2023 Audi RS6 Long Term Review - Perhaps I Treated you Harshly?!

The #Audi #RS6 is an legend of the auto industry, not because it links to #AudiSport’s origins in their original fast estate RS2, most people don’t even know - but rather, because it’s grown a reputation of being a supercar disguised as a mild mannered estate. If you ask joe-public what their ideal super wagon is, 9 times out of 10 they’ll say the RS6, because there’s no wagon that looks meaner or allegedly goes faster. But truth be told when I last drove it 2 years ago — I was left a little cold. Spending a week with it, I found it to be slower than rivals, less engaging, and not as emotional. And my conclusion was that Joe Public sadly got it wrong, and this is a car overhyped…
Fast forward to this year and I get an email from Audi Press offering the car to me as a long term loaner, and as you can imagine despite my opinion, I’ve never replied to an email faster — The typical car reviewer one week loan is great for zeroing in on single topics like out and out performance, but sometimes you can really miss the whole story!
Now that I’ve had a chance to live with the car, a revisit was definitely in order! Not only on living with it as a daily, but also reflecting on the huge changes in the landscape of the car industry over the last 2 years.There are also some super important new models coming in this range of cars too from Audi Sport, including a long awaited M5 rival - so we’ll also go over what Audi’s plans are for the future of the RS6 and their Avant range!
This C8 RS6, will likely be the last RS6 combustion car of its name. Yes you heard me right, and why that is I’ll explain shortly. The car itself is one designed without compromise — ignoring the front door and boot - the entire car gets a unique wide body. With the famous huge wheel arches, flared by 4cm! That’s more than half the battle won, and why people ignore people like me, and love it so much in general.
This base RS6 produces 592BHP and 800NM, and 0-60 in 3.6. It’s crazy how in only two years, these figures seem light compared to a lot of EVs. That goes to a Permanent Quattro all wheel drive, a now aged system which is not fully variable like most rivals, giving a maximum rear shift of power of 85%. This is quite a basic car, with the standard RS adaptive air suspension - which is nice as it will give us an idea of what a reasonable spec is like to live with.,
As for the future beyond this - a two pronged attack is planned for the A6 range. Firstly a facelift is due to this generation of combustion A6, where we’ve spotted an RS6 Sedan, or rather RS7 Sedan! We haven’t had one of those since the C6. It looks to have the wide arches of the avant and essential the same front end, and should be sold along side the RS7 avant.
After this in the new generation ALL combustion models will have odd numbers: so the A6 will be renamed the A7, and A4 becomes A5. This means the A6, will return but as an Etron in both sedan and avant looking like the concept. And Audi Sport confirmed to Top Gear Mag, that an RS6 E Tron is coming, they showed the design to a 1000 of their managers, and there was mass applause!
Now in terms of liveability - this car had plenty of rivals just in my own house, with the taycan ST and E63S. But the Audi equits itself well, easily eclipsing the EV for boot and rear passenger space - being especially roomy for the toddler. I moved house during this period, and you can’t imagine how useful the car was for pure shifting duties, or bring back stacks of IKEA purchases.
But the biggest draw was the emotion, in terms of both looks and performance. Let’s see how it got in!

Taycan ST 4S Full Review + Porsche’s TWO New EVs coming this year!!
The BEST Taycan Variant is the Sport Turismo - and this 4S might be the Goldilocks car - combining the sportiness of the sports sedan, with the practicality and good looks of the Cross Turismo, in this amalgamated Sport Turismo. A low slung, super wagon EV, that is in my estimation the best looking of the bunch!
Any why not more variants? #Taycan accounts for over 10% of all #Porsche Sales now, and that’s worldwide which is impressive - just in 2023’s first quarter it outsold German rivals and for the first time outsold the Model S. And we aren’t only getting more variants, two of Porsche’s best sellers are turning full #electriccar with the Macan EV and the 718 electric/ Boxster EV - and I’ll fill you in on those in this video!
Today we’re going to test the ST on the road, show you the shocking 0-60 time, and I’ll give you every detail on what makes the car what it is including the most asked question of - what the heck is the difference between this and the CT - along with my experience living with the car for the past 6 months!
So far I’ve done over 6000 miles in my 4S, as I have been so addicted, it even shames my E63S in some regards. I’ll dive into some ownership experience, loved/hated, advice etc.

I’m an AMG Convert: Collecting my Perfect M3 Touring from BMW M!
My Perfect #BMW M3 Touring arrives! 😈 Welcome back to RBR and it’s #NewCar day guys! Having owned over a dozen C63 AMGs, this would normally be when I would consider buying the new one —But I don’t think I’ll be getting a 4 cylinder hybrid anytime soon, after my review of that car!
My journey to the M3 Touring started back when I was involved in the car’s first Teaser video in the “M Town Drop” - with BMW CEO Marcus famously sitting in the boot, I got to see the car very early on! Despite having the E63 Wagon and Taycan ST in the house — this car was compelling enough to bring into the RBR fleet.
The spec of totally unexpected for me too - I had originally spec’d the typical Frozen Grey look with red interior, as shown in the press car — but a friend’s M3 inspired me to go totally balls to the wall! 🤓 I’ve chosen the individual colour of Aventurine Red Metallic, alongside the Silverstone and Black two tone interior. I also spec’d up the “Ultimate Pack” in the UK, which gives you the epic carbon buckets along with a host of other options.
FYI: I’ll be going through every UK package in the video too including the technology plus pack, comfort pack, and M Pro Package.
I’m collecting the car today from BMW Berry in Croydon, South London, with the infamous “TRL” Tony Lewis! 2024 New BMW 5 Series G60! Petrol, Diesel and Electric i5! - First Look

