a 4 link front. A mew rear axle sub frame, with a multi link rear - new stiffer springs on the front and way stiffer on the rear. The damping system in this is more advanced than traditional piston systems, instead using a larger oil based system that is more effective in negating bumps. We have stiffer strutts, rubber bushings, cross bar near the rear battery, and negative camber of -2 on front and rear — All of this helps with the heavier car.
The Design features an all new AMG body shell on the front, and small nips and tucks to the rear. Unique front from the a pillar onwards, the 63 AMG is 50 MM LONGER, WIDER front wings by 76MM. There are lovely Power domes, air outlet in bonnet, and finally an AMG badge on the hood!
Up next on on RBR is a Co Drive of this new C63S E and then a surprise video!!! Subscribe to support us and see it first. :)

Every new AMG Coming in the next few years, starring the New C192 AMG GT!!
Welcome back to RBR everyone, I’m Raz your host, and welcome to a new video series where we take a look at the future vehicles a manufacturer has coming - and we’re going to kick it off with Mercedes AMG!
AMG have a tonne of new cars on the way in the next two years, so let's check out 10 AMG’s in the future line up!
1 - C63S E Performance
The C63 is losing it’s V8 in favour of a new 4 Cylinder and P3 hybrid system. It also loses the RWD format in favour of 4matic AWD. The first element is 4 cylinder one-man-one-engine M139L engine, with the MGU-H electric gas turbo from the AMG ONE, giving 470BHP, plus 201 HP from the [3 hybrid! So a total of 670 BHP - some 170 more than an M3, and even 60 more than the current E63!!
2 - A Class series of AMGs
A35 and CLA 35 will gain the AMG grille along with the facelift nip tucks. The 45 series also get new lights, and apparently the performance won’t change either. Bigger changes will be inside, with the new steering wheel with updated and configurable AMG menus.
3 - GLE Facelift 53/63
Another facelift on the way is the GLE family! GLE 53 has been spotted with a new front end looking rather aggressive, while the 63 only seems to benefit from the revised lights on the facelift.
4 - GLC 43 and 63S
GLC 43 - same idea as the C43, it’ll have the 400BHP 4 cyl engine with the electric turbo, 500NM. Design will be limited to grille, wheels and pipes. The new GLC63S is the same system as the C63 so a hybrid 670 BHP!
5 - S63 E Performance
Apparently we’re getting two V8 powered Hybrids, along the same lines as the GT63 E Performance. That means the 4.0 v8 up front, and the P3 hybrid on the rear. As for changes, its the biggest design change an S63 has ever had - for the first time in history eschewing it’s traditional grille for a sports one!
6 - Next Gen E53 E-Performance
It’s looking like bad news for E Class, it seems the best we will get is an E53 for now, apparently dubbed the E53 E Performance, same system as C63 will power it - and that currently an E63 won’t happen.
7 - SL 63 E Performance
The SL is also getting the E Performance treatment in the V8, with a SL 63 E Performance. Without sounding like a broken record, expect the V8 with the P3 system, and I’d wager something around 700 BHP for this car.
8 - EQG
The Electric G wagon, or EQG will be the first Mercedes EV to make use of the new high density batteries previewed in the EQXX for a huge huge boost in range + will feature 4 electric motors, each with its own gearbox which can replicate the famous 3 diff locks as the normal G Has, as well as this funky “G Turn” or tank turn.
9 - CLE 63 AMG
Coming in coupe and cab, this replaces both C and E Coupes, looking closer to C Class - not being pillar-less, the AMG version is already doing the runs, so expect an 63 with 800 BHP at some point!
10 - New AMG GT
Codename C192 - Alongside the SL was one of the last cars planned with ex boss Tobias Moers. Firstly, It shares the new Modular Sport Architecture with with the SL - but modified for the fixed roof and hatchback rear. The famous 4.0 V8 will be used in a dry sump lubrication as before, but it is no longer a rear-transaxle layout... and it's 4matic! Learn more in the video! I expect two V8’s to begin with a AMG GT with 469BHP, and a AMG GT S with 577BHP - A 4 cylinder version will follow which has been seen tested, and undoubtedly a 700+ BHP E performance version - no idea if we get a track focused GT R or Black Series.
Conclusion - V8 Future
I’ll also discuss the future of the V8 at AMG! But more crucially coming out TOMORROW on RBR is the unveil of the new C63 S E Performance!! 3PM BST, subscribe to see it first! :)

Welcome back to RBR and to the first drive of the new #GLC! The newest version of the best selling #Mercedes car today!
The GLC has really evolved into a beautiful car since it’s loose origins in the boxy GLK. Last gen was so popular it dethroned the C Class as the most sold, most desirable Mercedes, and the AMG version held accolades of the fastest around the Ring for a huge amount of of it’s life cycle.
Our new gen is upping the ante in every area, while adapting for the world’s shift towards EVs. And what better version to test than the plug-in hybrid with 100km Electric range - and the most powerful one in the standard line up: the GLC 400E hybrid!
Today I take a thorough look at what makes the new gen of hybrids tick, and how the practicality is: then check out all the different driving modes and why you’d buy a plug in GLC.
Like any best selling product: the GLC is very important to #MercedesBenz and it’s customers. So they’re throwing the kitchen sink at this generation. And what I mean by that is, they’re not rewriting the book in a massive way, because the last generation’s formula was frankly brilliant.
So once again, they’re using their best platform and best tech - all shared with C Class and S Class, the new MRA2 platform, shared with the C and S and it’s one that’s been optimised for electrification. So with the GLC, every model is either hybrid assisted or full plug in like this car. They are also all 4wd as standard, and the 9 speed gearbox.
The hybrid element at minimum features a 48v car system, using an ISG or integrated starter generator, between engine and gearbox, providing immediate 200nm torque and a bit of horsepower before the combustion engine takes over.
The full hybrid is more interesting, crossing the world of both combustion and EV. It has a 31kw battery packaged better in the rear boot than the predecessor, and a permanently excited internal rotor synchronous motor - which gives 440 Nm torque and 100kw and 135BHP. And a decent 86MPH as max on EV mode.
The GLC gives you a choice of both diesel and petrol hybrids, and our car today is the GLC 400E plug in with - 381 hp, 650 Nm, 61miles range. 0-60 5.6secs.
But Vs a non hybrid, weighs 400KG more! 2355 kg makes this one Porky car. So it has new suspension, a new four-link front set up, with a multi-link rear. It has improved ride quality and and you can also get the Airmatic suspension with active dampening, this comes along with rear axle steering for the first time, of up to 4.5 degrees - more than C class.
Design Wise - It’s 6cm longer, with 3 of that going to the boot space, and the rest is the same as the predecessor which I’ll compare it directly to. We'll also compare the normal GLC to the plug in in terms of boot space lost by the battery section.
I’ll also preview for your the 2023 GLC 43 , the upcoming GLC 63S 4 cylinder (with exhaust sound) and the coupe version. Huge thanks to Wilcobloc and for the spy video of the GLC!- https://instagram.com/wilcoblok/
So let’s find out what the new GLC is like today, and see if the heavy plug in hybrid is for us!
Up next on RBR is a surprise video about AMG’s future line up!! Subscribe to support us and see it first. :)

New 2 Series Coupé is The BMW we all need! // M240i xDrive
They might call it the 2 Series Coupé- but don’t let them fool you. This is in truth, a 3 Series coupe. Particularly our 240i, which uses literally everything from a 440i and shoved it into a smaller better looking mini coupe!
Big thanks to Air For Life for sponsoring this video! You can get 25% off using code “RBR” and our link https://www.airforlife.co.uk/RBR.

