My grandma always said that no mater what doctors said then or say now we should always try to eat as we always did butcher our own meat and get our own lard, eat our own veggies and fruits, eat lots of healthy soup, stews and beans and don't listen to anyone. If it worked for a thousand years we need to stuck with it.
Dropping my diet to grass fed beef and bacon fat with berries and fibrous fruit actually dropped my blood pressure to normal levels for the first time in my life. I tried all kinds of things. Simply getting rid of all this inflammatory garbage listed in the food pyramid did wonders.
I remember this food pyramid scheme. It's full of crap. Teachers taught this to us like it's gospel. Of course we has a classmate at secondary school that worked out and look fit as day. He called out this nonsense but was shut down and told he doesn't know what he's saying...by a teacher with a beer belly.
I'll never forget when they put up the food pyramid poster in our grade school cafeteria in the 80's. Interestingly this is when breakfast cereal started to turn into pure sugar and they would show a commercial for it as a "complete breakfast" with the cereal, 2 pieces of toast and butter, a glass of milk and a glass of OJ. Like who ever ate that for breakfast?

The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) and the World Cancer Research Fund have also concluded that eating even small amounts of processed meats on a daily basis can increase colorectal cancer risk.
Studies show that compared to eating no processed meat, eating 3.5 ounces daily (just a large hot dog), increases colorectal cancer risk by 36%.
5. Dairy Products
The fact that we require calcium (Ca) is a poor reason to say we must drink milk because heat or pasteurization renders the Ca practically unassimilable and of very little use to the human body.
The average American gets 807 mg of Ca a day from drinking milk. Compare that to daily averages in Brazil (250 mg), Spain (308 mg), Ghana (8 mg), and Taiwan (13 mg). People in these countries get their Ca from other sources like spinach, broccoli, kidney beans, soybeans, almonds, rhubarb, turnips, collards.

A recent study from Clemson University represents the other extreme, controlling for as many aspects as possible by isolating prostate cancer cells out of the body in a petri dish and dripping cow milk on them directly.
The scientists chose organic cow’s milk, because they wanted to exclude the effect of extra hormones so that they could test the effect of all the growth hormones and sex steroids found naturally in milk.
They discovered that cow’s milk stimulated the growth of human prostate cancer cells in each of fourteen separate experiments, producing an average increase in the cancer growth rate of over 30%. In contrast, almond milk restrained the growth of these cancer cells by over 30%.

6. Eggs
About 2 million men in the United States are living with prostate cancer. Eggs have zero (0) dietary fiber and about 70% of their calories are from fat, a big portion of which is saturated.
Eggs are the most concentrated usual source of choline in the American diet, which may increase the risk of cancer emergence, spread, and lethality.
The World Health Organization examined data from 34 countries in 2003 and found that eating eggs is linked with death from rectal and colon cancers.
In a Harvard study, entitled Choline Intake and the Risk of Lethal Prostate Cancer, found that those with the highest choline intake had a 70 percent increased risk of fatal prostate cancer. Another recent study found that men who consumed 2 and a half or more eggs/week (that’s just like one egg every 3 days), had an 81% increased risk of lethal prostate cancer.
7. Microwave foods

8. Soda
Soda is the second most-consumed drink in the United States, and it’s because adults and children alike are gulping down abundant amounts of bubbly artificial liquids without a practical sense of health consequences.
A chemical called 4-methylimidazole, found in the composition of some caramel colors and which is used to give colas a brown color, may also increase cancer risk in those that ingest beverages containing it.
In 2015, Public health researchers have analyzed soda consumption data in order to identify people’s exposure to a potentially carcinogenic byproduct of some types of caramel color. The results were that between 44% and 58% of people over the age of six could be „unnecessarily” increasing their cancer risk by drinking at least 1 can of soda per day, according to researchers from the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future.
9. Foods that are smoked
Smoked foods are linked with an increased risk for certain cancers due to the presence of cancer-causing compounds – carcinogens. The potential risk linked with grilled foods comes from the development of heterocyclic amines (HCA), chemical substances formed when fat from food (usually animal protein) hits the flames from grilling.
Unlike meat, vegetables and fruits don’t create carcinogens when they char as the formation of HCAs depends on the presence of creatine, which is usually found in muscle tissue. The lack of fat also signifies there are no flare-ups that can create smoke.