Here is the new G60 generation #BMW #5Series, and it’s a massive leap forward for #The5. Now offered for the first time ever as a pure electric car, alongside combustion engine variants, and in future plug in hybrids.
Today I’ve got two versions to show you, the entry level i5 eDrive40 and the range topping M60 Xdrive, both EV offerings - but don’t fret, the combustion cars actually look nigh on identical, so I’ll fill you in fully on those too! I’ll also show you the big changes inside inspired by the 7 Series, and then we’ll talk future models including the next M5!
The 8th Generation of 5 Series is the first to be fully Electric, and instead of the Mercedes route of having combustions and hybrids in one style, and EVs with their own - BMW is doing it the right way, with unified design, regardless of propulsion system! That’s thanks to the CLAR VE platform - like the 7 Series, heavily reworked vs the old carbon one. It now has a new material mix that includes more traditional steel, aluminium and titanium. The car has of course grown in size by 9CM length, 3.5 width and slightly in height.
The i5 is powered by a 81.2kw battery, and the 5th Generation E Drive technology as seen in the new i7 and IX models. Our entry level BMW i5 eDrive40 is a rear wheel drive EV, with 340BHP, 430NM and 0-60 in 6.1 seconds using sport boost feature. And range of up to 582km!
The red pepper here is the M60, and the top of the 5 pillar with 598BHP, 794NM in Sport Mode or 820NM in M Sport Boost or launch control, where 60 is reached in 3.8 seconds. Range is claimed at 516km but will likely be less, and fast charging is of course there, and you can add 156KM in 10 mins charge only!
But as I said, fear not as we have combustion versions too. These are all 48 volt mild hybrids, like the 520i - 208BHP, and 520d and Drive version - diesels sadly not in the UK anymore, but available in other territories. All combustion cars come with a new 8 speed steptronic, and we can expect Plug In Hybrids next year!
New 5 Series Price in the UK
BMW 520i sDrive – priced from £49,850 RRP estimated
BMW i5 eDrive40 – priced from £73,200 RRP estimated
BMW i5 M60 xDrive – priced from £96,840 RRP estimated
As for model specific changes in the 5 - we have a wheel slip limiter closer to actuator for quicker reactions, and now sport steering with variable ratio is standard. Get the adaptive pro chassis option, and you get the integral steering upgrade — this comes standard on the M60 with electronically controlled shock absorbers and roll stabilisation. We also have rear wheel steer up to 2.5 degrees.
I love the design - traditional sports sedan. The grille is thankfully normal, but with the new BMW iconic glow in the grille - optional in some territories. The front arrow lights are really reminiscent of E60 lights to me, and the rest of the M sport package very much like the new 3 Series LCI.
A touring model also coming in 2024, and we will also get a New M5 - Hybrid Powered, likely using the set up that debuted in the XM. That means the updated 4.4 V8, and the M Hybrid system combining a Permanently excited synchronous motor inserted inside the 8 Speed. And an additional 25.7 kw battery which is good for some sole electric drive - but the question is what power and weight will it be? Time will tell.
The interior is epic - basically a reduced 7 Series with the BMW interaction bar, new steering wheel, and the new 8.5 operating system. We’ll take a deep dive into this, and also explore the new apps like selfie cam, and changes to the OS.

2023 Mercedes EQE SUV is the Best EV Mercedes makes! : Full Drive Review

Oh no, not another EQ #MercedesBenz! I know what you’re thinking - #Mercedes make some butt ugly #ev 's don’t they? I mean seriously, they all look like eggs with car shapes painted on them. Utterly boring on the outside - yet annoyingly brilliant in terms of range, luxury and the superb interiors.
But with the EQE SUV, it might be the most normal looking of the bunch! I actually really think it looks decent. Maybe this is the Electric Mercedes we’ve been waiting for?
We have 3 different variants of this car, all of them use the same 96KW battery, and magnet based PSM electric motors --- First the EQE 350 + A RWD version with 292bhp and 565NM, and a 4Matic all wheel drive version of same. These are slow, with 0-60 measured at 6.8 or an eye watering 7.3 in rwd car.
The one we are testing today is the sweet spot -- the EQE 500 4matic - with 402hp it does 0-60 in 5.2 secs! Of course, if you want more power, AMG will sell you the EQE 53 AMG. This has 685HP, 1000nm and a sprint to 60 of 3.5 seconds, thanks to the AMG specific motors, fully variable 4matic and amg’s active ride control suspension.
The EQE SUV also brings changes like decoupling of the front axle (not unlike the 63 AMGs drift mode) in order to reduce energy consumption and increase range -- this is of course in the 4Matic versions of the car.
Today we will compare the car to the normal EQE sedan, the GLE, rivals like the IX and more. We will also look at the Hyper screen and basic screen variants of the interior to see which is better!