The team behind the new 2 Series are true heroes. With the 1 series and all other 2 series compact #BMW’s ditching the niche RWD market in favour of front wheel drive, the 2 series engineers insisted on three things for the coupe: a RWD platform shared with 3/4 series, the famous 6 cylinder in the performance models, and a design to totally differentiate it to other compact cars. It’s a battle they fought, and won for us, a tiny niche in the car world who still lust after the small 2 door sport coupe!
So in a lot of ways, it’s not an exaggeration to say that this is the most important BMW they’ve released in modern times. The 2 series coupe is trying to be the best it can in every way too, with not just platform stolen from 3/4 but tech and materials from those cars, unlike the predecessor 1 and 2 series coupes. And of course an M2 coming as the spearhead of 50 years of #BMWM!
Today we’ll see the history of the 2 series, how it evolved from the BMW 02, then E30 3 series, to the more modern first predecessor in the 1 series coupe E82.
We’ll directly compare it to the 2 series F22 coupe, how the 2 series started to evolve into it’s own thing - along with the evolution of the M2, all the way to the CS!
In our new gen, all BMW compact cars became FWD cars with transversely mounted engines, including the popular M hatchbacks and the 2 series 4 door variants. The #2series Coupé however, shares little to no DNA with these cars.
Instead it sits on the CLAR platform, shared with 3/4, rather than FWD platform of 1 etc
4 Series Chassis technology - today’s M240i borrows the powertrain wholesale from the M440i.
So, that’s a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six with: 374BHP, 500nm and a claimed 4.3secs to 60 (we are much quicker).
Driven by a rear biased XDrive with M-sport diff as standard - the 240i has Increased negative camber on front end, lift related dampers are standard, electronic dampers in the adaptive M suspension option, active aero flaps reducing lift and the 8 speed roque converter. It’s heavy though, 1755kg in the xDrive, let’s see if we feel it.
The design is a key selling point: Maximum differentiation to 1 Series and other 2 Series models. It’s longer than the older car, wider but not as tall: giving it a stance as mean as an M2!
The interior is a massive selling point, and justifies a lot on the price increase in this generation. It is the same if not better than the four series in almost all areas - huge improvement over the last gen, and the tech and comfort will really surprise you! As well as how brilliant it is on mileage on the motorway.
BUT, at the price it sits, it’ll have to really convince us that it’s worth buying over a previous gen M2! Let’s see how it does!

AMG ONE DRIVEN! Mr AMG on the F1 Powered Hyper Car!
AMG’s Hyper Car DRIVEN on the Nurburgring GP Circuit! Just saying that out loud baffles my mind, I can’t believe I’ve experienced it!
But will it be Flop or Future classic? The internet would have you believe the former. Critics list the many failings of the late #AMG #hypercar:
- Weight 1695 kg - too heavy for a track car.
- Same 0-200 as a 765LT, miles cheaper.
- A 0-60 of just 2.8 seconds
- £3 million, and requiring a service of 10’s of thousands every 5k, then an engine rebuild at 30k miles.
So with all its failings why did AMG make it THIS way? Food for thought. After all, the engine and format they chose meant it took them years to make the car road approved, and caused the car not to be certified for the USA customers in the end.
Instead AMG stuck at it, and forced the issue to make the #AMGONE as close to the 2016 F1 car in tech as possible. Along the way they’ve since used the same tech in upcoming vehicles like the new C43 engine, and the upcoming C63S hybrid using much of the same tech.
As it stands, the ONE is a 275 unit car at £3 million each. It’s something few of us will ever get to enjoy, but if done right stands to be a classic.
Formula 1 E Performance engine comes right out of F1 - 1.6 V6, 4 valves per cylinder
Electric exhaust turbo charger (shared with next C63) which revs to 11k! All through a tasty Titanium silencer.
The performance isn’t as simple as you’d think, the Total of 1063 BHP is made up of different parts of the system:
Combustion:- 574BHP
Front motors:- 326BHP
MGU-H :- 122BHP
MGU-K crankshaft :- 163BHP
They weren’t kidding when they said Hybrid! Much in the same way of Lewis’ car, the power comes through Various means. The resulting speed is:
0-60 2.9
0-200 km/h 7.0
0-300 km/h 15.6 s
Torque is not calculable as each part of the system produces its own amount. All that leads to the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ system.
EV moody is possible, via the 8.4kw lithium ion battery, only drives 18km in range but is so cool to listen to as you’ll see!!
As for the internals - the body is Carbon monocoque, there’s a 5 link front and rear suspension with crazy Pushrod struts transversely mounted — this allows Roll stiffness and dampening independent of heave and looks the sexiest thing ever in the process. Use Race Plus and Strat 2 modes: it lowers 37/30 mm to full attack mode! Worried about drag? Activate the F1 DRS button on the F1 steering wheel when on the straights for even more speed!
The Drive
Driving the ONE was almost an out of body experience - in that, my brain couldn't process what happened till much later on. However once it sunk in - some things really stood out - even on the GP circuit following the GT Black, there was no point where the car was at full throttle on the straight — it would have eaten up the Black Series if I tried. The gearbox was clunky and slow, reminiscent of the thud from a V10 M5 - yet it almost added to the brutality of the experience. The steering wheel and feel was perhaps the best I’ve ever experienced in a road car and the EV mode was literally the coolest sounding thing I’ve heard come alive in a car! And the engine? The absolute highlight. A visceral experience geared to overload your senses and feed your emotions as a car lover - there’s nothing that comes close to it.
Todays video will also be a tad vlog like, as I wake to give you some insight on how these Press Trips work. We bump into Chris Harris lining the AMG ONE for top gear, and you might see some bloke from Carwow.
We’ll be following AMG DTM legend Bernd Schneider in a GT Black Series. In the first laps, we have 3 highway modes to test - EV full electric, Race full combustion, and Race Safe which combines both. Then out in Race Plus and Strat 2 modes for full attack!
Today, I’m not here to tell you how it compares to a LAF, 918 or the next Hypercar of the week, I’ll leave that to everyone else - I’m here because I’m one of you guys, a driver of normal performance cars. So what’s it like to jump out of your A45, C63, AMG GT — and drive this bonkers thing? Let’s find out!

