Washington: Seattle Motorcycle show 2014

Washington winters are known for being wet and cold. Events like the Seattle motorcycle show are held during the winter to give Seattleites hope for the upcoming spring. You’ll find a lot of new and used Harleys, Dirt bikes from KTM, Yamaha, Honda, and Kawasaki, as well as a huge assortment of street bike manufacturers. There are Custom painters, custom bike makers, showing off their creations, and the ever present accessory vendors, showing off some truly unique products.
As a photographer, it was a greater challenge than I’d thought. The myriad colors of carpet, with throw rugs under most of the bikes gave me a difficult background for most shots. With the overhead lighting created a massive challenge as well. It was a great event to shoot. Much more challenging than I’d expected. If you have time and need more practice taking pictures, I guarantee a photo rich environment, with challenges enough to hone your skills or drive you crazy. Take a lot more pictures than you think you need, just to make sure you get a few good shots. Because a lot of what you would be shooting are small details, I would suggest bringing a reflector with you to use as a portable backdrop. A lot of the best bikes were in dark areas with colored LED lights as accents, so a flash is almost useless and unwelcome.Show more
