The Hybrid Corn I Will Be Growing This Year

How our bananas, fig, onions, and asparagus are doing right now.
I lost of folks don't have time to watch longer videos, so I thought that I would experiment with posting some shorter updates of specific things we are growing in the garden. This is how our bananas, fig, onions, and asparagus are doing right now.

Black Krim Tomato Taste Test And My Thoughts On It
This is a taste test of a tomato that I grew a long time ago. Of all of the tomatoes that I've ever grown, a Black Krim tasted the best to me. Some years are better than others, but it was a Black Krim tomato that had the best taste to me in our garden. If you've never grown one, it's worth a try. They do crack a little easier than some other tomatoes, but the taste would make it well worth growing for some people.

In this video, I will show you the color changes as they progress, and show you how to tell when they are ripe.

Puma peppers are one of the most beautiful peppers I've ever grown. They aren't for everyone though. They can be pretty hot. In a 5 gallon container, ours grew to about 3 feet tall and about 3 feet wide.

Taste Test Of An Old German Heirloom Tomato
I grew Old German heirloom tomatoes about 6 or 7 years ago. I found that it did fairly well during a mild summer, but during a typical summer, it didn't like the heat here. It might be a good choice for folks who have a milder climate.

Mortgage Lifter Tomato Plants Have Tons Of Tomatoes and Blooms
This is a look at a Mortgage Lifter tomato plant that we grew one year. It's a good look at just how many blooms and tomatoes they can have on them. For some reason, they did well early here, but didn't seem to like our hot summers.

Growing Cucumbers Vertically - 3 Great Reasons You Should
I've grown cucumbers in our very large tomato cages for years now. If you've never grown cucumbers vertically, it is definitely worth a try. First of all, it saves space because instead of sprawling on the ground in all directions, they climb straight up a trellis or cage. Second, since the cucumbers are hanging, they end up being much straighter. And third, they are much easier to harvest because they are up off the ground. I didn't mention it in the video, but they are also easier to find when grown vertically.

Wasps Are Great At Controlling Cabbage Worms - They Eat Them
If you see a wasp crawling around on your Cabbage, Cauliflower, Broccoli, or Brussel Sprouts, they are probably looking for worms to eat. They love to eat Cabbage Worms and Cabbage Loopers.
Of course, you should keep your distance from wasps, but if you don't mind them being in your garden, they can help you out by eating the worms that eat your Brassicas.