2023 Mulliner Batur - Bentley's Aggressive New Face for Future Cars & EVs!
Next-Gen Bentley Design! Huge Thanks to Ridge for sponsoring this video! Visit http://ridge.com/rbr and use code “RBR” for 10% off.
Welcome Back to RBR guys, and to an extremely Vivid preview of what every Bentley in the new generation is going to look like.
This is the 1.65 Million #Mulliner Batur coupe, the most powerful Bentley ever, at 18 units all sold out. Totally irrelevant for most of us right? But wait, don’t write off the Batur as irrelevant to us regular car folk just yet. The Batur previews the future Design direction that #Bentley will take in its soon-to-come line up of future cars, most crucially their BEV line up.
Revealed today at #carweek Monterey 2022 and Designed and built by Mulliner - oldest coach builder in the world at 250 years. They built cars like WO’s 8 Litre and the legendary R Type continental - and more recently the equally expensive and rare Bacalar - the Batter follows that same line of cars.
The Batur is the first design by new head of Design Andreas Mindt, and likely previews what a future Continental GT could look like in hybrid and EV form.
The basis of the design is the “Resting Beast Stance” like a predator about to attack. The grille is immediately identfiable as Bentley, but much larger and more upright. Within it are triangular like chevrons, called. Batur chevrons, which we will also see inside the car.
The car features an “Endless bonnet” seam through the side into the window line/greenhouse connecting the glass to the bonnet in a very unique way. The lights are typical Bentley, large and shaped not unlike Bacalar - yet slimmer and more modern. The body in general is muscular, and all of these front and side elements are modern but familiar — the rear however is a big departure from the norm. Slim rear lights, active rear spoiler, and a 3d printed set of Akrapovic tips make up a very different rear look for a Bentley.
This is one of the last cars to feature the famed W12, with it being in it’s more powerful form ever here with 740PS and 1000nm! A huge bump Vs the GT Speed’s 650 and 900. The is thanks to new software, a new intake system, upgraded turbochargers, and new intercoolers.
The rear is fairly similar if you know the GT Speed’s underpinnings - the usual 8 speed transmission, eLSD, four wheel steering, 48v electric anti roll stabilisation and adaptive air suspension.
The first BEV to use this design is due in 2025 - I theorise similar tech to the Taycan and ETron — given the platform sharing between Continental and Panamera already existing within the VAG group.
Inside the car is less revolutionary - a largely Continental interior awaits with some parts from the Bacalar. Like that car, this is a 2 seater only, here finished in black, orange and red dynamic. The Batur chevrons details are on the seats, 18k gold used in the 12’O’Clock steering band and gear selecter — and the best bit is the Laser etched sound wave in the trim miming the W12 sound profile! This and much more to show you in today’s video!

2023 Mercedes AMG C43 Wagon + Aero Pack! Full Review
Go to https://athleticgreens.com/rbr to get started on your first purchase and receive a FREE 1-year supply of Vitamin D and 5 travel packs. Thanks to Athletic Greens for sponsoring today's video!
Here’s a proper Tempting AMG Power Wagon! Welcome back to RBR guys, and I’ve covered the #C43 of the new gen a few times recently, but today we’re looking at the variant that may be the most attractive… the C43 estate/wagon/t modell/touring/family hauler!! #MercedesAMG make some of the world’s best looking and fastest wagons, so I have high hopes for this car after driving the sedan version!
The is a very different set up to the V6 3.0 big turbo engine in the previous 205 series C43 - that engine was a conventional “off the line” Mercedes Benz engine, with some AMG software, so it was an engine you’d see used in a plethora of other Mercedes cars. It did sound great, and was potent at 362 BHP, with the Facelift giving 390bhp. However it was linked to a torque convertor gearbox, inspiring chassis set up and very safe looks.
With this new generation, some things like the 4Matic and the basic design similarity to the standard New C Class still exists. BUT huge changes come else where — especially with engine!! Most assume it’s a huge downgrade going to 4 cylinders, but in reality this is more of an AMG engine than the C43 has had before. Now it uses a variation of the engine found in the new A45, but longitudinally mounted PLUS the first use of an F1 derived “E TURBO”. It’s also a “one man one engine” unit meaning it was built by hadn’t rather than being machine made! This makes the C43 a proper AMG, sharing it’s engine with only the new SL43 and future C63S hybrid.
The engine is not massively powerful, at 408BHP, less torque at 500NM and a quoted 0-60 of 4.7 - but you’ll see me do it faster!
But impressive is the world's first electric exhaust gas turbocharger, paired to a combustion engine. This is a turbo straight out of the AMG ONE hyper car and the C63S to come. Thanks to a 4cm electric motor inside the turbocharger shaft, the turbos stay spooled and ready before the Exhaust gases reach the turbos thus giving a much more responsive feel which makes the engine feel more natural! A belt starter generator gives it an additional 14HP when required too.
As for the chassis it’s all C43 unique versus normal C Class, with the proper AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with Adaptive Damping, lightweight coil springs, stabiliser bars/struts and an aluminium sheer panel on the front all to help dynamics. It also gets the brilliant AMG variable ratio steering and rear axle steering as standard, up to 2.5 degrees.
The gearbox comes from E63, the wet clutch AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9 speed - the best box AMG makes in standard cars. 4matic is as before, with a 69 bias on the rear, and of course we have AMG’s own Braking system, and AMG Performance Exhaust system augmented by “AMG Real Performance Sound” with a microphone picking up actual engine sound and feeding it inside.
The wagon has a large boot with even more space hidden under flaps in the floor, as well as the ability to split fold 3 or 2 of the seats and act as a huge luggage hauler! Our car today has the Aerodynamic Package, which on the wagon adds the front splitter extension, larger from aero flicks, a more aggressive diffuser and an additional rear spoiler — all in gloss black.
A C63 wagon will also come with an additional hybrid system on the rear boosting this system’s power to 670BHP - but will it be too heavy? We will see.
Today I want to see how the C43 wagon does vs the sedan, as well as some key rivals like the m340i. Will it have enough emotion and dynamism to keep an AMG addict happy? Let’s find out!

AMG EQE 53: Brilliant EV. Terrible AMG. //Full Review
Can #AMG convince us with this 687BHP Electric Midsize Sedan?! Welcome back to RBR guys and to the second #MercedesAMG of this new electric Era, based on the Mercedes Benz EQE sedan. Today I’ll be talking about both the EQE 53 4Matic+ and EQE 43 4matic.
Much like the normal EQE, it’s extremely similar to it’s EQS bigger Cousin. Both in design, interior and power components. Both are aimed squarely at the Tesla Model S and 3, a lot of that explains the uninspiring design choices of the one-bow design.
In terms of AMG specifics - the car features two AMG-specific electric motors - one on each axle. Both have been modified with adapted windings and laminations, higher currents and a specific AMG inverter - but still based on the Mercedes unit.
The rear one is larger - with a six phase motor, allowing for more power. Also lots of AMG specific thermal measures most notably a water lance - all done to allow for more power for the 43 and 53.
The EQE 53 has a slightly larger motor inside the rear unit, and changes in both to allow higher speed vs the 43. Otherwise, hardware very similar in both.
The battery is an interesting point. It’s a 90.6 kw battery which is smaller than the EQS, and more akin to Taycan size. Thus the range is actually very similar too - 240miles quoted to me on full charge, which is the same as my Taycan 4S. Battery behaves differently depending on if you’re looking to conserve or drive faster. So where are these aerodynamic benefits of the one-now design that Mercedes keep using as justification for the design? I’m not convinced.
As for power, the EQE 43 has a healthy 476BHP, 858NM and a 0-60 of 4.2 seconds. EQE 53 is much more powerful at 626BHP but a further 687BHP on limited overboost with a huge 950/1000NM. Launch is officially 3.3 or 3.5 seconds - but you’ll see me test it much faster.
Also - Different driving modes give different output, with comfort having the least.
The power goes to 43’s 4matic and 53’s 4matic+ all wheel drive - this is confusing because normally the plus please totally variable, but here both are totally variable. The plus now means… 53 is more dynamic? I don’t get it.
Chassis wise, we have AMG ride control plus with adaptive dampening. Basically the same as the EQS and GT 4 door - 4 link front and multi link rear, and those pressure limiting valves that make the adaptive even more accurate. AMG-specific wheel carriers, suspension links and anti-roll bars etc and a useful Rear axle steering 3.6 degrees. Brakes have the AMG I-booster marries recuperation with either steels or AMG ceramics.
Finally a big topic for today is AMG sound experience - for this they have hardware, including special speakers, a bass actuator and a sound generator +Two types of authentic or performance which comes with dynamic plus pack! I’ll test both on idle and on the move.
Weight is an issue, 43 is a porky 2525KG, and the 53 is 2655KG!! When do you think there’s only about 100 kg in between that and the EQS, that’s not much of a mid-level sedan. Also consider the weight of Porsche’s taycan turbo S is only 2380… and it’s faster and better looking; oh dear.
Today I’ll also show you a bunch of different specs, and then more crucially talk about AMG’s true electric goals, shown by the Vision AMG Concept : along with my render of what a real production version could look like!
My overarching question today is: can the EQE 53 replace both your electric car and something like the E63?? Is it AMG enough to pull this off?

