Question: if people have lowered their carb intake in
accordance to their CGM, but then stall in weight loss, what?
-we call it non-scale victories
On a healthy diet, you are reversing osteoporosis and
building lean muscle mass, while losing fat mass...
-if you have two tissues, both strongly related to longevity
and health [muscle & bone]; then
That could offset any weight loss from fat

Check the mirror test: it does not lie--see how you look
or: waist-circumference measure: must be done correctly
For reproducibility: lie flat on back, wrap measuring tape at
belly button, use same tension each time
-that is the measure to use to check progress over time
-do not focus on what the weight scale says
-you are likely getting healthier....
more muscle, bone than before

On low carb diet, we frequently see osteoporosis reverse...
-in med school, taught that this never happens
Bone: scaffolding of protein in which you have other
minerals, including calcium, that get impregnated into the
protein scaffolding
-Must have High Protein Diet to reverse osteoporosis

Study, Australia, males & females over age 65...
-gave them calcium + vitamin D, to help it absorb
-result: reduced the decline in bone density loss, but
did not reverse it
-when body needs more calcium--it breaks down bone
-if calcium coming in regularly, no need to break bone down
But, without added protein, body cannot
rebuild the bone
So: study had groupings by protein intake
highest protein group: reversed osteoporosis
-this, in postmenopausal women and men
