First video of survivors of private jet crash in Afghan mountains

Video of the survivors and wreckage of a Russian-registered Falcon 10 aircraft that crashed over Afghanistan has emerged following their rescue. The videos were published by Afghan radio Hurriyat.

The aircraft was on a ‘hospital flight’ from Pattaya, Thailand to Moscow, via India and Uzbekistan, when radar contact was lost somewhere near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border on Saturday evening. Six people were believed to be on board the plane – the man being taken to the hospital, his wife and four crew members. The downed aircraft was eventually found in Afghanistan’s mountainous and inhospitable Badakhshan region. Four survivors have been recovered so far, including the pilot, while the fate of the other two is unknown.

Early media reports indicate that the plane suffered catastrophic technical problems.