The new #BMWM X6M and X5M Facelifts are here - and a significant update in the LCI (life cycle impulse) for the #BMW performance SUV duo. They arrive at an interesting time, when the new BMW XM is making the wrong kind of waves, this duo brings a more traditional format of pure combustion in a lighter set up.
Well, almost pure, because now every X6 and X5 now comes with a 48 volt
Mild Hybrid system, including our M Models for the first time, thus these are the first M Models to feature mild hybrid tech!
Big changes in the new V8 engine update, still the 4.4 litre bit with a cross-bank exhaust manifold for better thermal management, a reinforced crankshaft drive and updated turbocharging! (Just like in the XM!) This gives a big kick of power, up to 625HP now, with 750NM and an impressive 0-60 in 3.9 seconds.
The hybrid change connects to this in the form of an electrified eight-speed automatic gearbox, which has a mild hybrid system built within it to give a small HP boost alongside 200NM immediately. The gearbox also comes with hydraulic transmission mounts giving a stiffer connection between the drive train and body. BMW has also developed a ‘near-actuator wheel slip limitation’ system that works in conjunction with the AWD set-up, rear diff, stability control - it now works 10 times faster than conventional traction control.
A big change needed comes to steering, where there’s also speed-sensitive electric power steering, with a revised steering gear on both models. We also get Adaptive M suspension Professional with updated electronically controlled dampers and active roll stabilisation. Dampers now act faster, to allow better comfort and sporty response respectively. Toe in values on the rear have been adjusted for high speeds They have also worked on rigidity around the whole car, with further bracing, bridges and arms to help dynamics.
Big news also for the BMW X6 M60i, which now uses the same V8 BMW M engine S68, replacing the outgoing N63 engine, it’s a proper M engine in a standard BMW! And the M60i also looks fantastic.
But perhaps not as fantastic as the new X5M and X6M - with all new front end aggression. We have New lights, which may mimic new 5 series. They are slimmer than the older ones - and complement the massive grille change. Grille looks amazing in gloss and matte black, and linking to the lower bumper. We have Staggered wheels as before, and the X6M gets spoiler lip and rear spoiler too. Big changes inside with BMW Operating System 8 pro, a huge curved LED screen replacing the old tech - I’ll show you every detail too along with a boost space comparison between X5 and X6!

New 2024 Mercedes E-Class! First look at HUGE Changes outside and in!

Here is probably the biggest that the #EClass has ever undergone. Big risks taken outside by #MercedesBenz, and maybe even bigger ones taken inside in the new W214 generation. But will they pay off? We all know how important the E is, Mercedes have sold over 16 million of these mid size luxury cars to date, so they really have to get this right!
So today we will check every detail of the car outside, and big changes inside - and we will even discuss a little AMG too!
The new one continues to link heavily as a bridge between C Class and S Class, but also now seeks to build a bridge to the EQ cars. That’s super obvious with the front grille and its black panel, as well as the connected rear light. These features are on both designs, in the Progressive or classic design line. Luckily that is where the EQ links end, as we have a traditional cab backward design with sporty Power domes, huge arches and the epic lights with E Class style Light eyebrows - oh and an illuminated grille you can use while driving! #mercedes stars are everywhere around the car too, most noticeably in the new rear light graphic which I think looks amazing!
The E Class is now with 50% plug in cars, or mild hybrid combustion cars, and the line up is stacked on both sides. The plug ins are especially interesting, as they have 100KM of pure electric miles too!. More interestingly, we will have a top dog 6 cylinder engine, which will come soon! The plug ins also get All-round AIRMATIC air suspension system with ADS+ continuously adjustable damping and rear-axle steering 4.5 degrees!
The interior, I surprisingly love it in person. Simplified MBUX super screen is way better than the hyper screen as the driver gets their own unit, and the screen sits much lower thus reducing bulk. MBUX 3 is updated to allow it to hear you without saying “Hey Mercedes” and thanks to a new API, developers can make apps - like Angry Birds or Zoom!
But is it still traditional enough for us to love it? Or did it go too far to EQ? Let’s find out today!

New BMW XM Driven - What were M Thinking?!

The last PURE #bmwm model, was the legendary M1. Wedge shaped sports car, focusing on the sporting heritage of #BMW M. #THEXM, is the first purely BMW M model since that cat. Born solely in Munich, with no standard BMW version, it’s a really strange car to make M only… Being a huge luxury SUV, that’s seemingly much slower than the X5M.
This is also the first Hybrid M car, so BMW link the car to their BMW Hybrid V8 race car - but we all know it was an inevitable move, given the industry, and where AMG and Porsche have gone with their hybrids.
So the XM features V8 Hybrid Power, and it’s important because something like this may end up in the next M5!
The system consists of an updated 4.4 V8 engine with 489HP,and a battery powering the Electric motor adding 197HP - so a total output of 653BHP, and 800nm.
The tech is the latest 5th Gen BMW Hybrid tech - like new IX and i7 etc, and pairs the V8 with a Permanently excited synchronous motor inserted inside the 8 Speed - BMW M developed an extra pre gearing stage between the two, allowing the unit to give much more power in a much smaller unit - impressive! The 25.7 kw battery is good for over 50 miles of sole electric drive too, but takes 4 hours to charge at 7kw.
All the power goes to the M xDrive which sprints at a sluggish 4.3 Seconds - since this car is well over 300kg heavier than the X5M! Some we will discuss, and something the XM red label may fix… 🌶️
Suspension features Active engine mounts, and the M adaptive proset up with electronic dampers and anti roll system. And finally, Rear wheel steering which they call “integral active steering”.
Inside features the super looking “M Lounge” - a bespoke rear seat arrangement with back tests that extend to the side, and a closed roof with lighting animations.
If you spec it right, you’ll get Vintage leathers and materials, and it all looks rather special.
Hans Zimmer Iconic Sounds add to the V8 sound when forcing hybrid, and the rest of the front is very reminiscent of the X5 and X6.
Topping the range will be the BMW XM LABEL RED - the most powerful BMW M model ever made at 748 hp and 1,000 Nm. Again, a strange proposition.
But this car really confuses me: why is a pure M car looking to be the slowest and least dynamic of the range? Are they aiming for G Wagon and Urus? Can it ever hope to achieve that level of heritage and lifestyle appeal? Let’s try and answer some of these questions!