A YEAR EARLY!! Collecting my New SL 55 AMG 4Matic!
Collecting the UK’s First NEW #SL!! Huge Thanks to Ridge for sponsoring this video! Visit http://ridge.com/rbr and use code “RBR” for 10% off.
#MercedesAMG have done a miracle, and for the first time in my car history I’ve received a roadster in the summer! And what a summer it is, hottest day ever in the UK to film and collect a roadster: honestly not as easy as it sounds!!
This car may become my favourite #AMG on the fleet, having now driven it… it’s a beast of a V8 engine with the perfect balance of power and tech. I’m so excited to show it to you!
My car is unique, its an SL55 Premium Package car with an interior from the “Touring Package” plus carbon fibre trim - a spec that isn’t possible now in the UK! I’ll explain more about the UK Premium and Touring packages and the options available later in the video - but essentially, because I got an early car that I didn’t spec, this happy consequence of a unique spec came to pass!
Today we’re going to start in a convoy with the R129 SL 60 belonging to 40 collection on instagram, along side T1DSO from IG and his Brabus 500 GLE 53 - and finally myself in the GT Black Series off to collect it’s brother!
I’ll unveil the car in Northampton Mercedes Benz, go over the spec which includes AMG Night pack 2, truffle brown exclusive interior, driving assistance package and more before we set off for home to go deeper into the car. We’ll have a look inside the SL 60 as well - it even has a crazy old red Nokia phone!
Once home, I’ll show you the MBUX set up assistant which is a first for me - some big surprises in how Mercedes are now making your car identity more substantial, almost like an iCloud or Google account - very impressive stuff. I’ll also show you the UK/EU exhaust of the SL55, because HOLY HELL - it sounds insane!! Both the “emotion” start up and the revs are like a car from the past. Really hope you guys enjoy this, I’m loving it and can’t wait to do the first drive, full review and then put it up against the 911 Cabriolet!
As for financing the car, as mentioned in the video, do speak to Matt at Luxe Asset Finance: he got me the 992, SL and G63 all done recently and much cheaper than the dealers, so well worth a try! Tell him RBR sent you to access his VIP deals! Contact: matt@luxeaf.co.uk

Collecting My G63 Magno Edition + My New SL 55 Arrives Early!!
Today’s AMG Collection Video is sponsored by Nord VPN! Go to https://NordVPN.com/rbr to get a great discount on a 2-year plan - and a full 30 day money back guarantee!
Hey guys welcome back to RBR and today I’m collecting one new #mercedesAMG Today and driving it back, and previewing another that will be ready for me in couple of days - this one has come mega early, and I might be the first in the world to receive one so get hyped, and look forward to a look at that later in the video!
So a bit of a garage update - my G63 is gone and the new car we’re collecting today is in fact a new G Wagon in a special edition form! I know what you’re thinking, it was only back in November I took a journey through the Graz factory, did the G Graz experience and then saw my car being built at factory - then you guys had the collection video in Feb. So less than six months, why have I replaced it so soon?! That I’ll answer today on the way to collect it. I’ve also sold my C63 S Edition 1 - a car I said I’d never sell! But hear me out - because I’m going to replace it with something called the final edition, which is being built in Bremen as we speak!
First we will drive to the dealership in my C63 Black Series - starting with a cold start and some exhaust revs to satiate you lot! :) On the way to Mercedes Northampton, I’ll explain the journey to this new G Wagon Spec - we also bump unexpectedly into @Shmee150 while stopping for a coffee/pastry break on the way - very fun!
As for the car today, it’s the #AMG #G63 Magno Edition! A special edition in the UK that’s now sold out. It gives Magno Black front bumper and arches on every spec, as well as AMG Night package 2 dethroning the G63 grille, badges, and all the stars! My choice of colour is Magno Platinum - an amazing PTS colour that sometimes looks silver, sometimes grey. Gives amazing contrast to the rest of the black details, and the red callipers. Inside I went brave - platinum white with black! Looks insane with the carbon fibre gloss trim, and the G63 carbon steering wheel.
The second car is… of course the New #SL! And as I said in almost every video I’ve gone for the SL 55 - still the V8 but less power and a few less technical parts. But should be perfect for a grand tourer!! It’s come super early, and I’ll be collecting it next on RBR.

2022 BMW i4 eDrive40! Do you REALLY need that Taycan?!
The 2022 #BMW i4 full review is sponsored by NordPass! Get an exclusive NordPass deal plus 1 additional month for FREE here:https://nordpass.com/rbr or use code'rbr'at the checkout!
Don’t you think we have too many #EV’s trying to look like Buzz Lightyear’s spaceship? Like BMW’s own IX SUV. Isn’t it great then, that BMW took a normal looking car like the 4 Series GranCoupe, ripped out the combustion engine, and shoved in their latest and greatest EV drive components from the IX and I7 into it - with almost no discernible trade off?! In a world of stupid looking EVs, the i4 is very simply a sporty BMW sedan - one with that typical focus on driving enjoyment and luxury - that just happens to be electric, with good range.
Our car today is a Brooklyn Grey BMW G26 i4 eDrive40 M Sport with #BMWM Sport Pro Package - the longest name they could think of for the entry level RWD gran coupe. Today I’ll explain what powers both the edrive40 and the i4 M50, and then we’ll see how the car drives and if it truly is the electric bimmer we’ve been waiting for.
Now what they’ve done to electrify a 4 series? Amazingly the body in white is the same as our standard 4 Series, it doesn’t use the fancy aluminium space frame with “Carbon Cage” that the IX uses. Like the IX and new I7 - It features BMW’s 5th Generation E Drive technology. This unit combines electric motor, power electronics and transmission in one unit - this saves space and gives far improved power output given it’s size. Unlike most EVs like the Taycan or Mercedes models which use the same basic principle of Permanently Excited Electric Motors - The i4 uses an electrically excited motor, so doesn’t require rare earths in order to use magnets, and BMW says the power density is thus also high.
This all runs by a single speed transmission in the same housing, and a 83.9KW battery at the heart — one shared by both variants of this car. Overall they both have a lower centre of gravity than the 3 Series, helping negate some of that extra weight. FYI, it weighs in at 2122KG, almost identical to the RWD Taycan.
Our eDrive40 is Pure RWD - with one of those motors on the rear. It produces 340 BHP all made by the rear motor, with 430NM and a slow sprint to 60 of 5.5 seconds. More crucially, 365miles WLTP range - which we measure in reality of 320miles.
The I4 M50 has xdrive, so has an additional motor on the front, producing 255, and a less powerful rear motor with 308. Making altogether a potent 544 BHP! Torque is a massive 795NM and the overboots allows a launch control of 3.7 seconds; range way less at 318 miles WLTP. The Xdrive system adds weight, at 150KG more - 2276KG. Also, that figure is only temporary in Sport Boost mode, with the normal figure being less at 476BHP.
For the suspension, we have specific chassis tech for the i4 with an aluminium sheer panel and multiple struts and our front axle subframe with a fixed connection to the battery case. to help with rigidity, and the M50 get an additional aluminium brace between the front suspension too. The i4 has Steel springs on the front AND air suspension as standard on the rear.
Our car today has the M Sport Pro Pack which gives all the best goodies of the M50, like adaptive M suspension, variable steering, and M sport brakes - meaning we’ll get to see the best of what the eDrive40 has to offer! IB integrated brake system as we saw on the M3. Helps both brake feel and stopping power and can recoup energy at up to 195KW too.
Iconic Sounds is standard, by Hans Zimmer - will show you the comfort and sport sounds, as well as start up/turn off. Some good work here by BMW. On design: It’s funny how BMW is the company that can make the ugly IX, can also make a totally normal looking EV! I’m glad it exists. Will compare it to the m440i, show you the i4 m performance parts and what a future M4 Electric car could look like!
So, this i4 is 63K as spec’d - the 430i Gran Coupe is just over £50,000, but has way less power at 242bhp. The Taycan, much more at 20K plus! Does this car do everything we need from a modern sports sedan ev? Let’s find out today!!

