Hawk Nelson Singer Rejects God
Jon Steingard, the frontman of Christian rock group Hawk Nelson, has revealed that “he no longer believes in God” after spending his life as a devout Christian.
The Canadian musician went public with the revelation last week in a lengthy Instagram post admitting that he’d “been terrified” for a long time about being “transparent” with his fans about losing faith in his religion.
Today on Educate For Life, Kevin will tackle the questions that caused Jon Steingard to lose his faith. Why does God inflict pain on Job just to win a bet with Satan? Why does God order the Israelites to kill all the Canaanites? Isn’t that genocide? How could God ask Abraham to kill his son?
These are questions that many have and there are very good, logical answers. Tune in for the best episode yet and learn the answers you need to know.

The world is blind...then one boy is born with sight.
Nestled in a mountain haven, the remaining people of the world live in a village that is ordinary but strict. A severe peace must be kept severely, as they say. It's all that keeps them from descending into the chaos that claimed the world a hundred years ago.

Does the Soul Exist? - Eric Hernandez
Soul, in religion and philosophy, the immaterial aspect or essence of a human being, that which confers individuality and humanity, often considered to be synonymous with the mind or the self. In theology, the soul is further defined as that part of the individual which partakes of divinity and often is considered to survive the death of the body.
But how do we tell that the soul exists? Are we purely physical beings or is there some immaterial force that makes us who we are independent of our physical being? Today on Educate For Life to debate the existence of the soul, Kevin has as his guest, Eric Hernandez.
Eric Hernandez is a dynamic evangelist and apologist with a heart for proclaiming the gospel and defending his faith on theological and philosophical grounds. He is a licensed minister, certified formation therapist, and the Apologetics Lead for The Baptist General Convention of Texas. Eric is well respected and sought after for his evangelistic messages, expository ability, and insight into apologetics.
He has spoken and debated on a public level at university and college campuses where he adamantly and adequately defends the Christian faith against atheist, agnostic, and deistic professors of different worldviews. He holds an associate degree in social science, a bachelor's degree in theology, a certificate in apologetics from Biola University, and is currently enrolled at Dallas Baptist University. He is the founder of Eric Hernandez Ministries which encompasses speaking engagements, apologetic seminars, training courses, and debates. He is married to Kendall Hernandez, and the two are the proud parents of Adyson Grace and Hudson Ryan.

Are You a Harvester or Gardener? - Greg Koukl
Today on Educate For Life, Kevin interviews Greg Koukl. Greg started out thinking he was too smart to become a Christian and ended up giving his life for the defense of the Christian faith. A central theme of Greg's speaking and writing is that Christianity—if it's properly understood and properly communicated—makes the most sense of the world as we find it.
Greg is the author of Tactics: A Game Plan for Discussing Your Christian Convictions. In a world increasingly indifferent to Christian truth, followers of Christ need to be equipped to communicate with those who do not speak their language or accept their source of authority. In Tactics, 10th Anniversary Edition, Gregory Koukl demonstrates how to artfully regain control of conversations, keeping them moving forward in constructive ways through thoughtful diplomacy. You'll learn how to stop challengers in their tracks and how to turn the tables on questions or provocative statements. Most important, you'll learn how to get people thinking about Jesus. Tactics provide the game plan for communicating the compelling truth about Christianity with confidence and grace.
Tune in for a great conversation and learn different tactics for how to share your faith. Check out https://www.str.org/ to purchase the book or just find out more information.

