Asylum seeker derails Icelandic parliament immigration meeting
This is the moment a daring protester disrupted a parliamentary meeting in Iceland, by climbing over the railings of a first floor balcony. During the meeting, in which a bill to change Iceland’s immigration law was being discussed, the man can be seen clinging to the balcony railings, yelling at Minister of Justice Guðrún Hafsteinsdóttir and accusing her of ‘having no justice.’
The protester was eventually manhandled to safety, before he and his companions were ejected. The footage was shared on social media by politician Ásmundur Friðriksson, who commented that the meeting had to be adjourned because people were ‘upset.’ If the whistling was anything to go by, they weren’t too upset.