2023 C43 First Drive with Mr AMG! Less or More AMG than Before??
The Daily AMG that’s easy to Love! Welcome back to RBR and the new Generation of #AMG C Classes are now here! The top dog C63 will headline it, and we’ll talk about that later, but first we get to hear, drive and experience the new #C43 4Matic by #MercedesAMG out here in France!
For some background, the w202 was the first ever C Class model range, and the first AMG to be built at factory rather than reappropriated was the C43 AMG. Not like today’s entry levels of the same name, this was a 4.3 V8. The V8 tradition started here continued in the 55 that followed and then the 63s we all know - but the next 43 came a few gens later, in the 205. It had a V6 3.0 big turbo engine that was made by Mercedes Benz and a conventional non-AMG auto box. That was also found in numerous other non-AMGs. That engine did 362 BHP, 0-60 in around 4.7 seconds.
The Facelift gave 390bhp and more AMG DNA in terms of styling - AMG starting to take the 43s more seriously. But not that seriously. MB engine, mild adjustments to suspension, standard torque converter 9 speed!
With the 206, AMG changed everything, which means a much improved car over the standard C. Where most think the engine is a downgrade, the truth is it’s MORE AMG than ever. Yes the old one was a bigger V6, but it can be be found on tonnes of non-AMGs.
This C43 instead shares it’s engine with the A45S - the car that beat the compact car Nurburgring record with the world’s most powerful 4 cylinder engine! The C43 uses the M139L aka a Longitudinal mounted version of that A45 engine. This is also the first time we have had a “one man one engine” built unit in a C43, and this makes the car a full-fat AMG. Unlike the last 43, it only shares this engine with the SL43 and future C63.
This is the world's first engine to have an E-Turbo, or an electric exhaust gas turbocharger.
It’s tech straight out of the Mercedes-AMG ONE - there is a 4cm electric motor inside the turbocharger shaft between the turbine and compressor wheel which spools the turbos before the Exhaust gas ever has a chance too, making the engine way more responsive throughout all rev ranges! It also gets an additional 14HP from the RSG - belt starter generator.
It’s not hugely more powerful at 408BHP, less torque at 500NM and a quoted 0-60 of 4.6/7 - but we test it to be much faster!
Everything else is Furthermore, it gets the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with Adaptive Damping - managing damping at each wheel independently. It also has lightweight coil springs and stabiliser bars, a large Strut across the front suspension, and an aluminium sheer panel on the front - and the best bit, AMG variable ratio steering paired to rear axle steering of up to 2.5 degrees!!
Then we have the AMG 4Matic all wheel drive which is identical to the previous car. It has a a 31/69 rear biased split. It also gets the gearbox from the E63, the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G with wet multi-disc clutch. Standard AMG Braking system, Carrie’s over as does the AMG Performance Exhaust system. With this you get more in the cabin with “AMG Real Performance Sound”, with actual engine sound from the exhaust system fed into the interior.
As for the NEXT 2023 C63 - I’m could have 670BHP from a P3 Hybrid system. I will explain how system works by adding an electric motor and performance batteries to the C43 set up, part developed by High Performance Powertrains (HPP) Formula 1.
But today is all about the C43: with the V6 gone, will it be entirely enough to be an AMG? Will the car also be dynamic enough given the weight of the W206? Let’s find out!

2023 BMW M3 Touring! The World's Fastest Wagon! First Look
The World’s Fastest Wagon is here! Huge thanks to Ridge for sponsoring this video! Visit http://ridge.com/rbr and use code “RBR” for 10% off.
Finally BMW made the M3 into a Touring: The M Car concept that was never made, and the only fully #BMW M performance wagon/estate you can buy! The Touring is only available as a Competition XDrive, and is not a limited number model.
#BMWM Have really gone out on the new #M3touring with just the doors shared with a standard 3 series Touring, unlike rivals like the C63 which have the same body work on the rearm this is more like the RS6! The rest of the M3 DNA is present, with the huge grille, we have huge front arches, 4 series lights, wheels staggered — though no sunroof or carbon roof available!!
Same story on power: the S58 3-litre straight-six twin turbo engine, in the Touring Competition XDrive gives 510 BHP and a slightly slower 0-60 of 3.7seconds -Torque the same at 650NM, and the same 8-speed MSteptronic gearbox. The reason for the lower speed? Weight!
The manual car is almost the same as old at 1670, the M4 CSL is lighter at 1625, and finally our Standard Automatic car sits at 1730, and xDrive is 50kg more. The Touring is a whole 90kg more, hence the difference! Despite this, it’s the worlds fastest wagon on the Nurburgring at 7:35 beating the E63S wagon!!
The XDrive has the RWD drift mode: it uses an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch in the transfer case. Thus of course, you get 3 traction modes including RWD only.
Along with the adaptive Msuspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers — the REAR BRACE was changed for the touring to be lower down due to the boot. The goal of M engineers, to have the exact same performance as the sedan including rigidity.
The design is amazing. That side profile is something that’s so aggressive and when you compare it to something like a direct rival like the C 63 S current Wagon where AMG were lazy with it & thought it was just enough to add a diffuser and pipes - BMW M have not done that and instead they gave us instead a totally unique rear end.
Inside was a big surprise! LCI 3 series interior is gifted to the M3 touring. That means the whole new dash with huge IX /7 series style screen but with with BMW M specific menus. If you’re wondering why it’s not a facelift : As the 4 series hasn’t been facelifted, and the M3 relies on that car’s front, the facelift won’t come for a while.
Loads to show you! E46 M3 touring, VFX of the internals, compares directly to M3 sedan and normal 3er touring… enjoy guys!!

