Elevate Your Faith in God and Find Real Joy in Your Life with Guest Margaret Feinberg

During those trials, she learned that she could either “cling to her crisis or cling to Christ.” On today’s edition of Family Talk, Margaret candidly explains that faith is not the absence of doubt. The thorns in our lives should drive us back to God, Who is our refuge and strength. Contrary to secular claims, we can’t experience transformative faith without sacrifice, suffering, and service. In her book, More Power To You, Margaret shares that she has learned to pray the simple declaration: “God is good. God is on the throne. Breathe in, breathe out.”

Show Me the Father - Part 2 with Guest Stephen Kendrick
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 19.5 million children, more than 1 in 4, live without a father in the home. When a dad checks out or leaves the home, it's like a bus driver leaving the bus, and the abandoned passengers end up in a ditch. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Christian filmmaker and producer, Stephen Kendrick, gives us hope. The film he made with his two brothers titled "Show Me the Father," features five true stories of wounded dads and broken homes, and how God stepped in and brought forgiveness and restoration. The Christian solution to America’s crippling fatherlessness is to reconnect people to their loving Heavenly Father, and inspire dads to step into their God-given roles, in this moment.

Stephen Kendrick is an author, producer and writer. After serving in church ministry for 20 years, Stephen and his brothers, Alex and Shannon, founded Kendrick Brothers Productions, where Stephen co-writes and produces feature films, books, and study resources. Show Me the Father - Part 1 with Guest Stephen Kendrick
When Christian filmmaker Stephen Kendrick speaks at a men's conference, he asks, “How many of you never heard your father tell you he loved you?” Tragically, half the hands go up. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. Tim Clinton and Stephen discuss his recent documentary, "Show Me the Father," that centers on the impact and influence of dads in the home. Stephen explains that there’s a direct connection between a dad’s words and the identity in the heart of his child. Stephen insists that it’s a game changer when a father loves his child in word and deed, like our Heavenly Father loves us.

God’s Love Story in Your Marriage Part 1 Al and Jo Ann Janssen & Kurt and Olivia Bruner
Genesis 2:24 says, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother, and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson, along with married couples Kurt and Olivia Bruner, and Al and Jo Ann Janssen, discuss the Lord’s blueprint for marriage. The author of "The Marriage Masterpiece," Al Janssen makes the comparison that, similar to uncovering the Sistine Chapel’s vibrant beauty after years of being covered by dirt and grime, God’s original vision for marriage has become concealed by the grime of our culture.

Millennials in America: Insights into a Generation of Growing Influence
Millennials in America are not only redefining sexuality, but our national values as well. On today’s edition of Family Talk, researcher George Barna explains to co-host Dr. Tim Clinton that the reason why people ages 25-40 are spiritually adrift is because nine out of ten grew up in households without a biblical worldview. No wonder 75 percent don’t have a clear purpose, and only 20 percent believe all life is sacred. Due to their secular experiences, Millennials are prone to give up on marriage, on having kids, and even on life itself. But authentic, caring Christians can easily point them toward the Lord and Heaven.

Through My Father’s Eyes: The Legacy of Billy Graham with Guest Franklin Graham
Through his worldwide ministry, the late Reverend Billy Graham led millions to a meaningful relationship with Jesus. Because of this, he changed the culture forever. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson and Billy’s son, The Reverend Franklin Graham, reflect on the life and legacy of Christianity’s most influential evangelist. After Billy went home to be with the Lord in 2018, Franklin was inspired to write about his father’s legacy and his personal relationship with the man he called “Daddy,” in his memoir, “Through My Father’s Eyes.” Even though Franklin strayed as a young man, he came to know Christ at age 22. When he shared the good news, his father said, “Your mother and I have been praying for this day for a long time!” You’ll hear about Billy Graham’s own conversion, his famed Los Angeles tent revival, and the Yankee Stadium crusade that drew over 100,000 people.
About Today's Guest: Rev. Franklin Graham
Rev. Franklin Graham is president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, one of the largest Christian relief and evangelism organizations in the world. He is also an author, public speaker and preacher. Franklin is carrying on the work of his father, the late Rev. Billy Graham, by speaking and evangelizing in person and through broadcast and digital platforms. He has met privately with five U.S presidents as well as world leaders from Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The two Christian non- profits that he leads continue to be on the frontlines wherever there is a large- scale humanitarian crisis, providing basic care, comfort, and medical relief. Franklin and his wife, Jane, reside in Boone, N.C., and have four grown children and many grandchildren.