How Are You Supposed to Read the Bible - Dr. John Yeo

Cold-Case Christianity - J. Warner Wallace
In about 30 A.D., Jesus Christ was crucified. Three days later he rose from the dead. The only evidence? The recorded writings of his followers. Is it possible to solve this cold case nearly 2,000 years later and determine whether or not it’s true?
Kevin’s guest, J. Warner Wallace believes so. J. Warner Wallace is a Dateline featured cold-case homicide detective, popular national speaker, and best-selling author. He continues to consult on cold-case investigations while serving as a Senior Fellow at the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. He is also an adjunct professor of apologetics at Biola University and a faculty member at Summit Ministries. J. Warner became a Christ-follower at the age of thirty-five after investigating the claims of the New Testament gospels using his skill set as a detective. He eventually earned a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.
J. Warner has appeared on television and radio, explaining the role that evidence plays in the Christian definition of “faith” and defending the historicity of Jesus, the reliability of the Bible, and the truth of the Christian worldview. Jim also speaks at churches, retreats, and camps as he seeks to help people become confident Christian case makers. J. Warner’s book, Cold-Case Christianity, provides readers with ten principles of cold case investigations and utilizes these principles to examine the reliability of the gospel eyewitness accounts. In God’s Crime Scene, he investigates eight pieces of evidence in the universe to make the case for God’s existence. In Forensic Faith, J. Warner makes the case for a more reasonable, evidential Christian faith.
If anyone can make a case for the reasonableness of Christianity, it is J. Warner Wallace. Tune in for a great episode and learn how a former atheist and cold-case detective came to the conclusion that Jesus is for real.

Evolutionary Fraud - Dr. Jerry Bergman
Charles Darwin popularized the idea of Evolution with his theory on Natural Selection. Over the years scientists have put forth evidence in support of Evolution. One of these pieces of proof is vestigial organs. These are supposedly leftover pieces from our Evolutionary past.
The appendix is often put forth as an example of a vestigial organ that has no purpose. However, recent research has shown that it acts as a “safe house” for beneficial bacteria that our gut needs to function.
Today on Educate For Life, Kevin has as his guest, Dr. Jerry Bergman. Jerry Bergman has taught biology, genetics, chemistry, biochemistry, anthropology, geology, and microbiology at Northwest State College in Archbold OH for over 25 years. He has 9 degrees, including 7 graduate (= ‘post-graduate in some non-US systems) degrees. Dr. Bergman is a graduate of Medical College of Ohio, Wayne State University in Detroit, The University of Toledo, and Bowling Green State University. He has over 800 publications in 12 languages and 20 books and monographs. He has also taught at the Medical College of Ohio where he was a research associate in the department of experimental pathology, and he also taught 6 years at the University of Toledo, and 7 years at Bowling Green State University.
Among his books is a monograph on peer evaluation published by the College Student Journal Press, a Fastback on the creation-evolution controversy published by Phi Delta Kappa, a book on vestigial organs with Dr. George Howe (‘Vestigial Organs’ are Fully Functional), a book on psychology and religious cults, a book on religious discrimination published by Onesimus Press, and a book on mental health published by Claudius Verlag in München. He has also published a college textbook on evaluation (Boston, Houghton Mifflin Co.), and has contributed to dozens of other textbooks. He was also a consultant for over 20 science textbooks, mostly biology and biochemistry.
Tune in to learn about irrefutable proof that evolution is not scientific. In fact, he knows many people who have come to Christianity through the study of science. You don’t want to miss this.

Replacing Darwin - Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson
Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species is considered one of history’s most influential books and has become the foundation of evolutionary biology. But what if Darwin was looking at the same evidence today using modern science; would his conclusions be the same?
Today on Educate For Life, Kevin’s guest is Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson. Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson holds a Ph.D. in cell and developmental biology from Harvard University. He serves as a research biologist, author, and speaker with Answers in Genesis and formerly conducted research with the Institute for Creation Research.
Dr. Jeanson will describe for you how Darwin’s theory is falling apart and the tide is turning toward Creation Science. One common objection against Creation Science is that it doesn’t make any predictions. Not only is that objection false, but the predictions that are being made are also coming true. Dr. Jeanson lists several predictions in his book, “Replacing Darwin”. He continues to work on research that continues to prove those predictions.