UK/EU SL 63 is LOUD! Full Review of AMG’s most exciting car!
The Loud Exhaust of the UK/EU Specification SL 63 is to die for! Welcome back to RBR guys and to the #mercedesAMG saviour, our new #SL, still providing us #AMG nut cases the emotion we thrive on. Last time the rain of California ruined half the driving experience, but this time we are in Nice in France, and it’s the perfect weather to sample both the sunshine and some exhaust noise!
But it’s not just about noise, the new SL is a whole new vehicle created by AMG alone just like the SLS and GT. But, not one single component is shared with the previous SL or GT Roadster. Instead it has a whole new body shell which uses intelligent material composition of aluminium, steel, magnesium and fibre for rigidity. In typical modern AMG fashion much is done for rigidity such as aluminium panels on the bottom of the body, and struts on the front and rear. The result is a more rigid car than the AMG GT roadster.
BUT you also have a car with MBUX, the new screen from the S Class and a tonne of luxury comfort, even massaging seats and HUD - much like the S63 coupe and Cabriolet of the past! Pair all that to a new 2+2 layout and it stands to be an epic car.
The V8 bi turbo from the AMG GT returns, the SL 63 has 577BHP and a 0-60 of 3.6 seconds thanks to the fully variable 4Matic plus and the 9 speed MCT wet clutch from the E63. We’ll check out the ride, as the SL 63 gets adaptive ride control suspension, and rear axle steering up to 2.5 degrees PLUS limited slip differential as standard.
The roof returns to fabric top like the 300SL, so it now gets a lighter z-fold roof with three layer with noise insulation and a heated rear screen - the cherry on top is that it’s 21kg lighter than SL hard top vario! We will see how quiet it is in the interior today.
Today we’re gonna see what the car drives like with the roof on and off to compare, launch control it, and check out the all important EU and UK spec exhaust system!
It’s AMG’s most important car going forward, I’ve myself also ordered an SL55, and I’ll tell you why I picked this in the video!

2023 GLC Mercedes Benz SUV! New Generation First Look!
The All New GLC 2023 X254 Model is here! Thanks to Ridge for sponsoring this video! Visit http://ridge.com/rbr and use code “RBR” for 10% off.
The hugely popular #GLC now sits as #MercedesBenz’s best selling model across the entire range, beating the C Class at over a quarter of a mil sales in just 2021! It had humble beginnings, in the original small Mercedes’ SUV was the GLK, a boxy small ML that never saw the light of day in some territories like the UK. The design was an amalgamation of some ML and some G - a trick the GLB now uses. However as the demand for mid-size SUVs began to heavily spike Mercedes realised they had to up their game, so they created a new car wholly based on their best selling car - the C Class 205 - and named it the GLC. The AMG version sitting as the flagship, of course has a knock on effect on sales too, with the low wide and V8 powered SUV holding the title for fastest SUV on the ring for many years during its tenure.
The new one carries the same formula of close relation to the new #mercedes C Class. That’s immediately obvious on first look. It shares the new MRA2 platform with the C and S class, one that’s been optimised for electrification and dynamics.
Like the C - there are some basic things you need to understand about every model of the new GLC. They’re all hybrid in some way, they’re all 4wd as standard, most will use 4 cylinder engines - yes even the AMGs that I’ll show you in a minute - BUT unlike the C, the GLC will get a 6 cylinder later.
The hybrid element at minimum features to ISG or integrated starter generator, between engine and gearbox, providing immediate 200nm torque and a bit of horsepower before the combustion engine takes over. 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is standard equipment in all GLC models.
Our GLC 300E plug in that we are looking at today gives - 333 hp, 750 Nm, 61miles range!! It has a 31kw battery packaged better in the rear boot than the predecessor, and a permanently excited internal rotor synchronous motor - which gives 440 Nm torque.
The suspension is a new four-link front set up, with a multi-link rear. It has improved ride quality and and you can also get the Airmatic suspension with active dampening, this comes along with rear axle steering for the first time, of up to 4.5 degrees - more than C class!
As for the body, It’s 6cm longer, with 3 of that going to the boot space, and the rest is the same as the predecessor. It’s more aerodynamic, which is a good achievement for a big car when it looks similar, and brings a tonne of changes on the outside in both Avantgard and AMG Line, with the later even getting painted arches. Options like DIGITAL LIGHT (like S Class) and massive heads up display are available, and there’s a party trick called the “invisible bonnet” which will take the safety game forward for off roading, allowing you to see what’s under the car when in off-road mode.
Will there be a Coupe? Will there be a new EQC? We will have to see, but AMG versions are coming for sure. The first will be the GLC 43 4Matic. Undoubtedly like the C43, it’ll have an M139L engine with an electric exhaust gas turbocharger, 408BHP, 500 NM and a 0-60 starting 5 I think. Aesthetics likely limited to grille, exhaust and wheels on the outside. With the GLC 63 4Matic, gone will be the V8, instead it’ll likely have the same C63 P3 hybrid system with the M139 engine attached to the amg performance battery etc. Good for over 600 BHP peak power, can it achieve the dynamic accolades of the previous car though? I’m unconvinced.
Today though, we will focus on the basic details of this new GLC series, along with the boot space, interior tech and comfort and all the changes brought to this whole new generation!

IT'S FINALLY HERE! The AMG ONE Hypercar! First Look with Mr.AMG!
MY2022 AMG ONE - Never would have thought it would be 5 years later after the release and MY2022 being the year for AMG ONE’s release after the Project ONE was first shown at IAA 2017. But #MercedesAMG have come good on their claims, and the F1 derived #AMGONE is finally ready for customers. Just 275 units, around £3 million each, it’s the ultimate flagship and today we get our first look at it!
The headline is the Formula 1 E Performance - this is the engine from Lewis Hamilton’s 2016 #F1 car! It’s the exact same 1.6 V6 engine, with 4 valves per cylinder. It revs to 11,000, requires rebuild at 30k miles, but that’s only one part of the story. There is also an Electric exhaust turbo charger (shared with next C63) aka the MGU-H, electric motors on the front, and an MGU K also from F1.
These all hybridised together give Performance Total of 1063 BHP!! Love the 63 number in there. The breakdown is as follows:
F1 V6 Combustion:- 574BHP
Front motors:- 326BHP
MGU-H :- 112BHP
MGU-K crankshaft :- 163BHP
AMG ONE’s 0-60 of 2.9 isn’t super impressive, but the 0-200 km/hof 7.0 and 0-300 km/h of 15.6 s really show the car’s insane speed. This power flows to a New 7 speed automated manual, integrated into body in white. This is a 4 disc carbon racing clutch, with Shift Rods and clutch controlled hydraulically. Gear ratios minimise the power difference after upshifting to keep the engine at high revs (no turbo lag) - it has a Integrated limited-slip differential! All so different to your typical AMG.
There is a small 8.4kw lithium ion battery, with just 18km range, but the same tech basis as the next C63. And just like the C63 it has Liquid cooling of cells individually.
AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive with hybrid-driven rear axle, electrically driven front axle and torque vectoring - not too dissimilar to our normal cars.
Bodywork
Carbon monocoque with integrated high-strength-steel roll bar
Carbon body - front and rear ends, doors and front/rear bonnets
• Grid tube frame (in skeleton structure) for engine and chassis mounting - partially made of titanium
Chassis is super sexy in this car, as is the suspension. We have a 5 link front and rear suspension, but the best part is the Pushrod struts transversely mounted - they look amazing and allow Roll stiffness and dampening independent of heave. Amazingly we still get Suspension options range from Comfort all the way to sport +!
Front axle can be raised in normal modes too, but the best party trick is the AMG ONE Track mode : In Race Plus and Strat 2 modes: it lowers 37/30 mm to full attack mode!!
There’s tonnes of aero which links to a DRS SYSTEM just like F1, and I’ll explain all of that as we get inside. We also have 6 Driving programmes, all RACE based! Race Safe, Race, EV and Individual are your normal modes. Then Race Plus and Strat 2 - track only!
Inside we have the amazing F1 style steering wheel with Pit button, DRS button, and so much more. Then we have the AMG Motorsport bucket seats, integrated in carbon monocoque. Steering wheel electrically and pedal box mechanically adjustable just like race cars too. And a tonne of unique features I’ll dive in and show you!