2024 Mercedes Maybach EQS 680 SUV: Ultimate Luxury EV!
Wilhelm #Maybach could be considered the father of the Luxury Automobile, being the designer of the first "Mercedes" which appeared in 1901 for a customer whose daughter Mercedes later named the model and the legendary car brand!
Today as an off shoot Mercedes trim much like AMG, the modern #MercedesMaybach is a huge hit, with cars like the S680 Maybach and more surprisingly, the GLS Maybach which has been a massive success too!
So unsurprising that given the direction of the world, Maybach now finally gets its first fully #electriccar. It’s based on the EQS SUV, but essentially tears put the 7 seats, in fact all of the interior, and replaces it with S Class Maybach seats and rear cocoon. And then a tonne of other Maybach DNA in every area.
In terms of propulsion, we have the same two large PSMs front and rear - but now encased in to reduce noise. They make 658hp and 950nm and are paired to a 108kw battery and 4Matic all wheel drive. Helping it do 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, not that the passenger will care! They will care more about the 600KM quoted range, which is damned impressive for a large and heavy EV SUV like this.
Air suspension is of course standard, with continuous damping - the Maybach driving mode makes the rear even more comfortable thanks to an oscillating node in the rear helping reduce any rear movement. Oh and the usual rear wheel steering these cars have.
In terms of acoustics - Further rubber mountings for these too, and acoustic foam in key areas like the wheel arches to reduce noise, and acoustic glass too - all standard my Maybach stuff! The Maybach driving mode returns in the EV too, more comfortable than “comfort”, and EV Maybach get’s a unique sound profile called Aerial grace.
But what is MUCH more Maybach, is that interior. As I said, pulling the best parts from the S680 and GLS Maybach, we have the same cocoon rear commanding seats with waterfall style wood trim. Extensive use of high quality materials covers what is a truly epic luxury interior - tonnes of details to show you inside!

Welcome back to RBR guys! I’m in Phoenix Arizona, for the first drive of the flagship #BMWM car - This is the new #BMW G87 M2.
#TheM2 - the original was the first of its name, and in short time became M’s biggest selling model with them delivering over 60,000 units. And why not, we all love the original M2, in all of its variants. From the characterful N55 engine original, to the dynamic and brutish S55 that made the Competition and CS instant classics!
But that’s really the problem isn’t it. An instant classic is a hard act to follow, and that’s what the G87 is tasked with.
The formula is thankfully pure: a 6 cylinder 3.0 S58 engine, giving up to 550NM, and 460 BHP, 10 more than the last CS - with your choice of manual or auto to a pure RWD car. It also has all the chassis technology and rigidity measures from M3 and M4 like, including M Adam price suspension and unique struts.
It has the same front and rear axles as the M4, thus Track widths are identical which means it’s wide as hell, 3.3 cm wider than the old one, and actually lower!
I love the design. I want to share the design sketches they did with you, because I love them, and they really impart where they’re going with on this. Inside deserves a deep dive too, with the new Curved Display and numerous BMW M touches!
We will also go over all the M2 M performance parts of this generation, as there are a tonne of them!
But with so much similar to M4, and weight almost the same too - in my humble opinion it has an uphill battle, can it be good enough to convince us to pay that much more, vs buying the brilliant old one? Let’s find out today!

I remember the days when a #SUV Coupe or crossover was a novelty that all the car makers were testing the waters with. It was a pretty nonsensical idea that most of us turned our noses up at - I mean what’s the point of taking an inherently practical machine and slicing it into a compromised SUV? Time and tide however, showed there’s big love for the nonsensical - perhaps it’s something we should have predicted. I mean whenever an automaker prioritises aesthetics and customer emotion over logic - wonderful things happen. Today, you’ll likely find more crossovers than SUVs in many line ups - especially with the rise of Hyper SUVs like the Ferrari Purosangue and EV SUVs!
So the landscape has changed - but the king for me always in terms of looks, has been the original GLC Coupe. It made the normal GLC look like a sale’s reps estate, the X4 look even more like a piece of malformed fungus than it already was, the X6 and GLE were made to look fat and frumpy in front of it - and in AMG form stood as SUV king of the Nurburgring for 7 of it’s 8 years in production. That halo car, undoubtedly having a trickle down effect on sales of standard GLCs. And humongous sales just solidified why logic isn’t always the answer!
The new car - could be an even better partner to live with. Still with an edge on looks, but with tech and luxury from a few classes up - are we looking at another customer favourite? Let’s check out every detail and find out together!
The new one carries the same formula of close relation to the new C Class, sitting on the new MRA2 platform that’s been optimised for electrification. It’s 6cm longer, with 3 of that going to the boot space.
Here’s the basics: every GLC is hybrid in some way, they’re all 4wd as standard, most will use 4 cylinder engines - BUT unlike the C, the GLC will get a 6 diesel cylinder later!
The mild hybrid has an ISG or integrated starter generator, between engine and gearbox, providing immediate 200nm torque and a bit of horsepower before the combustion engine takes over. The plug-in, like the GLC 300E, has a 31kw battery that gives 70+ Miles range of Electric only driving! It’s also packaged better in the rear boot than the predecessor. Power comes from a permanently excited internal rotor synchronous motor - which gives 440 Nm torque and in the 300, 333 hp.
The suspension is a new four-link front set up, with a multi-link rear. It has improved ride quality and and you can also get the Airmatic suspension with active dampening, this comes along with rear axle steering for the first time, of up to 4.5 degrees - more than C class!
Design is quite lovely. New lights on the rear connect, almost like the Mercedes EQ models - but not light in-between. Probably for the best. It sits lower, and looks more muscular than the estate, without losing much inside.
AMGs will follow with a new GLC 43 coupe, based on the C43 with 4 cylinder engine. Then the big one, 670+ BHP GLC 63S E Performance, with the hybrid system off the C63 — can it achieve the dynamic accolades of the previous car though? I’m unconvinced.
So, let’s take a thorough look at it, and see what we think vs the standard GLC!

