“He was my hero!” Those are the words of Dr. James Dobson when describing his own father as he was interviewed by Pastor Ed Young on Father’s Day in 2019. Dr. Dobson concluded that, as a young boy, “I wanted to be like him. I wanted his God for my God, his values for my values.” On today’s special edition of Family Talk, Dr. Dobson and Dr. Young discuss the importance and irreplaceable role of fathers in the home.

About Today's Guest: Stephen Kendrick
Dr. Ed Young is the senior pastor of Second Baptist Church of Houston, Texas, and host of the broadcast ministry, "The Winning Walk." While in college at the University of Alabama, he felt God’s leading to become a pastor, and transferred to Mississippi College to continue his education. Dr. Young’s preparation for ministry continued at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He served two terms as president of the Southern Baptist Convention and has authored many books, including "The 10 Commandments of Marriage," "The 10 Commandments of Parenting," and "Healing Broken America." Dr. Young's beloved wife of 58 years, Jo Beth, went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2017. He has three grown sons and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
