❓Should you eat sugar substitutes?

With just a couple years of having erythritol and xylitol (sugar substitutes, sugar alcohols), my digestive system rebelled... extreme distress. 😩

To me, it's just not worth it! Instead, I choose to have natural sweeteners, but less of them.

So I still have the enjoyment, but not the extreme sweetness or sugar overload. Mostly, I use coconut sugar and maple syrup, both low glycemic index and tasty. In moderation!

These two work with my digestive system and my consumption goals. 🙏🏻

The truth is, we can get in trouble with sugar substitutes. It just tends to happen.

With them, we might think, "Oh, I can have lots of this." But then many of us (I'm not the only one) end up with our bodies rebelling against it.

And... to be honest, we also stay addicted to a sweet taste because it's just sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet all the time with these sugar substitutes!

We're all much better off with real sweeteners, yet less of them.

That's the better long term play. We still get the enjoyment, yet we're not overdoing or running into problems because of artificial/substitute sweeteners (or excess sugar, period).

Once again... another reason to get back to what God designed for our nourishment. 🙏🏻 We call it Eat God's Way.

Our Eat God's Way recipes and methods use high-quality whole foods (aka real sweeteners) along with cooking methods from Bible Times that make those foods more nutritious and digestible. Without sacrificing taste! We LOVE our food!