2023 AMG C43 4Matic + Aero Pack! First Look with Mr.AMG!
Welcome back to RBR and to the first #AMG in the C Class series! Here is everything that makes up the new #MercedesAMG #C43 4Matic, and it’s not insignificant. I gave this car NO credit when it was released because it was dropping the V6 for a 4 cylinder, but holy hell was I wrong!! No one has actually understood what AMG have made here. It’s more of an AMG than the last one by a factor of 10!
But don’t worry, I’ll take you through all the changes AMG have made vs the previous model, and what clues this gives us to future AMG models including the upcoming C63 without a V8!
I’ll also show you both the sedan and the wagon in a real world setting, here at Affalterbach, the home of AMG and Driving Performance! So let’s dive deep into the new AMG C43!
I had a lot of complaints with the normal C Class, which I found to be neither sporty nor comfortable. With the C43, it seems as always AMG has tinkered with almost everything, which will mean a much improved car over the standard C. But that means lots to unpack here.
The BIG BIG news is the new Engine, but I’ll come to this last. First and more importantly of all is the chassis. The C43 features the AMG RIDE CONTROL steel-spring suspension with Adaptive Damping System - controlling damping at each wheel. We also have lightweight coil springs and stabiliser bars front and back. There’s a large Strut across the front suspension, and an aluminium sheering panel on the front which the predecessor doesn’t have - mimicking the use in the A45S.
AMG’s three stage steering is here, which gives variable steering geometry ratio depending on driving mode, from sportier to more relaxed. Far more crucially, we now have rear axle steering of up to 2.5 degrees.
Then we have the AMG 4Matic all wheel drive system, this is identical to the previous car with a 31/69 rear biased split. My only disappointment, would have loved to have seen a fully variable 4matic plus system here.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G with wet multi-disc clutch - same gearbox as you’d find in the E63, which we found to be bloody good.
More obvious are the AMG Braking system, 370 and 320mm in silver. Of course the AMG Performance Exhaust system is here - and get’s more emotive in the sportier modes. They also added more sound into the cabin with “AMG Real Performance Sound”, and AMG says “The actual engine sound is picked up by a sensor in the exhaust system and fed into the interior for a particularly emotive sound experience.” Pretty cool!
First time we have had a 20” set up on any C Class sedan/saloon, previously only on rear of the coupe. Looks flipping amazing. 19’s available too as you can see on our Estate.
Now the engine. This M139L is HAND BUILT ONE MAN ONE ENGINE power plant! This is the first time we have had a “one man one engine” power plant in a modern C43, and this elevates the car well beyond the previous to a full-fat AMG, a relative of the A45 almost!
This M139L engine debuted in the SL43. And now here in the C43. Now the headline figures: 408BHP, 500nm and 4.6 0-60. Then an additional 14HP from the RSG - belt starter generator. This is the world's first series-production engine to be turbocharged with an electric exhaust gas turbocharger - technology straight from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, that’ll later see use in the C63.
The M139 as we know from A45 is longitudinal here, and is a closed deck design engine with sophisticated cooling and coating strategies from F1 and AMG V8’s.
So, not a single thing left from the Mercedes Benz car. A more AMG engine with the one man one engine unit, vs the last car, and more AMG hardware too.

2022 Mercedes C-Class - C300 AMG Line Premium Full Review!
Welcome back to RBR, and to the C Class, aka the Baby Benz, #MercedesBenz most popular model with almost 11 million units shifted since the 201’s introduction in 1982. The new W206 model is a reborn #Luxury car with swathes of tech stolen from the recently released S Class.
By the way: Big thanks to Gokhan at “TheAMGLounge” Youtube Channel for helping with Driving shots, and the car from Mercedes Benz Slough Vertu dealership!! :) His channel:
https://www.youtube.com/c/TheAMGLounge
This car is the first classic model series by #Mercedes to be 100% electrified in some manner, with ever car featuring a basic hybrid set up in the minimum, and then the full plug in hybrid models. It’s also a completely 4 cylinder family, including the upcoming AMGs as we’ve all heard.
Today I get my first drive in a C300 petrol AMG Line, Premium UK spec. I’ll also take you through a trip in the past as we look at every C Class before this, then see what makes the new car tick, along with a drive!
The history of the Baby Benz is super important and the story begins with a car that wasn’t called a C Class, the W201. It was this baby Benz that was the first to bring the lauded Benz quality and luxury to the compact saloon segment. Much like our recent cars, it took cues from the then 2nd generation S Class down to a new compact segment. It brought innovations, the main being the first small saloon with a Multi link rear bringing cornering stability at a time when the E30 had a semi-trailing arm setup. It spawned the infamous DTM with the 2.5-16 4 valve engine set up, the performance version better known as the Cosworth, a car a young Ayrton Senna used to outgun seasoned champions on the ring and later forge his career.
The next was the first C Class of it’s name. Carrying forward the same ethos of the 201, it was barely larger but brought far more space for the passengers along with safety innovations like standard airbags. This gen gave us our first in house AMGs ever, with the 36, 43 and bonkers special order C55. It was also the first time we had the estate!
203 came and grew the line up to include estate and weird 2 door hatch: to better battle an equally weird BMW. Then 204 - peak C Class? I’d argue that’s a place shared by both this and the successor 205. It was also peak AMG, with the axe murderer 6.2 true C63 rearing it’s nasty looking head.
205 was a series I think we’ll look back at as one of the greats. Yes it had styling heavily borrowed from S Class, but the quality and shape of the interior looks modern even today, enough to knock spots off the current 3 Series if you ask me. 100kg lighter, 360 cams, driver assistance tech, ambient lighting, so much to make it a do everything car. It was a scary time for AMG fans as this was the turbo charging gen, but we got the greatest driving C63 ever in the S model coupe.
Our New W206 is based on much of the same MRA platform as the 205, called MRA2, just heavily modified for the future of electrification. The car has grown in length by 2.5 inches, but is shorter in height.
As every C is hybridised in some way, they run on a 48v system plus ISG throughout all the petrol and diesel models. This system gives immediate power of 20 BHP and 200nm and 27bhp of overboost. The 9 speed transmission has been revised to work with the hybrid system, and the 4MATIC has been advanced to allow higher torque levels. Finally we also have rear wheel steering of up to 2.5 degrees. Though, this c300 weighs in at 1675KG, a good 100kg heavier than the last gen, and you can take that across the board.
Our car today is a 2.0-litre C 300 which has 254bhp, and 6.0s 0-60. Popular will be the C 220d, a hybrid 2.0-litre diesel with 220bhp. Then the Proper Plugin Hybrid C300E with 68miles range.
Today we’ll also check out the design of the AMG line car, both inside and out! But will the C still be great value for money as a mini luxury car? And does it still do the luxury job properly? Let’s find out!
Up next on on RBR is the new C43 AMG review! And the AUDI RS3 review + MUCH MUCH More!! Subscribe to support us and see them first. :)

