A quiet pattern will continue for the next 7 days so you can't use weather as an excuse for why you didn't get someone a Christmas present. A weak wave is flowing through our area today which as some cloud cover with it but no moisture. Temperatures will be climbing into the upper 20s with initial southwest winds turning to the northwest by the late afternoon at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight, partly to mostly cloudy skies will keep temperatures a little warmer around to mid and upper teens under calm winds. Friday will be warmer with cloudy skies and southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph with highs in the mid 30s to near 40 degrees. Mostly sunny weather this weekend with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s will continue to melt the snow pack. Anyone hoping for a white Christmas will likely need to head north because the Fox Valley is set on having a brown Christmas this year. Temperatures will start to fall into the mid and lower 30s late next week but it will still be above average since our highs this time of year are typically in the mid 20s.
