💥 5 Common Things that Cults Share 💥

1. Cults share a centralized authority that rigidly structures both people's view point and lifestyle

2. Cults share a mentality of "We vs They"

3. They all are share a commitment for each member to proselytize intensely the unconverted

4. A rooted isolation that cuts off their followers from the root of the world at large

5. They use Love Bombing Technique - attracting people with an outpouring of attention and affection. e.g. Reminds me of MLM schemes when they are trying to recruit you!

💥 Psychological Cult Pressures 💥

💣 Altered Diets - in order to manipulate your mind since you are weak (VEGANS) -

---> Krishna, a Hindu deity acknowledges the benefits of veganism for Krishna consciousness; Most Hindus avoid consuming meat, including beef, pork, and other types of meat; Some Hindus, particularly those following the Vaishnava tradition, avoid onions and garlic.

---> Pork is often associated with impurity and corruption, leading to its prohibition in Islamic teachings.

---> Some Buddhist sects in China and Vietnam avoid the Five Pungent Spices, which include onions, scallions, chives, and garlic. These spices are believed to cause strong emotions and can lead to negative thoughts and actions.

---> Some Buddhists abstain from eating offal, known as xiàshui (下水) in Chinese. This practice is influenced by the belief in the sanctity of life and the avoidance of harming living beings.

💣 Cults demands absolute loyalty to their organization and founder (NOT TO GOD) but to the cult leader e.g. Mohamed, Buddha etc. Allegiance enforced through threats! e.g. if a woman commits adultery she will be stoned (lapidation), also described in Torah, Talmud for various offenses against the faith, Mormonism a mix of Christianity and whatever Joseph Smith says teaches that there are many gods and that men should wear a white shirt and tie to church emphasizing the importance of dressing up for church without being showy.

💣 Conformity/Dress Codes e.g. Buddhism, Islam and Hinduism (For temple etiquette and dress code, both men and women should wear modest, conservative clothing that allows for spiritual freedom within the limits of dharma)

💣 Doctrine Confusion to discourage logic e.g. Mormons (The Guide to the Scriptures) and Jehovah Witnesses have a handbook to interpret the Bible (Jehovah's Witnesses offer free Bible study resources everyday on the streets - they even come door to door offering pamphlets)

💣 Exclusivity - they perceive anyone outside the cult as spiritually inferior, lost, confused, abandoned by their god. Muslim states and communities interact with outsiders in a negative way discouraging members from interacting with Kafirs (which means "infidel" or "denier" - someone who does not believe in Allah or the teachings of Islam), (the core principles of Islam encourage tolerance, empathy, and acceptance towards those who are not part of the faith community) however this is not the case.

💣 Hypnotic State - repetitious singing e.g. Catholicism, chanting, meditating e.g. Hinduism (Trance-Migrations of Hinduism, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Sadhus, Fakirs, Yoga by Yogis, and Sannyasis (Sannyasa)) - Hindu yogis are able to charm serpents, control women, and win the favor of men by means of hypnosis, Buddhism etc

💣 Isolation from the outside - reality is diminished when isolation is enforced from other faiths is enforced. Members are forbidden from reading other books of faith

💣 Lack of Privacy - after love bombing technique is successful on the initiate the initiate has no privacy and this is enforced that the initiate is forbidden to have relations with anyone outside the cult e.g. Islam, Mormonism etc

💣 Peer pressure - challenged by other cult members to do rituals, exercises, actions

💣 Unquestioning submission - Islam is famous for this! While blind obedience is not universally advocated in Islam the faith is built on unquestioning submission to Allah and doctrine. Taqlid, the acceptance of legal decisions without knowing their basis, is a concept in Islamic law that touches on this idea of unquestioning acceptance.