Raising Emotionally Strong Kids - Brooks Gibbs
In today’s world, aggression seems to be at an all-time high. It seems like everyone is offended by practically everything. In order to fit in, you got to be woke and speak your truth and shout down anyone who opposes you. However, this strategy doesn’t work in any kind of human relationship or any kind of real-world situation. If your a parent, raising kids in this kind of environment is daunting. The solution is to raise your kids to be emotionally resilient.
Today on Educate For Life, Kevin’s guest is Brooks Gibbs. Brooks Gibbs is an award-winning social skills educator. He is a popular youth speaker who's presented 2,500 speeches. His viral videos have been translated into 20 languages and amassed more than 200 million views. He specializes in teaching youth how to be emotionally resilient and inspires them to live by the Golden Rule.
Brooks teaches students two basic principles:
• Don’t get upset (Emotional Resilience)
• Treat them like a friend (The Golden Rule)
Most youth aggression is non-criminal and consists of name-calling, social exclusion, rumors, etc. These behaviors are inevitable between siblings at home and peers at school. Despite the pettiness of these behaviors, they can do tremendous emotional harm to a student. Brooks teaches students how to protect their emotions from the effects of these behaviors through emotional resilience. He also communicates the genius of The Golden Rule. This social instruction teaches students how to make friends and also manage their perceived enemies. The Golden Rule takes advantage of the law of reciprocity, and as students learn to treat others as friends, this positive behavior becomes the social norm.

What Are the Nephilim? - Tim Chaffey
The Nephilim are mentioned three times in the Bible. There is a lot of mystery surrounding who or what they were. Some theories claim that they are aliens. They point to the root word in Hebrew which means “fallen one” meaning they fell from the sky. However, that may not be accurate. The true root word may be an Aramaic term that simply means “giant”.
Today on Educate For Life, Kevin has as his guest Tim Chaffey. Tim Chaffey has written the book, literally, on the subject. It is called “Fallen: The Sons of God and the Nephilim”. Genesis 6 introduces two of the most mysterious groups in all of Scripture: the sons of God and the Nephilim (or giants). Scholars have been divided over this issue since the early days of the church. Were the sons of God really fallen angels that married women or were they something else? Were the Nephilim the offspring of the unions between the sons of God and women or were they already around prior to these marriages? Why were they on the earth again after the Flood?
Find out the truth about two of the greatest mysteries in Scripture as Tim clears up the misconceptions and presents one of the most detailed and scholarly studies ever done on this subject. You may never look at the Old Testament the same way again.
Tune in for a great episode that unpacks a biblical mystery and sheds light on the subject. If you want to learn more, check out http://midwestapologetics.org.

How Kinds (Not Species) Originated - Pastor Andrew Rappaport and Dr. Anthony Silvestro
Today on Educate For Life, Kevin has two great guests to discuss the interesting connection between science and ministry. How do you get a scientist and a pastor to team up?
Dr. Anthony Silvestro grew up in a Roman Catholic family. His love for science began at an early age. Throughout his early years of education, he excelled in both mathematics and science. As a result, the secular world accomplished its goal: he became an evolutionist by the time he completed his ninth-grade biology class. This became the start of his fast-paced drift away from God. Years later after meeting his wife Julie, who was also raised Roman Catholic, God got ahold of Dr. Silvestro. On a trip to a medical conference he visited the Creation Museum and discovered that he needed to rethink everything he thought he knew about evolution. Today, he is a creationist working with churches to equip them to defend a biblical worldview.
Andrew Rappaport is the founder and president of Striving for Eternity Ministries and the executive director of the Christian Podcast Community. He is the host of several podcasts; Andrew Rappaport's Rapp Report, Andrew Rappaport's Rapp Report Daily, Apologetics Live, and So You Want to be a Podcaster. Andrew is the author of the books What Do They Believe, which is a systematic theology of the major western religions, and What Do We Believe, which is a systematic theology of the Christian faith. He also contributed to other books like On the Origins of Kinds and Sharing the Good News with Mormons. Andrew established Equip Conferences (formally Spread the Fire), evangelism training and outreach events. He is the instructor for the Striving for Eternity Academy, an online school that teaches hermeneutics and systematic theology.
