In this video, Jorge demonstrates how a user can manage their smart home automation devices for Total Connect 2.0. The process is very similar whether the user is using the Android or iOS version of the TC2 App. All operation and control for smart home devices occurs with the automation menu of TC2.

Total Connect 2.0 is an interactive service platform that is used with Honeywell Security Systems. The service allows a user to perform many functions on their alarm system. Some of the most popular features include arming and disarming the system, checking the current status of sensors and controlling smart home devices. The home automation features can be performed both from the website version of Total Connect 2.0 and through the Mobile App version that is used on tablets.

Upon accessing the automation menu, all of the programmed Z-Wave devices will be displayed so that they can be controlled individually. Many devices will simply toggle on or off. But some devices, such as dimmable Z-Wave lights or Z-Wave thermostats can be adjusted to different levels. A user can go through each device that they have set up and adjust its settings. Thanks to Total Connect 2.0 App, a user will be able to perform these actions from basically anywhere in the world.

It is also possible for a user to create Z-Wave smart scenes through Total Connect 2.0. Smart scenes are used to have one or more Z-Wave smart home devices activate automatically based on a set schedule or with certain system events. For example, a user might have their Z-Wave thermostat shut off and their Z-Wave lights turn off automatically when they arm their system before leaving for work. And they might have another scene to turn their Z-Wave thermostat back on at 5:30pm right before they usually get home from work.