Fact: Super Wagons are cool. So we all wanted an #M3Touring ever since they made that E46 concept car. And on the 50th anniversary of #BMWM they fulfilled our desires: but should we actually have asked for it? This appears on paper, a car compromised — with a whopping 85kg extra weight due to because of going touring, no carbon roof, Slower to 60… and a face many still aren’t happy with.
But in my expedience, what’s on paper doesn’t mean sh*t in reality. #BMW M have allegedly pulled a rabbit out the hat with this one and we’re gonna find out together on a first drive today - where I’ll compare it to the other M3 and M4 variants, the CSL, And most crucially - the new C63 hybrid. Let’s see if the M3 touring is worth the hype!
This car has come in a generation where, not everyone is happy with the M3. Particularly its face - but reviewers like myself, love it for its dynamic and emotional prowess. The M3 Touring comes in Competition XDrive only, meaning AWD and paired to the 8 Speed torque convertor box. And the most powerful normal M3 too (more on CS later) with the S58 engine making 510 BHP and 650NMs. The Xdrive is the clever one from M5, so switchable drift mode. More crucially, means car feels more RWD most of the time.
So a heart basis, but the touring body however, adds complications. the body in white NEEDS extra bracing for the rear structure and it also needs a unique rear axle subframe. All of this to make the car as close to the Sedan as possible. The glass and rear structure adds additional weight - thus adding 85KG to the car, and slowing the 0-60 to 3.7 seconds… So it makes the car less dynamic, and not as fast…. Or does it?! We will see.
The design is epic: Just the doors shared with a standard 3 series. Your eyes drawn instead to the massive front arches, and all new rear end! Giving this car bulk that the C63 doesn’t have. Speaking of C63S E Performance, what does this drive like compare to that wagon? I’ll try and fill you in!
We will also talk about the Future - will they make an M3 CS Touring? They better! And is this the only M Perf wagon? Rumour has it, the M5 hybrid might also gain a touring version!

The #porsche #911 is, with its rich history, undoubtedly an hero of our car world. Some of you GET why it’s cool and hasn’t changed much, and some think it’s utterly boring and not worth the price. You come in with certain assumptions, hopes, fears - but the truth reveals only itself only when you live with it. And Remove Before Race is all about removing those presumptions we have - and and then racing!
992 is the most accomplished 911 ever, and the GTS is the goldilocks sweet spot. I’ve lived with mine for almost a year, so today we’re going to answer what it’s like living with the one true Porsche. Can it survive with a family of 4, is it worth the hype, and is the GTS the one? Let’s find out!
Today I’ll explore all the things I love & that you need to get in your own car, like Rear wheel steer, 360 camera and other must have options.
I’ll also detail the things I hate about the 992 generation — most crucially the crappy gear selector, and awful VAG group Start stop system.
And my favourite topic: Family usability! Can we fit a proper pram, a car seat and still have space left over for passengers and luggage?
And only after this, will we drive the car and dive into just how “perfect” the 992 GTS is. Is it the ultimate 911 daily, or could we make do with a previous generation in the 997 or 991? Let’s find out today!! :)

Addicted to the Electric #porsche #EV! My second #Taycan has been a strange saga - I didn’t get anything that I planned for! Originally I wanted the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo - but the huge increase in price and 2 year wait list put the kibosh on that idea!
So I decided to get another Cross Turismo 4S, as I had done 25k miles in mine and loved every minute! So i spec’d one from scratch in Neptune Blue with double the spec that I had last time - and it got to the stage of the car being built and photos if it being sent to me in the “My Porsche” app. 😅 Then I got a call from Porsche Reading, a Sport Turismo just became available, and I decided to take it!
It’s not perfect, it’s not what I planned for, and I’ve had to retrofit stuff - but I think it’s a win!
Today I’ll run through the spec, advice on how to spec a Taycan 4S along with must-haves and pitfalls - and I’ll even go over their in car purchases for services like Innodrive, called function on demand (it’s better in practice than you think).

