Abraham Never Existed
The Hebrew biblical figure of Abraham, revered by billions as the patriarch of monotheism, is nothing more than a sophisticated myth, concocted by [Greek educated] Jewish scholars in the late third century BCE. This narrative was not only a literary fabrication but also a strategic maneuver to assert a divine claim over the land of Palestine and to elevate the Jewish people above all others, fostering a narrative of racial superiority that has misled countless individuals across more than two millennia.

The character of Abraham, as described in the Hebrew Bible, bears striking resemblances to figures from Greek mythology. Consider the journey of Abraham, paralleling the trials of Odysseus or the wanderings of Aeneas. These motifs were not coincidental; they were deliberate attempts by Jewish scribes to imbue their narrative with the aura of epic sagas known to the Hellenistic world. The story of Abraham's covenant, his tests of faith, and his miraculous progeny echo the themes of divine favor, heroism, and destiny are all found in Greek epics.

However, unlike the Greek myths, which were openly celebrated as tales teaching moral and philosophical lessons, the Abrahamic narrative was presented with a veneer of historical authenticity. This was a calculated move to lend legitimacy to territorial claims and racial superiority over neighboring peoples, who are often demonized or marginalized (in an overtly racist way) within the biblical texts.
...
The primary motive behind crafting Abraham was to justify the Jewish claim to Palestine. By inventing a divine promise of land to Abraham and his descendants, the narrative served as a religious and ideological basis for territorial conquest and retention. This myth was particularly potent in the context of the Hellenistic and later Roman periods, where land ownership and cultural identity were fiercely contested.

The story of Abraham moving from Ur to Canaan not only maps out a spiritual journey but also lays down a physical claim, suggesting that the land was divinely bestowed upon his lineage. This narrative has had profound geopolitical consequences, fueling conflicts over the same land for millennia, with each side invoking biblical rights.
...
The myth of Abraham also subtly promotes a narrative of racial superiority. By portraying Abraham as the progenitor of a "chosen" people, it implicitly suggests that his descendants are divinely favored over all others. This has been interpreted through the ages to mean that Jews, or those who align themselves with this lineage, are superior in moral, spiritual, or even racial terms. Such a belief system, when taken to its logical extreme, endorses a form of racial elitism, which is antithetical to modern principles of equality and human rights.
...
The tragedy lies in how this myth has been accepted as historical fact by billions of people who lack the scholarly tools or inclination to dissect its literary origins or the cultural context in which it was written. People have oriented their lives, ethics, and even international policies around these stories, often without questioning their authenticity or the motives behind their creation. The result is a world where religious narratives are mistaken for historical truths, leading to conflicts, discriminations, and a profound misunderstanding of human history.
...
The myth of Abraham, far from being a benign story of faith, is a masterful piece of propaganda, designed to serve political, territorial, and ideological ends. It is high time that we, as a global society, acknowledge these tales for what they are: myths, not history. We must educate ourselves and others about the literary and cultural origins of religious narratives, fostering a world where myths are appreciated for their moral insights but not confused with the factual recounting of events. Only then can we begin to undo the damage that millennia of misinformation has caused, and promote a more informed, critical, and humane understanding of our shared human heritage can we ever hope to live together in peace.
