Homemade Italian Meatballs & Marinara Sauce Recipe

Homemade Meatballs & Sauce
Sauce:
3 Tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 Onion Diced
2 Cloves Garlic Diced
1 Tbsp Salt
1 Cup Red Wine
3 24 oz cans/jars of Tomato Puree
1 1/2 tsp black pepper
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
Add oil, onion, garlic. Saute for about 5 mins. Add Salt and wine. Simmer 3 mins, then add Tomato Puree, black pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
Meatballs:
Use Ratios:
1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper per pound of meat
1 slice bread or 1/4 cup bread crumbs per pound of meat
2 Cloves Garlic Diced
1/4 Cup Onion Diced
3 tsp Fresh Rosemary (divided)
2 tsp Fresh Basil (divided)
2 tsp Fresh Thyme (divided)
2 tsp Fresh Parsley
1 lb Ground Pork
1 lb Ground Beef
1 lb Ground Veal
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese shredded (I cut the cheese amount down, balls were too dry)
1 Tbsp Steak Sauce
3 Tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream (or 2 Tbsp whole milk or water)
3 slices of bread
3 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp Pepper
Cube bread and place into a bowl with 3 Tbsp of Whipping Cream. Let sit 5 mins.
Use a fork to mash bread mixture.
Add Garlic, onion, 1 1/2 tsp Rosemary, 1 tsp Thyme, and 1 tsp Basil to bread mixture.
Add Parmesian cheese.
Mix thoroughly with fork.
Add bread mixture to meat into a bowl.
Add steak sauce
Add Salt & Pepper
Mix meat and bread mixture together
Add another 1/4 cup Parmesian cheese and mix again
Roll meatballs by hand
Add meatballs to red sauce that's been warming on stove
Simmer meatballs & sauce for 2 hrs with lid vented a bit
Stir sauce after 30 mins of simmering and stir every 20-30 mins thereafter until done
Last 15 mins of cook, add remaining Basil, Rosemary, and Thyme
Continue simmering another 15 mins.
Garnish with more Parmesian and chopped Parsley