Audi’s RS4 Competition Makes Me Smile! Full Review
#Audi’s Best just got Better! The mid-side power wagon gets zero power increase, but instead gets upgrades where it really matters for emotion and dynamics!
Back in Spain, arrived in style in Iron Man’s original Mark 3 armor, it’s time for the full drive of the new #AudiSport #RS4 Competition! A Sportier RS4, one that seems to remedy to main complaints of the original car. Big changes include a more emotional exhaust with significant sound deadening of 8kg removed, Including manually adjustable suspension, and a more exciting soundtrack.
The engine is still the 2.9l V6 bi turbo making 450BHP and 600NM. Yet we have an improved 0-60 of 3.9 seconds, 0.2 faster, firstly thanks to the upgraded 8 speed tiptronic. This has whole new software to make it much more emotional and shift faster in Dynamic Mode especially. The updated Quattro sport differential, though still 85% to the rear, is more aggressive in giving power.
The biggest change is in suspension, with the RS sport suspension pro with stiffer springs - an option that will be standard in the UK. I’ll take you through what you can adjust with the cool tool box - essentially rebound, dampening and ride height! The height can be adjusted to be 10-20mm lower than the standard car. Additionally, we also get a new Sport anti roll bar on rear and front which are stiffer, and dynamic steering with specific tuning and a fixed ratio of 13/1 - this really shows me how serious Audi are in fixing their past mistakes!
The car gets lighter competition wheels, which surround a revised braking system good for stopping up to two car lengths earlier.
I’ll take you through a look under the skin of all the above changes in the Competition version including all the unique design elements inside and out, and then drive it on road in the mid-level suspension settings.
Spoiler: it’s an emotionally charged car, that really made me smile! Can it make use smile on the same roads the C63 made us cry?!Let’s find out today!!

Finally, the fateful day is here! #C63 S E Performance driven on the windy roads of Malaga in Spain. No excuses of unfinished software, production vehicles, or anything else: today, truly is judgement day for the new four-cylinder hybrid version of our favourite #AMG.
I will first recount the history of the name, because today’s topic is of Identity. Mercedes might remind you of the 190E that Senna made famous on the Nurburgring, another 4 cylinder super saloon. But the legend of the real C63 truly begins from the W204 series and it’s 6.2 litre mega engine - a naturally aspirated unit also found in legends like the SLS AMG and the GT3 racing cars. Ingrained in my memory is Jeremy Clarkson coming up behind Richard Hammond in the ax murderer with headlights, something that left a huge impression on my young mind. Years later, I’ve now owned 12 of these incredible mg machines. Headlined by the 506 and C63 Black Series - this was the first step, and a hard act to follow. Despite our fears of turbocharging, the W205 proved to be an incredible car with superb sound, particularly in low speeds. The C63 Coupe stands out as the best, with a unique body and epic handling.
This one is totally different. No RWD, No V8. It’s a 680 BHP 4 cylinder engine, aka the M139L First found in the A45. In here, that engine is switched longitudinally, and we add to it the MGU H electric gas turbocharger from the AMG ONE, with a big AMG performance battery and an electric motor on the rear. This is the so called P3 hybrid system.
The 0-60 is claimed at 3.4seconds - I absolutely smashed that figure, as you’ll see! We also have to talk about the Boost mode, and why it’s strange. Plus the big implications of power to weight ratio because of boost mode.

The first #SClass #AMG to do real honour to the 300 SEL red pig of AMG origin?The car that began the AMG story. A small AMG team of Hans Werner Aufrecht und Melchermanaged to buy a used 300 SEL used for racing, and modified it further bringing the 6.6 V8 up to 6.8, widening the arches, lightening the weight and thus the Red Pig was born! The mighty #MercedesAMG saloon won champion in its class and won second place overall, only because it needed to stop and refuel constantly.The Legend of the Red Pig was cemented, leading to the expansion of the small company!
Our precious car in the w222 had the 4.0 V8 alone, and it was no slouch with 604BHP, 900NM and a 0.60 of 4.3 seconds for RWD, and 3.4 for the 4matic + car - making it a monster in its own right, it wound up being faster than the S65 back then thanks to the 4matic and better gearbox.
Design was also AMG to a limit, maintaining the normal S Grille. The new car, is a new animal in design and power!
Still with the 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine but it adds that now famous P3 Hybrid system, with LSD, permanently excited synchronous electric motor and 2 speed gearbox encased cleverly on the rear axle.
It has the biggest AMG hybrid battery so far at 13.1KW with 1200 individually cooled AMG cells. Keeping the temp constant AT 45 degrees means it can always keep at the optimum level of performance - 33km EV only range.
AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive drives the MASSIVE system output of 802BHP, Torque of 1430 Nm and an insane 0.60 in 3.3 seconds! The usual 9 speed MCT wet clutch is here too.
The P3 is epic - it makes it possible to boost electrically at full torque across the entire rpm range! The Battery is designed for fast power delivery, and recuperation: not range, so it’s all about performance. Though you do get 3 Recuperation modes.
Dynamically, S63 gets Active engine mounts for first time - like C63 and GT. there’s also a tonnes of struts and stabilisers, as well as a Carbon fibre shell to hold battery also helps rigidity along side the usual air based AMG RIDE CONTROL SUSPENSION +.

