IG firings were well-done. Inspector-General's provide an impenetrable-shield for corruption. Agency General-Counsel's are where much of the offensive capability lies. Very little mischief occurs outside General-Counsel's purview. Staff up to Secretary's themselves all salute the General-Counsel. Without their SES, IG shields, General-Counsel's are much more vulnerable to legitimate criticism. Do General-Counsel's break laws? They most assuredly do.