New BMW M4 CSL - The Fastest M Car Ever!
1000 Units ONLY for the fastest M Car ever! Huge Thanks to Ridge for sponsoring this video! Visit http://ridge.com/rbr and use code “RBR” for 10% off.
So, #BMW says this is the fastest #BMWM since it was founded exactly 50 years ago. It’s limited to 1000 units world-wide, BMW M4 CSL will lap the Nürburgring faster than any BMW M before it. Today I’ll show you everything they have done to achieve this, and we’ll salivate together over every little detail!
I’m so happy a new #M4CSL is finally here. That name “Coupe Sport Leichtbau” links right back to BMW’s origins with the 3.0 CSL Batmobile. An extremely successful race car that cemented BMW Motorsport as a tour de force, and provided the origins of the famous three colour livery, alongside our 50 Year BMW M logo being used on all new M Cars this year including this CSL. It formed the foundation of the the M story - a lighter, more driver focused, stripped out car. A clear predecessor to this.
Many limited edition cars followed the formula it set. The direct predecessors to our car start from the first E30 M3’s special Sport evolution model, leading on to historic cars like the E46 CSL, and M3 GTS/M4 GTS limited cars.
The new CSL carries the theme of all the predecessors forward. First, like the others it’s limited to 1000 units. Next the necessary power bump, the S58 engine now gives 550bhp, the same torque of 650 and a quoted 0-60 of 3.8 secs, and 200 km/h after 11.5 secs.
As a reminder, the S58 is a powerful 3-litre straight-six twin turbo engine, partly 3D printed to reduce weight. It has a Lightweight crankshaft, Forged pistons, a closed deck construction with a slightly larger bore and shorter stroke, and thus revs a bit higher to 7250 RPM.
Of course, It’s exclusively rear-wheel drive, and uses the same 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, but apparently heavily modified to provide faster shifts than the old GTS, and a more pronounced shift
Most crucially, it’s the lightest of the current generation M3/M4 cars, even the manual - Weighing 1625kg! That’s a 100KG diet vs the M4 Competition.
* -24kg - Full bucket seats:
* -21kg - Elimination of 2nd row of seats, optimisation of luggage compartment
* -21kg - Carbon ceramics, wheel incl. Cup2R, springs, precision strut)
* -15kg - elimination of sound insulation, elimination of PVC, conversion to "light" PVC
* -11kg - CFRP exterior/interior - CFRP front/tailgate, CFRP Miko, CFRP splitter added
* -4kg - Titanium rear silencer
* -4kg - Misc - kidney, laser rear light, elimination of floor mats, elimination of automatic air conditioning
The suspension is 9mm lower and we have more Negative camber on the front, and of course finally all elastokenematics, spring and dampener rates have been adjusted and the adaptive 3 stage suspension remains active.
Today’s car is Brooklyn grey satin, but you can also get it in Alpine white and Black - and remove the red details. Things like climate control, and the car’s alarm need to be added! While things like harmon kardon and driving assistance are not available at all - which is pretty wild. Cup 2’s come standard, with Michelin 4S optional.

IT’S HERE! Collecting my 911 Carrera GTS 992 from Porsche!
The ultimate every day 911?! That’s what I’m hoping! It’s #NewCar Day and today I collect my 911 992 Carrera 2 #GTS from #Porsche Centre Reading. I spec’d it with you guys in the last video, but it’s actually a car I ordered almost a year ago, since which I’ve driven the GTS on multiple occasions including the lightweight pack in Spain, 4WD, RWD, Targa and more. The last video convinced of it’s brilliance, but luckily I was not far away from delivery! Last video with the 4 GTS: https://youtu.be/w1Rdf9D0_S0
Today in usual RBR Porsche collection tradition, we will check out the awesome press cars at HQ, from a berry GT4, all the way to a Ruby Star GT3 and even some classics like the G model Turbo 911 and Super 90! Then I’ll fill you in on the changes coming to all Porsche centres worldwide, starting in the UK at the Reading HQ.
Then finally, the unveil of my car including a full spec run down of what I chose for my 992 GTS, as there are so many options to choose from! Some nicer ones, in particular, are the high gloss black trim package, GTS interior package with red finish, carmine red dials and then I add my own flair to the spec with some choice livery and the black rear arch protection foils for 992.
A really important factor for me with 911, is family. So I’ll also talk about getting a baby seat in the 992, and which baby pram I recommend, the one shown in the video which fits in the 911 frunk is the Recaro Easylife Elite 2 - https://www.recaro-kids.uk/easylife-elite-2.html
As for financing the car, as mentioned in the video, do speak to Matt at Luxe Asset Finance: he got me a deal that was £4-500 cheaper per month than the dealer offer, so well worth a try! Tell him RBR sent you to access his VIP deals! Contact: matt@luxeaf.co.uk
Much more to come with the GTS on the channel! A full review of living with the car in a performance setting and with family is to come.

Porsche Taycan GTS Sport Turismo! The Sports EV you NEED!
This video is sponsored by The Ridge Wallet Company! Visit http://ridge.com/rbr and use code “RBR” for 10% off!
How on Earth can you merge the emotional brilliance of the Raw GTS brand, into an Electric car like #Taycan, that’s one difficult task, but one #Porsche have apparently achieved…In this! The new Taycan GTS, here in the all new Sport Turismo Variant. Not to be confused with the slightly easier riding, more off road focused CROSS Turismo. The Sport is identical in it’s driving behavior to the sportier saloon, just with more junk in that beautiful trunk!
And in the GTS, it’s the sexiest looking Taycan ever made. Taycan family has grown, like Asian families, we’ve probably got excited and popped out one too many. But the GTS is always that one kid of yours who is the family athlete, a proper chip off the old block.
But how on Earth do you achieve that with an EV? Today we will explore this question. This car slots inbetween a Taycan 4S, which has 490BHP (571 overboost), 0-60 of 4.0 seconds. Torque of 650NM and a Taycan Turbo which has 625PS (680 overboost) and a 0-60 of 3.2.
The GTS has 517PS, 598 overboost, and Torque sits at 850NM, which is the same figure as our Turbo! And a 0-60 of 3.7 seconds (which I will test in a minute!). So it sounds like a 4S, but with a considerable injection of power and speed in every driving situation.
Now let’s check out what’s actually different, because it would suck if this was a mere software update! Now all 4WD Taycans have two Permanent magnet synchronous electric motors, or PSMs. They also have a 600-amp pulse inverter which is our motor on the rear, and a 2 speed gearbox.
First gear is mainly used in Sport or Sport Plus driving modes. Launch Control is also available in these modes. The transmission remains in first gear for a relatively long time, then shifts into second gear with a shift overboost.
The Taycan 4S, has a 300 amp inverter in the front and a 600 amp on rear. It’s rear motor, the most important one, is shorter at 130MM. This makes it a bit lighter than our turbos The Taycan Turbo S also has a 300 amp inverter on the front and a 600 amp one on the rear, but it’s rear motor is longer, at 210MM.
The same is true of our GTS, so it’s not an uprated 4S, but more of a detuned Turbo. That means its heavier than the 4S, closer to turbo, but the torque drive of the longer motor will mean it feels different to a 4S driver like me.
The adaptive air suspension, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), is specifically adapted to the GTS, to the benefit of the lateral dynamics. The set-up of the optional rear-axle steering is also even sportier. The richer sound pattern of the modified Porsche Electric Sport Sound underscores the character of the new GTS model. Finally: The Sport Chrono Package, is fitted as standard. The Sport mode has also been designed to be even more dynamic, compared to other Taycan models.
Design-wise it gets Sport Designbody as standard, with Taycan Turbo trim details, and High-Gloss Black painted inserts everywhere including the light strip with the Porsche logo in Black. The new RS Spyder Design comes with 21-inch wheels, also available exclusively to the GTS in Satin Black - they’re the best Taycan Wheels ever.
Interior is the usual GTS mission of as much Race-Tex as possible with the Sport Chrono package - but the highlight of the interior is the roof. The new panoramic roof with Light Control has an electric glare protection as a special large glass surface is divided into nine sections that can be individually controlled. This means there is the option to not only turn the entire roof transparent or opaque but also individual segments or patterns!!
But in my last video, I found my 4S to be almost perfect. Can Porsche's #Supercar GTS convince me to buy it?
