modoru by TheFloW is an application which allows you to downgrade your Vita console's firmware to the lowest factory firmware your exact system is capable of running! However the most exciting benefit of this is you can use modoru on your modified console to downgrade to firmware 3.60 or 3.65 and install Ensō alongside HENkaku for a permanent modification! You are free to follow along with this tutorial to downgrade to any firmware version your console is capable of running, however if you are looking to downgrade to a permanent modified firmware solution, 3.60 is the most recommended firmware. If your console is not capable of downgrading to 3.60 firmware, 3.65 would be the next recommended firmware. It should be noted that this tutorial is recommended for Vita consoles up to firmware 3.73. This tutorial also assumes you have a Vita console set up with HENkaku/h-encore/Trinity and have the basic understanding of how to transfer files as well as modify your config.txt file to load plugins through the taiHEN engine. Trinity from TheFloW is the third public jailbreak for Vita consoles of all variants on firmware 3.70. This modification allows you to install and launch third party homebrew games, applications, load additional plugins, and truly unlock the full potential of the Vita. This tutorial will show you how to update to firmware 3.70 if you are on 3.69, modify an existing PSP or PSP mini game you own on your Vita, and easily install HENkaku through Trinity. It should be noted that this tutorial is intended to be performed on a 3.70 Vita console. Firmware 3.70 does not have as much plugin support as previous firmware (3.60/3.65/3.67/3.68) and it is entirely possible to lose your exploited PSP game on accident. You can remain on firmware 3.70 if you wish to, but TheFloW recommends using the 3.70 modification to downgrade to a lower firmware such as 3.60 or 3.65 in order to have the ability to install a permanent modification to your system through Ensō. Downgrading can be performed using the application modoru, after that you can follow a previous tutorial to get your downgraded Vita situated. PS3Xploit returns yet again with another legendary breakthrough in the form of HEN, short for Homebrew Enabler! PS3HEN works on ANY model of PS3 as long as you have already installed 4.84 HFW and HAN on it. Having HAN installed on 4.84 HFW is REQUIRED to continue with this tutorial! This guide will walk you through the steps of obtaining the required files needed for HEN, installing HEN, enabling HEN, as well as installing some real homebrew! This will also cover how to update HEN in the future, assuming you're using the offline HDD package, as well as resigning any homebrew which might not install the first time around. Time for a bit of a mix between Let's Repair! and my other modding walkthrough style videos! You might be asking what the point in TSOP flashing a modchipped Xbox might be? Let me explain. This console currently has 3 ways of booting up: chip enabled with custom BIOS, chip disabled using on board BIOS, and backup recovery BIOS. With the current setup I cannot successfully boot up with the chip disabled as the hard drive I have installed is unlocked. This hard drive cannot be locked and I don't want to swap to another hard drive, so using the stock BIOS shows an error as it cannot utilize an unlocked hard drive. I figured I would revisit this console and reflash the TSOP with a custom BIOS so I can use the console works with no issue on any bootup configuration. TheFloW has made an announcement in the form of a PSA detailing what you'll need for the upcoming Jailbreak for PS Vita consoles on firmwares 3.69 and 3.70! This tutorial will not at all modify your existing console, but it is required to do in order to prepare your console for the upcoming release before it gets patched. This new method is a PSP Emulator Escape and requires at minimum 1 PSP or PSP mini game to be downloaded to your console. As this method can be patched in a future update and requires a current PSN purchase, TheFloW has announced news about this several weeks in advance to allow people to adequately prepare themselves for the upcoming release. The current ETA for this new exploit release is for the second half of May 2019. If you have any interest in modifying your PS Vita now or in the future and you're on firmware 3.69 or 3.70, take a few minutes out of your day and follow this tutorial. Again, this method is prone to be patched quickly once it is released, so the most important thing is to prepare yourself in advance by having one PSP or PSP mini game installed on your Vita! This tutorial aims to show you how to easily convert a jailbroken PS3 with standard retail (CEX) firmware to debug/developer (DEX) firmware! This will allow you to use your PS3 to easily develop, debug, and modify apps/games in real time. PS3Xploit returns to take on firmware 4.84! If you have a PlayStation 3 on firmware 4.84 or lower, and it has a low enough minimum firmware version, you can now jailbreak your PS3 using only software! No hardware flashers, no need to take apart the console, not even a need to downgrade anymore! Thanks to the developers over at PS3Xploit, anyone with a compatible PS3 can patch their console and install Custom Firmware (CFW). The process here is to make sure your PS3 can handle a jailbreak, meaning the number you get from MinVerChk must be 3.56 or lower. ANYTHING HIGHER THAN 3.56 FROM THIS TEST WILL NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your PS3 is compatible, it must not be higher than firmware 4.84! Regardless of what firmware you are on you will first need to flash over the latest version of 4.84 HFW from PS3Xploit. This is a Hybrid Firmware (HFW) which will install a modified version of 4.84, allowing you