How are you honoring God with your finances? Matthew 6:24 says, “No one can serve two masters…you cannot serve both God and money.” On today’s edition of Family Talk, the late Larry Burkett said there’s a reason why two-thirds of all Christ’s parables addressed the issue of money. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Christian researcher George Barna continues to discuss his latest findings on Millennials to our own Dr. Tim Clinton. Barna reveals that 25- 40 year-olds not only reject the Bible as truth, but they’ve subscribed to the idea that truth comes from within themselves. Ironically, most of them still consider themselves to be Christians. To Millennials, being a believer has nothing to do with Jesus, God, or the Bible. Rather, it’s just about being a good person. However, if they encounter authentic Christians whose lives have been transformed, they will listen. While we are sobered by the overwhelming statistical data that proves most Millennials lack a biblical worldview, we must remain encouraged that as Christians, we can offer them hope through our personal testimonies.
About Today's Guest: George Barna
George Barna is the director of research and co-founder of the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University. He is also an ACU professor, focusing on worldview assessment and development, and cultural transformation. In addition, he serves as senior research fellow for the Center for Biblical Worldview at Family Research Council. He was the founder and leader of the Barna Group, a research company that set the standard for understanding trends in American culture for many years. He has written over 50 books, including numerous award winners and New York Times best-sellers, focusing on cultural and religious trends, leadership, spiritual development, and church dynamics. After graduating summa cum laude from Boston College, George earned two master’s degrees from Rutgers University, and also has a doctorate from Dallas Baptist University. He and his wife, Nancy, have three daughters, three grandchildren and make their home on the central California coast and Phoenix.

An Invitation to Prayer with Guest Kathy Branzell
When we heed God’s invitation to commune with Him in prayer, we can experience the fruits of the Spirit such as peace, patience, and joy. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Kathy Branzell, President of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, explains that every fruit has a root. Philippians 4:6 counsels us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Throughout her 14-year-long battle with a brain tumor and her teenage son’s illness with a rare blood cancer, Kathy learned that God inclines His ear to hear our voice.

Previously, she served as the founder and president of an organization known as Fellowship and Christian Encouragement for Educators (FACE), for which she compiled weekly Scripture passages, prayer prompts and devotionals for educators to use in weekly prayer meetings throughout the school year. A Visit to the Shores of Normandy - Part 1 with Guests Dwight “Andy” Anderson and Steve Reiter
On June 6, 1944, over 150,000 American, British, and Canadian troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to liberate the people of France during World War II, a day now known as D-Day. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson shares personal memories from his visit in 2010 to the Normandy American Cemetery in France, where 4,400 Allied soldiers are buried. The opening scene of the film, Saving Private Ryan, captured both the raw horror and the indisputable heroism of the men who sacrificially gave their lives for freedom on that shore 78 years ago. You’ll be transported to that moment in time as Dr. Dobson and his guests honor those who lost their lives.

Creeds of a Warrior: Fighting Spiritual Battles with Guest Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Jerry Boykin
One of the biggest problems with American Christianity today is the misconception that God saved you only so you can go to Heaven. That’s not true! The Lord also saved you so that you could be a warrior in His kingdom here on earth. On today’s Family Talk, Lt. General (Ret.) Jerry Boykin, who commanded the elite Delta Force combat missions, outlines the spiritual application of five revered and timeless military mottos. For example, Semper Fi, the Marine slogan which means “Always faithful,” should remind us of our call to be faithful to God as He has always been with us. Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good.”
About Today's Guest: Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Jerry Boykin
Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Jerry Boykin serves as the executive vice president at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. He was one of the original members of the U.S. Army's Delta Force, and he went on to command these elite warriors in combat operations. Later in his career with the Army, Boykin also led the Green Berets as well as the Special Warfare Center and School. During his 36-year military career, General Boykin was involved in numerous high-profile missions, including the 1980 Iran hostage rescue attempt, the 1992 hunt for Pablo Escobar in Colombia, and the Black Hawk Down incident in Mogadishu, Somalia. He is an ordained minister with a passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and encourages Christians to become warriors in God's Kingdom. Boykin served his last four years of public service as the Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence under President George W. Bush, from 2002 to 2007. General Boykin and his wife, Ashley, enjoy spending time with their five children and a growing number of grandchildren.