The #BMW 3er has had a big update in the LCI, pushed hard by its rivals in the areas of tech specifically, the 3 Series is fighting back! It’s a massively important car for BMW and the world, as the #cars that introduced us to the idea of a sporty small sedan. Hence, it stands as the best selling BMW since its introduction in 1975 — pretty much the cornerstone of the Ultimate Driving Machine. Last time we explored the full history of the 3 Series from its origins with the 02 Series, E21, E30 and all the way to the new G20 - but today is all about the facelift or LCI!
The G20 current gen has been the best selling 3 Series of any generation so far. Unsurprising, as it does the job of the ultimate driving machine with more tech and better appointment than ever before. CLAR platform is more rigid than any before it, lighter too, with a great 50/50 weight distribution and real focus on aero with active flaps and a covered under carriage.
LCI of our G20 focuses on tech and aesthetic, rather than performance and dynamics. As a whole, the 3 Series gets a tonne of engine choices, like plug ins with the 320e / 330e with an electric range of around 30 miles - and huge combined mileage! Or the simple 318 and 320 4 cylinder petrol engines; and finally 330d mild hybrid diesels with 48v assistance too!
But for us today, it’s about #BMWM power. And we’re returning to the M340i XDrive here in New colour of frozen tanzenite blue! And a lovely frozen pure grey 2 340i Touring!
Power is unchanged from the six cylinder B58 at 374BHP and 500NM — but interestingly the 0-60 is faster at 4.1 seconds, and I can’t seem to work out what they’ve changed to achieve that! Perhaps it’s the only change here, which is the addition of 48V mild hybrid — which gives a boost of 8 kW/11 hp when needed, much like most mild hybrids we’ve seen from AMG too.
The car also maintains the 8-speed Steptronic transmission, with a xDrive which is rear biased and comes standard with the MSport differential in the UK. Also standard in the UK is the Shadowline trim, satin aluminium is an option. “M Sport Package Pro” is another option that comes standard in the UK. This gives black details on the grille and pipes, shadow line lights, red calibers and a black spoiler.
Design is a big upgrade here for me: a very M5 looking sports sedan! Whole new front is the best bit with a muscular design and bigger air inlets; lights really help. Rear is changed, though a little strange to me really looking quite i40 like. You can go even further with M performance parts, all detailed in the video!
Interior is a huge change, and they had to do it with the C Class now raising the bar. So the 3er gets the BMW Curved display at 12.3 inches, and the excellent new series 8 operating system. Fully customisable driver zone too, and dashboard now with slimmer air vents and much bigger carbon fiber trim. A big disappointment for me however, is the gear selector: reduced to a crappy tiny knob much like the Golf 8 or 911. Huge shame, and I don’t see BMW M following suit in the M3. FYI: our car today is well spec’d and comes with Comfort plus pack and Tech pack.

The Worlds Best Electric Car is a G Wagon!! First Look
The Most Desirable EV is a #GClass! The Electric G Story began from 2018. Before it was due to be a limited model, but as the market began to change, the plan changed to a full series production model rather than a one off. And now this “EQG” is aiming to be the best Electric Off Roader in the world!
Stronger than time in an EV - For #MercedesBenz Off road capabilities were the key focus, and it needed to be as good as the petrol in every other way. Can it? What did they have to compromise? Let’s find out.
To begin, the G uses four Electric Drive units - one for each wheel! Each EDU has its own gearbox with two speeds too. The challenge was for these to to match the differential locks of the normal G - which they do! Low range also available in the #electriccar.
Next we have the battery, which fits perfectly inside the ladder frame. No range figure given, but I saw close to 300miles when I was in the car. The unit is Sealed under water with Weight and rigidity focused on.
That Ladder frame - protects the battery too. We have a new Rigid axle modified for the EDU, but similar to the normal G.
Our Suspension points are also quite similar to the combustion car, it feels like almost the same shell on a different ladder frame!
The electric G is of course “Schokl proved” Extremely resistant under floor guard - protection of the battery. Material chosen for stiffness.
On Road driving performance - a given. No figures given, but it felt much faster than my G63 AMG. Speed and directional movement was insane, like a rally car. With fully variable torque, it could act very rear biased too.
Range not important or harmed in off roaming - 7-8 % will only be lost despite the hours of off roading we are doing today, it’s more about driving hours!
Inside I was an updated screen and MBUX but otherwise typical G Wagon. I also saw buttons for the amazing “G Turn” tank turn move, and a new hidden move yet to be unveiled… can’t wait to see!
The G Turn is super fun, and generally with the unchanged design, I see this as being the true Tesla/Mercedes EQ killer. A design icon translated perfectly to electric!

M4 CSL First Drive & History of The Fastest BMW M cars!

Time to drive the new CSL - three little letters, that perhaps unfairly put this car in a position it’s recent predecessors were never in - namely, huge boots to fill.
That name “Coupe Sport Leichtbau” only links right back to BMW’s origins with the 3.0 CSL Batmobile.
Many limited edition cars followed the formula it set. And I’ll show you all of them, including theeE30 M3’s special Sport evolution model, E36 M3 GT special edition, E46 CSL, E92 GTSand finally the M4 GTS!
Each car though not using the name, having the same formula. Namely a focus on Light weight materials, stripped out interiors, power, handling and memorable looks!
Today CSL means Competition Sport Lightweight, and the new CSL carries the theme of all the predecessors forward. It’s the lightest of the current generation M3/M4 cars. Like the original CSL it’s limited to 1000 units, with the UK just getting 100.
#BMWM have redone the suspension, it’s lower with less rubber and give, and a host of new hardware for rigidity. The engine and transmission are upgraded, with more power of 550BHP and more emotional shifts from the 8 speed. Cooling is also heavily upgraded, and much of the interior stripped so you hear more from the new titanium system!
But will it all amount to enough in the end? We will see when we launch control it and drive it on UK roads - sadly on Michelin PS4S rather then the Cup 2.
Coming in the future is another #CSL M4 - the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage - 750K euros, limited numbers coach built in Munich. Rumoured to be 1500 kg, 6 speed manual and more power. Will that surpass this enough? Time will tell.
Today, we need to see how this car will do against the normal #BMW M4 and special cars of the past!