to launch the PS3Xploit tools. Even if you are on a regular 4.84 firmware, you MUST install 4.84 HFW! This process will not work on standard 4.84 firmware! From there you can dump your NAND or NOR of your PS3 to a FAT32 formatted flash drive. This should be done on every install, just in case your system needs the flash restored at any point in the process. After that, copy a specific file to your flash drive, and run the writer tool. This process will flash the file to your console and "patch" the current 4.84 HFW so it is ready for CFW. After verifying your PS3 has been patched successfully, you can simply reboot your console, take a 4.84 (or higher) CFW of your choice, and install it directly through the XMB! In order to do all of this you MUST have a compatible PS3. All Fat/Phat models work! If you want to perform this on a Slim console, 20XX and 21XX models are all compatible. 25XX models that show 3.56 or lower on MinVerChk will work, anything showing a higher firmware will not. ANY PS3 MODEL HIGHER THAN 25XX WILL NOT WORK! This includes newer Slim models and all Super Slim models. This tutorial will show you step-by-step how to play PlayStation 2 (PS2) games on a modified/jailbroken PS3 using ManaGunZ! This method shows you how to transfer your PS2 games to the PS3 over your network via FTP. multiMAN is used to transfer the game over to the console itself while as ManaGunZ is used to mount and boot up the game. PS3Xploit returns with another implementation of HAN for 4.84 consoles! HAN, aka etHANol, is a method of modifying EVERY PS3 model out there as long as it has firmware 4.84 or lower installed on it! Keep in mind this is not a CFW (Custom Firmware) so a lot of the convenience and crazy customization you can do with a CFW console you simply cannot do with a HAN console. HAN allows you to have some elevated features, mainly installing your own games as PKG files as long as they have been prepared and resigned appropriately to your specific console. If you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend a CFW PS3 over a HAN PS3 for any usage, however if you want to play around with this or HAN is your only option feel free to continue with the tutorial. This tutorial will take you through the entire process of downloading the required files, preparing your USB drive, updating to 4.84 HFW, dumping your console's ACT/IDPS files, installing HAN, and installing HAN Toolbox. The ACT/IDPS files are extremely important as they are specific to your account/console combination, they will also be needed to resign any packages you want to install to your console in the future! HAN alone cannot run any homebrew, but HEN can, helping to bridge the gap between HAN and CFW users! Behold! My first console! I've created a multitude of original Xbox related tutorials and casual upgrade videos such as this, but this console here is special as it's the first one I ever owned. I do not like the NVIDIA Shield TV. There, I admitted to it! I really wanted to like this device. I bought it at the same time I bought my 4K TV and had plans to turn this into my media playback device as well as an emulation machine, after hearing so many great things about it. This tutorial is designed for hardmodded Xbox users and aims to show you 2 different methods of upgrading your hard drive. If you want to keep your existing configuration while also increasing your storage, the first method will be best for you as it involves cloning your current drive to a new drive using Chimp 261812. The second method is much easier and faster but does not retain or transfer any of your data. This second method simply involves installing a new hard drive in place of your old one and booting up your console with a installation disc in the DVD drive. The disc being used for this tutorial is HeXEn 2018. Time to revisit Xbox softmod installations! This tutorial has been updated from my previous one to utilize Xbox Softmodding Tool by Rocky5, without a doubt the best softmodding package out there. Xbox Softmodding Tool cleans up a lot of the backend processes, fixes what many previous softmods did not do correctly, and is by far the most stable, easy to use, and feature rich softmod setup out there! This modification will not only allow you to preserve your Xbox (allowing you to remove the clock capacitor, back up sensitive files, etc.) but will also unlock access to a whirlwind of upgrades. Some common upgrades being: storage upgrades, emulation, playing your games from the hard drive, XBMC, and much more. This softmod can be performed without ever taking a screw out of your console! All you need are some modified savegame files, a method to transfer them to the Xbox's hard drive, and a game to utilize the modified gamesaves. This tutorial also involves burning a Extras Disc DVD which I absolutely recommend doing, but it is completely optional. Keep in mind that the Xbox is a bit picky with flash drives. I cannot guarantee compatibility but in short: try to hunt down the smallest, oldest flash drive in your possession. Many flash drives 1 GB or smaller should be fine. With this, Xplorer360, and a Xbox to USB adapter, you can format the flash drive appropriately and transfer the needed gamesaves from your computer to your console! Another solid alternative method I have used is transferring the saves to a Memory Unit via FTP on another modded Xbox, however this tutorial is assuming you only have one, completely stock Xbox available to use. The Xecuter 3, later succeeded by the Xecuter 3 CE, is one of the final modchips released by Team-Xecuter for the original Xbox. It has been hailed by many as the best modification on the console due to the well documented installation, the BIOS, and of course the plethora of X3 compatible peripherals released for it.