50 Years of Marriage: Our Success Story - Part 2 with Guests Jon and Marylois Gibson
According to Jon and Marylois Gibson, there are two important rules for a committed, dating Christian couple. #1: flee from sexual immorality. #2: receive premarital counseling. On today’s edition of Family Talk, we celebrate the Gibson’s 50th golden wedding anniversary, and together with their dear friend Dr. James Dobson, they discuss that God designed sex exclusively to cement husband and wife in the marital bed, and urge listeners to avoid temptation!
About Today's Guests: Jon and Marylois Gibson
Jon Gibson has been successful in real estate, having developed residential and business properties throughout the western United States over the last 36 years. His company, The Jon Gibson Company, has consistently focused on commercial projects. Recently, Jon has planned residential subdivisions to create over 2,000 new homes in the Sacramento Valley. The company changed its focus over the years from developing their own properties to the acquisition of existing retirement and multi-family communities in Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. Jon and his wife of over 50 years, Marylois, possess the hearts of philanthropists, and a passion to preserve the traditional family. They care deeply about helping "at risk" youth reach their full potential. Jon and Marylois are the proud parents of two children and the grandparents of seven. They reside in the Sierra foothills east of Sacramento, along with their horses.
Marylois Gibson graduated from Loma Linda University with a B.S. in dental
hygiene. She served in this field full-time until she married her husband, Jon. After the couple moved to the Sacramento area, she earned a M.S. in nutrition from U.C. Davis while working part-time. Marylois has two children, which she proudly homeschooled and raised with Jon in a loving, Christian home. She continues to have a heart for young people and encourages them to realize their God-given potential. Marylois’ passion for "at risk" youth to reach their full potential has kept her active in the local church, where she teaches and works with young people and mentors teens. Marylois also serves on the board of Firm Foundations Romania, a ministry providing acute care to orphans there. Along with their two children, she and Jon have seven grandchildren.

50 Years of Marriage: Our Success Story - Part 1 with Guests Jon and Marylois Gibson
On today’s edition of Family Talk, Jon and Marylois Gibson share practical advice on a marriage that lasts, having just celebrated their 50th anniversary. Throughout their relationship, the Gibsons have learned that love is not a feeling, but a commitment. Despite the fact that neither of them had healthy marriage models growing up, they each recognized the Lord had put them together and divorce was never an option. As they prayed together, the Lord revealed that the key was to serve each other. By putting the needs of the other ahead of their own, Jon and Marylois were transformed by God’s grace.

Redeemed: My Journey After Abortion with Guest Toni McFadden
Did you know that African Americans comprise only 12% of the American population, but black women account for 40% of all abortions in the United States? The number one killer in the black community is not police brutality, drugs, or black-on-black crime. It’s the intentional killing of a human life inside the womb. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Toni McFadden explains that she aborted her baby when she was 18, scared and alone because she believed the abortion industry’s lies. After turning to Christ in college, she committed to chastity until marriage. Today, Toni and her husband, who was the father of her aborted baby and came back into her life years later, have four beautiful children. She now serves as a compassionate and bold voice for the voiceless.
About Today's Guest: Toni McFadden
Toni McFadden is a pro-life advocate, speaker and founder of Relationships Matter, a non-profit program which educates teens on the degradation of sex in our culture while equipping them to engage in healthy relationships. A graduate of West Chester University, Toni earned her master’s degree in professional counseling from Clark's Summit University. Toni knows the power of overcoming her own past and establishing a new foundation for herself. She does so, in part, by sharing her powerful testimony of having had an abortion, as told in her book, "Redeemed: My Journey After Abortion." Toni is happily married and has four beautiful children.

A Christian Response to Homosexuality - Part 2 with Guest Dr. Christopher Yuan
On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. Christopher Yuan recounts his former lifestyle of homosexuality, drug use and drug dealing. During that time, he had exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and was serving the creature rather than the Creator. Ultimately, it was his arrest, prison sentence and HIV+ diagnosis that served as a massive wake-up call, resulting in Christopher giving his life to the Lord. After reading the Bible, he discovered that God’s unconditional love did not mean unconditional approval of his sinful behavior, and he realized that his identity must be found in Christ alone.
About Today's Guest: Dr. Christopher Yuan
Dr. Christopher Yuan is an author, speaker and Bible professor who taught at Moody Bible Institute for twelve years. His speaking ministry is centered on faith and sexuality, and has grown to reach millions both domestically and internationally. He regularly speaks at conferences, on college campuses, and in churches. Along with his mother, Angela, Christopher co-authored their memoir, "Out of a Far Country: A Gay Son’s Journey to God," "A Broken Mother’s Search for Hope." He is also the author of "Giving a Voice to the Voiceless" and "Holy Sexuality and the Gospel: Sex, Desire, and Relationships Shaped by God’s Grand Story." Christopher graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 2005, and received a master’s degree in biblical exegesis in 2007, and a doctorate of ministry in 2014. He resides in San Diego, California.