New Porsche 911 Dakar! First Look at the Off-Road Rally Sports car!
Porsche’s worst kept secret of the last few years: the Off Road Sports Car. We’ve seen the “911 Safari” being tested around the world for a few years, and now it’s here and named after the 1984 Paris—Dakar rally win by Porsche, the starting point for AWD #911.
Limited to just 2500 units, it’s another special edition Porsche to add to the 992 roster.
Clearance is what it’s all about, and off road ability for slow and fast pace! At the standard level it’s 5cm higher than a base Carrera. It sits on a 4-corner lift system not unlike the Cross Turismo Taycan, which can be raised a further 3cm giving better clearance and approach angles, more similar to a 4x4. The 4 corner lift system is not just for clearance, but also part of the re-tuned suspension - for example focus on rally style driving! The High level setting can be used up to 107MPH, when you’re in the mood to do some mountain lap times.
The car can be optioned with specially developed Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres - Staggered at 245/45 R 19 at the front and 295/40 R 20 at the rear - The chunky tread pattern is nine millimetres deep and the reinforced sidewalls rest on two carcass plies making it resistant to tear.
The power for the #dakar comes from a familiar unit, the same power and engine tune as the 911 GTS. That means 480BHP, 570NM and a 0-60 of 3.5 seconds still!! Dynamic engine mounts and PDCC are standard as well as 8 speed PDK.
Rally mode is an extra mode, ideal for loose surfaces like gravel or sand, and makes the car more rear biased. So ideal for a blast up some dunes in Dubai or Morocco! Off road mode focuses on ground clearance action. What’s funny is the new launch which both of these modes have called “rally launch control” - which can handle launching in looser terrain with slippage of 20%!
Design is fun: New lightweight rear spoiler highlights, it’s made of CFRP. This is white in the rally spec, or plastic protected in the normal one. CFRP bonnet is stolen from the 911 GT3. But more interesting is the Unique front and rear body, with stainless steel plates on front back and sides for protection. Plastic trim on the widened arches like the Cross Turismo - and I love the Aluminium towing lugs on front and rear in red!
The roof rack is gorgeous. Designed as gorgeously as you’d imagine #Porsche to do. It can hold up to 42KG, and comes with a viable 12V slot for the lights. It has space for fuel and water canister, folding shovels, traction boards and even a Roof tent!!
Inside we have Bucket seats from the GT3 and rear seat delete. Also from GT3 is the lightweight glass, battery - Meaning it’s only 10kg heavier than a Carrera 4 GTS! That’s a good effort! Shade Green Metallic is a new shade, which you also get inside with the stitching in a matching colour.
Rally package gives you livery like the winning 84 car, gentian blue with white vinyl for the first time using extensive wrap on a porsche from factory. White wheels and wing, and Customers can choose a number on the side too. It is an additional 18k, on a car priced at 173K.

A clash of Graz and Affalterbach - combining the Off road prowess of Graz and the Emotion of AMG Affalterbach all into one over exaggerated G! The more G, G ever: the #MercedesAMG #G63 4x4²!
The aim of the game is more ground clearance, which we get thanks to the clever portal axles - but here totally redone vs the old G500. So yes, Mercedes have made cars of this ilk before with three quite famous vehicles in the recent past: The insane G63 AMG 6x6, the G 500 4x4² and then the G 650 Landaulet by Maybach - a car I still can’t believe exists!
As we all know, #AMG helmed the development of the new G anyway, so it is already better placed to spawn a crazy 4x4² than it’s predecessor was: which is why the last one was just a G500 4x4². The new car in standard form has independent front suspension, all adaptive, and got rid of the old recirculating ball steering -- which made this new gen G Wagon tower above the old one in dynamics. The G63 4x4² uses that same basis, but adds newly designed portal axles with less noisy helical gears, and this time a proper basis by AMG, to create the first G63 AMG Squared!
Whereas the old G500 Squared needed heavy modification in suspension, the new G only required the new spur gears and a subframe: everything above that is almost unchanged essentially. Indeed it’s massively more powerful, the old G500 only had 416 BHP and 0-60 is around 6.5, the new car has the full 585BHP and a quoted sprint to 60 of 5 seconds!!! Insane! All achieved by the standard Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres, perfect partner for off roading and AMG road use!
It’s huge though, 2.25 Meters, makes me look 5’2! (I’m 5’10!) The portal helps gain more than ten centimetres compared to the G 63, and much steeper approach angles and wading depths for off roading. And weight wise, it’s at 2790kg, vs 2485 normal G63 - much less gain than I thought.
Since 2020, the brand “G Class” became a separate unit of the company, not unlike AMG and Maybach. Which shows you how seriously Mercedes are taking this car — proved by this car, and the upcoming electric G wagon or EQG!
Today we get to drive this on and off road, and I’ll show you all the carbon details and unique parts of the new G63 squared. Will I want to buy one by the end? Let’s find out!!
