Pizza Hut's tournament was a promotional campaign for the men's NCAA basketball tournament in which anyone could enter to compete to win a lifetime supply of pizza, mini basketballs, and Pizza Hut sunglasses. The undefeated Detroit locals Duck and King won the tournament as a two man team before they were ultimately disqualified for starting a fistfight after the championship game. The fight ended with a dozen people in the hospital including fans, cheerleaders, and all three referees in critical condition.