11. Hydrogenated oils
Hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils are developed from otherwise nontoxic, natural elements. To make them hydrogenated, oils are heated in the presence of hydrogen and metal catalysts. An example of complete hydrogenation is margarine.
Vegetable oils contain a very high concentration of Omega 6 fatty acids. These Omega 6 acids oxidize easily. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to reduce inflammation and protect against cancer. Unbalanced levels of Omega-6 and Omega-3 fats have been associated to many types of cancers and a host of other problems.

1. Palm Oil
When a regular fat like corn, soybean, or palm oil is blasted with hydrogen and turned into a solid, it becomes a trans fat. These evil anti-nutrients help packaged foods stay "fresh," meaning that the food can sit on the supermarket shelf for years without ever getting stale or rotting. Eating junk food with trans fats raises your "bad" LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and lowers your "good" HDL. These fats also increase your risk of blood clots and heart attack. Avoid palm oil and other trans fats like the plague, and kiss fried foods goodbye too, since they're usually fried in one of these freakish trans-fatty oils.
2. Shortening
Ditch any food that lists shortening or partially hydrogenated oil as an ingredient, since these are also evil trans fats. In addition to clogging your arteries and causing obesity, they also increase your risk of metabolic syndrome. Choose healthier monounsaturated fats, such as olive, peanut and canola oils and foods that contain unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids instead.
3. White Flour, Rice, Pasta, and Bread
When a whole grain is refined, most of its nutrients are sucked out in an effort to extend its shelf life. Both the bran and germ are removed, and therefore all the fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Because these stripped down, refined grains are devoid of fiber and other nutrients, they're also easy to digest — TOO EASY. They send your blood sugar and insulin skyrocketing, which can lead to all sorts of problems. Replace processed grains with whole grains, like brown or wild rice, whole-wheat breads and pastas, barley, and oatmeal.
4. High Fructose Corn Syrup
The evil king of all refined grains is high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). The amount of refined sugar we consume has declined over the past 40 years, but we're consuming almost 20 times as much HFCS. According to researchers at Tufts University, Americans consume more calories from HFCS than any other source. It's in practically EVERYTHING. 5. Artificial Sweeteners
Aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal), saccharin (Sweet'N Low, SugarTwin), and sucralose (Splenda) may be even harder on our metabolic systems than plain old sugar. These supposedly diet-friendly sweeteners may actually be doing more harm than good! Studies suggest that artificial sweeteners trick the brain into forgetting that sweetness means extra calories, making people more likely to keep eating sweet treats without abandon. Nip it in the bud. Scan ingredient labels and ban all artificial sweeteners from entering your mouth.
6. Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Benzoate
These preservatives are sometimes added to soda to prevent mold from growing, but benzene is a known carcinogen that is also linked with serious thyroid damage. Dangerous levels of benzene can build up when plastic bottles of soda are exposed to heat or when the preservatives are combined with ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Don't risk it, people
7. Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA)
BHA is another potentially cancer-causing preservative, but it has been deemed safe by the FDA. It's also found in food packaging and cosmetics. BHA has many aliases. You can look them up. Or you can follow my advice and DITCH processed foods altogether.

No that's not a typo. These two different preservatives are found in processed meats like bacon, lunch meat, and hot dogs. They're some of the worst offenders, and they're believed to cause colon cancer and metabolic syndrome, which can lead to diabetes. Protect your health by always choosing fresh, organic meats.
9. Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow
The artificial colors blue 1 and 2, green 3, red 3, and yellow 6 have been linked to thyroid, adrenal, bladder, kidney, and brain cancers. Always seek out foods with the fewest artificial chemicals, especially when shopping for your kids. Look for color-free medications and natural food products that don't contain artificial colors like these.
10. MSG
Monosodium glutamate is a processed "flavor enhancer." While glutamates are present in some natural foods, such as meat and cheese, the ones exploited by the processed-foods industry are separated from their host proteins through hydrolysis. The jury is still out on how harmful MSG may be, but high levels of free glutamates have been shown to seriously screw with brain chemistry. Don't fall prey to chemical flavor enhancing. Crop plants, farm animals, and soil bacteria are some of the more prominent examples of organisms that have been subject to genetic engineering.
