How the hell is Thompson a ranking member on any committee, let alone still in congress. Thompson is a disgrace and a filthy liar who has committed crimes. If not, and you're so righteous and truthful with the disgusting crap that you spew, then why the F' would you ever solicit and/or accept a premptive pardon?

Everyone is ignoring the elephant in the room. The GAO, Government Accounting Office, was created in 1921 to determine the efficiency with which financial affairs of federal agencies are managed and to submit to the Congress in specific and annual reports its findings as to financial condition of the government. They were to be "Bean Counters"! Over the last 100+ years they have gradually assumed many other duties and powers. Now they are unable to do their original job and also fail at many other jobs they have assumed. Congress and the Executive Branch need to strip the GAO of the jobs where they are failing and remind them are to be ONLY "Bean Counters" and do that job well.
